[Q] No audio output in my SGSIII - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I've got this problem that my SGSIII does not have any audio output from jack. At first it seemed like the jack port is broken so I replaced it. Nothing changed, stil not working. When the jack is plugged it seems that it doesnt even detect headphones ( the headphones icon does not show on status bar). However the volume control and play/pause button provided on headphones are working perfectly. Tried with original samsung headphones and couple more, any of them were working. The speaker does work. I'm using Archidroid ROM and Boeffla kernel. Any ideas?

[Q] Making Apple optimized headset mic work on Android?

Hi,
I just got my pair of UE600vi earbuds with a mic and in-line controller.
Everything works as expected (so no volume control), but what I didn't expect was that the built-in mic doesn't seem to work properly. When the cable is plugged in properly I get audio in a call, but the person on the other side of the line says he can't hear anything.. However, if I take the plug out a bit so that one black ring is out of the plug the mic seems to work,(probably because the mic is disabled and it uses the phone mic..) but I only get audio to one earbud.
I contacted Logitech which said that they can do nothing and that it's Android's problem.. However some people say that they've had no problems with apple-optimized headsets apart from the volume buttons.
Is there a way to force compatibility?

Same here, I've got a great sounding AKG K328 headset on an Asus Fonepad (Android 4.1.2). Everything is working fine, I can assign actions to the middle button, I can use the button to answer a call, but the microphone is not working at all
Judging from the symbol in the Status bar, the headset is only recognized as a headphone (without mic). The mic is working on an iphone, though.
Any ideas?

[Q] Use Bluetooth AVRCP Remote for control only - sound from 3.5mm jack

Hi,
I have a MW600 bluetooth headset... I would like to be able to use this for control / display but to have my sound come from the 3.5mm jack. Any ideas on how i could accomplish this?

Can't believe it... it turns out that the SIII does this (at least on Omega Rom V6 with Franco kernel). Once I have a wired headphones plugged in the sound comes from there but I still have my MW600 display and control!
Edit: Just checked with my I9000, it definitely doesn't work with that.

smartphone not recognizing headphone jack

PROBLEM:
Essentially my phone has stopped recognising when headphones have been plugged in, but the headphone port isn't broken since it plays audio through both the speakers and the headphones at the same time. I recognize that this might be a hardware problem, so I'm just looking for a temporary fix. Ideally a small app that allows me to toggle where the sound is played through.
SPECS:
Rooted android 4.4
Cubot s308
ALREADY TRIED:
Checked headphone port for dust/debris using a light, wiggled inside with a cotton bud and so on
Tried a few apps, notably 'sound about' which doesn't actually change anything
Other headsets - all I have tried have the same issue, so its not a headset issue
All other posts I can find are where the headphone out is permanently on, or where the port just doesn't work, so any help would be apreciated.

V521 Lineage OS - Audio Issue - Line Out gives no audio, but headphones work fine.

Hello,
I've got an LG V521 running lineage 14.1 nightlies. The problem i'm having is that when I plug it headphones, it works fine (shows the little headphone symbol and AudioFX sees it as headphones). When I plug it into my computer mixer aux-in - it doesnt output audio. AudioFX sees it as "line out" and it has a headphone symbol. Ive tried turning audio FX off and on, and tried all the normal things but I cant get any audio out of it. Sometimes, however, if I slowly insert the jack just right it will be seen as "headset" and the icon will have a little microphone on it, and it will work just fine!
Is this a bug or is there a setting i'm missing somewhere? Has anybody experienced this or know of a fix/workaround? Is there any way for it to just output as if it were headphones? I'm assuming its some sort of impedence sensing response.
Thanks.
yeah i think it is a bug i try it with my device and i am having the same issue
