Whats up folks! Im here proudly on share my efforts with you guys! This is a port of the AMAZING CarbonROM for our beloved Moto X and its variants. I do this for fun, and i am not a master dev (far from it), but i can think and read some codes :cyclops: So i made this because im such a big fan of this ROM. So i will try to keep the topic and the ROM up to date, so dont expect nightly builds, and dont ask for ETA. Regarding bugs maybe im able to solve some, or maybe not! Every issue present on official builds of Carbon should be present here too. So if you find some bugs just report on topic and provide the maximum information that you can, such logcats and steps to reproduce the issue.
Im not so good with words, so lets flash it!!
Special thanks for Carbon Dev Team to provide this stunning ROM

I love Carbon. Thank you for this Rom. Alsp, thank you for updating so fast.
As a point of reference, I successfully flashed this with TWRP 2.6.3.1 (hashcode). I am on an unlocked Droid Maxx Developer Edition. As far as TWRP 2.7.1.1 goes, I have tried it twice and had problems that led me to wipe my internal storage,. Perhaps it was the ROM i was flashing at the time, because the same rom was involved in both instances. Maybe I will update my recovery once I find a good link for 2.7.
I am running the kernel from TDH on the last release (just downloaded 7/20) with no issue. The smartmax governor is great in that kernel.
Ultimately, this is the best rom for my Droid Maxx DE yet. Thank you again and keep up the impeccable work.

I have no clue. @Bobcus Leper told me that it booted and that he would test more tomorrow. If you want to test just make a new rom slot and flash. This was built using CM12 device tree so it should have all of the working functionality of CM12.

If you wipe system, data, and both caches then yea. If you want to dirty flash though, be my guest just don't report bugs since every single dev requires a clean install if coming from another ROM.
One thing to mention, with any of the Team OctOs ROMs for Android 5 (A5), it will take quite a bit longer to flash than other A5 ROMs. To the point we specifically fixed the progress display. Be patient!

Yea CM12 takes like 5-10minutes to flash for us. And initial boots take ages especially since we use kexec..

I meant TO Builds tend to take longer than regular CM12. CM12 uses a image-based system, and we prefer the individual files.
Any screenshots or features list? Will probably give this a shot tomorrow. Thanks!

It runs as smooth and is basically equal to @stargo's latest CM12 build. Since this ROM is built from CM source, expect the same bugs. The stock camera does work by default in this rom.
So, after an hour of testing, unless you want added features (color and statusbar customization) this ROM may be for you. If not, stick with CM12, because it is essentially the exact same ROM.

@Oggie7797, My grandma has a DROID BIONIC, and my RAZR blows that phone out of the water! Not to mention that her screen has terrible screen burns all over, from the screen protector. The Bionic only has a regular TI-OMAP-4430 1000~300 MHz not the plus version right?

Incorrect if she updates to jb it clocks at 300-1200. When bionic first was released it was clocked at 1ghz but they realized at jb "hey let's clock it to an actual usable speed" lol

THERE WILL BE NO MORE 5.02 BUILDS
REFER TO THIS THREAD FOR NEW 5.1 BUILDS BY eagleeyetom :good:
Attention:
1) At bootup, this rom will self reboot after a few seconds during the first go,
and then will boot normally. - don't panic.
2) New modem firmware is NOT REQUIRED, so you'll need to flash the old modem or be coming
from a non-alpha-modem rom: link
3) You need to flash supersu if you want root access: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

Yes, the thing is it brings Ondemand as default gov, switching to Interactive does the trick too.
But most important, there are really nice features in the way, we just need to be patient. I'm myself excited to see Omni supporting "layers" and the implementation of ambient display as active display.
But for now I'm very pleased about how solid it's working.

No need to flash Cm12 as Omni still uses the old firmware and modem. If you are on cm11s or any other cm11 ROM you can flash directly.

If you want to go from blisspop you will have to flash cm11 modem and firmware or else you will have SOD during calls.
Also just an FYI to all camera is not working good enough. Pictures look muddy.
Will that the same for the official release? Dont like to flash cm11 because i have best signal with actual baseband

Nope, on the contrary, you should keep the old modem. If you get the new one, you'll have trouble with proximity sensor during calls.

Omni Lollipop is unreleased yet, these are unofficial builds. If anyone's willing to take some screenshots I'll happily place them in the Op, yet I don't see much point in that... for now all lollipop roms look pretty much the same. But the team is working on giving layer's support and that will be a nice chance to toy with looks.
About features, i'll update the Op with some info about that. Yet I think you should try it yourself. Omni at this stage won't make you choose it for features, but for it's solid developement.

In my experience, you don't need to flash the whole CM11 firmware. Flashing CM11s or CM11 modem should be enough. It's available in the dedicated thread for modems, but if someone can't find that one, let me know and I'll provide the link.

My friend, belive me the whole benchmark is a big lie anyone can do couple of tricks to get higher score, even Samsung did it, they did couple of software tricks to get higher score.
What is real is what those devs are doing, their hard work, their efforts.... Etc and the only way you can test and feel that is by flashing those Roms.
I tried many Roms and some of them had a lower score than the others but they where faster.
So do a backup and flash this b***h
Good luck...

Iv'e tried PAC and broken-rom with encho's kernel, been waiting to try it on this rom

Lol, I wanted to build this rom few weeks ago to try, seen great reviews on G+. I am former vanir fan and I know this is solid. But I'm hooked to layers now, it's hard to go back to cm engine. Best of luck to the dev.

Hi, this is the first time that screen mirroring is working for me with the TV on a AOSP Rom. Congratulations for that!
Now, there's a problem with the music in the speakers, the sound is totally blurry and like with glitches!
download speed is crazy slow 4 hours???
How is this ROM running for everyone? Any t-mobile people running this one?
Very nice ROM, smooth. I always have random reboot after moving to KitKat (tried many many ROM and kernel) and now 0 reboot after 12h. If the random reboots disappear u saved my life. Thanks

Is dialer crashing on this rom?
@fedef12evo: nope, works fine for me!
I have another issue with the ROM since I updated to the November 10th version:
The WIFI is turned off when the screen is of for some time.
I don't have energy saving settings turned on and WIFI is set to always stay turned on.
Still everytime I unlock my phone after like 20 minutes the WIFI reconnects. This didn't happen before.
Any way to fix it?

I have the official 4.1.2, i am looking for a smooth rom for my phone but all the experience that i have with rooting and flashing roms are from my old galaxy ace. I'm still trying to learn all about this "baseband stuff" but i am a little bit confused. Which baseband do i have? What baseband do i need to flash your rom?
I am sorry for asking this here but i have been reading a lot and i still don't get it. I hope that your rom is the rom that i need.
(Já agora, reparei que era brasileiro. Um grande abraço de portugal e continue o bom trabalho)

I suggest flashing TBO black gapps and using kraken bold font both can be found in their installer. The black gapps compliment the epic stock theme.
Edit:
scrolling to the bottom of op shows it is cm12.1 based ;P
Was going to port this for umts_spyder and build fresh for spyder and my DNA but cm broke stuff (go figure) so I'm getting compile errors, this will be fixed in the next day or two along with the no data indicator bug.
Okay, thanks. Lots of people are burning on the UMTS_Spyder-version.

actually the same thing happened with me while porting some ROMS for our Phone the compilation always does have some errors in it which has no sense and again recompiling was giving me some other errors and there was 2 successful builds too but just a bootloop :crying::crying:

Validus works by pushing cm commits to a testing branch and then into lp5.1 branch (stable) which I build off of. The compile error is happening to everybody because they merged a testing commit that had two parts. Like I said, this should be fixed soon and I can build again for both spyders and my DNA.

You may wanna check the talk good part. Their devs are notorious for kanging other's work without permission and they're constantly being called out on it. Regardless, I locally fixed the compile issue and it just built for my DNA (data indicator again ?) I'm uploading to my mirrors and then compiling spyder and then umts

If I could have any ROM ported to OMAP-4, it would have to be Chroma ROM. It looks awesome with its minimal features, and Layers support.
New build for Spyder let me know if it boots or not. Building umts now
Edit:
umts builds are up check op for links. Let me know if they boot..
Edit2:
If you are going to ask "where's umts afh link??" There's subfolders in that link
Anyone tried this? How is it? I haven't been on LP for a while now.
So I was wondering if I should give this a try.
I've been happy so far with PAC-LP and stuck with it the longest, but back on KK at the moment.
