Good Bicycle Mount For G3 - G3 Accessories

Hi,
Anyone bought a good bike mount for the G3 yet? I bought the item listed here on Ebay;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Resistant-Case-with-Bike-Golf-Cart-Strap-Mount-for-LG-G3-/400728456318?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item5d4d46fc7e
However when riding it tends to slowly drop down and move about on my handlebar's I can stop and re-tighten it but it's a pain in the arse to keep having to do that.
Ideally, Id like it to be waterproof don't really plan on using it the rain but in UK is easy to get caught out.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Looks like the handlebar attachment can't be tightened enough. Are you strapping it onto a metal section of your handlebars? If so the dimpling inside the plastic strap probably doesn't get any grip on the smooth metal. If you strap it over something with a bit more friction it might do better - maybe just putting a circle of tape on the handlebars to strap it over would be enough extra grip?
Other than that it looks a decent case - how much does it affect the touchscreen sensitivity?

Im using this:

With my f400k and i love it.

Yeah you're right it just slips on the smooth metal, I did try adding some tape and padding to add friction but didn't really help unfortunately.
Touchscreen is more or less unusable tbh, swipes work okish but taps are pretty much useless. I do have a screen protector on also so that probably don't help either but it's pretty bad.

Hmm, not really a recommendation then?
I was using one that was a small bag attached to the frame&handlebar post, which at least guaranteed it would hold on well, but the viewing position isn't as good as a handlebar mount. Unfortunately, my G3 won't fit!

Just trying looking for bike mount for G3 and found one,

Hopes help

Have you used this? This looks like a great product, just wanting some feedback from someone who uses it.

I've been using a Ram X-mount for my phones. I had used a cheaper brand previously which ended up costing me repairs when my old smartphone feel it after hitting a pothole.
The Ram grips tightly and i recommend it.
http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-SB-187-UN7U
I am getting the zerolemon 9000mah extended battery and invested in the bike mount made for it. The attachment to the bike is solid and attaches quickly and easily. The phone part has a generous cutout for the camera. The phone part seems like it might be a little flimsy, but it grips the phone very securely.
http://m.ebay.com/itm/400792952134?nav=SEARCH
What i want to especially mention is that it fits the extended battery, but more importantly, it also fits the Lg G3 with stock battery when in the Otterbox Defender case.
I like both mounts and would trust either on a road bicycle/motorcycle. Off road, hard to say yet, but i think the extended battery mount might be the more secure.

Car Mount Recommendations

Any suggestions? Seen a few on eBay but not sure of the quality...
Yep. Checkout www.brodit.se . Really good quality and no low budget ebay solutions. They have complete car mounts with charger. I've have had one for my Pda and for my other nokia mobile phone and now I've ordered for my Htc Touch HD.

Second that. I have the Pro mount which fits in my car with no screw holes etc and then use their active mounts to screw into the pro mount. Charges phone perfectly and holds it great. Have used them for years now on all my phones, perfect!

i brought this one via ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230328542588
great quality, cannot fault brodit! dont forget you will need a clip
I'll add my question to this thread.
What would you guys recommend for me, considering that I often drive different types of rental cars? I checked the brodit website, but their products are made for specific car models, so it doesn't help my situation.
I have been looking at this one on ebay. Does anyone have any experience with this one? Does it stick well and is it stable? Will it only hold on glass?
I just have this fear that my HD will fall of it I hit a bump on the road.

And what about the type that clips on the air vents? How stable is that?
Here is a link to one on ebay. It also rotates 360° for portrait or landscape viewing.
UPDATE:
I bought the holder in the first picture above. You can read my review on it in Post #8 below.
I have a brodit mount. I think they are about the best ones made. They are expensive but I think that are worth it.
Many thanks all. :
REVIEW of car holder from post above
I just wanted to add my review to the first picture I posted above (holder with suction cup). But first - really quickly - as far as the second picture (holder for air vents), most of the reviews I found did not recommend it because it does not fit well on all vents, it is not stable, and it is often hard to remove from the vents.
So, now on to the suction holder from the first picture:
I got the HD holder for the car today and tested it out. I definitely like it. The suction cup sticks really well to the glass (assuming both surfaces are clean, of course). At first, I was scared that the whole thing would loosen up and fall off, and so I kept checking it constantly, but it held totally firm for the 45 minutes I was driving. Even when I went to take it off and I released the suction-lock lever, the remaining suction was still really strong.
The tray that holds the actual phone fits the HD well, and all buttons and ports are clearly accessible. I wish the phone would fit just a little tighter in the tray, but it is still fine. I never worried that it would "fall out" or anything like that. I suppose it's also good that it is not so tight that it could scratch the HD when sliding it in and out. The tray can also be easily removed and re-attached to the arm. Oh - and of course, the HD will NOT fit if you have any protective case around it (such as the silicone or hard plastic covers).
The "arm" part is easily bent and adjusted at the two joints, so you can set the HD at whatever angle you want in any direction. Once set to whatever angle, it will not loosen or bend on its own.
All-in-all, I'm very pleased with this so far and I would definitely recommend it. The user reviews I read for it on Amazon do so likewise.
I hope this helps.
Cheers!
Just throwing it out there. I recently sold my touch HD. I still have brodit car mount. If anyone wants it I'll be happy to sell it for cheap. If your local, i'll take some red bulls PM me!
BTW I love the mount. If I get any other carmount, its going to be a brodit

review: case-mate w/ stand for gs2

purchased from amazon.com for $32.48 USD including shipping and handling.
i personally love the case. its not as bulky as everyone says it is. the GS2 is a lil too slim in my opinion and this case makes it a suitable size for me. fitment is almost perfect...i say almost because it seems like the hole for the speakers are slightly misaligned(shown in the picture below). the camera, 3.5mm jack and the micro usb holes are a perfect fit. the volume and power buttons are easy to press while in the casing. the black shiny plastic is very durable, but does show smudges if you have greasy or oily hands. the cool grey rubber provides grip and is placed perfectly along the sides and frontal rim of the casing. here are some pics:

I saw this in the AT&T store and tried it out with my phone, very nice case made 110% to fit the GSII but it ends up being VERY thick pretty and about 1.5x the thickness of the phone itself thus eliminating the thinness of this phone. If you don't mind the thickness or really need the protection then it's a great case for you.
had exact same case for my Thrill. I loved it, but like what aquarianperry mentioned above, it does make feel a little bulky. kick stand was pretty useful when it was needed
Yeah don't like the added thickness. I really hope they come out with the body glove case like the one for the cappy, one of the best cases -)

I agree! I had the BodyGlove case for my Captivate and I loved it. Sleek and smooth yet durable.
using it now- makes the phone thick but it is durable and sturdy
kickstand will come in handy when i want to eat and watch tv shows at lunch
I find the kickstand to be really useful when I'm laying down with the phone on my chest.
I ordered that same case in white from Amazon on Sunday!.. I had that same case on my LG thrill and I absolutely loved the kick stand..

Does this come with a holster, or has someone found a compatible one i.e. Platinum ?
an INFUSION of REALITY
I've got this (they totally saw me coming - got the Moshi iVisor screen protector as well) and in spite of the extra bulk, I love it. I had the Body Glove on the Cappy and wouldn't mind one similar for the GS2, but the kickstand on this totally rocks! AND I'm a klutz, so a little extra protection certainly isn't bad in my case (heheh, no pun intended).
I have a white one n it's great...
review and pics now included in original post
Doesn't it block the top mic? The mic on top is behind the headphone port almost on the edge.
I've already dropped my GS2 5-7 times pretty hard, phone is perfect and case takes a good beating. Makes the phone thick, but I don't care. Wish this thing was easier to take out of a jean pocket, but those rubber sides grip like crazy. Other than that, love the stand, feels like I'm going to break the stand but I love it. Had my GS2 for a few days before I went to get a case for it, almost dropped it once, then got smart.
This one blocks the secondary mic as well.
no no no no no
Got mine from an AT&T COR Store... It has a big cutout for the headphones and mic unlike that black one posted by OP
I love this case btw! I didn't think I'd like it at first because I thought the POP case for the Infuse and Thrill were way too bulky.
I find this to be slightly bigger than "perfect size" which is fine with me. It doesn't add that much weight either.
The kickstand also works great in the car when I use the phone for GPS Navigation LOL
I was asking because I have the white version too and the cutouts are different than the black one from the OP. Mines exactly like the post above me.
I got a black one from Amazon last week (CM014637).
Looks the same as the OP however all the cut-outs are different. There's nothing over the volume and the top and bottom aren't blocking the mics. (Just like the white version above).
why is there a hole above the volume rocker in the OP's case? what purpose could that serve?
i have the exact same case... but my holes/cutouts are very different.

I need your opinion with different carrying solutions. Hows the china stuff on eBay?

I need to find a way to carry my phone around, especially at work. I work in a bus garage, my work is manual so I don't want the phone to be in any pocket as moving around can get annoying and I might hit my leg somewhere and damage the phone. But also in regular clothes, sometimes this phone is just to much for my jeans.
For me, finding the perfect way to carry this huge phone is the most challenging thing with it, but the size of this phone is my only negative point so I'll find a way around that.
From eBay:
1. Case cover with Holster with belt clip and kickstand:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-3-Case-Cover-Protector-Rigid-Slim-Holster-Kick-Stand-/171138781224?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item27d8aa9028
2. Heavy Duty vertical belt clip pouch : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-VERTICAL-BELT-CLIP-POUCH-HOLSTER-CASE-FOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-2-N7100-/360649119899
3. Another Holster Belt clip : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3-Rugged-Hybrid-case-cover-with-Belt-Clip-Holster-Bundle-/181230218883?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item2a3229ae83
So what are your opinons on these 3? Hows the china stuff with your experience? Should I be worried the belt clip break in half after 2days?
I've tried about 4 different china cases over the years....and 3/4 were garbage...the only decent one I had on my G2. The fit is usually too small/incorrect and i've cosmetically damaged phones in the past using them. Like the old saying goes "Ya get what you pay for." I'm by no means rich and like to save a buck when I can, but do you want to put your $600 baby in a $5-10 carriage?
1st one: I don't like that I don't see and rubber material in the case for shock absorption, just that little fuzzy "velvet" stuff. Bet it will scuff sides of phone too, had one similar before.... PASS
2nd one looks like the case for my leatherman. PASS
3rd one looks like a trident knockoff, but has the rubber/hard plastic combo that seems to work best. One thing I can't see is how big of a "lip' sticks out above screen. This is important for face-down falls. Without a good rubber lip like the Trident/otterbox cases, you WILL have damage.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out....
I've had mixed results with China cases over the years. I was suprised by the one I got for my Note 2. It was cheap, durable, and did exactly what I wanted. With my original Note I went through 2 or 3 cases before I got a good one.

The majority of cases probably originate in China. I ordered #3 from your list and it should be here soon, so I can take pictures and let you know about the quality. From another auction, it shows that the lip that surrounds the screen is rather large, almost as much as an Otterbox Defender. I saw the same case on Amazon for $20, and there are a few sellers that have them less than $10 on eBay. I've also ordered a Spigen NeoHybrid because it offers the protection I need, but hopefully the corners won't pop off and crack the case near the charging port like my S4 case did.

I'm also very interested to know how well the belt clip holds as well as the build quality of the material use for the belt clip itself, something always overlooked in product description and reviews.

"Ultra Slim" Aluminum Case Review

New owner of a Note 3 but long-time lurker of XDA!
Noticed not too many users using aluminum/metal cases so I figured I'd give them a whirl~

I decided to review this specific case because it's literally everywhere on ebay and seems to be the most popular aluminum case for the Note 3 currently.
1) What I received in the mail
Packaging was incredibly simple.
Here is what I received(This may vary depending on where and whom you buy yours from),
-Aluminum case enclosed in bubblewrap
-Keychain/Mini screwdriver(one side is flat head while the other is a philips screwdriver head)
-Mini bag with spare screws(Not pictured)
2) The Weight.
Weighed my Note 3 first to find it weighing at a paltry 6.05 oz.
After applying the aluminum casing, I found the weight to increase roughly 22%(From 6.05 oz to 7.35 oz)
Being that this is my first case for the Note 3, I'm unsure if the increase in weight is typical for most cases or abnormal.
3) Build Quality.
The casing actually feels very sturdy and tough in the hand despite it's thinness. This case is a SCREW-ON case.
There are rubberized strips inside the bumper to absorb any impact and the back panel actually replaces the stock back panel of the Note 3 to truly reduce bulk size.
But for some strange reason, after installing the case, I felt almost afraid of ever dropping my phone. Although the aluminum is thick and sturdy, I just didn't feel entirely safe holding it in my hand.
The buttons feel great! I actually prefer pushing the casing's buttons rather than the stock buttons.
All the cutouts are very accurate and easily accessible EXCEPT for the headphone jack.
You will NOT be able to use any 3.5mm right-angled cables with this case on!
This wasn't a dealbreaker for me because I never use my phone as my mp3 player.
As expected from anything made out of brushed aluminum, there is no grip to this case. If you are a butterfinger, stay far away from this case.
WARNING: the cutout near the S-Pen is just a tad bit sharp so please be careful when handling!
4) Aesthetics.
I must admit, I've gotten quite a bit of compliments after putting on this case!
It looks quite luxurious but the only downside is the obnoxious Engrish on the back of the casing. The logo almost looks like XXX or something and the description underneath is incredibly redundant(Seriously, it literally says "mobile phone metal frame cover mobile phone set Note 3").
The buttons remind me too much of the iPhone(especially the round volume controls). They look obnoxious on my Note 3 but atleast they work :/
For those who dislike reading long blocks of text,
Pros
-Looks luxurious and expensive
-Wifi is NOT affected by the aluminum casing (Download/Upload speeds were the same with and without the case)
-Buttons feel very good
-Cutouts are very accurate
-Phone does not move around in case due to the screws
-Pretty damn slim for a aluminum case. Does not add much bulk at all
-The added weight is not too large. This may not be a Pro for some.
-Compatible with most if not all screen protectors(I am using an iloome Screenmate Flex Tempered Glass Protector)
Cons
-Weird Engrish writing on the back(There are also blank versions of this case available on the internet!)
-3.5mm right-angled cables do NOT work on this case
-God damn slippery
-Feels somewhat unsafe to drop despite the robustness of the casing. This may not feel the same for other users.
-Gets cold when left untouched
-Sharp corners around S-Pen
-Screws are incredibly small and ridiculously easy to lose if not careful
More pictures!
Biggest complaint I've seen on this type of case is drastic decrease in signal.
Do you have anything to report in regards to signal?
Sent from my SM-N900V
I have this case in grey/silver and I did indeed notice some signal degradation in areas with weak signal. For this reason, I had to switch to a diztronic case. Otherwise this is a beautiful case - though makes the phone look a little thicker from the side view.

That's odd.. I have yet to notice any decrease in signal with this case on. Perhaps this may vary depending on the user's location.
Most if not all aluminum cases cause signal drop. Sometimes it can be drastic and sometimes it can be very minimum. Every case I've owned that's metal is like that. Doesn't matter if it's cheap or expensive.
screws
I lost the screws and do not know where to find new ones, or what kind of screws they are? Can you help me?
I bought one of these cases. While it looks and feels great, i have to agree. It is crazy slippery. Like, really.
Also, more issues i had with it, is that I had practically no GPS signal, neither could I use the NFC. That's a pity, as I got numerous compliments about the case, and I would really like to use it full time. But alas, I am back to my slim fit carbon fiber case.
Can't you apply strategically placed strips of see through plastic armor to make it more grippy?
Does it provide any protection?
Sent from my SM-N9005
Good looking case ruined by their logo.
The case looks very nice - it's a shame the logo and decrease in reception mess it up.

Pitaka's Thinnest Protective Case Made from Kevlar/Aramid for S9

i have got this case for s9+, they do have one for the s9 which is about 2 dollars less expensive, i believe you will get the similar experience as there's not much difference between the two variants.
the edges of case is perfectly cut to the metal sides which makes it feels really natural to hold
NOTE: this is not a carbon fibre case, its made of 100% kevlar/aramid. Carbon fibre as a case would have interference with signals.

I was very impressed by this post
I was very impressed by this post
I had one of these on my S8. I've already ordered one for my S9. If you use a magnetic mount, this case is awesome because is has very thin pieces of metal embedded in the back for the magnets to grip. You can't even tell they are there. I love this case although it is fairly expensive.
Wow bump up for great offer from pitaka!
Guys please email kitty for the updated qi car mount
Emailed! I'll give the mount a try, I have been through so many, and on my current mount and SUPCASE I had to cut the metal ring, so it didn't bulge the case out so much the button were not pressable.
so I've been using this case for about a week on my s9. Definitely a very premium thin case. It adds a a bit of weight to the phone, but gives it a nice heft. Cutouts line up perfectly and the case doesn't interfere with the whitedome screen protector.
My only gripe is that the edges are a bit sharp, so when holding the phone in landscape the edges of the case dig into my fingers a bit. This is compared to the Elago Origin case I was using before, which covers more of the sides of the phone(goes all the way around the power/volume/bixby buttons).
But my main reason for switching to the pitaka was for the built in magnets so I can use a magnetic qi charger.
Got it couple days ago. Very nicely made.
I can second the edges, they are sharp and rough. I guess it is byproduct of it being aramid, but if anything could be done to soften and darken them - it'd be great.
Button cutouts could be wider.
But overall very thin, tightly cut, snug - perfect for the job.
One weird thing was that pitaka advised me that their old mag mount wasn't going to work with new case. I get that magnets and metal inserts are not perfectly aligned, but it would still work fine. As it works with cheap no-name magnet mount. Even without the case S9 works with mag mounts (the problem is glass back which is too slippery, that's where Case works wonders).
But I'll wait for QI charger to see how it works together.
do let us know if it works out well.. I personally don't intent to get the qi wireless car mount,
looks awesome, but for $50 i think i'll pass...
maybe 10% off on OP might help out abit ?
also they have more color ways available now. you can check em out.
Beautiful case would buy in a heart beat but the price is to high .
what if your phone drops facedown?
haha then you have to kneel down and pray to hope for the best when you pick it up
Anyone else experiencing some wobbling when using the case? The case itself is laying down completely flat but when i put my S9 in it the upper left and lower right corner seem to stand out abit so my phone keeps wobbling when i put it down.
As there are new colorways available now, anyone know if it's possible to do a case like this with a Unidirectional weave? There are lots of bike parts coming like this and i like the style.

Well, I can share my experience with this case and my shattered S8. This is an excellent case but offers little to no protection if you drop the phone face first or the edge. To put it lightly, the screen is not the only thing that breaks if you happen to drop it at a weird angle.
