[Q] I just want a ROM that works 99% - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Running on a Xperia Go, and I'm getting tired of struggling with my phone, stock firmware was incredibly slow and bloated, FXP Cyanogenmod 9 worked most of the time, when it didn't freeze or just turn off my phone, but now they stopped development.
FREACK's Cyanogenmod 11 works beautifully and fast, when the Wifi or network connection isn't going down 3 times a day
This is not a ***** thread though, I realise and respect the amount of work it takes to port a ROM to an unsupported device. All I'm asking is for a ROM that is not going to let me down, no freezing, working camera and video, working data and network connection, working Wifi, that doesn't lag to hell, GPS, etc. Example, a ROM for daily use.
I just want some feedback, what works for you? I don't need the latest greatest Android port (thought that would be nice) and I don't have time to install and test a new ROM every 2 weeks.
And some of you may ask, what is the 1% I don't care about working? well FM Radio, what is this, the 1950s?
Many thanks in Advance.

Maybe that explains why FXP gave up, this sub is dead...

Hi dude,
You could use the AOSX rom developed by wanxp, that thread is active and almost all the features are working except fm radio, wifi direct and music a2dp, this is the rom that I use atm cuz I hardly use radio and wifi direct.. in fact I've never used those features -.- You could also try Munjenis CM11, but then again the bluetooth fails sometimes! Even though it says that it works properly in the OP. It doesn't. Frankly, the BEST LAG FREE rom that I've come across is the CM9.1 rom! Unfortunately its not available for download anymore -.- and I deleted my backup of it after I ragequit after my Xperia Go broke and I started using my Note -.- But I managed to fix it and I'd like to use CM9.1 again.. Can you please upload it for everyone or PM it to me??

Thank you SO SO much! Haha I see you've decided to stick with CM9! Great choice! I only say that this is the best rom ever is because it doesn't start to lag over time and everything works great(except for radio.. but you can always download an app!) and gaming is great with no lags(I usually test with Despicable Me and Most Wanted2)! So thank you very much!

Hi there,
I am using the galaxy task 14 ROM and its an awesome ROM!
Just one thing... has anyone had problems with Splashtop not working or working very slow when connecting from outside the LAN? Within it works great.. but for some reason outside connection is slow...
Hope anyone knows whats up!

Splashtop is slow outside the immediate network - i've used it with both ICS KANG and GalaxyTask 14 and the app performs the same way
I used the HD version of splashtop - not sure if the Non HD version might have better performance

In the task 14 rom thread.. first page..second post there are flashable zips to deatctivate the add blocker..just flash it without wiping anything.. then your set to go!

[ROM Preview] Want to maintain me? [PARANOIDANDROID][1.2c]

Hi, I have this ported to the fascinate and was wondering if anyone with some experience would like to maintain further updates to this.
So far I do believe everything is working (calls,sms,mms,bt,wifi,gps,etc..) and it has a lot of neat features that have not been seen before, including the new PAL!
I will upload and provide a fully working zip if anyone wishes to take this on. Again everything works that I know of.
Preview Release
This is a MTD ROM, so all MTD rules apply! (ie: no 3 finger & must already be on mtd)
Since I did not post this in the Devolopment section please feel free to discuss and/or help each other.
Not a complete list! Might be more!
Not Working:
Portable wifi hotspots (Wifi tethering) Bluetooth tethering works though!
Camera does not record video
Bugs:
Choppy video playback
I recommend giving it about 20 seconds before clicking Start!
Includes: Gapps,CarHome,ROMManager & Terminal
Launchers: Trebuchet & NovaLauncher
All Pre-Glitched via prebuilts for your pleasure....
There may be other things that I missed but seems mostly working!
Flasher assumes risk:
First flash: Wipe Data!
1.1 to 1.1a and vice versa: Wipe Dalvik-cache & cache!

umm... I suppose I could post a test link? My upload isn't the best but I'm gonna get some grub and let it upload. I'll check back in awhile and hopefully post a test link here in the OP.
Dev-Host hangs at 99, tried it twice! Trying a different place now but if it don't work it's my last attempt for the night quite possibly!
Upload worked so there is a link up...
Also again while uploading I noticed video playback wasn't working, so there may be something else I missed. I do have video playback fixed though!

Nice Work
This ported version of PARANOIDANDROID won't boot on my roomate's Fascinate but when I flash it with the version for the Vibrant, his Fascinate boots and it works. I also have to flash Icy Glitch Beta 6 kernel for Fascinate to get this ROM working. The only problem is no data or 3g when using this method. I have a Vibrant and this ROM is awesome on it.

Weird
I wonder what I could be doing wrong? I've done a complete wipe and even formatted system and data. I was able to get CM9 SKANKWICH 6/1/12 working with no issue and the Vibrant version of this ROM with ICY Glitch Beta 6 Kernal for Fascinate working. I haven't ran accross an issue like this before. When flashing this ROM on the Fascinate, the phone just boots right back into recovery for me. I had an issue with the phone and had to Oden it back to stock. I'm gonna give it another shot and see if I can get it working. Any tips or suggestions would be great. One thing I did notice was on both the Fascinate and Vibrant, is that when playing flash video in the browser, the browser becomes unresponsive when I select fullscreen. I tested multiple sites that use flash video and everything works great until fullscreen is selected. Youtube app of course works fine, even in full screen. Thanks for all of your help and this freakin' sweet ROM. You rule.

ICS Rom for multitasking.

Gents can you please recommend a ICS rom that has about 200 MB + of Ram memory available for user?
I heard that Polish blood meets my requirements but apparentlly there are some issues with it - problems with wifi, face recognition doesn't work etc.
I would love to try a few roms for myself but I don't have a phone yet, I will be buying it tomorrow morning and a few hours later I'm going for holiday, without access to a computer for the next week. So I would like to quickly pick up an ICS rom, personalize it to my liking to go on holiday with a fully working phone.
Would appreciate any help.

How many using CM10.1 by After_Silence

I can not post on the developer area so After_silence many thanks for your great work!
How many mediapad users using CM? After_silence has told that there are too few users out there using media pad, so he is no longer interested in developing for media pad. how many are we? I myself would love to continue using his excellent CM 10.1 and was eagerly waiting for BT to work on mediapad .

Hey I'm using S7303u and cm10.1 works fine, I'm currently working on porting AC!D MOD for all enhanced audio, beats, xloud and clear+, bravia2 to run on media pad, its almost ready just running into storage issues in the system partition, not enough room to fully flash my zip, libs and framework not flashing, causing boot loop, broke zip into two desperate zips, you can install one or the other, works fine, but I need all mods together with settings to manipulate sound. I hope his break isn't two long was really looking forward to new builds, guess I'll try and get Bluetooth working for now
here... also using CM10... tried the CM10.1 for testing... and it is okay... but i am using BT and HOTSPOT so i return back to CM10... also can't reply to the CM10 thread...
so maybe after_silence thought there were only few of us using his FIRMWARE... but if the 10 post LIMIT is not there... he would receive a lot of response... and user feedback...

Where to get the ROM's
Hey guys,
I'm currently running the Stock Springboard + ROOT and loving it. Theres only one problem though: if i fill up my 32GB SD card with music, the machine slow to a halt. I believe this is an OS issue. Does anyone know if the new ROM's take care of this issue? Bluetooth is important to me. I'd prefer everything working: HDMI, 4G, BT & hotspot. Can someone give me some advice and where to get the ROM's and which ones to get?

btw I wouldn't recommend it, I was trying it and it's preatty buggy and outdated. It doesn't have fm radio and it's using only bottom microphone for video recording (stock 6.0 uses both mics so there is stereo effect). It also doesn't support any new custom kernels because it wasn't updated for ages. The worst thing is that it slows down a lot after few days and you need to reboot. On stock 6.0 with squid kernel the performance drop wasn't that big, I was using it for 30 days without reboot and it was still pretty good.

I don't have any of those problems, except for msybe fm radio but I don't give a crap about that. But, I can flash squid kernel & I don't get performance drops often. So it's literally bug free for me. Maybe you should try flashing it again. After all, bad flashes happen.

My apologies you guys for not getting back earlier. I've been fumigating for bugs.
Those issues you were describing are the exact issues I'm dealing with today on my current ROM a popular CM based true to form option-heavy, stability-light ROM. This is a shame as its been fairly reliable platform for me. The occasional issue that was easily remedied with a reboot, a restore or a reflash. The past few months have been bug after bug for me. Mostly a pesky incompatibility issue with my ROM and OpenGapps.
Its seems all I've been doing lately is testing alternative gapp pkg sources, kernels and mods.
What makes this issue the real tops though is that the ROM I use was just listed as "Official" and "Stable" last month. There may be a weekly update waiting in the basket for me but the basket build server is down.
So....?
Not sure where to go from here. I'll tell you this much though. When I decided to try and root this device 8 months ago I had no idea it involved so much. I can almost write my own svripts, I'm understanding the bugreports I generate and read and i haven't spent this much time in a ToyBox since I was 9.
Lol. I'm not complaining though... I love to learn.
Oh and I still haven't tried the ROM you recommended as of yet. PC seems buggy now too.
