OEM White G3 Battery Cover - G3 Accessories

I was rummaging around EBay and stumbled upon this nifty little cover. I'll assume by the image that this back plate does in fact support Qi/NFC. I have scoured the forums and Google for some Qi love for the LG G3 and have come up short. I was sorely disappointed with the VZW Circle case and I felt it necessary to spread the word. I even created an account just so I could let everyone know.I just placed my order today and will let everyone know of my results.

You might want to make sure that last one is official before you drop $69 on it. Looks to me like it says "for Lg G3", the official only says "Lg G3".
Just to give a rundown of what I have found since buying my wife the AT&T LG G3 on Sunday:
AT&T sells a LG quick circle wireless charging (Powermat, not QI) case that replaces the back battery cover for $60, though I only found 1 AT&T store in my area (Birmingham, AL) that had any in stock, and my wife didn't like the color option there.
Verizon and Sprint both sell a LG Quick circle case for $50 that actually just snaps onto the phone, without replacing the back battery cover. It does not include any type of added functionality, aside from the quick circle (ie: wireless charging). I believe verizon offers black and purple, while sprint offers black and gold (at least the stores we looked in, oddly nobody in this area has the phone or any LG brand cases in white, not sure why).
My wife liked the gold color at Sprint, so I bought her that, since she refused to use the phone until we got a cover for it, since her old phone had a crack from one corner diagonally all the way to the other corner.
I know I could order her something cheaper off amazon, but I wanted to get her a case yesterday so she could start using the new phone (mostly so I could start playing with it )
Sadly, with the phone only just now coming out here, the case options in general in retail stores are sadly lacking in qauntity. makes me mad when I walk in best buy and they have multiple aisles of iphone cases, and literally 1 choice for the LG G3 (a plain black hard shell case, don't even remember the manufacturer)
Here are a few Quick Circle cases that I fould while looking around.

Agreed, I bought the offical LG Quick Circle case offered at Sprint stores and found it lacks Qi or NFC, no prongs whatsoever as it attaches over the back cover (i.e., does not replace the back cover). Returned the case to Sprint, drove up the road to a Verizon store and bought their official LG Quick Circle case (the packaging looked identical to Sprint, but had a different SKU), opened it up and it is identical to the Sprint case w/o Qi or NFC. Returned the case to Verizon and am still on the hunt for a back to add Qi to my TMo G3.
By the way, see the sell sheet I located online for the Quick Circle, no model numbers provided, but note the footnotes for distinctions between carrier versions:

So do none of the U.S. variants (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-mobile) come with wireless charging capabilities out of the box, without the purchase of an accessory case?
And is AT&T the only carrier currently selling a case with wireless (even though it's not Qi) charging?
The only thing I am jealous of iphone owners over is the selection of accessories that they can choose from that are actually stocked in stores. I know we can find lots of stuff online, but I would like to see and feel the cases before I buy them. not a ton of selection right now out there in physical stores for this phone, though I guess it has only been out a few days, but still, wish they would have at the very least the official LG accessories in stock the day the phone's are released.

Damn those look legit but you know you're going to end up with crap...
I think I may go with the Sprint or Verizon one in black and just waiting for my local stores to get one in. The faster they do anyways the faster I drop $50 so no hurry.
Wireless charging is really slow is it not? I bought a Nokia Qi for my Nexus 7 and it was ridiculous so I returned it.

Looks to me like there are different types of flip cases that replace the back cover. I wouldn't want a case that didn't support both wireless charging and NFC.
"Genuine LG G3 F400 Quick Circle Case Smartphone Cellphone Wireless charging New" (sorry, still can't post links)
This looks like it's for the international version? (F400), but supports wireless charging and NFC. The rim of the circle also lights up, which is a feature I'd really like to have.
Note the word of caution in the beginning to the arrangement of contacts and different G3 versions.
Has anyone seen a flip case like this that is compatible with the Verizon (VS985) version?

It's a light pattern from the screen, and the cases themselves have a thin, clear plastic ring around the inside of the circle opening that the light from the screen shines through.
At least it is on the quick circle case from Sprint.

I posted this last week in the other quick circle case thread. I got my cover from them for my Verizon G3. Everything working as stated including the wireless charging.
Has anyone received their oem case yet? If so, are you pleased with it? I just ordered the phone today, but I'd like to have some feedback before buying a case. I'm not willing to spend $60 on a case, so I'm hoping the Chinese/Korean cases that are on eBay will work.

Add Qi Wireless Charging + NFC ~$14

So like many others I'm sure I thought the Verizon LG G3 included wireless charging. So I bought my Qi charger and put my phone on it only to find out it wouldn't work. I dug a bit deeper into the subject and found someone who had debunked the idea of Verizon leaving the wireless charging feature in the phone.
If you didn't know it, the Verizon LG G3 does not include Qi (or any) wireless charging. I found a replacement for the sticker in the back cover. I've seen others who bought the back cover and sticker for just a bit more aftermarket. But if you want to keep your shinny nice LG back cover this is for you. I bought two and are working great. (have not tested NFC functionality but the pin outs are there and have no reason to think that it doesn't work.
Here is the link. Shipping was decent and quite fast (faster than there projected time frame) I was happy with the purchase and can now Qi the LG G3!
ah, so it seems I'm new here and can't post with the link below. Either go to dealsishop dot com and search for it or piece the url back together.

The NFC works fine.
Just got mine in yesterday. Took about 3 days to get after ordering. Put it on this morning and both qi and NFC work great. It even charged with my case on, which is awesome.

Fast shipping and they work great.
I noticed that the phone gets little warm where you sit it on the Qi Charger but probably normal???
I ordered the back from the same site, the Verizon Black Back cover.
Got it today and nothing, but the back contacts look nothing like the site shows I have attached a photo. Looks like the contacts are not lining up correctly or are not raised enough to meet the back of the phone.
Have emailed the company, hopefully they will make it right.
I just got a sticker off eBay for $10 we will see what happens

Thanks for this.. I have been looking, reading reviews on Amazon and Ebay. There's two things that bother me about this. This is a flagship, premium phone, one of the best in my opinion. Yesterday, I went to Verizon to see if I could buy one there. 27.99 for the battery door, then 27.99 for the Qi Charger. thats over 50 bucks for something I ordered here for 27.99.. First off, why wasn't this on the phone originally? Secondly, why is Verizon trying to break the bank on something that should have already been standard on the phone? Sadly, I know the answer to the 2nd question. End rant here
Really though, I'm on XDA atleast 5 times a day and really never look at Accessories. Thanks for the great advice!
Finally got mine

Hi, I bought the same one, and it works perfectly!
Thanks for the recommendation.
I bought the same one on eBay as well. Wireless charging works great but NFC doesn't work at all. I've contacted the seller to see if I can get a replacement sticker.

I bought 2 of these. Installed the sticker without issue. The charging pad lights up, the phone says it is being wirelessly charged, but it is not. The percentage is actually going down while it says it is charging. Going to try a different charger tonight, but it does the same thing plugged into a computer.
As another poster said the NFC works fine the qi however does not work stock.
Also, I have had a really bad experience with those stickers. I probably bought about 5 and none of them worked. Returned them and received replacements and they still didn't work so, I went ahead and bought a battery door with the nfc and qi functionality built in and that has worked for me. Although the NFC is seemingly not as responsive as it was with the stock back.
If you want to drop some money the slimguard case is pretty cool and includes both, 320 is the US version. Mine took a month to get here. I was lucky with sticker on original back plate but it was a bulky sticker and seemed like back plate barely went back on. Adding a case didn't give the best qi charge rate so I just got slimguard
Zerolemon and NFC/QI stickers
Has anyone had any luck with modding/retro-fitting the zerolemon rugged case/extended battery (http://www.amazon.com/Warranty-Zero..._1_6?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1426945301&sr=1-6) with one of the Qi stickers? I'm not looking for the wireless charging as much as I am the NFC functionality as the case doesn't have pin-outs for it.
Yes, I have NFC and qi charging working fine with the Zerolemon case & 9000mah battery. I just carefully lined up the connections & affixed the connections part of the sticker to the phone with tape. Then put a small piece of foam on top of the connections to put pressure on the connections when the back cover parts are installed. I put in the battery & laid the coil part of the sticker over the battery. I then snapped the plastic back with the battery cutout carefully over both the battery & the sticker being aware not to break the wires between the connections & the coil when pinching them between the plastic & the top of the battery. A bit of a hack, but as long as you don't remove your battery that often it should hold up just fine.

Excellent, thank you! I've ordered the stickers and will attempt it soon!
How long does it take for a full charge wirelessly?
Well, I actually don't know exactly because I rarely drain the 9000mah battery all the way down, lol. Under normal use for me, I get down to 50-60% remaining be EOD and 6-7 hours on my Powerbot qi charger has it at full charge when I wake up. What I'd say is that I feel this charges nearly, if not just, as fast as it does plugged into a wall outlet. But, it does depend on the output of the charger/power adapter you are using so YMMV. Good luck putting it all together. This is my first qi charging setup and I am definitely loving not having to plug in as the Zerolemon case with it's added bulk and cover over the charging port made plugging in a tedious task.

Anoke G3 Battery Back Cover leather Case Qi/NFC - $16.88 @Amazon

I saw this while browsing for a new cover @Amazon(chose a Bugdroid). The info states that it will work with a D851 aka T-Mo G3, however the picture shows the version without the space so buyer beware on any model.

AirDock?

Kind of curious: has anyone tried the G3 with an AirDock:
http://www.theairdock.com/
Wondering if the curved back presents any problems with adhering to the micro-suction surface of the dock.
I have one and the charging works great. Only issue is that if the pad or surface isn't clean the phone doesn't like to stay put. The surface is some kind of nano technology. In my opinion it needs to be improved and the magnets need to be improved. The curved back does limit the overall contact surface area but I am getting a new SUPCASE and I am hoping that the material will stick better.
I have the AirDock, and it does not work with my cheap, Chinese Qi charging sticker. The very same sticker works on my Tylt Vu, however. I'm curious what Qi receiver you guys are using.
Thanks!
I found a couple of posts here on XDA that indicated the magnets in the Air Dock interfere with the Qi stickers. Air Dock (the company) doesn't recommend the mount for use with the G3.

Though on their website it clearly says supported (with additional hardware.) I assume this to mean with the QuickCircle charging case, which is horrendous and annoying. You are spot-on regarding the magnets. I asked if those can be removed, and support responded that they are necessary to keep the phone from sliding off. I am not convinced that is the case on the G3, because the phone slides off VERY easily without some sort of flat-back.
Sounds like G3 owners should just wait it out...
Me:
Howdy Howdy!
I noticed that the LG G3 is officially 'supported' (with additional hardware,) on your site, and I was curious if any developments have been made? I am still using the cheap Chinese sticker with my Tylt Vu, but of course that doesn't work on my original AirDock. Is there a recommended charging sticker, or do you guys still recommend the Circle case?
In all honesty, it's hard to recommend the naked G3 on the AirDock, because it can barely hold it. I have to clean my foam almost daily for it to stick, because the phone's back is curved. My friends with flat-back phones never seem to ever clean the foam and it works great.
Thank you!

AirDock Support:
Hi Steven,
There are a couple things that are going to be better about Version 2.0 and the G3.
The transmitter in V2.0 will work well with that aftermarket receiver sticker. That's the biggest difference. It's an upgraded transmitter from V1.0
We will also be supplying a special version of V2.0 that will be curved to match the back of your G3 so that you can have the same grip strength as your flat backed phone owning friends!
Thanks
Me:
Whoa, that's awesome! I wish there was a trade-in option because I've been pretty bummed about this one, despite getting a few friends to pick one up for their more well-suited phones.
Thank you for the update!
Sounds great, but I already came up with my own solution. I grafted the Qi charger and phone clamp from this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M685JTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (made by the same company as the Tylt Vu)
With the sticks-anywhere micro suction base of this:
http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Windsh...UTF8&qid=1417825105&sr=8-1&keywords=iottie+xl
My only real complaint is that the Qi emits a shrill beeeeep every time it gets power (i.e., when I turn the car on).
But if the Air Dock 2 described above had been available, I probably would have bought that one. Good news for future buyers.

I have the original airdock and have been using it with my G3 with no problems. I have a thin ringke case and use the airdock sticker and it charges fine. I'm considering getting the LG g3 slim guard case because I don't like having the sticker on my phone. I read someone on here write that the LG g3 slim guard case sticks to the airdock.
What Qi receiver are you using?
I'm using a replacement battery cover with qi sticker that I bought on Amazon. I'm guessing the company puts the sticker on an oem battery cover but it has qi and nfc

Strange, then you are the first with an AirDock to get it working with the Qi sticker. I have followed the threads very closely, and even AirDock says it won't work. Do you have a link to the sticker/cover you bought?
Thanks!
I do... But I don't think I can post it. But if you go to Amazon the seller is 38 Ave. It's an oem battery cover with qi and nfc. I also just ordered the LG g3 slim guard case. I've read it works and sticks to the airdock.
I finally received the original LG g3 slim guard case. It is for the US version. It works great with the airdock. Sticks to it and charges it with no issues.

Regardless of the input to the Qi charger, current Qi coils output at most 1 amp. But to answer your question, no, mine slowly discharges under the conditions you describe. If you're doing that for a long period, unplug the cable from the dock and plug it into your phone.

Dang. That's the entire time I've driving -- always. I should have done more research on Qi before ordering the sticker or any of these chargers. My Tylt has an almost impossible time keeping my phone charged when streaming and keeping the screen on at work. Nothing else going. Just heats up like crazy.

I don't seem to have any issues when I'm not streaming or using GPS. Just keeping the screen on seems to be fine. Make sure you're using a good USB cable. I found a couple of cheap ones I had wouldn't keep the phone charging consistently - it would keep cycling in and out of charge / discharge modes.
This won't help now, but there's a new Qi standard in development that is supposed to provide higher rates of charge. I do wonder how they'll deal with the extra heat, though.

QI + NFC Antenna/Receiver/Sticker

So after reading a bunch of posts about adding wireless charging and looking at a lot of QI+ NFC receivers on eBay and Amazon I had a question for you lot. The first few I saw had a heat spreading tape (the security sticker basically had copper on it to spread the heat) and haven't seen many since then (can't even find the originals that did). Should I worry about this? We all know this phone can get really hot. Yes I've applied some patches to help with it, but still, I was concerned!
If anyone could point me to a QI+NFC receiver that does have it, or an after market heat spreading security sticker, that'd be great! I'd also like to double check that the replacement NFC sticker continues to work with tags as well as beaming to another phone! (I'm asking because my GF got the Sprint Galaxy S4 and it doesn't seem to even acknowledge tags like mine does, ps, am using whiztag ntag216). Also, I'm using a Spigen Slim Armor case and want to make sure wireless charging works through it and NFC (tags and beaming) continue to work through it as well.
Thanks guys

So after reading a bunch of posts about adding wireless charging and looking at a lot of QI+ NFC receivers on eBay and Amazon I had a question for you lot. The first few I saw had a heat spreading tape (the security sticker basically had copper on it to spread the heat) and haven't seen many since then (can't even find the originals that did). Should I worry about this? We all know this phone can get really hot. Yes I've applied some patches to help with it, but still, I was concerned!

Heat spreader? My Verizon G3 (VS985) does not come with a heat spreader, but the NFC coil does look a bit like one. I replaced it with a white Qi+NFC sticker from ebay. There are two pieces. A black coil sticker with 4 contact points, and a white sticker that goes on top of the coil sticker (probably for protection). Qi charging works for 1 cm or so separation, and has no problem working through my Spigen Ultra Fit case. Not sure which variant of G3 you have, but make sure you have 4 contact pins on the back on your phone. Some G3 variant has two and does not support Qi.
I think one of the videos I watched initially showing installation mentioned the second sticker (to hold everything in place) was referred to as a heat spreader, which I read as a heat sink.
It is definitely not a heat spreader. It is a plastic-like sticker to keep the NFC sticker in place. My old Nexus 5 runs much hotter than my G3, so no need to worry about the heat issue.
