[Q] Question? - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I m interested in asphalt 8
I have downloaded it from android.mob.org
I have .apk and .obb
I have installed .apk
Now as per instruction I have to place .obb in
Android/obb folder
By doing this the game works but I have intentions of running it externally
So,
For moto e the internal is 2.2Gb (total rom is 4gb only 2.2gb is available as emulated or sdcard0)
The microsdcard inserted is taken as sdcard1
I tried placing obb in sdcard1/android/obb folder
But the game didt work (this step I have just tried )
The question is that the .obb file is nearly 1.5gb can I some how
Place it my 16gb sdcard and play it?

You can use mount2sd or link2sd but these options would need root support

[Q] How to install large games like Gta Vice City, Asphalt 7

Hey everyone
I am new to XDA and android.
I have HTC Desire SV with most of the features common with HTC desire x. just wanted to know i have around 1.11 GB of internal storage and 1.10 GB of phone storage.
Heavy applications like GTA vicecite have 13 mb of APK and then 900 mb of data. My doubt is will this data be stored in phone memory? or we can somehow shift it to external card. Also can anyone tell how to download and install such kind of games for free. i have data files and APK just wanted to know how to install in external SD card and not phone storage/internal storage.
I know it is a noob's question but please help

Thanks for replying. the problem is that after installing apps the folder is created in phone storage's android folder and not in external sd card. HTC phone storage is just 1.09 GB out of which only 725 MB is available to me right now and 400MB is already used (attached the screen shot) the data for these games is more than 900MB. what to do? :crying:
Please help or give a tutorial i am new to android.

Does no good without rooting the phone. Any other solution just to copy the game data to external sd without rooting
A2SD isn't good for this device, it's meant for devices with less than 500 MB internal storage.
Try to create folders Android/data on your sd and then to install a game and see what will happen.
Not happen.............
plZ Help Me
Your issue is the size of your external memory, 1gigabyte is no where near enough for the games you mentioned
And as suggested above create the needed folders android/data & android/obb
If you have sd card then the data is automatically downloaded to sdcard

I have nearly all of them hd games installed on my dx, all you gotta do is just place data in either android/data or /obb, & then install apk..
If you have a stock hTC rom on your DX , internal & external sdcards are swapped . That means the external SD card is mounted as the internal SD and you can safely place the game data on your external SD in Android/data or Android/obb (depending on the game ofc) and the game will run without any extra tweaks . I've tried NOVA 3 and it works without a problem .
However , if you have a custom rom that doesn't swap the storages , try using DirectoryBind . Never tried it on an hTC , but tried it on lots of Samsungs , LGs and Sonys and it works without a prob , so I don't see why it wouldn't work on our DX .
DirectoryBind is an app that can be used to mount folders from the external SD on the internal SD , to look as if the folders are actually situated on the internal memory . If you don't know how to use it , check out my tutorial over here .
how to put obb in sd card

[Q] obb folder

i found that there is folder in my internal storage called "obb". inside the folder there are Gameloft's games folders.
and the whole folder (obb) size is 5GB !
so i'm here to ask (and yes.. i've already used google): there is a way to move this folder to an ExSD card without damaging some games/data ?
btw: GL to SD does not allow me to transfer the files of my Gameloft games ... Only YouTube and Google music
DirectoryBind

[Help] how to move obb data to sd card

Dear friends
I am using LG Optimus L9 running on stock rom with unlocked bootloader and of course rooted, it is nice phone but the main problem is that it has only 2.3 gb of usable internal memory, I have partitioned my sd card and using link2sd for linking app to 2nd partition but I'm not able to move heavy obb files to sd card, games like GTA, Asphalt etc can't be played by me because they have heavy obb files
Some body told me use GL2SD to move them but I am not sure whether it will work or not
Please tell me is there any other way to move obb files to sd, if i had to use GL2SD then how it will work?

Moto E was launched by Flipkart in India only on 14th May, how can you use this for last 20 days ?
Regarding your querry, yes most of the application will be installed in internal memory. Please check from Settings > Device > Apps, whether the particular application shows "Move to SD card" option. I tried Tapatalk, can not be moved to SD card, but when I installed ES File explorer, I could move the application to SD card.

The data files placed in external sd card will not work, i can only run if u place data files in internal sd card...
And there are many third party apps like mount2sd, link2sd etc that make the data in external sd card but it requires root access!!
Foldermount from Play store does a good job in such cases of moving large obb game data to SD card.

Install - Mc4

I am using folder mount to transfer obb and data to SD.
Now i want to transfer mc4 obb file which is 1.91gb to SD but I can't install the game because my left space on internal storage is 1 GB.
How can I do it??

No problem.
Got it working.
Did this - created a blank obb folder for the game and used foldermount on the blank obb and transfered the obb file to sd card where the folder was linked by foldermount and its working.
