[MOD][XPOSED][4.0+]PINshortcuts - different passwords/patterns as shortcuts - Xposed Framework Modules

This module is a rather simple yet useful one
It allows you to open different apps or launcher shortcuts using different PIN codes/patterns
This is NOT for security, infact it reduces security (more passwords, so more chance of getting it right)
It simply allows you to set shortcuts
EXAMPLE USAGE
Set 1111 as password for "Phone" app
Set 2222 as password for "Messaging" app
Set 0000 as normal password, from Android Settings app
Then, when I type 0000, it will unlock as normal
When i type 1111, it will unlock and then launch "Phone"
When I type 2222, it will unlock and then launch "Messaging"
It should work with PIN and password and now also patterns!
This mod can be found attached to this post or in the Xposed Repo
Please also consider the pro version, it is an in app purchase within the free one

You tell me!

Working perfectly on my S4. Thanks!
I don't use pattern unlock, but the more options available to the user, the better, right?
- Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk because the XDA app sucks.

It's a long shot but if you could add tasker support to this, I can't even imagine the different scenarios we could use directly from lockscreen.

A lot of people have asked for Tasker support for many of my mods
The truth is I don't know how to make Tasker plugins. I don't even have Tasker
And what would it do in this case anyway?

You could directly ask the developer of tasker. He will surely help you.
And I think there is something on his website also for integrating support.
I could create any task, such as switching on mobile data and launching an app simultaneously.
And that task will be triggered by your module when I enter a pin or pattern.
It's all depends on your imagination after that.

I just realised you are also the developer of fastscroll, very handy.
Looking forward to this module.

If you add shortcuts (that same of launchers) people can call Tasker from creating password actions for shortcut.
Waiting for pattern to test

For users that want call Tasker tasks, yes.
Exist one app called auto shortcuts, they can call Tasker tasks with shortcut.

Anyone try this with Timepin as their lock screen? Don't want to test it and lock myself out with conflicting lock issues!

Knew that already and was being scared after a previous lockout.
So it works good with timepin but it doesn't unlock the device. Time pin uses two types of locks:
1. The default lock code, used when you first unlock after booting
2. The Time unlock code, which changes every minute.
I'm using this module to set the Flashlight app as an unlock code. I didn't really need it to unlock, just to turn on the flashlight which it does very well. But to turn it off I would need to unlock my phone the normal way.
TL;DR - it doesn't unlock the device if you're using time pin, but does activate the set app when the code is entered.

can we get Gingerbread support plz?

Absolutely brilliant.
This module helps fix some other toast related issues I had with using buttered and burnt toast. Now I have harmony and control.
Thanks bro.
BTW, I get toasts from Go Launcher Prime that do not get registered with your module. Is it possible to fix this?

EnhancedToast should record every toast, it hooks to a android function. I had never used Go Launcher. Could it be that this app uses a own "toast" method? Try to enable full logging in the settings and watch the logfile if such a toast is created

OK...I will try to watch the log.
Just to let you know...maybe a clue...both Burnt Toast and Buttered Toast modules work with the GoLauncher Toast. So in other words, they both see and modify the GoLauncher toast. Other app toasts tested so far are seen by all three modules (enhanced/buttered/burnt toast)
Can it change the color of the toast?

EDIT 3: Working now, but with a disadvantage: All "launcher" apps do not get new settings immediately, they need a reboot..
Thanks for the module, Nice be able able to control the ever growing number of toast messages.
I haven't encountered any errors, but I do have a feature request.
I would love to see some form of pattern matching, to filter on that.
If you look at the screenshot I block the TB "Number of app data elements:" toast. But since this number changes all the time I need to set it for every number. That's not very practical.

Reboot is not required if the "reload always" is enabled (=default). I should not write anything before i have done it ...
There are some apps which uses "special" toasts, like Swype (eg on changing language), EX File Explorer (eg on "back" touch) or GO Launcher. They all could now be handled
Btw, i just pushed another update. There was a bug which could prevent recording of any toasts :silly:

@FemBlack thanks for this module. Very useful for me.
Running this on note 3 modified stock rom.
I need this module as the exchange setting that i use forces me to use a pin lock .
This app is able to overcome it and I can toggle it when I leave home.
Suggestions / Requests
1- Ability to toggle between pin lock and no lock screen ( including no slide to lock )
2- Ability to add other triggers like nfc or wifi to do the toggle. May be add as a pro version .
Thanks
I'm afraid the module description is not very clear. And apparently is doesn't work for me on my Moto X, or maybe i'm just not understanding how to set it up. :cyclops:
In lg optimus l3 with ics 4.0.4 it worked after the reboot and then stopped and it worked only after reboot my phone but only for one time

Using this mod seems to have disabled access to the status bar in the lockscreen even when I have slide to lock enabled. Is this intended or is it a bug? Could you please look into it? Thanks for the great module!

thanks for reporting the bug i will check about it..
Thanks for this module. :good:
I have Tasker toggle between pin / slide when connected to home wifi. Sometimes I would like to temporarily disable my pin and Shaky will do that. My concern would be that I would forget to shake again to make pin active, maybe on break at work and someone needs something while I have shaken to disable my secure pin, and I place phone in pocket, and forget to shake again.
Is it possible to have a timer and a default secure state defined in the module? Maybe have a countdown time that Shaky will toggle back to a default security, i.e., in xx minutes it toggles to pin lock after I shake to toggle pin off.
The other thought is to have a simple status bar indicator of state, such as a dot on/off so the user understands but it will not alert someone who might pick your phone?
Thanks for your work.
When the screen is open:
the application locks the phone and turning off the monitor by making a vibrating.
When the display is closed:
It only makes vibrating.
the module would have to do something else or do something wrong;
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: all ok, just understand what the application does.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shake has to be really hard, but it works on my Sprint Galaxy S3 on 4.4.2

[APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] ProtectedApps

Extra protection for your apps
With this app you could protect app with a password, PIN or pattern. The Android lockscreen is used for that. The protection could not be removed with a simple long press on back-button, like with most other apps. You could even protect not straight startable apps eg the package-installer.
Donation: You could select a unlimited count of apps.
TouchWiz users (most Samsung devices): Please enable in settings the compat mode BEFORE reboot the device with enabled module!
Features:
All features are supported since Android 4.2. With older versions not supported options are hidden in the settings.
Different observation modes: First start of apps or while using it
Duration of unlock time configurable
Autmatic locking could be switched off.
Notification options: Always, while unlocked, never
Duration of unlock could be configured
Pre-lock slider could be disabled for app unlocking
Minimal and maximal time frame of unlocking configurable
Examples:
The device is protected by slider, protected apps with a PIN
The device is protected by slider and PIN+TimePIN, protected apps with pattern
Or you could use custom unlock mehtods without the keyguard:
Crash report
Knock Code
Pattern
PIN
Password
Recommendation:
For extreme protection select these apps:
Play Store (install/remove apps)
Xposed Installer (enable/disable modules)
Package-Installer (install/remove apks)
Settings (Android system settings)
ProtectedApps (configure protected apps)
WARNING: Please configure and check ProtectedApps with other apps before!
Coloring:
YELLOW: System app, could be started by launcher.
YELLOW+BLUE: System app, not straight startable.
BLUE: User app, not straight startable.
Donator:
No self-promotion in the app.
More than 5 apps could be selected.
You support this app and further development!
Permissions:
DEVICE_ADMIN: Lock device (required)
BOOT_COMPLETE: Show persistent notification (optional)
Modules reported not correct working with this app:
DS Battery saver
Lockscreen disabler
This app does not connect itself to any websites or hosts!

I think Tasker Support is better, so could many events beused. What about that: PA accept a broadcast, it contains
1) "mode" extra: protect apps, unlock forever and maybe unlock apps for the duration set in settings
2) "password" extra: In the settings could be a password defined and tasker has to add it to the broadcast. So not every app could send a broadcast.

That's not so easy, android does not "closes" apps, it "pauses" them. Eg if you hit HOME button while an app is open it is paused. Therefore is in the menu of PA an "exit" item.
You could get ~~ what you want if you set the oservation method to "create" and the unlocked time to it's minimum (its 30 atm)

Nice to hear that you're going to integrate with Tasker to control app protection.
Any plans to support app grouping so we can lock/unlock groups of certain apps depending on (Tasker-)context?

Please check that the folder "files" was created in /data/data/de.defim.apk.protectedapps. There should be also "cache" and something with shared-preferences. There was with another app also the case the "files" was not created, this should be done by android while installing the app. If you create it by yourself, set the same user&permissions like "de.defim.apk.protectedapps" has
bugs/suggestions
If there is no lock screen set for the phone then protected apps are impossible to open. Further if there is no lock screen set for the phone then it is also impossible to set a different locking method for protected apps and different methods that were set when the phone did have a lock screen stop working when the lock screen is removed.
So suggestion would be to make a way for your app to work even if the user has screen lock set to "None".

Nice quick fix. I'll give it a test.
Tested:
Looks good. Minor detail; in settings under "method to unlock apps" if "Don't change" is selected then the checkbox "Use a custom patter/PIN/password" does nothing. I'll probably play around more but you've got my donation.
Also: in settings what is the difference between the "time after which a new unlocking is requested"(self explanatory) and "minimal/maximal duration of unlocking"?
Really nice mod. Is it possible to evolve it so that you can have protection for selected operations on the device? Demand pin for deleting SMS or whatever the user choose to protect..?

Um... That's not easy...
I would have to create another version, since most APIs I am using don't work for GB. Also I don't know if the base code works.
Maybe some time later, but for now I'll focus on the main version.

The app stays unlocked after first opening it. If you want to relock it, you have to close app from recent apps.
So it's not a bug, it's a feature.

In future we have option for this?? E.g relock app on every opening and also with screenoff option??
I'm using miui android and the apps won't get locked when I close then from recent. Maybe add an select able manual timeout which starts counting as soon as the app is minimized?
Also +1 for auto lock option as soon as screen is turned off.
The lock itself is working great! Thank you very much! I've been looking for a simple app lock.

Hi max
Please consider adding a master switch.
Also there are some problems , for example i want to send photos via viber and the password field pops up , when i type it and click ok it starts viber over and doesnt start its gallery for choosing photos , appreciate your work.
Thanks
It's possible to add the system apps like the app installer?

As Max said, the app relocks once it's removed from "Recent Apps" or force closed. There is no time limit or anything like that... the process stops and the app gets locked. It has been like this since the first version.

Well, he wrote: "The app keeps unlocked for a amount of time, if you want to relock it, you have to close app from recent apps.

As i read it it says it get's locked after some time but i you want to immediately lock it then remove it from recents. That's why i asked.

No, @devotek is right, it is only locked again when closing the process, the timeout is another thing:
When launching an app, the app gets force closed by module and the lock activity gets launched, so after entering password the process is restarted. Now the timeout (some milliseconds) only helps that after relaunching the app it doesn't prompt again for password. Hope you understood.

Wide View

So far the only app I have found that works with "wide view" is chrome. Is there a setting sonewhere to add more apps to this view? For me, wide view is the entire point of a phone like this. LG adding functionality to use the phone purely in wide view mode is pretty much a must for it to be worth buying this thing, if you ask me...
Install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.refy.android.g8x.widemode
Yeah... While I appreciate that dev making that app... Its a far cry from what is actually needed unfortunately.

Are you sure you are using it correctly? It allows virtually every app to work in widescreen. You can also use it conjunction in tasker.
Yes. The constant switching is just nowhere near as good as just having a permanent wide mode button like the Axon M had.
Have you tried it with Tasker? For me, every option in the configuration for the plugin just turns on Wide View, including Off and Toggle. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Do you have a sample profile?

How does Tasker help with this? Are you using autmating wideview when launching specific apps?

Yes. I have it set to launch automatically on apps like gmail, word, etc.
Yeah,
That's how I'm using it too. But I can't get the off/toggle to work.

I am a Tasker novice. Can one of you describe how to create the task that launches Widemode when opening certain apps?

Yes please. And is there a way to change DPI for each app?

Sure. Here's the export for the relevant Tasker task:
G8x Wide (74)
A1: Force Rotation [ Mode:Landscape Reverse Alternative Method (Check Help)ff ]
A2: Switch Wide Mode [ Configuration:Turn ON Timeout (Seconds):0 ]
A3: Force Rotation [ Mode:Landscape Reverse Alternative Method (Check Help)ff ]
Please someone help me with video tutorial how to properly set wideview with tasker
