You don't actually have to cover the screen with the hand as the watch doesn't have an proximity sensor. instead just touch the whole screen with your hand, it also works if you just use your thumb and touch the middle of the screen.

Nevermind got it to work. Thanks

A lot of people have the impression that the watch has a proximity sensor, I'd doesn't it just looks for something to cover the screen from one side to the other. So you can even just lay your finger over the whole screen in any direction....Sorry if that didn't make sense

[Q] how do i adjust touch sensitivity?

soory 4 such a novice question but i just cant find this option, how can i decrease the tou?ch screen sensitivity on this thing
There's no setting in android that allows you to do that. I believe that was a feature that was prevalent in the early generation touch screen devices when the touch screens were all capacitive touch screens. If you use a home replacement app, depending on which one, you can adjust the scrolling speed and have the illusion of decreased sensitivity.

you cant with the technology of the screen because it doesnt sense your finger by pressure, it does it by heat
Ok a little disappointing but get n used to it

It's not heat. It's not pressure either though. When you touch the screen, you distort the electromagnetic field. It's a capacitive touch screen.
I am having to press really hard to get the phone to recognize my touch, anyone know of a fix. I thought my phone as starting to lag but its just not recognizing my touch.

As stated above, pressure should have nothing to do with it. Dumb question, but you aren't wearing gloves or anything over your hands are you?

[Q] Turn screen off when I close cover

Hey guys,
I saw this app:
HTML:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.smartscreenoffpro
but couldn't get it to work on my tablet.
Do we have a proximity sensor to do that? Or does anyone know of one that's working?
What cover
What cover are you talking about?
Yup tried it out. Its an interesting idea but I didn't really like it that much. As depends on your wrist not touching the sensor which is quite unavoidable sometimes.
But its a nice concept. Kudos to the developer but the hardware just not optimized for it. Perhaps a better version will make me change my mind.

Umm well I can't find it on the website but it's a Sony one, hard plastic with like a felt inside that goes on the screen, flips over at the top and holds on to the back. If that makes any sense?
Where is the sensor located? There is auto brightness setting, so there is a sensor some where....

The point of that app is that it doesn't matter what kind of cover you have. It uses the proximity sensor to detect when a surface (such as the inside of a cover) is on the sensor and locks the screen. Quite useful, depending on the sensitivity and location of the proximity sensor.

Yeah, I just can't work out where the actual proximity sensor is, I couldn't get it to turn off with the app at all.

Proximity Sensor Dead?

Welp, woke up this morning to my phone screen turning of randomly as if it was against my head during a call. In order to make it come back, I had to press the lock button. Then I pressed home while still in call and locked the screen, pressed the unlock button to get to the lock screen and every time I touched the ring to unlock the phone, the screen turned off again. This forced me to yank the battery to get the phone back.
Same thing happened after another call, so had to reset again.
Downloaded AndroSens and under the proximity sensor tab, it says sensor_Status_unreliable and the number/bar stay at 0 regardless of whether my hand is over the sensor or not.
Is the proximity sensor in my rezound toast?
Some people have reported dust making it go wonky.
Do you have a screen protector covering the sensor on the front... I have had this issue. Just cut the protector around the sensor if that's the issue

Unfortunately, no dust on the top of the screen and I don't see any under it. I'm familiar with pulling the phone apart, but don't really have the desire to do that just to check for dust haha.

I do have a protector, but it already came with notches around the sensor and FF camera.
I have the same probably but mine is from the digitizer "floating" up because the glue is weak underneath. If i push on the screen by the proximity sensor to push the digitizer down again the sensor works again. Haven't been able to fix. Maybe your digitizer is loose also.

I've sent two rezounds back for the same problem. Call Verizon, they should replace it for you.

You can try blowing out the speaker grille at the top of the phone with condensed air. Might clear any dust. Otherwise, call verizon.
I would rather not have to return to verizon and get a refurb if i can help it. I got the phone in November when it first released, so I'll definitely be getting a refurb. Oddly enough, androsens had it working just fine last night before bed. Put my finger over it, sensor went to 9/9, removed finger and went to 0/9. Repeatable for 10 minutes.
Then this morning it isn't working again. I can see the faint red light inside the housing for the prox sensor is lit. I might try blowing it out and disassembling/reassembling to see if I can fix anything.
Thanks all.

Xperia Z2 Screen Sensitivity issue (with SGP Sony Xperia Z2 Screen Protector GLAS.tR)

My new Xperia Z2 touch screen sensitivity seems to be too sensitive. I applied Sony Xperia Z2 Screen Protector GLAS.tR NANO SLIM and it is very good one. The problem is the screen registered finger hovering as a touch!! I don't even touch the screen, just hovering it, it seems to press by itself. By using Style Cover Stand SCR10 - Sony for Z2, it get even worse. The screen touches the cover while I am walking, sometimes it changes music and calls someone too. This is very hard to use. While I talk on the phone, the cover touches the number and sometime touches at End Call. I have checked the Glove mode, and it is always Turned off. I asked Xperia Care, they suggested that, I need to turn off the Glove Mode, and turn off, Double Tab to wake. I did them, but the issue is still occurred. I have updated firmware to the newest one, the problem is still occurred. Has anyone encounter the same issue as I have? If you have, can you solve it? if so how to do so?
Please help me.
Thank you very much
You could try going to settings > accessibility and then at the bottom change touch and hold delay to medium or long. Might make a difference.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. i will try it =]
Do you have ever have this issue before? i just wonder that, this over sensitive is due to the screen itself, or the glass protector

I've had it were I've accidentally exited apps or tapped on something by mistake as the screen was too sensitive. That setting seems to have made a difference though...unless I'm just more aware of the problem so make a conscious effort not to leave my fingers hovering over the screen. I've not tried the phone without a screen protector so can't say if this has made any difference or not.
Thank you very much =]
Well I've not notice an improvement with different screen protectors. Started with a Spigen antiglare one and have a Roxfit antifingerprint one on now. Same sensitivity.

Hello, remove any laucher you have till new update of the firmware it will definitely bug your phone :/
I'm using stock launcher. Yeah I hope Sony fixes this with their next update - and hopefully they are aware of it.
Check you don't have "gloves mode" switched on. I had that on and I think it increases sensitivity so when hovering it registers. I've since turned it off and seems to work fine. Settings, display, glove mode.
Hope it helps

That's because this is an LCD screen, which has linear polarization vertically. Your s5 was amoled, which has circular polarization. So when you turn the phone on its side, the lines of polarization line up and it blocks out the screen. Any LCD screen will do this.

I agree. Polarized sunglasses are essential. (I'm an optician). Keeping the phone upright will let you still see the screen with sunglasses on. Unfprtunately, there's no way to correct it while looking at the screen in landscape. Just have to take the sunglasses off if you need to take a landscape photo or something. Its just how optics work.
I switched over to non-polarized glasses last year because so many of the phones these days would do this.

my note 3 has more reason to stay the backup then. my nav apps are on that and i have absolutely no desire to go non-polarized on my shades.
My Oakley polarized sunglasses don't affect the screen when viewed at portrait. Landscape it does black out as expected.

It really does suck. I want the best of both worlds (freedom to choose whichever phone I want without worrying about polarization; Polarized sunglasses).
Coming from such an epic fail camera in my Sony Z Ultra to the v10 makes it that much more painful because I'd actually use it for things liike my mtb or running the dog on my rollerblades. Lol...
I just tested with my oakley's, never knew this was an issue with LCDs. Portrait mode I can see fine, then see the black out in landscape; however, if you really need/want landscape you can tilt/angle the phone to left/right slightly and then you can see the screen. Just can't keep it completely horizontal.

Would you know why iphone lcd displays don't have this issue? Aren't they lcd technology?
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
Iphone also uses IPS LCD, however, the horizontal polarization defect that is present in LG is not as noticeable due to Apple using a different (higher quality) polarizing film on Iphone.
However, that said, you can "fix" the issue on the V10 and the G4 by using a tempered glass screen protector. I have a generic one from amazon and the problem is 90% resolved.
Was thinking of trying a Tempered glass screen protector anyway, which one did you get or do you recommend? Thanks

The tempered glass protectors seem to help. It still goes darker, but not completely dark. Still usable for the most part.

I had someone with a CrApple iphone ask me to take their pic and I had my sunglasses on. I was able to see the screen and I think it just had a film on it. It's encouraging I suppose.

Been using a LG G3 for 2 yrs.....that has a LCD screen. (Also a Moto x Pure) Does not do this at all. I am using the same polarized sunglasses clips I have always used.
Had the same issue until I put a tempered glass screen protector on the phone. It's a little dim now but certainly legible.
