Nillkin tempered glass - G3 Accessories

I just received the screen protector , at first impressions I'm impressed. Didn't think it be this great. I haven't tried any other tempered glass before but the touch is really smooth and doesnt have a raise on it to much

Are the edges rounded. I have one in route and if it doesn't have rounded edges, I'll send it back
Sent from my LG-F400K using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Yes, rounded edges
LG G3

I got one too, not bad quality

I have also the Nillkin but i have removed it, because i have touch problem with this glass.
First it seems ok when i use it on desktop but then i played some game like "Angy Birds" i have problems with touch.
After removing the glass, all was fine

Tempered glass
I bought this one on eBay for $6 and am extremely impressed:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380946516556?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

i am using the Momax Glass Pro+ XS ..just applied today and the glass is round edge and anti finger print is quite good just like the original glass..

Mmm thats weird after day of use its perfectly fine for me no issues at all. you clean the surface real good with the wipes it came with?

I wished it looped around the speakers, camera and front sensors.

Wouldn't go for full cover glass myself

I had 1 that did just that (one my Note 1) and the thin "loop" atop the speaker broke, as did the similarly thin one at the bottom around the physical home button which cracked too. I've ordered a glass protector for my G3 (due today), protector later this week (not Nillkin, but faster delivery) and I specifically ordered it because it didn't have any "loops". Also, to my knowledge, any glass put on top of the sensors and especially the camera will distort light, which is why they make them so they don't cover those.
I'll post a link to the one I bought if it works out well. It ships from the UK (living in Denmark, have to buy from within the EU to avoid paying toll, taxes and import fee $29! (if product costing more than $14 without shipping) Also bought the Quick Circle case which replaces the back cover, so I'm curious how well they'll play together.

I got an ISG Glasi screen protector. It's rounded and only 0.3mm thin. I looks a lot like the Nilkin. Was going to buy the Spigen Glas.tr slim which is only 0.2mm thin and with precise cuts in the speaker area but the store ran out of stock. The Spigen costs 40% more though.

I have one on order as well. Did you get the H or H+ version?
I'm trying to figure out the difference between the two and if I wanted to go bankrupt between paying $8 for the H or $15 for the H+ LOL.

Got it too, really good quality.
Previously on my nexus 5 i tried 4 brands of cheap tempered glass protector and the result was always the same=crappy.
to OP: take better pictures with proper exposure.

H and H+ are the same, just that H+ is rounded edge. H is not rounded edge.

Like the edge of it is rounded all around the protector? I got my H the other day and I do tend to notice the straight edge on it, especially when I pull down my notification menu and my finger starts best the speaker.

Galaxy S7 Full Screen Tempered Glass **RESOLVED**

So like me i am sure you all went thru a lot of glass and plastic screen protectors for your galaxy S7 and nothing fits right or feels same.
Here is a new one by CORAL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL-9u0dnzuk
Here is a video review by our own ebpman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6Fzelt0l9s.
Mod edit: Commercial links removed.
Hopefully i was able to help you all out!
EDIT UPDATE:
Review for the Coral Tempered Glass
#1 Looks 8/10- It dosent look exactly like the phone, so its like putting a case for the front as well. However dont get me wrong it does look very good so i will give it an 8 since it does not preserve the samsung color all the way but it comes very close.
#2 Design: Idk how i can rate this one. It is shaped just like the phone screen so thumbs up i guess.
#3 Functionality: Flawless touch screen experience. This field will get 10/10
#4 Compatibility: Already tried it with other cases, about 5 of them (i work at Verizon) and it works well with all of them. I can see it being a problem with some off brand super tight cases though. I tested it with UAG, Incipio, Speck, Spigen, Case Mate.
#5 Protection: It makes my phone feel very secure and is a solid over all product. so this is one place it gets 10/10 for sure. It is 0.26 MM which is thinner than 0.33 MM regular glass we are used to but if the glass was any thicker i dont think the cases would fit it, so i do believe its the perfect thickness.
Overall its a 9 depending on how it does with my cases but i am sure it ill pass with flying colors.
Will do a more in depth review once i get back home from work tonight or tomm. Will post pictures
I am using it with an otter-box commuter right now and its working great. Also idk how many of you saw this but here is the video of our very own ebpman who did a review on one as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6Fzelt0l9s
Another review by @seoulbrova https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70dP...ature=youtu.be
P.S: I have more cases coming in oblique and caseology and all so ill post how those work with this here.
These companies should probably have options where the samsung logo gets hidden.

would you really like that?? i kind prefer mine as if there is nothing on the screen to preserve the orignal look. But then i am also the person whos like BEFORE and is against the after
Ordered one, hope it's as nice as it looks.
Are there any distributors of Coral products in Canada? The shipping costs bring this to about $60 CDN, which seems a bit high for me. Also, is Coral associated with Leaf (perhaps owned by them)?
I wanted to order this, but even with the $5 off coupon, it adds up to $30+. They charge $4.50 for first class mail shipping, which is ridiculous. $32 for a screen protector is a bit rich.

Please let us know how it fits! It seems like all the manufacturers are having problems with those curved edges with not only tempered glass, but also PET. Those slightly curved edges are making it difficult to find any screen protector that is full screen and doesn't have edge lifting or issues with cases. This is the first company with a full screen tempered glass protector that actually has a video of it on the s7 and addresses those issues. Still, it will be good to hear from someone that has tested it first hand that isn't paid by the company.

Is it ? everytime i ship something using first class mail it always ends up being over $5 honestly i cant comment on the weight as idk if i have ever shipped anything which weighs like a tempered glass but oh well i wont complain if it works properly, otherwise back it goes lol.
Whats with colored screen protectors this time around?
Are they trying to hide the rainbow effect?
I can confirm that this tempered glass protector would fit as advertised because i bought the plastic ones and they fit perfectly. Heres the link. I purchased one and should arrive in a week. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/17175543...49&var=470968620531&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Interesting, is that a knockoff Zagg? Not that the brand matters. As long as it fits, protects the screen and doesn't interfere with the touch sensititivy, I don't care about the brand. Maybe mfg finally figured out how to make these for the curved glass. However, the title states for Samsung Galaxy S6 S7 and I've seen plenty on Amazon that state full coverage for Galaxy S7. Then based on reviews, it seems they just rebranded an S6 protector. It does state beneath the title, [tested on Galaxy S7], and also gives the option to select S6 or S7. I hope it fits! If so, it means that there will be a lot more of these available and prices will come down. If you bought the PET one, did you notice any edge lifting?
@ -Gir-, in the video it actually shows the rainbow effect, so no, I don't think that's it. Maybe it helps with aligning it? I don't know, and it does seem sort of unnecessary. The one in the ebay link also has colored borders.
Dam, no getting these in the UK? I checked the site and they only ship to the states.

I am waiting on the glass one to arrive. I bought a 3 pack of the plastic ones and stuffed one of them up but second one fit on perfectly. Using a Spigen case and no screen lifting. Touch sensitivity is smooth as it is off. No problems at all
I got my onyx s7 yesterday, 1st day out of the house. Rocking a spigen case (need to change the case, rear is clear plastic and very slippy) add to that the screen is naked, im scare of breaking it.
Ive akways had tempered glass on my s5 and had no issues. ordered the crystal spigen but desperate for a tempered glass one in the uk
will wait for a price drop, they sell other items on amazon for much less. obviously this will be higher than most but hoping a small drop will happen soon
keep us posted on field tests

Looks like that one only ships in Australia, which is shame for me here in Canada. The price seems much better than the one from Coral, but maybe there is a quality difference. If I was in Oz I would likely order this one and try it out. The price of the Coral one is too high for me to order it right now.

Hope that Jetech works for you! Just checked again on Amazon and it looks like there are quite a few options now with the same description as the Coral one; namely 9H hardness, oleophobic coated and full coverage (Sorry, can't add urls, newbie poster, long time browser). Also, all seem to have the colored borders. Prices seem to range from about $8.99-$29.99 (Checked Amazon UK and there seems to be a few on there too!). I have noticed that like the Jetech, most of these state the thickness is 0.3 mm, which one reviewer stated made pressing the home button difficult for his fat fingers. Curious to know if anybody else has had that issue before. It seems this is a common thickness for the tempered glass. My last one had a gap under the home button so it wasn't an issue.
@ Leeum, thanks for the update on the fit of the plastic ones. Good to know you didn't have issues with edge lift with the Spigen case.
@ StickyGeko, I had the same case and almost dropped it first day! Immediately ordered another case and only kept that one on there long enough for the new one to arrive. Ended up going with the Spigen Slim Armor. Still a bit smooth for my liking, but it seems to have just a bit more padding.

ZAGG Glass Curved now available but........

Called Zagg yesterday to ask about the curved tempered glass for the S7 & S7 Edge and the girl said it's been shipping for the past week. You have to call and order as it's still not available on their website. Now here's the kicker, It has a black painted border around the edges. :silly:
I asked if it sticks to the actual display area and she said yes, but did not sound too sure. It was $44.99 but she said she would give me 10% off and another $10.00 off discount. After hearing about the black "Painted Border" I did not order and will wait to see what others find out.
If anyone has ordered and received one please post some pictures and a review. Thank You.

This sucks. Have to stick with the crappy film protectors for now.
The 2015 Moto X, Galaxy S6 from last year still don't have proper fitting edge to edge screen protectors. It will be a miracle if there is one made for this phone.

OK, Just installed the Zagg Curve and I'm pretty impressed with it. Went on perfect, lined up perfect, very smooth and overall one of the nicest protectors I've seen in a while. You would not even notice it's on the phone if you weren't looking for it.
The black on the protector is not the same pearly black like the phone but none the less looks pretty good.
I did manage to get a tiny piece of hair or something under the display but that's my own fault. :crying: Not going to take it off as I think it's a one stick deal and that's it.
The home button is noticeably lower but seems to work just fine. The capacitive buttons don't seem as bright with the protector on. The dot matrix is there but very hard to notice during normal use. Fingerprints hardly show up and the oleophobic coating is super smooth.
This opinion is based on about 1 hour with the protector on the phone . I'm going to let it sit a while before trying on some cases.
That piece of crap I got under the glass is going to drive me crazy. :silly: Here are a couple of pictures. The last picture you can see the dot matrix and piece of crap I got under the glass.
Another picture from a different angle.
Works great in the Otterbox Defender with the factory plastic protector removed.
I like my thin cases though.

Puregear Screen Protector - Fits like a glove

First time for me to use a screen protector. I've used the factory ones on my previous OP devices (6T, 6, 5T, 3). The 6T screen protector appears to be utter crap. After one month of normal usage it not only developed a few small bubbles but also a nice tear in it right over the keyboard making it a downright nuance to use. I could deal with the bubbles but the tear in it was the catalyst to get rid of it. Iit was like a zit and was rough to run your finger over while using keyboard. No bueno.
So I dug around a few threads didn't see much success. Poor fitment. Poor seller. Rainbow effects. etc. etc. etc.
Decided to make a trip to my local T-Mobile store. Bought the Puregear unit they had in stock. It's a bit pricey $39.99+tax but fits like a glove. Screen looks nice. The stock case fits over it without anything obvious protruding.
Other than cost cannot complain. Weird it's not listed on Puregear's website...
EDIT: Edited as I got a second camera to take the photos of it on the OnePlus 6T.
So is it slightly wider than the screen? Cause it looks very similar to the Nillkin which is only 10 bucks.
I think it lines up well with the screen. For some reason the last photo I put up isn't showing so I"ll throw it here.
Upon further inspection, there may be a faint rainbow effect actually on the edges.

You win some you lose some. Opted to pay for easy return and easy testing. I use the phone enough that I didn't want to wait thanks to the stock one getting messed up badly.
Now, I need to find one for the OnePlus 6 (not the 6T). My wife wants one for her device. Any recommendations on that front?

Don't have a 6 but Nillkin I think makes one for the 6 too.
By the way if you are happy with yours that's all that matters. I was real close on buying the Puregear. If the Nillkin did not work out I would of bought it too.

Thanks a lot it seems like the best choice after the PureGear one
I just picked up a Puregrear today and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The install was fine and adheres smoothly without any bubbles. But it's slightly too narrow. It fits well on the top and bottom but on both sides there is a sliver of visible screen that is not covered by the glass. It's not all that noticeable if looking directly dead on, but if the phone is even slightly angled you see thick line across the screen and it's a little annoying.

I also just applied a Puregear and have a small strip on the right side of the screen that isn't covered, but on the left side it lined up. I had also ordered and returned the XtremeGuard TGSP because it didn't cover the entire screen, and the Puregear does significantly better despite not quite covering everything.
Overall, I really like the look and feel of the glass compared the preapplied protector, and I don't notice the uncovered part unless I look for it. I'll keep it for now, but if I needed a new protector I'd probably try the official OP glass or whatever else is performing well for other folks here.
FWIW, I was able to use a coupon code to get a $10 discount when I ordered it from their website, so at least I didn't pay full price.

What's a great, super slick plastic film screen protector

Hi folks,
I'm used to using TGSP, and I bought one of the OP TGSPs for the 6T, but for now I'm leaving it unopened. I actually like the factory-applied plastic film, except for the fact that it picks up scratches so easily.
Is there a more durable or self-healing plastic that has that same slick feel and edge-to-edge coverage? I'd like to replace my factory one with a similar-but-less-scratchable alternative without adding the thickness of glass and without losing edge to edge coverage.
I've read lots of these threads but there are so many opinions and most of the action is around TGSP.
I'm in the US, so please focus on ones available here.
My current best guess from Amazon is the IQ Shield one.
Thanks!

Been using the one you posted for a month now and it's great. Perfect fit and even covers a lil bit of extra room at the bottom so if you're using nav gestures you won't be peeling at the bottom of it.
I used to use Armor Suit film protectors exclusively on all of my phones. May want to give them a look. I never had any issues with them at all.

My current best guess from Amazon is the IQ Shield one.
Thanks!

I'm using that one now. Closest to the stock one. Doesn't scratch easy at all. First try had 3 specks under by earpiece. 2nd attempt I have 1 speck in middle but it's liveable. I would definitely recommend it. The tgsp just blocks the edges. I didn't even have to retain fingerprints
Ok, I ordered it. Will install this weekend. Kinda scared to remove the factory one but it's already scratched after a month, and my phone lives in a case most of the time.
Will report back how it goes. Is it wet apply or dry?

Last night I removed the pre applied protector and put on the IQ shield one. It was an easy wet apply process. Got it on fine though maybe close to a mm too low; after it had mostly dried out by this morning I had a bit of an edge at the bottom where the screen curves. I burnished it down and hope it will stay. The protector is pretty full coverage, with a notch for the camera.
It was easy to work out the few bubbles while everything was wet, and I looked at the phone on edge using light reflections to see bumps to be squeegeed out. As expected there was some distortion while it was still wet, so I just set the phone aside until morning.
Fast forward 10 hours, and the distortion is gone. There is a definite orange peel "microbump" effect on the screen protector surface; hopefully that will diminish as it continues to dry out.
It's also not as slick as the original pre applied protector, at least not yet.
Let's see how it goes and will report back in a few days.

Approaching 48 hours. The IQShield protector is doing well. It feels a bit slicker to my touch than it used to, perhaps due to a slight haze of finger oils after being used for a while, or perhaps because it's fully dry now.
It still has the orange peel ripple effect on the surface. I'm attaching a picture of what a reflection of light looks like on it, so you can get an idea:

The material is soft; if you drag a fingernail across it, it will leave a trail until it squishes back out. This is the "self healing" property. Reminds me of the coating on the screen protector I had on my 3T.
I was hoping for a smoother, "harder" surface with the IQShield, but it is a high quality product. If you are looking for a full coverage plastic screen protector and like the slightly squishy self healing type, this one is a no brainer. Excellent wet apply process and it seems robust. If you are looking for "a replacement for glass, but something that won't break" this probably isn't for you.
I'm going to live with it for a month or two and see how I feel. I may eventually remove it and replace with a glass TGSP.

Thanks for your review/input. I was torn between this or the Skinomi one. I had a TGSP before from Omotion with the oem case and it landed face first and cracked the digitizer because it sat flush with the lip of the case. It was my kinda my fault though because I knew this and was waiting on my Rhinoshield bumper and couldn't wait to slap on my TGSP. Anyways got it fixed and always kinda wanted the orangy look because I never could afford Zaggs years ago [emoji38]

I remember the Zagg protectors! Had one on my DroidX in ~2010. Good product but it absorbed dye from my holster case and got gradually darker in regions of it where it had most contact with the inside of the holster. I sent it back eventually and got a free replacement; good warranty. I hope this IQShield one won't darken...
Plastic protectors need 7 to 10 days to settle down and give a glass like feeling

3 years experience
Couple weeks in now. Really liking the self healing protector. Sure it has a bit of orange peel effect but that doesn't impact use. It has held up well so far.

I will have the wet imak film protection any time now, though I wonder if I apply it or keep the stock one.
For people who applied third party film protection do you recommend it or no difference with stock?
IQshield is self healing and soft squishy not flat like the stock one. I like it after some use.

Doesn't fully cover the visible screen area, same as many cheaper protectors.
Im in the same boat as OP.
Really liked the pre-applied screen protector the 6T came with (does Oneplus not sell that one?)
Lasted about 2 months, but I really liked how clear it was.
I ordered the IQ Shield one, and while good, it has the orange skin effect going on that the included didnt have. Any recommended options for clear flim protectors for the 6T?

Yep, put mine on today, it sucks. Doesn't cover the whole screen, makes it look a little grainy, just a crappy product. Yeah maybe it's super strong but what's the point of it makes using the device a poor experience?

Iphone Xs Max screen protector is usable on 3a XL

So, I ordered a case and a set of screen protectors on Ebay. But being so picky of not using my pixel without screen protection, I went shopping and found an iPhone Xs Max tempered glass screen protector for $3 at a local TJ Maxx, and what do you know, it almost fits completely there is a small gap, but this is just a temporary fix until I get the Pixel specific ones.
Edit:
It is actually the Xs Max screen protector.

Mind sharing a picture? I'm curious to see the small gap and if it might cover anything necessary to leave open on the 3a XL. Namely, if it's the kind of thing where I can hunt for an iPhone XS screen protector that happens to have a gap in necessary places it might work better.
I currently have a cheap Chinese one on the screen and it has pretty bad edge lift. I've got another couple coming tomorrow that I'll try, but if I can find a decent iPhone XS or similar that is actually good quality and fits... must be better than cheap Chinese crap until we get good options, right?

For three bucks, I don't mind the small, maybe 1-2mm space in top and bottom. The speaker grill is open. The only thing is that the front facing camera is below the screen protector, but I believe it's a fixed focus one so I don't think it will affect it at all.
There is a small part that looks like an air bubble at the bottom right side, which is my fault. I lifted the screen protector after it was on to reposition it and that is where I slipped my fingernail to lift it.

Yes. It does. But I don't mind. It's a temporary solution and camera shots look ok.

Thanks for this info. I went to TJ Maxx and got one of these screen protectors and it works well. The gaps don't bother me at all. The selfie camera works fine through the protector as well.....
That fits it very well, the gap isn't that much larger than the actual 3a xl screen protector I have on.
The small gap actually makes it case friendly, plus the screen protector is full glue so there is no air between it and the screen. That means no rainbow effect, and no dust in between.
