Good find, lets hope its true
Will not be amused if this is available a week after I get the blue one.
come on guys, this is just a site that does 3d animations for phones. Did you really think that samsung would not have announced a black version?

Neither will I However I think the listing could well be a mistake colour-wise. When I was looking at pre-orders, there were a couple of places that had white or black listed as colour options, but later corrected to white or blue. I think the blue should be dark enough in real life to pass as nearly black anyway.

Looks like the blue version to me.
Looks blue to me too
looks like blues clues to me i dont know about black..you know that fruit company might sue again
Also they don't even list the blue, which is a bit strange.
I'm calling BS
According to Eldar Murtazin, later it will be available in black too.

"Initially only two colors will be available - Marble White and Pebble Blue. Later on the lineup will be expanded and we will get a black phone among others."

Probably the crappy US Carrier versions.
Eldar Murtazin told me on twitter that the black version will be available for Christmas. Well, i want it so much, but i'm not going to wait :|
I have always had a black phone so ive decided this time it's gonan be different,i want the marble white SGS3 but the blue one looks really nice as well i just cant make up my mind.
Seems immeasurably stupid not to include a black version at launch. It harks back to the days of kids running around with bright red Nokia Xpress-on covers and potentially alienates a large portion of the market who want a sleek, back, professional looking phone - not a teenager's fashion accessory.
The inclusion of things like S-Voice are the kinds of things that look great in a shop but you end up never using in practice. For the same reason it boggles the mind why Samsung didn't give the option of a black version; part of the reason AMOLED screens look so impressive is the near seamless transition between black on-screen and a black bezel, made possible by AMOLED's superior contrast.
I had a very reaction when i saw the white and blue versions at the presentation. I hate white phones and thought the blue looked horribly cheap. Ive now seen a blue one in the flesh and its nothing like as bad as i feared. Its actually quite smart looking.
Many of the images of it make it look a lot lighter than it actually is. The front looks black in most lights an the pattern on the back is almost like metal.
I would still prefer a black phone though.
its the blue one!

Black level in S3 compared to S2

Anyone noticed that S3 when used with a black wallpaper, its not totally black? Seems that the backlight is still on for blacks compared to S2 which is totally black.
S3 seems kinda grey with black...almost LCD like kinda black.
Do have a try in a dark room. I was surprised. Maybe you too
Will be interested to try this, that slightly greyish hue to blacks was one of the things I disliked about the Nexus screen.
....
I'll be happy with my screen...because it is beautiful and big.... sorry you guys need to find every reason to b*tch about an amazing phone ... I don't examine my phones screen while it shows complete white or black screens in the dark ... I use it and watch people marvel at it.
No one ever says to me, "that has a yellow tint to it from here"
Why do u guys constantly find things wrong with phones.. at this rate you'll never be happy.
Keep it Classy, Cali.

It's called being critical. There are a number of things I dislike about my One X. No phone is perfect and if we're not critical and express our dislikes, chances are HTC/Samsung may not fix them with software updates/newer models.
I'm more interested in the potential black clipping issues like on the Galaxy Note. That was unacceptable.

Amoleds don't have a backlight. Has Samsung toned down the black levels to alleviate black crush and clipping issues?

The true test is to turn off the lights and pull up your contact list. The background should be as black as night. If it is, then your wallpaper isn't really black -- find a better one.

same wallpaper dude. in fact, that is a transparent png. side by side comparison is that there is some sort of backlight in s3. s2 is completely black. Like I previously mentioned, its in a dark room.

can only test it after im home tonight.
just checking if anyone have the same experience.
Both my galaxy s and my s 2 never goes completely black if I watch them in complete darkness. Even when the phone is shutting down and doesn't display anything at all. And strangely enough they emit around the same brightness level. As the phones turn of completely, the hue disappears. Even black areas are being powered and I think it's by design. Or maybe slight component variations.

My screen is flawed when completely black. There are some spots that does not work at all. Like there is ink dropped on the screen.
Anyone else has this?

Ok, thanks for that. My screen is most probably broken then although emahmood87 said that it could be a "feature".
I think that black level is not that great in SGS3 when used in dark room. TBH SGS1 had better blacks.

Hmm, thats +1 to my claim. Had S1 also. No problem with blacks. TBH, you cant really tell when there is light for normal usage. Just that when watch video, you notice gray instead of the usual expected black.

Do the following and u will see the blotches or black ink drops.
I posted this on the sgs 3 in pakistan thread and one person confirmed the issue :
"Download Paint Pro its free and open a black background which covers whole the screen and then go in a dark room.... Can u tell me if there are any black blotches on screen example the screen will be in two tones of black or is it perfect black... this was an issue with two sgs2 which i had and also with galaxy nexus... The resaon its an issue because when u r browsing the web say late at night with screen filter enabled u can actually see the black blotches...."
Secondly the issue was only in sgs 2, note and galaxy nexus...have owned all these mobile.. its not really a big issue just was annoying sometimes... sgs 1 had no such issue

Black or White?

Hey so probably getting this phone Wednesday or Thursday since I don't really the feel the need to spend 600€ on a s3. So pretty much the only question I have is which color you guys prefer this phone in? Personally I kinda like them both so can't decide

I prefer black on the GS II but conversely if I was getting a new handset I'd get a white S III over anything else available right now.

I have white, but black is better 'cause it makes the screen look better + black is just cool pink is also pretty hardcore but you weren't asking about pink so black it is!
The white and black Galaxy S 2 are identical in terms of which carriers they work on, which storage capacities they come in, and nearly every physical detail other than color (the white one has some slight cosmetic differences to let the light sensor work)
TV sets usually come in black for a reason -- when you're watching a show or a movie, or playing a game, you want the TV set to disappear, so you can enjoy what you're doing without noticing a big colored rim around it.
The same goes for phones. Some people find having a white faceplate very distracting when they're watching videos or gaming, and others just don't like the contrast between the white border and the black screen when the device is off. It's very "panda".
Others aren't bothered by a white border at all and really like the two-tone look of the phone when its off.
While the white Galaxy S2 has only been on the market about half as long as the black Galaxy S2, there haven't been any widespread accounts of discoloration.
It will probably take another year to convince everyone that white holds its color fine, but if it's something that concerns you a lot, you might want to stick with black.
Some people just love the look of a white phone. They often get shipped later or come in more limited quantities so there's an air of exclusivity about them. Whatever.
At the end of the day, you need to buy what you like. White tends to stand out more and can be more obvious with brightly colored cases. Is that something that appeals to you?
If you want to be subdued and not so wicked obvious about your phone, you might want to stick with black.
At the end of the day, the only real answer is get the color you like better. Everything else is manufactured anxiety at this point. Just close your eyes, picture your Galaxy S2 in your hand, and carefully look at what color you're picturing.
Then buy that.
Here's a video of white & black Galaxy S2 comparison

I felt that the gold reflects too much light. It's like holding a mirror and that's distracting. If you're in a dimly lit environment, it seems alright.

Question Is the pixel 6's dotted animation normal?

As the title said is this normal, I'm really not familiar with how pixel handles animation but refer to the video attached, this is also happening inside the settings when I tap something from there. Thanks! this is my 2nd Pixel Device and I don't know if it's really made like that or just an android 12 thing I just want to be sure. Thank you!

Lol, just the new charge animation. Very normal. I'm glad I got here first.

Thanks for the response that's what I thought first haha that it's a bug from A12 then a new update came it's still there my 2nd thought that it's the fault of my oled panel but knowing it's normal, I can finally find peace hahaha. Pixel devices are not really available here in my country so warranty is very limited that's why I'm really keen on finding something bad about my unit so that It can get replace quickly before the personal warranty given expires but so far my unit is flawless and the worst case I thought as a problem is this animation
You will see several other flaws with the screen but this is also normal unfortunately.. Like a rainbow effect on the white colors depending on the viewing angle, and a green tint on the grays..
This Oled panel is not that good tbh, it's better on the pro version
