- Do a factory reset, it is recommended after software upgrade or downgrade
- switch to custom kernel if the problem persists
Good luck

yes
Yes, on ICS the battery drain was very fast while using wifi or screen on sometimes it drained 1% in 1 sec so in 10 mins 10%.
I am currently on stock gingerbread rom (rooted)
I few minutes back installed one live wall paper and noticed that screen use to come up after few seconds. After uninstall the same screen has not come up.
But still i can see awake 3m (188 secs) 16.1%.
thanks

Speedmod kernel, make sure you are flashing the gingerbread version.
Flashing an ICS kernel will result into bootloops
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
i would like to recommend u to use stock kernel
and make sure to do a full wipe also format / system before flashing
a stock rom (untouched) and check ur battery if drain fast... then u should replace it ...
Too bad you are running GB. I am on JB with Siyah Kernel 4.0.1 and it works fine running around 16to 26hours using as a normal phone

this is due to the fact that your battery reading is still inaccurate, the fuel gauge is trying to settle down/calibrate your battery.
Ps: if you can reupgrade back to ICS, I'm sure I'll be able to narrow down and fix your battery drain issue

since you presently have root access, you can just flash a custom stock based Rom, with less bugs all the way.
It's faster and safer than using kies or whatever they call it

Sgs2 camera flash problem!

Ok, so ive had a couple of problems with my recently bought Sgs2, ive got all the other problems fixed except this one: when i turn on the camera app, the flash goes on and off once, the same happens when i turn off the camera. Its a very fast flash that occurs.. it doesnt matter what camera app i use, it does it everytime.. the flash does work properly during camera use if needed, and works normally as a torch.
It doesnt bother me much, but would be nice to get fixed..
Any ideas?
If your using a custom jb rom then it's normal. It's a known bug.

Im using SlimICS 4.2+ Siyah 5.0.1
So he said.... That if You using not stock rom flash bug be...
Looks like he said: if its a custom JB rom, the bug occurs. Im using ICS and the same thing happened before i even flashed a custom rom. The phone was running a stock Samsung GB rom then..
"He" has a name
And if u said it happened before flashing roms, Then it must be a hardware issue.

I have the same problem, that the flash will light up shortly when the camera app closed, and when I read the last comments it seems that this is a known issue for quite a while.
How does it come that this is not fixed yet. I'm using custom roms now for a few month now and from the beginning I was wondering about the strange flash behaviour compared to the stock rom.
Is it because there is still no official release from Samsung for JB or why is it so difficult to fix? Are the camera drivers closed source?

Guys, it has got nothing to do with the hardware, its a random one that happens with all ICS and JB based custom roms
@Sun90
If you read the whole thread , i had the problem before custom roms with a 100% stock Samsung GingerBread rom..

have u tried flashing a Stock ICS rom (v4.0.3) and seen for the issue
if not give it a try and see, just to confirm whether its really a hardware issue or a software one
nothing to loose though, if the problem gets resolved for u it would be fine right
do a clean wipe before installing.

I used to get that on my x10i with certain roms.Definitely a software problem.
Same issue here, came about randomly day before yesterday. LED flashes once, quickly, whenever something tries to activate it.
Only ever used stock soft/firmware, and Chainfire's kernel. Cleared all caches, tried factory reset, problem persisted.
Flashed to whatever the latest ICS is for H3G today, problem still persists, I shall try official kernel tomorrow, see if that fixes it -- I don't hold much hope.

[Q] Can upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 break the camera?

Hello
Might be a silly question. I have a i9300. I used to run stock rooted and the camera used to work fine (a couple of times I had the" cannot connect to camera" issue but it resolved itself). I then upgraded to 4.2.2 Pardus HD rom (variation of samsung stock to preserve the camera compatibility versus aosp) and my camera would not work. It would say "cannot connect to camera". I flashed 4.1.2 stock using Odin(for my country) and the camera still had the same problem. Once I gave it to the service center, they said the camera needs to be replaced i.e. hardware issue.(its cheap so getting that done).
So my question is that could it be possible that upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 caused a bug in the camera firmware(I read you can manually change that) which caused it to fail? Or is it really a hardware problem? Because then I wont update to 4.2.2 again and stick with a 4.1.2 ROM
P.S. Idk if it matters but I live in Pakistan and the latest software update we have had here officially is 4.1.2
P.P.S. I never had camera problems before (software or hardware) till I started using a sandisk 32gb sd card. That could not be the issue can it?
Thank you in advance for any help!
As its not completely stable you should avoid upgrading as per my perspective.Dont know others suggestions

But the 4.2.2 ROMs are more or less stable (like OMEGA ROMs) and have no problem with them as reported by other users..

That could break the camera?
As the ROM itself says leaked so better dont upgrade there are plenty of 4.1.2 custom ROMS go with them.

hmm I never had a problem like this when I flashed cm10.1 based ROMs. They were all fine. Then again the camera was buggy due to the sources not been released.
Anyone else input on this?
Fact flashing a rom may in certain cases damage camera firmware its know to happen very rrely .
Search the camera firmware posts identical questions .
return to warranty condition and take to a service center
Fact 4.2.2 is giving relatively few problems for a leaked beta test firmware .
The claim that most 4.2.2 roms are overheating and draining battery can safely be ignored .

[Q] [Help] Battery Drops to 1% from 20%[KK ST18i]

My Xperia Ray Running on Kitkat 4.4.4 is facing a sudden battery drain. When the battery is about 20-25%, It suddenly drops down to 1%. :crying:
Is there any method to solve this?
I had tried flashing the ICS firmware. and again flashing the Kitkat Kernel. This did not fix the issue.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this?

As someone who had this problem in the past with a different Sony device (X10 Mini), I'd say that if the problem persists, try a new battery.
problem is most likely weak battery, you'll probably need new one soon.
