Unofficial OctOs 5.0.2 - Motorola Droid RAZR

Since I had the repo downloaded and I ported this to my Bionic I figured why not give the other OMAP4 boys a taste of this sweet ROM. I want to begin with I DO NOT OWN THIS DEVICE SO I CAN'T TEST BUGS. Now that that is clear, lol big thanks to @Bobcus Leper for testing the initial zip so that I can start building for Maserati.
Requirements:
-Half a brain
-A desire to have an awesome ROM
-The new SELINUX enabled SafeStrap by @stargo
-A XT912 Motorola Droid Razr for VERIZON
Screenshots (Click Link)
Downloads

HotSpot (wifi tethering)
Bugs
When turning Off Hotspot(wifi tethering), phone may reboot

Kernel
Please note that this is for the Spyder NOT UMTS_Spyder......I will build for umts after I build Maserati. Lastly......enjoy!

I have no clue. @Bobcus Leper told me that it booted and that he would test more tomorrow. If you want to test just make a new rom slot and flash. This was built using CM12 device tree so it should have all of the working functionality of CM12.

If you wipe system, data, and both caches then yea. If you want to dirty flash though, be my guest just don't report bugs since every single dev requires a clean install if coming from another ROM.

One thing to mention, with any of the Team OctOs ROMs for Android 5 (A5), it will take quite a bit longer to flash than other A5 ROMs. To the point we specifically fixed the progress display. Be patient!

Yea CM12 takes like 5-10minutes to flash for us. And initial boots take ages especially since we use kexec..

I meant TO Builds tend to take longer than regular CM12. CM12 uses a image-based system, and we prefer the individual files.

Any screenshots or features list? Will probably give this a shot tomorrow. Thanks!

It runs as smooth and is basically equal to @stargo's latest CM12 build. Since this ROM is built from CM source, expect the same bugs. The stock camera does work by default in this rom.
So, after an hour of testing, unless you want added features (color and statusbar customization) this ROM may be for you. If not, stick with CM12, because it is essentially the exact same ROM.

@Oggie7797, My grandma has a DROID BIONIC, and my RAZR blows that phone out of the water! Not to mention that her screen has terrible screen burns all over, from the screen protector. The Bionic only has a regular TI-OMAP-4430 1000~300 MHz not the plus version right?

Incorrect if she updates to jb it clocks at 300-1200. When bionic first was released it was clocked at 1ghz but they realized at jb "hey let's clock it to an actual usable speed" lol

And for those who may not like PA as their flavor... There are proof of concept builds available for demonstration/testing purposes while the official maintainers get going for AOKP and CM. Feel free to try them out - I'm keeping those on SXTP Developers since they'll go away when the official maintainers post theirs.

GPS is working. also just noticed though that WiFi tether does not work.
EDIT: well, GPS is mostly working... it has stopped fully locking on, but the middle of the circle is in the right spot at least.
This ROM is working perfectly, except for the camera. I can't change the DPI of the camera app (I thought that was the problem), but it doesn't even list it. I wonder if I could side load the camera app??

PAC-man ROMs
CandyKat ROMs
houst0nn

mathsz
zymphad
ronasimi
AK
and everyone else working hard on the LGOG
Bugs:
I use these as daily drivers. I can't code at all, so squashing bugs is tough. Let me know and I'll try.
Installation:
You have to have been on stock 4.1.2 or LGNPST'd to it or teenybined your RPM/TZ partitions. Search or ask if you don't know what that's about.
Do a nandroid backup
Wipe: data, system, cache, dalvik
Flash PAC-man ROM
Flash GApps
reboot
restore apps and app data using TB or your another backup application if desired
Downloads:
PAC-geeb 10/13/14
CandyKat-geeb 10/13/14
To flash I recommend using my TWRP 2.8.1 build.
I would use the BaNkS 4.4.4 minimal Gapps.
I use the AT&T Jellybean radio.
Kernels:
AK geeb kernels for CM and AOSP mako based ROMS:
AK.360.geeb-cm.zip
AK.360.geeb-aosp.zip
AK gee kernels:
AK.360.gee-cm.zip
AK.360.gee-aosp.zip
To maximize the capabilities of these kernels, flash:
UKM,
install the Synapse app from the playstore,
and remove or disable Trickstermod, Faux control, or any in-ROM kernel control apps and settings.
If WiFi doesn't work after flashing the kernel, try flashing the Revert_4.4.3_Wifi_Fix.zip. It may fix WiFi on 4.4.2 ROMs and 4.4.4 ROMs that don't have the updated mako WiFi drivers.
These kernels won't work on gproj or E970 official ROMs based on gproj device sources. Ask me, your ROM dev, or just about any other experienced member on here if you don't know about compatibility.

They are both feature rich Roms. I wouldn't call either one vanilla...there are lots of things in both that are not in vanilla AOSP Roms. To me, it appears that Beanstalk uses CM and then modifies stuff, and PAC modifies from AOKP. I'm pretty much judging this from the layout of the system menu. Both are very feature loaded...similar but not identical feature sets. Beanstalk has a newer pie implementation. PAC has PAs per app DPI settings instead of using xposed for that.

Good point. Maybe vanilla wasn't the best descriptor. I meant there wasn't much on top of the AOSPA/CM/AOKP features.

Gotcha. Yep, I'd agree with that description.
From what I've seen, PACman, BeanStalk and RootBox are all pretty much different ways to "interpret" a hybrid of CM/AOKP/PA. The major stuff is pretty much all there in all of them, but each one has areas where the Dev prefers one implementation of something over another. It's really personal preference, I think, that determines which one is better for a given user.

Only glitch I ran into was weather panel not displaying correctly in notification panel, buy I had messed with clearing data for Google services framework and apparently broke GPS while doing so. More than likely I caused the problem.

Fixing fine here.
Last build, Stock Kernel, XT910
I am having a tough time getting my SD card to mount after running TIBU....weird
MMS SMS Issues
I flashed last night but could not send any messages. I was able to receive but sending did nothing...... otherwise it was smooth as hell. Even the Bluetooth in the car worked when getting phone calls which has been an issue beyond 4.1.2 for me. APN was accurate from what I could see. I used tweekers app from play store to check it.
Why can't I install this? I had Gummy before and now I tried a clean install and it fails with both 12-10 and 12-11 nighlties...

Thanks for the thread.
For all wondering, this is a CM12.1 based ROM with some nicely added features, and a awesome theme.

I suggest flashing TBO black gapps and using kraken bold font both can be found in their installer. The black gapps compliment the epic stock theme.
Edit:
scrolling to the bottom of op shows it is cm12.1 based ;P
Was going to port this for umts_spyder and build fresh for spyder and my DNA but cm broke stuff (go figure) so I'm getting compile errors, this will be fixed in the next day or two along with the no data indicator bug.
Okay, thanks. Lots of people are burning on the UMTS_Spyder-version.

actually the same thing happened with me while porting some ROMS for our Phone the compilation always does have some errors in it which has no sense and again recompiling was giving me some other errors and there was 2 successful builds too but just a bootloop :crying::crying:

Validus works by pushing cm commits to a testing branch and then into lp5.1 branch (stable) which I build off of. The compile error is happening to everybody because they merged a testing commit that had two parts. Like I said, this should be fixed soon and I can build again for both spyders and my DNA.
Can someone port Blisspop rom?
A lot of people use it and talk good about it...

You may wanna check the talk good part. Their devs are notorious for kanging other's work without permission and they're constantly being called out on it. Regardless, I locally fixed the compile issue and it just built for my DNA (data indicator again ?) I'm uploading to my mirrors and then compiling spyder and then umts

If I could have any ROM ported to OMAP-4, it would have to be Chroma ROM. It looks awesome with its minimal features, and Layers support.
New build for Spyder let me know if it boots or not. Building umts now
Edit:
umts builds are up check op for links. Let me know if they boot..
Edit2:
If you are going to ask "where's umts afh link??" There's subfolders in that link
Anyone tried this? How is it? I haven't been on LP for a while now.
So I was wondering if I should give this a try.
I've been happy so far with PAC-LP and stuck with it the longest, but back on KK at the moment.

Let's see. It has clock customization, app side bar (a circle one too), recents menu customization, and many more I can't remember off the top of my head.

*FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK*
Lol if I recall safestrap allows for ROM slots... flash and decide if you like the features they're all under the void.

This is AOKP for Huawei Nexus 6P based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1!
Read: The unicorn eats marshmallows and farts rainbows
Reading that gave me goosebumps - my favourite ROM returning from the grave to support the latest Android version. So I went on and built myself AOKP. I am no developer, just your fellow XDA member, who knows how to compile a ROM and a bit about its structure.
What works:
RIL
WiFi
ROM Control
.
.
.
I am testing further, was so eager that didn't even test it.
What doesn't work?
You tell me :victory:
Instructions
I hope you already know what to do. But if you still need help, read below.

If there are bugs and you notice them, provide me a logcat (It will contribute to further development), and make sure that you are using the kernel delivered by this ROM itself.

Du is ok. Lots of freezing and hanging on newest build
Newest DU is rocksolid here. But I guess I'm one of the very few that actually wipes everything when installing or testing new Roms[emoji14]

I did a very clean flash, and it ran good for me but it was a little while ago. I could see why they would want to keep a ROM off of XDA while it might still be buggy, because the amount of people complaining about it would be a PITA, no matter what they state in the OP...
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
@DJBhardwaj well I'm going to say thanks for the rom and not talk about du what had nothing to do with this thread

Is that a DRI sticker on top of a Grateful Dead sticker in your avatar? Not sure I'd want what you're smoking!
Tap'd it
Has anyone here tried flashing the official nightly? Everything went smoothly in TWRP, but it's been sitting on the Google boot logo for some time now (about 5 -8 minutes). Not sure if this is a sign that it's not functional yet, doesn't have its own boot animation in the current state, or something else.

I personally got it to boot in 2-3 minutes using OpenGApps. However on the first boot, after optimizing apps, it did take a few seconds showing "Loading contact storage".

Select Platform as ARM64, Android version as 6.0, and download any variant as per your requirement. I prefer Mini or Micro packages since others are bloated.
