Looks nice. Some sites already have the case up for pre order (mobilefun.co.uk) and it looks like the case will cost around £70 which is ridiculously expensive imo.

Its far too expensive at £70, I think it would still be.expesive at half that price, so cant see many selling unless they rethink the price.
I could make one using the original sony flip cover and a qi coil off eBay for less than £20

Just saw on a chinese forum that a case/stand is being sold in China that's designed for the TF. The cost over there is 88yuan.. approx $13-14 USD. It looks sturdier then the official one. I hope it'll get listed on ebay soon!
I'm really hating these cheap "leather" cases I'm seeing for tablets. Its mainly the huge "frame" around the screen that I'm not liking.

I get what you mean and I am all for a < $20 solution, but I also dont want something that is going to add 50% more weight/size to the tablet. Plus a lot of the "leather" ones that I have seen are the very cheap type of "leather" that is more "plasticy" and will fall apart fast. This is not my experience with this exact product, just with other products like it. Its just disappointing that there isnt better cases available for the transformer yet. Its really to bad we dont have a "smart cover" type option like the ipad has. That is pretty slick and I am definitely not a apple fan.
I'd buy this for $20 in a heartbeat.

no luck...as there is no magnet built in the TF that links to the power circuit like IPad2...so will never happen perhaps that next TF model maybe....if want to pay premium...wait for PDair or Tuff Luv....genuine leather with good quality....coming soon end of May

There might be possibility using the slots for the clip that support the keyboard dock. Something that clips into there and covers the tops/folds. Maybe the magnets are in the cover if there is enough metal in the surround of the TF.

Unless you want to pay £60+ for the genuine case then for me is the only decent case for the XZ Tablet.
The Poetic StrapBack case was £35 now its £10. Its a nice premium case for end of line money. If you like to take
your tablet out of its case a lot then this is not for you as its fiddly to get out but its a great case.
I only bought a simple and (in "she who must be obeyed"'s words) "butt ugly" neoprene case just to store when travelling.
Otherwise, I like the tablet caseless. We bought an incredibly light tablet and then make it heavier by slapping a case on it. Doesn't make sense to me.
I was talking to a bloke at Roxfit. They do some nice cases for Sony but they don't have the £60-80 price tag. Still not that cheap at £30 but they do look good quality.
The plain black are due in any time so I'm going to wait. Don't like any of the other ones.

Mugen looks too thick. I just got my CP12 and love it, although it does make the XZU look more like a tablet or paperback book size wise, pick your choice. Best if you get it on sale as it is right now on Sony's website.

Agree about the CP12. It does make it seem too much like a Nexus 7 sized tablet. I thinking about putting mine up for sale and getting this Mugen one or the Brando.

I'd love to see the Brando and Mugen cases in person and compare them to my CP12.
has anyone buy the SCR10 from ebay? price vary from $12 to $25. I am pretty sure those $15 one is fake. Also, there are two versions of the official case, one has chrom logo with clear plastic package, the other just printed logo with paper package features Brazil WC.

I have both cases. the one with chrome is crap. fell apart after a week and a half. pretty sure it's fake.
i am pretty sure the $15 ish case is fake. check this out. sony does not have so many color choices.

Got mine today for £13.50 postage paid. If its fake then its a very good one!
I doubt it makes much difference as the Sony original is absolutely awful and grossly overpriced. I bought one from Amazon and sent it back by return of post. VERY rare do I need to do that. There are several flaws with the case not to mention its lack of magnet closing and if its dropped the front flap opens. If you are quick and mange to catch the flap before the phone hits the floor the phone itself wold become detached from the case and still hit the floor.
I am afraid Sony dropped the ball with this case and the price. Same with the Smart bad replacement bands, half the price of the complete band with sensor itself? I fall out with Sony over their policies regarding accessories. Some of them are either poorly thought out, poorly made and cost the earth.

Upgrading to a Sony Xperia z3 I bought on swappa, listed as mint condition but doesn't have accessories. (Coming from htc sensation & Samsung galaxy II- current). Should I use Sony brand accessories for charging, headphones and the like? I also need something to protect it from myself (just call me butter fingers) and onry terrorist toddler. I don't know anything about Qi or the magnetic cable charging technology or what to look for and steer away from. I need a case and screen protector I'm assuming? All the help I can get I would appreciate. Also, do you think I can/should pay for the monthly protection TMo offers? I really need this phone to last awhile.

I found that glass on display is quite enough, so dont use any screen protector. For charging I use the standard Sony charger and also Sony WCR14 case that have Qi wireless charging. Protects phone and dont have to mesd with cable and always open USB flap. As for headphones I found the included ones quite good and for outside I have wireless bluetooth ones with Bluetooth 4.0 from Philips. Super useful for travel is Xiaomi battery pack with 16000 mAh capacity, supports chargin at 2A.

So my concern is, if I drop it without a screen protector / case, then is Sony's glass going to hold up?

NO WAY... The glass is super against scratches and greasy fingers (just use glass cleaner to wipe) but should you drop your phone its likely it will break. Seen some half dead Xperias already. The back is also glassy.
The protection case, at best with rigid frame, is absolute must.

I have a black leather flip style case for my Z3. My gf bought it from a local market stall a while back, and its fantastic. It also has slots on the inside of the front cover for credit cards etc.
A little late but
the orange store south africa sells the wireless charging kit for under 300rand which translates to $20. So far while it is a little awkward to use the phone at times i love it. At night I charge with the case open 44degrees c yesterday. I would recommend it!
