Flash stock rom + custom recovey by lgmdp

Afraid of kdz updater , here is an alternative to flash rom and recovery
Note: Donot use this method from emergency mode unless you already have a backup of your nv
Note: using this prodcedure there should be no disconnection of phone or power cut.
Using this method you can flash "stock rom + custom recovery" or "stock rom + stock recovery"
DO THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK, I WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!
download lgmdp : Download Here
1. disable lg modem
( in right click mycomputer->manage->device manager->modems->right click on lg modem disable it)
2. now connect your phone to pc.
3. start lgdmp
4. click "select port"
Phone will be automatically detected press "connect"
(close the pop up window of image select generally you will get it on connect of lgmdp)
5. backup nv for safety (tools->nv backup)
6. After backup , store this nv file somewhere in computer (and remember where you stored lol..)
7. close lgmdp
Now download stockrom+customrecovery
Download v10e ROM(unrooted)(2.2.2) with cwm recovery: Download Here_v10e
(or)
Download v20c ROM(unrooted)(2.3.3) with cwm recovery: Download Here_v20c
Step 1. Extract (use "extract here" for a noob)the downloaded file stockrom+customrecovery
(be sure you have extracted without error in zip extraction and you have all 13 files in extracted folder)
To flash stock rom + custom recovery skip step 2 and follow from step 3 to step 7.
To flash stock rom + stock recovery follow from step 2 to step 7 (including step 3).
Now the extracted folder has stock rom + custom recovery.
Step 2:
2. (a) Download stock_recovery for v10e: Download Here_recovery_v10e
(or) Download stock_recovery for v20c: Download Here_recovery_v20c
(make sure you downloaded correct recovery according to Rom you downloaded)
2. (b) extract the downloaded zip file -> you get recovery.img (this is stock recovery)
2. (c) Now copy this recovery.img file and paste in folder of "stockrom+customrecovery" (which you extracted previously in Step 1) {as their is already a recover.img file in folder it will be copy and replace "for noobs", in this step you replace custom recovery with stock recovery}
Click to collapse
Step 3: start lgdmp
Step 4. click "select port"
Phone will be automatically detected press "connect"
Step 5. select the extracted folder "stockrom+custom recovery" as "image folder or image select" in lgmdp
Step 6. Select "Erase EFS APPS" in drop down box of "NVBackup/Restore"
(Caution : donot select other options they might stuck your phone in air plane mode with no gsm )
Step 7. press start or download
DONOT DISCONNECT YOUR MOBILE UNTILL IT SHOWS DOWNLOAD COMPLETE AT BOTTOM
it shows in middle trying to connect to phone etc. donot touch the phone it will be automatically connect everytime.
After download complete you are done with procedure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to flash any other stock rom (kdz) file from lgmdp (Check this url)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note : Creating nv with different imei is illegal.
For people who messed up with nv, lost their nv follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=534704 to create nv.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NV will be automatically restored at the end before you see download complete.
If any error occured while restore of nv
follow below steps to restore nv
put the nv file which you backed up in first part of procedure in this order*
create new folder
- rename folder: <your_imei_(on_which_nv2_is_created)>
- create new folder in <your_imei_(on_which_nv2_is_created)>
named <port no.> on which your phone is connected
(ex:for com4 name folder as " _COM_4_" (without quotes), you can find
port number when you click on "select port" when connecting mobile to
lgmdp under port column.)
- now place nv2 file in this folder <port no.>
- so now u r nv2 file is in
" \<your_imei_(on_which_nv2_is_created)>\<port no.>\ "
- now place lgmdp.exe and <your_imei_(on_which_nv2_is_created)> in
new folder
- start lgmdp
- "select port"
- "connect"
- press "NV Restore"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank yoooou!
I cannot express my thanks to you enough. I have been trying to fix my phone for 9 hours now, and every fix I tried didn't work at all. Then I come around to this post thinking "What have I got to lose?" and this is the ONLY fix that WORKED! I still have a thing here or there to figure out for my phone, but I have most functionality back!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Dear Mak,
I did everything as stated (step 1 and 3). Everything went smoothly and after i saw the message "download completed" I quit the lgdmp and switched on my phone. the problem is that it is stuck at the "android screen" and does not do anything else. its just continously showing the flashing android logo. Please help! Thanks in advance!

Donot worry your phone is not bricked, It takes time for first boot sometimes may be around 10 min or so.
Which recovery wer u using ?
custom (skiped step 2) or stock (followed step 2) ?,
if you flashed custom recovery boot into recovery (long press {home+volume down+power} buttons simultaneously) and do "wipe data/factory reset" then "reboot system" ?
Do you have stored that nv file mentioned in first part of procedure ?
If stuck at logo screen, remove battery and start as mak said, (long press {home+volume down+power} buttons .
Worked for me !
My question now is... can i safely update to 2.3.3 romania firmware through the official LG mobile update tool ?
Thanks

Thanks a lot Mak! Your advice worked and phone is now booting. Howver, theres a small catch though. My phone was locked to orange and I thought it would be unlocked after doing sotck rom+custom recovery. I did follow all the steps for step 1 and step 3, but now when Im inserting other sim, it still shows that the phone is network locked. Can you suggest me what to do now? I just want to unlock it and dont know what to do.
Thanks once again, you are a hero!

Let me save you some time: you won't find such information here. Not because it's forbidden or illegal, but simply because it can't be done at software level.
What you need is to find an online service that unlocks your phone via some code they will provide based on your IMEI. There's no way you will find such service for free - if you do, please drop me a message with a link - but at least it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than asking your provider to do it.
Thanks Mak, I had to pay £10 to get the unlock code for my phone. Its working like a charm! Thank you all! You guys are saviours!

Just replace the recovery.img file, and keep the partition.mbn as it is and flash by same steps as mentioned in this thread.
Is the v10e provided for download an Indian froyo version
Bit Confused....
I think u have made a mistake in labelling the section. At the bottom, where you have titled "To back up nv follow below steps". Isn't that part suppose to be the restoring part? And the top part is the backup part. Am I right or am I just confused?

How to use lgmdp to avoid kdz bricking phones

HI O1 users KDZ is bricking a lot of phones around here i hope this guide and files i provide help avoid that.
to learn how to use LGMDP use this guide and read it more than once if necessary:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530
Now when you need to flash recovery ,baseband ,system or all partitions use LGMDP not KDZ
the safest way so LGMDP dont touch NV file that can result in a useless phone you guys put phone in emergency mode and conect to pc and LGMDP
following the guide above "Click Image Folder button" you choose the folder i provide with V20I to flash by LGMDP and if your phone already have custom recovery, just uncheck the recovery.img after you select path and all partitions that will be flashed appears, so you flash a stock firmware unrooted but with custom recovery already...
LGMDP V20I UPDATE: http://www.mediafire.com/?yz00j0whx9sxck0
for those who just want to flash stock and have custom recovery i provide a zip to flash by recovery
v20i for flash by recovery: http://www.mediafire.com/?ppoz93nsf8wns4r
hope this help avoiding bricks but use LGMDP with phone in emergency mode is more safe because dont toutch NVFILE but you can do it by normal way if are already using the software
just my 2cents if this helps someone just press thanks and maybe i will add others versions of stock roms maybe...
can u give me d zip file of v20D
Does this version of stock rom has Brazillian Portuguese language?

[Q] Need help with downgrading to JB (D605) LG L9 II

I'm quite new to the forum and I'm stuck with something.
I want to install custom ROM (CM11) on my LG l9 II.
To do so, I need to firstly downgrade from official kitkat to jellybean, get a root, CWM and then I can install CM11, am I right?
I tried downgrading by following this thread:
[Q] How to install a .kdz?
[A] (Tutorial thanks to @[W]ar[H]ead, confirmed working by TaZRAge)
#1) First to get into download mode:
1. Remove battery
2. Put usb to computer and phone (w/o battery)
3. Hold "Vol up" button
4. Put battery back
You will get into download mode (aka emergency mode).
#2) Unpack kdz flasher, and install msxml.msi.
#3) Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe set "type" to 3GQCT and "phonemode" to DIAG.
#4) Choose the .kdz file to flash.
#5) Click "Launch software update" and wait. Phone must be connected in download mode(!). KDZ installer might get stuck but DO NOT disconnect it. (Unless it stays that way for a hour as a example).
[Q] How to downgrade to stock JB(without CWM)?
[A] Flash the .kdz
I found JB ROM, from link provided to this file:
LG_L9_II_open_eu.zip
but after extrracting it I only see two .img files and no .kdz files. Therefore I can't flash it. Any help?

P765 Unbrick Using LG Flash Tool 2014

I bricked my phone while trying Artas's AOSP 5.0
I was suggested to use Lelus's method and flash u-boot and xloader
The fastboot method was not working for me as i couldnt get the drivers to work with win8.1
Proceeded with this tool as follows:
Download and setup LG Driver
Download LG Flash Tool 2014 tool and extract
Enter S/W Upgrade Mode and connect phone to PC ( Turn off phone and press volume up )
Run LGFlashTool2014.exe
View attachment 3029691
Tool has two flash modes
[A]Normal Flash: Flash ROM without losing any data. Only use this when you need to fix system error. Beware of boot loop when flashing ROM that differ from current ROM on your phone or MOD ROM.
CSE Flash: Choose this option when you need a fresh format. All data will be gone. It's suitable for upgrading or downgrading ROM or simply use this when you need to back to Stock.

I think it may work with other versions of L9

There were instructions, but since huawei updated bootloader in some firmware (now all should be new bootloader) mankindtw removed the instructions as going from new bootloader to old bootloader (downgrade) causes device to hard-brick.
Im sure you can find instructions on Google.
Also you need to have unlocked phone to use this.

Download and extract HWOTA8 zip, download update.zip public and hw zips for the cust you want to go to from Firmware Finder or http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/
Rename hw zip to update_all_hw.zip, rename public zip to update_data_public.zip.
Place all 3 in the repack folder in HWOTA8.
And here a tutorial I found:
"run rebrand.bat from the HWOTA8_Mate10 / rebrand folder.
*
Follow the instructions carefully and select the region in which you want to rebrand. For example you are in a firmware with region C636 (Hong Kong, Australia, Philippines, Singapore ...) and you want to rebrand in a European version, and choose a version C432. Always be careful when choosing a region that corresponds to your model of Mate 10 Pro (BLA-L29, ALP-L09).
*
Download a firmware corresponding to your new region and flash it using ota/ota.bat" -You should have them in the repack folder already.
"At the end of the installation, an error message will appear "software install failed". This is normal at this point, do not worry.
*
Enter recovery mode and perform a factory reset or let the phone restart until you see the message "Low-level format data partition" appear. Perform the operation.
*
Start again ota.bat and this time, the update will be done successfully"

I bought my unlock code from fnkyhuawei, then unlocked, rebranded and updated my mate 10 pro using this method, it worked out perfectly, i did not even get the first installation error, it worked perfectly. one suggestion though, when you umplug the phone to switch to recovery mode do not let go of the volume+ and power buttons until it turns on or you'll get a "download
latest recovery" error instead.
