[Q] About to get a HTC ONE, few quetions - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Hi guys, I'm about to buy a second hand HTC ONE but I heard that trhe camera has a defect, purple tint.
-How can I check if it does have the defect?
-Is it something that happens over time?
-Is there anything I should know before I make this purchase?
Thank you!

If it has the tint problem, it usually seems to be at its worst when the phone is warm. Neither my m7, or my wife's m7 have this problem though, so I can not say for sure.

Most of these M7 camera problems I have seen have been software related.
The newest camera app provided with the Sense 6 update is fairly good at fixing this issue.
The HTC One is bar none the BEST phone I have ever owned. And I own MANY.
Don't let this glitch stop your purchase.

How many are breaking!?

I will be purchasing one soon, but i see alot of problems! Is this just because no one posts "everything is good" and most posts are just going to be "mine broke"?
including, leds/trackball light, broken pixels, screen gap etc
also is there any thing in common between the broken ones? Ex mostly white ones are breaking
and does htc offer a warranty at all?, i found the hero for 580 usd w/ free shipping but no return policy/warranty...this is scaring me!
Should i get white with teflon coating or brown which i sort of like more?
also i plan on rooting the hero, and i want to be clear on if you can put it back to normal after rooting if i have to return to htc.
one last thing, a few posts said "mine died"... is this totally dead? will they be able to see if it was rooted in this case?
Sorry for the long post!
ps, please post color and (maybe model number???) and if its broken or not

Mine is an unlocked HTC-branded brown one. No hardware problems so far (2 weeks).

Problems with build-quality (screen gap) seems isolated to some batches of operator-branded phones.

The brown one also has a rubbery-like surface. Not sure if its teflon, but its definitely not the usual hard&glossy surface that most phones have.

It shouldn't be a problem. I'd also expect HTC to reload a "known good image" on any returned phone before they run any form of diagnostics test.
thanks very much!
No problems with mine either..going on two weeks, white unlocked from clove.co.uk.
No problem here
all good here... lovin my hero!!!
Mine is still perfectly fine - no issues with build/hardware at all.
personally

well i just have to point out something. I bought my phone a week ago and till a few days ago, me too i thought that i was a happy hero owner until i read issues about the led thing and checked my phone. I do not know if i have the headphone prob as i never checked it out. What i want to say is that some issues are present and you wont notice them unless u pay attention to them.
Do u want to say that gap issues between the screen and more than 30 ppl complaining about issues with led, trackball and headphones ( probably more but some of us do not know it yet) are due to the fact that we dont take care of our phones????
I'm gonna jump right in, and just say. i've had my hero for 2 weeks and loving it.
This is my first android phone, so I took a little getting used to, think the missus is getting fed up with me checking forums and stuff. But all in all I am extremly happy with my Hero.
I use it everyday for:
E-mail
Facebook
Calls
Messages
USB Modem
Surfing
RSS
Podcasts
Performs better than my Ipod Touch ever did, and I almost never have to hook it up to the laptop... Loving IT!
so far mine works fine (1 week). the gap is a problem with some branded phones but mine (T-Mobile Germany "2G Touch") has no gap. the problems with the headphones and LED seem to be software related, since there is a workaround to manually activate the headphone again.
oh and BTW I <3 Hero. best phone i ever had.
got 2 on first release from orange (graphite), 6 weeks ago, 1 for me and 1 for me gf.
no screen gap issues, no dead pixels on arrival, but i had one appear after 2 weeks, right down bottom right of phone, extremely small and never notice it at all unless im on dead pixel detect.
gfs phone hasnt any dead pixels as of yet.
not a single other problem like leds or headphones.
2 totally happy customers here.
Totally happy with mine, no hardware problems so far.
Best phone I've ever had especially with how much I
Like to mess with stuff.
I was happy only one day. If I use longer (about 10 min) my Hero screen starts flashing. If I make reset, everything is ok for some period. I hope it's not serious problem.
I had the LED issue for a while, but just updated to the new rom, and they are back, so this could be a software, not hardware issue
Oh, and love love love the phone
I have read many posts saying that the new ROM update will fix LED and Headphone jack issues.
I just bought a phone on eBay myself, haven't had the chance to play around with it too much since I need to change my plan beforehand, but I have turned it on and look around and everything is fine. It is a White Unlocked one. I must say, the Teflon coating is like nothing I've ever felt before on a phone, it just makes it feel like a million bucks!
But besides the color, which is up to you, I would say get the phone! There is always a 1 year manufacturer warranty, even if the seller doesn't offer you one of their own.
An official HTC update will be coming out VERY soon if you don't like the idea of loading up a custom ROM (although it is highly recommended as there are added quirks such as root access).

[Q] HTC one x+ Issues-anyone else have these?

Hi
I have had this phone for just over a week, and when closing certain apps from the multitasking button, and then pressing home, my wallpaper disappears for about 5 seconds, as well as the notification bar, which is gone for like 15 seconds. Also, sometimes the apps I am trying to swipe upwards to kill glitch out and do not close, the phone almost gets confused and mixes the applications up. Are these known bugs to all HOX+ users, or software issues with just my phone? My screen recently was cracked when it was knocked out of my hands by a stranger while I was removing the SIM (because I also had SIM issues with this phone, like many others on this forum) and ATT now all of a sudden says I have no warranty on it. I was wondering if anyone else had these issues I have been having with the HOX+ software so I know whether or not I should be able to be under full warranty, or if these are just general problems. ATT was of course of no help. They said my issues were not documented, and told me to go to a store because it would be under warranty but as soon as I said the word crack it was like talking to a wall. Geesh. Hope you guys can help, thanks!

Right, I don't think the source of the weird behaviour of your AT&T One X + is coming from the software as such, but from dropping it. Unless you have taken out an insurace to cover such accidents I would say you will be left with the costs yourself.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
A cracked screen will have touch sensor issues and will behave like you describe.
I have not looked up the SIM issue but on my international version I have no problems even when switching to an LTE SIM.

[Q] What flaws/issues should I check for tomorrow?

Picking up my S4 tomorrow, what common issues or flaws should I be looking for so I know whether or not I got a "lemon" that needs returning? Things like screen tint etc.
So apparently nothing?

[Q] HOX+ international screen flicker issues

Hi,
I bought my HOX+ inter device in June and within a month I had screen flicker issues. The screen would flicker around the edges and would become very prominent especially at more than 50% brightness and with lighter colours. The device was never rooted and so never had a custom ROM installed. HTC support suggested that I run the phone in safe mode, restore to factory settings and if that did not work take it to a repair center. I tried the first two options but as that did not work I took the device to a HTC repair center and after checking the device for a week they were kind enough to give me a replacement for which I was very grateful. The funny part is that the replacement set had exactly the same issue! I had just received the set and was on the way out of the store when I noticed the issue again. So now I've left it with them to see what can be done about it.
I have read that this very problem was an issue with the HTC one x but so far not so widespread with the HTC one x+. I have also read two or three guys mention this problem in the second thread in this sub-forum but they have not received any replies yet. I would like to ask if anybody else has faced similar issues and whether there are any permanent fixes. Thanks!
Update: I received the replacement HTC one x+ this evening and guess what, the flicker issue is present on this one too. The guy in the shop asked me to use the device till Monday as tomorrow being a Sunday its not a business day. Said he'll get me a refund on Monday. And since I haven't as of yet heard from any forum members how to resolve this issue, I guess that's exactly what I will do and even recommend to other people not to get HTC products in the future. One device may be faulty but three in a row surely means that the company is going downhill!

[Q] Camera fix 4.3

Hey guys, did anyone notice a positive change or fix on the AT&T HTC One's camera with today's update OTA 4.3??
I wanted to know so I won't go back to stock ROM for nothing,
I'm running CleanROM 6.0 with android 4.3 and Sense 5.
At least in this ROM there is no change in the camera,
but I still have hope that in today's update there is a change/fix.
There was no improvement for me at all.
My wife's phone did not have the issue, and I have even heard that some people who didnt have the issue before, now do.
I am curious as to what the actual remedy is. Some say hardware, others say firmware.
Id be more irritated about it if it affected anything other than low-light photos for me. But I am still quite pissed as my only option is to send it in to HTC and wait without a phone for a couple weeks. I should be able to walk into any AT&T store and swap it with a new device. A hardware defect is a hardware defect. AT&T should fix the issue in the store. The only people I know who dont have the issue, have a launch device.
