[ZIP] Adreno GPU Driver Update: 7aug - G Pad 8.3 Android Development

After looking into my Nexus 4 and LG G Pad 8.3 (v500) i found out they use same binaries.
Credits to @xboxfanj
Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/qualcomm-adreno-gpu-binaries-t2667759
There have been new Qualcomm GPU binaries released on their developer site here: https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobi...eno/mobile-gaming-graphics-optimization-tools
Download:https://www.dropbox.com/s/2misws4vp0bjjnc/UPDATE-adreno-drivers-n4&n7-may-30.zip Thanks to Medel-Silver and barome for adding F2FS support to the updater-script.
Note: This is identical to Qualcomm's zip; I just extracted it so you can download and flash. Props to Qualcomm for taking my suggestion to unify the mako and flo binaries so they work on all Nexii.
Revert to KOT49H (newest 4.4.2 stock) http://d-h.st/KHN
Shout out to DeesTroy and TeamWin; Qualcomm uses TWRP in the documentation
I noticed a slight smoothness and benchmark improvement, but your mileage may vary. Let me know how this goes for you.
These updated binaries should work on any ROM. No wipe necessary.

Link to developer site is broken.
Can you please expand on why these might want to be replaced? And what benefit s would be had from flashing these? Also, any danger? Thank you!

Gave link to original thread and quoted from it. There you can find the dev link. Will fix when i am on a pc
You can a geht performance increase in 3d applications as these drivers are far more optimized but it could also get you a bootloop depending in Rom and device
Its working flawless for me

I get excelent results on Antutu, but more important, the device feels smoother now
PD: Sorry for the size of the picture!! How can I change it? I uploaded it from Tapatalk mobile app

well if your device uses adreno 3xx as gpu this zip should work
just check where the binaries are located and try replacing them by hand if they are located somewhere else than in the zip
but only do this if you are brave enough
this zip should also work on the vk810 since its using adreno 320 gpu

I'm pretty sure these were the ones I used on the M8 also. I'm curious if they will work on the G2.

Thanks!! Just put these on my G2 (locations are definitely different) so I'll see how they work. I'll probably back up my G-Pad and update it tonight..

Please, this update works to me ?
My info system says: Adreno 320. Can i flash this update ?
ROM Stock 50020b, root, twrp 2.7.1.
Thanks for attention.

The June update definitely feels more fluid than May's. Thank you for the heads up!

Tried installing these manually on my Verizon gpad and the first one I transferred over made the tablet freeze up. I had to manually reboot but it wouldn't boot past the LG logo. I tried just installing the zip in twrp but it still wouldn't boot. I had to restore from a backup.

use a root explorer and look up the location of the binaries and see if they fit the schema of the zip
make a backup and flash the zip
if you get a bootloop restore the backup

make a backup
look up the location of the binaries on your gpad and compare them with the zip
download the zip again and try flashing it if they fit
it should work cause they dont have anything missing or different. they are just more optimized

^^^Ditto, mine froze after flash and stuck at LG screen. I had to restore from backup. Rom is a 4.2.2 and TWRP was 2.6.3 wonder if that has anything to do with it. Anyway I had to restore from backup as well.
EDIT: Oh I almost forgot I was on the stock LG gpad not Verizon and not GPE either.

The driver are made for Android 4.4.2. High Chance that they work with 4.4.3 and 4.4.4
But its not likely that they work with 4.2.2

[RECOVERY] Patched TWRP recovery with adb working **UPDATE 10/4/14

As always, you are responsible for your phone, and its warranty
I built this recovery because adb was not working in the official. I have submitted all my changes and I am sure this will be fixed shortly but until then I will put this here. Bassically I compiled the stock ND2 kernel with some small modifications and rebuilt the recovery.img with that. everything else should be exactly the same but honestly I did not test everything so please feel free to let me know.
***UPDATE 10/4/14***
Created version thats branded as kltespr, did this so CM11 is now able to auto update without modifying the CM package. Also, ADB still works. If anybody knows how to reduce the size of this image, please let me know since it is a little larger than the stock TWRP. Also built an image from the 2.8.0.1 base, which seems to have the same kernel from my original build to enable ADB, all I added here was the mod to kltespr so CM can update.
Use dd to install these images:
Newest Link 10/4/2014, working ADB and branded as kltespr so CM11 auto updates work:
Working ADB and tagged kltespr so CM11 auto updates work
Same as above but built from version 2.8.0.1 of TWRP
---Below here are all klte with working ADB, but CM11 fails to auto update complaining of wrong device---
Here is the link:
miked63017-openrecovery-twrp.img
Or try to grab it from my drive:

I like TWRP, but this is another option http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706253 . Honestly the only reason I prefer TWRP is probably because I've never used Philz, but I do hear good things about it.

I have used all 3 available customer recoveries (TWRP, CWM, Philz) & I prefer TWRP. So me is easier and fool-proof.
Just saw this now, hope it can help with my mount/odex issues. Didnt have adb via recovery as an option before, looking forward to trying this. Thx mike

My commits up there now wont help with that, I didnt push my defconfig.
You can easily change the compression and logging (less of a size diff) in either the defconfig in .../configs or through
$ menuconfig
prior to build

Thanks, I went with TWRP since that's what I'm familiar with.
Just DL'd, says it's a Winzip file but my WinZip won't extract it.
Is it meant to be a .tar or Zip file?

Its a flashable zip. I never use winzip so I'm not sure if it should be able to be extracted with it. I think its technically a 7zip zip file in windows, linux I just run 'unzip $FILENAME'. The google drive link is probably the most reliable, maybe try that one if you haven't already. If there are still problems I can re-upload, just let me know.

**UPDATE**
I take that back I only uploaded the recovery.img, I flash it with dd after putting it in /sdcard/
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/miked63017-openrecovery-twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
Or if you just want to see whats in it, you can extract it like a normal boot.img.
Will try to put up a zip and/or tar tomorrow, honestly I thought they would have had an official one with adb working by now.
Flashify
Just use Flashify to push .img to your phone.
Ok with patched twrp I get this after flashing rom
Goes to boot into android, and keeps throwing up "unfortunately, SAE has stopped"
I belive that to be binary problem, is this correct and how to solve

last I tried multi-window (on another device), i believe each "side" of the split-screen is "standalone"
(i.e. you have google maps on the left side of the screen, gmail on right. If you try to click on a hyperlink on google maps, chrome (or whatever your default browser is) will open up on the left replacing google maps)
wonder if it's possible to open chrome up on the right, so you get "better" multi-window/multi-tasking because your original app and "newly launched" apps are running side by side

i don't own a LG G Pad
as long as you already have a custom recovery installed (which requires initial root), and have a nandroid backup on the device itself AND on your computer, you should be fine
ask the other people who've already flashed it
I'm using almost the same device tree from CM11 (only need to convert the CM file structure-> omni file structure, no other changes), so there shouldn't be any unexpected surprises when you flash the ROM

Omni devs recommend Chainfire SuperSU
I stupidly did not flash St along with the multi window version and gapps. Now I can't get SU to work from the playstore. It says it needs to update binary but fails when it tries. I assume I need to flash the SU zip from my twrp recovery?
Anyone know how to get into recovery without root access? I was using a app that only works with root.

One thing I'm wondering. Is really flashing supersu through twrp sufficient to gain root? I've only hooked up my devices to run batch scripts in order to gain root so the idea of gaining root merely through flashing a zip is new to me.

TWRP should also warn you when you reboot TWRP after flashing a ROM without SuperSU...
Flashing the root update.zip will gain root.... TWRP/adb/fastboot is a lot easier than running batch scripts that use exploits (unless you are stock without TWRP, and you need exploit like Towelroot to intially root)

No idea, it's hard to say since they roll it out in waves

Definitely feels snappier, noticed custom DPI change made it in there and a Mozilla browser too.

Yes they pulled it but I can't find a reason.
Has anyone flashed and really put it through the paces? If so can we get some feedback about how its running and what the bugs are. Someone anyone? Tia!
Really changes? I downloaded official full ROM and flashed with twrp with no problems and rooted automatically by twrp.

If you were able to do that then you don't need to flash this. Twrp wouldn't flash it for me so I used the assert lines from a cm12.1 nightly, and then added the superSU flashing

So anyone that is running this Rom noticed any bugs? Anything not working right? Anything new compared to cm12.1? Any comments on how its running? Any info would help since CM has pulled it I was wondering what the issue was to make them take it off the rollout.

Have any of you managed to get viper4android running after this hotfix patch? It ran beautifully up to 2.1.2 but the 2.1.3 (005) update broke it for me so I reverted. Rooted with TWRP and SU, PlayerPro and Spotify.

I managed to get it working by flashing Lolliviper from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/discussion-viper4android-t2543796
At the end of the OP there's a link to LolliviperROUND which uses the external speaker for stereo audio however I haven't tried that out yet. For the standard V4A, just flash Lolliviper.zip from recovery or through Flashify and reboot. The V4A app will be in the app drawer and you just proceed as usual
Hit the thanks button if I helped! :fingers-crossed:

Are you sure this works on the 2.1.3 Ota?
Is there any "out of the box" way to downgrade it to 2.1.2? swiftkey keyboard seems laggy/sluttery in some way for me with the latest version 2.1.3. Have any of you noticed the same?

Yes, you need to be rooted to flash v4a I suggest the kingroot then replace with supersu method.. barely took 5 minutes
Honestly speaking.. do not see a difference.. :v
Would love cyanogen for this one.. also will it give a feature to disable the quick settings?
When ever i want to flash the update its says failed to flash?am currently running 2.1.2 stock...what to do?and also how do i check if the update is available as ota?cause i did not get any notification. Thanks

The same was happening with me. I installed blueaparks twrp and it worked like charm. Install that twrp. Install 2.1.3 full rom. Then flash 2.1.3-x on it. Should work.

Running O2OS 2.1.3-X
Once rooted you can change or customize almost anything on the device

First V4A not O2OS compatible, and Second KOR never recommended, moreover u need custom recovery for V4A Flash
The normal method would also take just 5 minutes once files are downloaded and drivers installed.

No lags on 2.1.3-X and is the best update till now. There are modules for disabling quick settings if you are rooted
