[App] Minimalist watch face I created, suggestions/feedback welcome - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

I created this watchface as I felt the defaults were missing something minimalistic.
You can change the color of the watch hands via the mobile app.

something about the simplicity of it catches my attention. Question: doesn't the bottom of the watch get covered if you have an ongoing notification? I always have a weather card and music running, so my notifications are always there, which makes me prefer a digital watch face, although i rather have the analog look like this one. am I missing something? i almost feel like its a design flaw for that notification bar to constantly hang there, not a problem when the watch is in standby mode.

This really sucks. I feel the same way, especially because the notifications are so big. I hope we will be able to change this soon.

This app is really cool and unique concept. Can you make more changes in this app like changing the whole color inside the dial.?

If ther was a date and way to change to change color of the watch face (not just the minute/hour hands) I would definitely rock this!

cool minimal design,thx

Nice work! I like the simple customization on the app. I'd love to see more minimalistic watch faces from you! (And a digital one would be great, with weather and day/date.)

A Thought - For the upcoming roms [Time Clock]

Like many of you guys, I really appreciate the benefits of a nice big clock widget. And I find the time on the application bar to be very redundant. I would like to see an option for that to be disabled in any of the newer upcoming roms. It will save precious space
Here's what it might look like

Personally I like having the time there. That way when I'm doing something like browsing the web I can still see what time it is. Comes in handy when I'm on my lunch break.

yeah, there will definitely be instances when you'd want the time there. i think an option to display it on and off would be very handy
Soon
This is an option on cm6. I really can't wait for that to hit our phones!

I'm going to start looking into this..

It would be great if the time display in the menu bar could be dynamic. When in an app have it display, when on the home screen, have it hidden.
What power widget is that? Definitely more useful than the android one.
I got the gauge battery and the switch pro widget. Highly recommend it. There are many different configurations.

Thx!
it's fairly straight forward to remove yourself if you like. If you check this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780614 There's a walkthrough. But be aware on the SGS the line item numbers for the clock and alarm are different than what he shows in that thread.

I didn't do any stitching lol.
Mine is kind of plain, but I really like the way I can just put things where I want them and resize. I was glad that when I use tiles that are at their smallest, they are still very easy to tap!!
Believe it or now, I used MSPaint in Windows 8 to splice these together!
Still tweaking the layout but this works for now...

Here is mine after playing around for a few days.
I'm loving the live tiles.
Here is mine.
As you can see, the focus is on the phone, with other means of communications surrounding it.
Best for the thumb
Bah, my skydrive link failed.
Let's try posting again.
As you can see, as I've tried iOS and Jelly Bean and I've moved my tablet and phone over to the win8 platform.
I really like the idea of live tiles showing me updated information without opening the app.
That's a great concept that MS got right. The lack of screen orientation lock is fustrating though.
Anyone find a nice double wide live tile for RSS News?
The Surface has a nice app called News Bento, but I can't seem to find that app anywhere on the wp8 store, or any other suitable app.
Lol, I used the poster above's idea and used paint to splice the images together.

Some Of The Best Designed Android Apps

The Best Designed Android Apps
When thinking about what kind of design you want to go with for your app, you're probably pulling inspiration from an existing app that you have in mind. Have you ever downloaded an app and just been like "Wtf this is amazing!" Design goes hand in hand with functionality and these specific apps just nail that balance.
I'm going to list some of the best designed apps so hopefully you can get inspired to implement some of these looks into your own app. What I find best about these apps is that each one in very unique. Let's check them out.
Top Five Best Designed Android Apps
5. Lyft
Lyft is a taxi-alternative ride sharing app. It's so easy to use, you'll be setup and ready to go within 2 minutes tops. You can view where the local cabs are and filter through the different types of rides you want. The graphical interface is simple and to-the-point.

4. Pocket Casts
Pocket Casts will deliver all of your favorite podcasts directly into your ears. I've learned so much from podcasts. Did you know 9/11 was an inside job?! Crazy! What's every crazier is how good this app looks. The media player is brilliant with how they display all the information you need in simple and clever icons. Check out these screenshots to see what I mean.

3. B&H Photo Video Pro Audio
When you first launch this app you'll be expecting the usual shopping app like Amazon or Walmart. Boy are you in for a surprise. This is one of the best looking shopping apps you will find. It's worth downloading just to check it out and see how great everything looks.
2. Weather Timeline - Forecast
You're probably not used to paying 99 cents for a weather app. You're probably also not used to having a weather app that will blow your socks off and suck on your toes. This is by far the best designed weather app on the Play store. Check your forecast in style, right before the tornado hits and destroys your entire town.
1. Tumblr
The animations in the tumblr app won it a Material Design Award from Google. Tumblr is the app to check out if you want to trigger your creativity for animations and layout design. It really adds something nice to the experience when you're posting selfies of your new blue and green hair color.
These are my favorites apps when it comes to design, and they have all be featured at least once on Googles design website. What apps do you think have fantastic designs? Share them in the comments.

[WatchFace] TrombT1 - a very nice watchface i made (FREE only here on XDA)

Hi guys, recently i had some time to learn some Java, and since there was not any watchface i liked in particular i decided to make one by myself.
SCREENSHOTS BELOW
APK ATTACHED TO POST, SEE BOTTOM
My objective was to make a watchface as realistic as possible, and i achieved this with reflections based on hand movement, realistic minutes and seconds hands that smoothly move following force law and high res textures.
Even if it looks an heavy computing app it is butter smooth in my G Watch R and cpu isn't much stressed.
It is the closest to real smartwatch i've seen.
I'm giving this to you hoping you all like it, if you want you can help me keeping up with this just by downloading and rating the free app, which is the same as the paid one except for advanced effects like reflections and force based hands movement:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wear.trombettonj.trombt1steelfree
And here is the paid app, with the lowest possible price i could set in play store:

Never mind. I have located a bunch of watch faces online. But what I meant by "realistic looking date" is the small glass bubble located on real watches to magnify the date number (like on a Rolex or a Panerai). Thanks anyway.
Thanks for giving the XDA community exclusive free access. Its pretty cool of you
Also, this is completely unrelated to the topic... But could you make a digital watchface? That would be awesome! I can't find any digital watchface that I like.

As the name suggests, I was not planning to add digital clock . I wanted to make this watch face as simple and lightweight as possible.
If I have time I will create another digital watch face.
But I will for sure add option to hide specific complications in ambient mode. Because I also want to have a date in ambient mode .

I hear ya, I personally just like digital for ambient and analog for the normal but there isn't many watch faces that I've found with that option
I like nice clean watch faces, black background.....
I really like that watch face is open source. :good:
H1 Vlad, I applaud you for your awesome watchface. Personally I am having massive problems implementing complications in my android watch.
You dont possibly have a guide or tutorial to help a lost soul out?

Sorry for a late replay. This watch face was created for this Pluralsight course.
It's behind the paywall, but you can get 10 days for free, and watch just this course. It explains step by step how to create a watch face.
Also, check codebase on GitHub, and feel free to open an issue there, if you have problems understanding some parts.
Thx man, love it
Just installed this but I cannot find it in my app drawer. It shows up in the installed apps setting , but no icon in the app drawer
