[Q] Gear Fit Reconnect after connection lost - Samsung Gear Fit

Hi,
I am running S3 (Omni ROM) and Gear Fit (1.55 manager and related firmware).
When I left the room without phone the connection gets lost. When I return it will not automatically re-established. Do you have an idea?
I had same issue with 1.50 manager.
On my last ROM (Samsung Stock) it was reconnecting without problems.

How did you manage it working on the s3 mini? I'm on 4.4, but gear fit manager always closing at the beginning...

You can use tasker to help fix this. There is a tutorial on here somewhere. Basically, set up tasker to automatically turn your BT off and back on again when ever the gear fit disconnects. Works great on my Nexus 5

is this possibile with other apps instead of tasker? tasker is not free..

You can do the same with llama, which is free.

Hi mooondark. Can you explain more about this? I tried with llama but it not work because I can only turn off the bluetooth and the bluetooth option is not show up to add as an other action. Thank you!

i did this :
ACTION 1: when gear fit disconnects put a variable =1 and deactivate bt
ACTION 2: when that variable ==1, activate bt and put variable to 0
it works

This is exactly what I I've done

i called the variable btoff like yours!!! ahahahha XD

Compatibility is lost with custom roms. Either reload a stock samsung rom or use Tasker like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769703
There are complaints that Tasker is a paid app. I bought it to handle this exact same work around. I then bought a Samsung phone so no longer needed the bt reconnect feature. However, if you seriously want your Gear Fit to work for you, Tasker can make it do almost anything.
I have my own security task that will lock the phone should it loose connection with my GF. I can also reboot my phone from the GF should it go wonky.
Well worth the money, if you're serious.

Thank you for the instruction.
I found another app call Trigger and it much more easier to use (and of course it free). If you just want to use an app to reconnect with Gear Fit so it's really ok.

Here you are:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwsoft.nfcactionlauncher

@alexxio and moondark
action1: variable 1 when GF has disconnected and BT off,
action 2: if variable=1 turn BT on, with this action do you turn BT on directly again., because variable is now 1
Is your BT really off if GF is away?

Action1: if GF Disconnects , set variable=1 and set bluetooth off
Action2: if variable=1, set bluetooth on and set variable=0
The way you wrote won't work because you put the bt off in the condition

Thanks, the cloud is a shortcut for weather widget. All of these watch faces are made in Gear Watch Designer using just the features provided in that program.

Hey, yes, it is possible. You need to make the watch face (for example in GWD) and then upload it on this page: seller.samsungapps.com/
You will need to set up an account fill a lot of stuff and upload the built watchface (.tpk) under binary section.
Since this thread is alive once again, I'll use this opportunity to show you the newer watch faces I made
I also tried to make a watchface. That works quite well so far. However, I do not find the weather widget in GearWatch Designer that was mentioned here. I would like to use that too. Someone a tip for me?

you need to make a button out of something. For example import image and then on then once you select it, click on the button in top right (three horizontal lines below the 'Always-On' button). Select 'Set as button'. Choose if you want it to activate on single or double-tap and the select the action- Weather
Thanks you, I already found that. Works well! The question was if there is something like an animated widget that changes depending on the weather. But that does not seem to be the case, right?

I just know that you can find speed under the "text" option. I read that there are supposed to be more options for GPS and gyro in the latest GWD update but I have not found out how to use them. Please let me know if you do find something out.

Have you been successful in using some of them? I managed to find a shortcut for the exercise app and apparently the timer app works as well but that's about it.
I believe the list is from the Gear 2. Not all of these are working on the Gear Fit 2. So far I've only used the timer.
If I find something new, I put it in here.
I use these a lot:

Stopwatch: com.samsung.stopwatch-band
Just found Brightness menu: com.samsung.clocksetting.brightness

Hi, I'd love to help but my skills are very limited. How did you manage to do this? Did you develop and SDK for Gear Fit? Great job
cant see any pics
Amazing work, I was wondering if it was possible to make a Watch - Tasker integration, like TaskS2, being able to control Tasker opens a world of possibilities. Unfortunately there aren't any app.
A tasker for gear Fit 2. Really good idea Like ti use wonderist on that could be really great.
Hi, any news on you progress with apps?
Where did you post these apps? Or Source?
Hi @mayaxcn !
I'm glad to see some are actually interested in that, I wonder why there are almost no app for the Gear Fit 2 ?!??
Actually there is something I'd like to develop because I couldn't find anything like this, although it's so useful : a (very) simple offline GPS Navigator.
I actually bought this smartwatch because I went cycling with a friend who had an expensive sport smartwatch, he uploaded the route on his watch and then was able to see directions (without any map) and stuff on his watch without having his phone !
EDIT : Oh sh*t I didn't notice this post was more than one year old

Notification access-Android System

Hi!
I noticed today, while configuring my Pebble on my new Honor 9, that, when entering "Notification access" menu, you can select "Android System". Why is that? Mine was unselected. Does anyone have this option or know why we should give Android System access to our notifications?
BTW, I'm having lots of trouble receiving notifications on my Pebble. Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have an Honor 9 and a Pebble Time and all works good, where do you have problems or errors?
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. I pair the Honor and the Pebble and it all works fine for some time until I stop receiving notifications on the Pebble. It isn't a Bluetooth issue, as the watch is still paired and sending Health info to the Pebble app on the Honor.
I think it's an issue related to the notification access, because if I unslect the access for Pebble and then select it again it works properly until it randomly stops showing notifications on the Pebble again.
Do you have any special configuration (I tried to ignore the battery optimization for Pebble app too)? And could you please check if you have the Notificatio Access selected for Android System?
Thanks a lot!
Weird mine works just fine...
It's configured like the pictures attached, hope it helps

Thanks for the picture The notification access menu is in Settings-Apps-Wheel (at the bottom)-Special Access-Notification access. I have Pebble checked and then "Android System" unchecked, and I don't know why.
I've tried everything but Pebble still acts weird and randomly stops showing notifications
This is what I have when accessing that Menu. Do you have it like this too? Thanks

That's weird, my Android System option was unchecked by default. Did you check it?

Thanks It worked great with a Nexus 4, Moto E and Nexus 5X. I think somehow when the phone is locked and inactive for some time (like 15 minutes) it loses the connection and I can only solve it by unchecking and checking the app notification permission for Pebble (it doesn't work just to turn off and on the Bluetooth or disconnecting and reconnecting the Pebble from the Pebble app). Thanks anyway for all your help
My Honor9 works fine with Pebble
Hi,
I have the same problem and tried several things like: reset pebble, re-pair Bluetooth but it still doesn't show any notifications. All settings seem right.
Any ideas?
Kind regards

After deleting one application that is so requested from me ... (See screenshot).
Of course I click this OK and it takes Google Play to download the same application that I deleted before ...
Maybe because Pace is not fully supported right now...
I don't see the point using it for now.
I am unable to disable 'notification on missed call' -- no matter what I do. Whenever I get a call regardless of I pick up or not, i will get a notification again on the watch that keeps vibrating unless I 'ignore'. This is often while I'm in the call. I've can't get it disabled -- anyone else have this issue?
Guys, if only notification is supported, why Tasker plugin doesn't work? Actually this was one of reason I decided to buy this watches and it was quite unexpected surprise. Is there some GitHub or something, where I can contact author and report this bug?

yeah, that it is... Taskr DOESN'T work. If I set some rule and use plugin of N&FfA and I run it, it does just nothing. Even "test" notification during set up doesn't work at all. Question Apps to schedule off and on

Since One UI 5.0, the feature "Schedule Restart" had been removed. Is there a schedule restart app that works in Samsung S23 Ultra phone and does not requires the phone to be rooted? Tried "Refresh - Auto Reboot, No Root" app and seems complicated to setup and couldn't get it to work.

Actually not much on restart, I want the phone to be schedule shutdown at for example 1am and power on at 7am which I been using the schedule off and on for my previous Mate and Xiaomi phones that came with this feature.
Edit: Change my thread title to "Apps to schedule off and on"

The question is not that, the good thing would be to be able to turn it on or off at the scheduled time for whatever reason, but as far as I know in the Samsung now you can not
I don't see the sense in having the phone start up: unless there is no security setting - which is not sensible - the phone actually won't start up until the phone is unlocked by the user...
