Try a factory reset and wipe cache from recovery then reboot. It will erase your appd data!

Stuck in boot: "Android upgrading" (rooted)

Hello and thanks for reading this. This is what happened:
So I've just rooted my phone with the CF-1.5 for the second time and installed GTAIII (and one other app) without thinking about the amount of space it would take.
90% through the installation i get a warning that the memory is almost full. Before i could push anything the screen went black and it rebooted.
I pass the Samsung logo but then it says "Android is upgrading: Optimizing apps 2/2" then: "Android is upgrading: Opening program" (but in Swedish so my translation might be a bit off).
After that it makes a short vibration, the LED blinks blue and after a small time of being black screen it returns to the "Android is upgrading: Optimizing apps 2/2" in an endless loop.
Can i do anything to skip the app-optimizing?
How can i make this better from recovery mode without any backups and without wiping everything to factory reset?
My initial guess is that i just have to make enough room for the upgrade and then it will boot normally. But how?
try to use the aroma file manager which you can use out of recovery mode.

i can't find aroma file manager. i have "CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 : : CF-v1.5".
I would happely wipe all apps as long as i get to keep the photos!
Perform factory reset in recovery doesn't delete your photos.

Thank you so much! i lost all apps and settings but that is nothing when i got to keep the pictures! Much appreciated!
Wrong thread, sorry.
I am stuck on this Android app optimizing after a Dalvik cache wipe.
This optimize will occur every time a Dalvik cache wipe is done.
I am using AROMA Filemanager to try to delete some apps so not to be optimized at boot and to avoid a factory reset.
What should I delete so to do this??
Is the .apk file (or .asec file if app instaled on sdcard -- located in /.android_secure folder) and related /data/data the only things I must delete???
EDIT: I tryed removing all my ROVIO Angry games and it worked!! All those games where installed on internal sdcard, so I deleted the related /data/data folders in Root and related app files .asec that where located on internal sdcard in the /.android_secure folder
Thank you very much!!
EDIT2: The problem was that I had an/some app/s that won't build Dalvik cache. This might be related to apps that where installed from market or backup (TitaniumBackup) and that where never runned once!! Before wiping Dalvik cache be sure to have all apps that where executed/opened/played at least one so to create correct database scructure!!

He can try and access the com.android.providers.contacts folder somewhere in /data/user or data/data folder by using recovery based aroma file manager(you might need to flash a cwm recovery), com.android.providers.contacts folder contains the database for your contacts, most probably backing this up and after reseting you can replace this to get your contact's back, if you want you can try to read the contacts.db using a database application like Sqlite.

[Q] Wiped dalvik cache using link2sd - apps wont load & processes crash

Hello!
Norwegian Noob here. I got the basics, nothing more.
I just used Link2SD to clean cache and to clean Dalvik Cache, and i may also have cleaned 2nd partition garbage.
Then i rebooted, and nothing happens. it just kept staying at the white "HTC" -screen over the night (gave it some time).
The morning after i went into CWM to wipe dalvik cache and clean cache. Then at reboot it needs some time (10min, i guess dalvik buildup?).
When its done and it gets to the "desktop", the apps just say "loading".
When i try to do something at all, i just get message saying for example "sorry, settings (process com.android.settings) stopped. try again".
Some apps can be used, like go sms pro, clockwidget, flashlightwidget, but no other apps like calculator, calendar, tapatalk.
Now if i try to reboot, it just keeps staying at the white HTC-screen. Then i have to take out battery, boot into recovery, delete dalvik cache again, and reboot. then the same thing happens again.
I would be happy for any suggestions i can get (and sorry for my bad english:laugh: )
My system:
HTC Desire A8181
Android 2.3
Cyanogen 7.2.0.1 (if i dont remember completely wrong, cant check as process crash)
Additional info; link2sd may have been automatically installed to SD, and may not have been moved to phone by me before i wiped dalvik via link2sd-settings.
No one with any suggestions?
Have to delete everything and install rom again if i cant solve this :-\

Sounds like you did more than delete just your cache and dalvik, couldn't say for sure but my guess is you have some apps or at least data installed in a partition you erased.
You will almost for surely need to wipe all and flash ROM or backup. You can try to fix permissions in recovery but I doubt it will help.

[Q] Help! Everything stops responding...

So yesterday, I updated an app but then my phone says "storage space is running out". And then, everything that I tried to open just crashed with all these popups
"Unfortunately, Google Play services had stopped."
"Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped."
"Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
"Unfortunately, Nova Launcher has stopped."
etc.
So i can't even access the home screen or any settings to make more storage space...I was looking online and a few people suggested deleting the dumpstate files but I can't even connect my phone to the computer
Any advice??
Try to boot into recovery to wipe dalvik and cache. If that works and allows the phone to boot without crashing, delete the app that you updated, and do the wipes again......
Then download SD maid (or similar) and perform a system cleanup.......
If none of that works, it may be necessary to factory reset in recovery........

I wiped dalvik and caches...still not working, is a factory reset the only option left?
in recovery, should i change the mount settings? i got an error "E:Can't mount /sdcard/"
what should be mounted and what should be unmounted?
Yes.
If you can get your phone to boot and remain usable for long enough, download SD Maid and use it to get rid of any temporary/old/unused files that may be lurking in the phones system.......

[HELP] Unable to install apps from ".apk" files

[HELP] Unable to install apps from ".apk" files
Edit: My phone is running AOSParadox.
This is what happened. I hope you read this fully.
(But still, you can skip to point no 5 , if this? looks long/big ? And if you want to know the "actual" problem, skip to point no 10.)
1)I downloaded new "phone" app apk and installed.
2)new app got installed as a separate app as a result of which there were 2 'phone' apps (one of which is a system app)
3)To make the newer 'phone' app as system app, I deleted the older one(yes, I had rooted the ROM) , and using ES file explorer, I copied the newer 'phone' apk to /system/priv-app & changed the permission to rw- r-- r-- . Rebooted.
4)After this, I could make phone calls...BUT, after dialing a number, the dialer interface ( the screen where the controls like disconnecting a call, loud speaker toggle, mute toggle exist) was simply not appearing. Hence, I could not do anything but listen to the calls that I dial.
5)So, I uninstalled this app, and reflashed the whole ROM and rebooted to system.
6)'Google play service stopped' kept on popping up. So,flashed open gapps nano.
7)now, 'setup wizard stopped' started to pop up.
8)Hence I deleted setupwizard.apk from /system/priv-app in twrp file manager & rebooted, And the pop up stopped.
9) But, many other app crashing messages started to pop up.( like Google+, Google play games, messenger(Google) ie, all the 'Google' apps that are NOT part of Gapps). So, I wiped ONLY system and flashed the ROM and Gapps. After this also, 'setup wizard stopped' started to pop up. So, I repeated step 8.
10) Now, I cannot install ANY "apk". If I try to install , it says that there is "parsing error". But, I can install an app if I download it DIRECTLY from play store.
Help me to install the '.apk' file.
Edit: do NOT suggest me to perform a full wipe/clean install of the ROM. please.
Thanks everyone!
try this, take a nandroid of only your data partition (without compression) , change your file systems on /data & /cache (if its ext4, then okay, but if its f2fs then change to ext4) , the do a clean flash, boot into the rom, then reboot back to recovery, wipe ONLY DATA and restore the nandroid backup, wipe cache & dalvik and reboot.
see is it helps
Also, fix the title of this thread

About fixing the title, how can I do it?
Edit: Do you know what is the problem?
In the OP , I have written not to suggest a clean install/full wipe(which you still did), because, I want to know what is that I did wrong in the process.
Thank you anyway.

best i can say is that you tried messing around symlinked system apps, the gapps problem confirms that, maybe Googlepackage installer got screwed up, try installing gapps again without any wipes, if that doesnt work, maybe a full wipe is the only option.

I re-flashed the Gapps without wiping anything. After booting into the system, after unlocking, 'unfortunately setup wizard has stopped working ' kept on popping up.
Why?
Anyway, I think I have to do clean install. Just curious about what's happening.
