Yes I can secondly confirm that this App works, well worth the couple bucks they charge!

WiFi tethering requires no app now. It is supported in the OEM. May I ask why you need an app?

Sure can try to activate it but with app it forces it on

What are your settings please?

I have successfully tethered my non-rooted stock Nook Tablet to my HTC Amaze 4G with both WPA and no security
I had to enable ad-hoc wifi first as per instructions here: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1370955) before I could connect to my Nokia N8 using joikuspot.
It seems that other people have managed to use another software to create a non-adhoc wifi network, but I think it's good to apply the patch and keep your options open.

They are different for each phone so you have better luck hoping over to the forum for yours and asking over there or checking to see if they have it already set up. Like I said I have a lowend samsung galaxy Prevail here from boostmobile.
I have a rooted NT and am new to tethering (great option since my wife has a Blackberry Bold (Verizon) that her company pays for). Seems like Barnacle and WIfi Tether are the two most used. Any recommendations as to which would be better for a noob?

Tethering after the new update

Just curious what everyone who took the update is doing as far as tethering. WiFi tether doesn't seem to be cooperating. Maybe my settings are incorrect or something. And the hotspot hack from captains thread supposedly causes data connection problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can seem to get that to work. It keeps freezing up before it gets going.

I checked out the settings over at the captains thread and got it running.

Hi, I've been working on correcting Hotspot-Hack for a while, with little success. JB Wifi Tether is the only one that has worked consistently for me.

It seems like "wifi tether router" uses a lot more battery than "wifi tether for root users". Seems like the phone gets a lot hotter to. I hope they come up with some kind of update to get "WiFi tether for root users" working with this 4.13

Android 4.4.2 stock WiFi tether

Hey just got the latest update from HTC/Verizon it disabled my WiFi tether through foxfi and if anyone knows a workaround (I already tried usb to router with no success) that would be awesome.

I think the only solution would be to get an app from the play store that isn't blocked if one exists, or switch to a custom rom like Viper DNA and on that wifi tethering works.

Alright thank! But yeah as far as running a custom Rom Windows 8.1 says it all lol!

Anybody notice how you can only send one file at a time with WiFi direct on this? Is there a way to override it?

Call recording

Is there any xposed app for this device to enable call recording? Or will one of the Samsung or xperia work?

I'm not sure about a xposed module to enable call recording. But I'm using call recorder from the play store and it is working good on my device. It is a paid app but worth the money.

I tired the trial, but I can get it to record under any of the four methods. What are your settings? Also, I have it set to auto record, however it only turns red for a moment then back to the old icon.
