Moko Keyboard case and HDE Bluetooth Mouse - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Accessories

Just ordered the following for my tablet to attempt to turn it into a hybrid tablet/mini-laptop, total investment about $47. Should arrive Wednesday, reviews to follow a few days after...
Moko Samsung Galaxy Note PRO & Tab PRO 12.2 Case - Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Cover for Galaxy NotePRO & TabPRO 12.2 Android Tablet, BLUE (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HXS76ZO/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_CfK8tb0YMFC64
HDE Ergonomic Bluetooth 3.0 Wireless Optical Mouse for PC, Android 3.1+ Tablets w/ Adjustable DPI (Blue)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H7KW37O/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_rcK8tb0P5CAQQ
Any advance opinions or discussion are welcome.

Case and mouse arrived, two days via Amazon Prime as expected.
The mouse feels very cheap and lightweight but functional. One of the buttons was lodged out of place when it arrived but it snapped back in effortlessly. Small scratch on the top too. Definitely low-end device. Picture next to a standard sized MS mouse for reference.
The case seems high quality and was well packed. The keyboard and cover strap hold firmly. The keyboard itself has a good feel but is smaller than I expected.
Full review of setup and usage to follow.

Thanks for posting.
First reaction I had to your links when you ordered was that the keyboard was too small, the bezels on left/right were large and in order to be close to a normal laptop keyboard the keyboard would have to be as wide as the display of the Note Pro.
How does it feel to type on it? Cramped?

I'll have to let you know with some use, since it arrived at work and my tablet is at home, but just some "play" typing to try it out seems just OK, it is no smaller than the keyboard on a 10" Netbook or Chromebook, but if you are a touch-typer that does a lot of typing I could see where it would get uncomfortable with a lot of use, and the positioning notches on the F/J are barely noticeable. Personally, my use of it will include mostly web browsing, forums, email and such, so the advantage of keeping the screen real estate when typing should be worth it.
And yes, it does feel slightly "cramped"...

Thanks!
Sounds decent for the price, can't go wrong.

Review Part 1 - Installation
Well, first off everything went well, and I am typing this on my new keyboard and mouse!
I grabbed my tablet and pulled my old $10 case off... dumpster for that one... and put my Note Pro into the MoKo case. It fit snug, almost tight, but in the right area, the case seems well constructed and it fits very well, even the velco strap that holds the bottom part fit perfectly. I did quickly note that although this case was supposed to have magnets to turn off the screen when closed and turn it on when opened, it does not but so far I have not found that to be a real problem. The screen will timeout and shut off at the assigned time delay. All ports, the S-Pen, and the cameras are easily accessible and not obscured at all. As far as a case goes, it works well.
The keyboard was simple to setup, I didn't even look at the instructions. I turned on Bluetooth in the tablet, turned on the keyboard and pressed and held the BlueTooth button for a couple seconds, then tapped Scan on the tablet, the keyboard was instantly found and a window popped up asking me to enter a 6 or 7 digit number string on the tablet and Enter and I did so and it was in sync and worked perfectly from then on.
As far as the keyboard goes, it works OK... It is small and a little cramped, but so far this post is going well as I get used to the keyboard. On the keyboard there is a Home and Back button, as well as some handy shortcuts for Brightness, Volume, Mute, media control, copy/paste functions, shortcut to Email (haven't figured out how to change it to Gmail yet), a "Language Key" which seems to do nothing but display a toast message that says "English(US)", and a Lock/Sleep button. All very handy, but wait, something is missing (or perhaps I don't know how to make it work), there is no Recents Apps or Multitasking button so I still have to tap the Recents button on the tablet to bring up the recent apps menu. There is also no DELete key, there is a backspace which is quite close to the Sleep/Lock button and I have bumped it a few times, but no delete key... Odd, is this an Android thing? Also, only one Shift button on the left side, none on the right. If you pause for a minute or so, the keyboard seems to go into a sleep or battery saving mode, tapping a key wakes it up.
The mouse was about as easy, I put in 2 AAA batteries and turned it on, held all three main mouse buttons and tapped Scan on the tablet, it came up almost instantly and I clicked Pair and it just worked from there. Took me a minute to figure out the mouse though, I have never used one in Android, Left click is fairly normal (like a screen tap), Right click is the equivelent of Back, Middle click same as Home. There are two buttons on the side that I cannot figure out, one seems to be a duplicate back and the other does nothing. There is a DPI button on the top but it doesn't seem to do anything when I click it at all. The documentation with the mouse is basically worthless. On the bright side, it seems to work well without any modifications or settings and although it is small, I had no issues navigating anything with it. The mouse also seems to have a power save mode that kicks in after about 5 minutes, requiring a double tap to "wake up"
All in all for a total investment of under $50, I am fairly satisified it will be able to replace my laptop for my use, but people who type quite a bit should look for a better keyboard.
I will go through a few days of use before I update anymore, any questions or comments, feel free.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 using Tapatalk

So after using this keyboard/mouse combo with my Note as a laptop replacement for a 3 day weekend on the road, I am fairly happy with the result... I didn't even bother to take my laptop and I didn't miss it, except one time I wish I had Flash (not a keyboard/mouse thing, just to lazy to get it working on my Note).
After about 10 hours of use, the keyboard and mouse worked fine, I had no issues at all and the batteries held up with no problems (as expected).
I still would not recommend this keyboard case for someone who types a lot or on a regular basis, it is not the most comfortable for extended use in typing long reports or even several lengthy emails... but for normal web browsing, forums, and emails, it works fine.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Hey guys I just ordered this and will let you know how I go:
http://wap.ebay.co.uk/Pages/ViewIte...l?ViewItem&item=140460255965&autoredirect=off
It's a case for the Zt-180. I checked and the measurements of the Zt-180 and gtab are very similar. I am fairly sure it will fit and I can see in the pic that the corner loops look to be elastic as well.
It should effectively fit similar to that kindle one others have been buying but the corner loops will be more flexible hopefully meaning that there is no need to cut off one corner like the kindle one.
Hi BAM,
I'd love to know how did it go with your case . I've got the same idea but since you are ahead of me so can i get a bit of feedback please.cheers..
Is it this one?
eBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Leather-Case...ltDomain_0&hash=item483eb6c286#ht_1763wt_1139
$12.79 with free shipping.
Size: 10.6" x 7.09" x 0.59"
It has a stand built in as well. Since it's not that expensive, I went ahead and bought it, along with this bluetooth keyboard/touch pad combo:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Rii-Mini-Wi...ltDomain_0&hash=item4cf4a653c5#ht_6664wt_1200
$38 + $10sh, $48 total.
All in all, $60 spent. I also bought two docks from it2steve, I'm planning on setting up one dock on my nightstand, and then another dock in my living room for my tv. Then I could sit on the couch and type/control the tablet using the bluetooth device above. That's my logic at least, we'll see how it plays out.
I can see that set up you have working fine except the HDMI picture quality is lacking. Wish it output a better 1080p image to the screen via the dock. I also wish we can have profiles for the docked and undocked state. Let's say we have a way of automatically disabling the Wi-Fi, Adjust the brightness, enable blue tooth and enabling the HDMI all when in the docked state...now that would be great. But I still do like the dock.
All, remember that the quality of the 1080p playback will depend on the encoding used to create the video on the gTab to begin with. If i remember several posts by Robeet and others, high profile will not work on the Tegra2 CPUs, and we've already condensed the quality of the original to scale down to fit the 10" screen.
If you are expecting the lower quality to be upscaled, I think you'll be sorely disappointed.
I just received this case and so far it's not bad. I like that it hides the buttons on the right that I'm always pressing by accident and getting kicked out of whatever I'm in. The stand is not as sturdy as I'd like but it works. For the price, this is worth it for me.

Well I just bought one of those cases although it looks like it covers the camera port so I may need to do some modifying but great deal nonetheless. Hopefully it fits the tablet snug.

Nah its not that case.
I am still waiting on delivery as I bought it through ebay uk and I live in australia. It takes ages for UK items to arrive.
The case I bought has corner loops just like the kindle dx case but from the picture i saw it looks like the corner loops are half elastic hopefully eliminating the issue that the dx owners have had.
The measurements however look almost spot on.
Will definitely update soon. I expect the case to arrive this week. Fingers crossed!
Should look like this:
http://www.digibite.co.uk/ebay_img/10_cases/lc_no2_5 (Small).jpg
BAM
It fits perfectly! Like a glove!
There's no cutting stretching or modifying required. As I suspected the loops are part leather part elastic so it hugs the corners with enough freedom to access everything. Power plug still accessible, USB and sdmicro ok, and nothing else is blocked.
The leather is firm but feels soft. There's a slide in tag rather than a button/buckle to keep it closed. It works well and means your not pressing against the screen.
I'll post up pics in a day or so as I'm cutting into drinking time now.
ZT-180 case
I have an ePad ZT-180 (which died). I think it is the same as the aPad. It came with a leatherette folding case that has a built-in keyboard. It is an exact fit. Not only that but the USB keyboard works with the G-tablet. One of the clamps interferes with access to the USB port but a few nibbles with nibbling tool made a notch big enough for the USB connector an still left it functional for holding the tablet in place. - Jim
does it work as a stand?
No it's just a folio type case not doubling as a stand.
And i've updated the first post with pics to show how it looks.

[Q] Capacitive stylys

Hi all,
I found a nice capacitive stylus and cheap at the same time, so I was wondering how many of you are considering it? Have you used one before?
My point is that it will take care of the fingerprints (most of them), it is small enough to keep on you at all times without noticing... On the other hand you can't do multitouch....
Share your thoughts,
rio
I bought one for use with my Galaxy Tab, but to be honest I never really use it, and I don't feel the need to use it with TF either.
Regards,
Dave
They're only any use if you do enough drawing/painting. Pointless for anything else imho. These apps are a bit thin on the ground atm though. It works ok in Sketchbook Mobile, which is about the only half decent app I've found, but it only works in portrait mode. If you know of any better apps please let me know.
I picked up a BoxWave mini Capacitive Stylus from ebay, image of it should be below.

It clips into the headphone port on the device, so your not going to loose it when its not in use.
I find it pretty good, i don't use it all the time, only when needed or i want to do something on the screen that is detailed.
Hope this helps
Thanks guys,
I guess I should have asked before I ordered the thingy.

Never tried using a stylus on a capacative screen before, so I'd like to know if they're any good for taking math notes etc? Considering getting the transformer if I can justify getting it

Hi guys,
Not to step on any toes, but I bought a stylus exactly like that one, and have been using it for 2 days now. It is small and compact, quite nice.
I find it really useful on the Transformer, because of the quality I guess: it is as good as a finger and bit more precise. And there are no longer finger traces on my screen!!!!
I tried using it with my HD2 and that did not go so well. The stylus is only good for "clicking", anything else like scrolling, sliding... the stylus is close to useless!?!?!
Anyway, just my experience,
rio

When i think about it, the stylus works with the HD2 but requires a lot more force.... maybe due to the screen protector that i have on the HD2.

PS. The SWYPE style keyboard is amazing
a pen digitizer should work for taking notes right?
I'd like to be able to open up a meeting agenda and write notes on it using the tablet.

if i were to get a stylus, i would prolly use it for writing/note taking and stuff for class so i would prolly choose the targus stylus (http://www.amazon.com/Targus-Stylus...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1304073267&sr=1-1)
I dont know if there are other styli that are really good/meant for handwriting but that one seems good

I use it to underline and annotate PDFs. You'll take notes faster if you write it on paper and then use the camera to take a picture.
On my g-Tab, the stylus will not work well if your hand touches the screen at any point. That means you need to write while hovering your hand, or use something to prop your hand up. Wearing gloves will not help.

I have purchased the Boxwave stylus ( BoxWave Capacitive iPad Stylus (Jet Black) - not the one pictured earlier) and find that it works pretty well for writepad or Tabnotes ( trial only at the moment) for handwriting however, i am now hooked on Flext9 keyboard using the swipe option, since the last update, it is extremely accurate and I find myself using the stylus with it which makes it ideal as the notes are produced quicker than handwriting and can easily be emailed as they are typed as opposed to handwritten.
If you need to annotate PDFs, use easy PDF from the market as it has some fantastic options for annotation and costs approximately 80 pence which is a bargain, again ideal when used with a stylus.
Got my Boxwave mini stylus today and also the Asus Sleeve.
You know what? The stylus is too mini. It's a bit hard to hold while doing stuff on the Transformer in the Sleeve slanted.
Shoulda bought a regular pen sized stylus.
A side note for those of you ordering styluses, Handrite is the best note taking app I have found. I have been using the free version for a few days with my stylus (Acase from Amazon), and it works like a charm. The stylus is also works great on the TF

There is no digitizer built into the tablet. On a side note I played with my friend's Asus EP121. Windows 7 tablet with 12.1" screen and Wacom digitizer built in. Boy was that small pen accurate and fun to use. Anyone who wants a Windows 7 tablet that is definitely the one to look into.

Can you write with the pen while your hand is resting on the screen, or do you have to have only the tip touching?

[Q] Stylus battery life - what did I do wrong?

I picked up a stylus for my flyer on Thursday in England (GBP40 was slightly cheaper than $80). It's barely Sunday and somehow the battery is completely dead on the stylus. And AAAA batteries are not as easy to come by as other battery types.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what causes the pen to run down the battery? It doesn't have an on/off switch. I'd hope it isn't drawing any power when the screen is turned off.
I got a leather nook case with a front pocket that holds the pen and a few other accessories. I hope it isn't the proximity of the pen to the screen that causes it to run down.
Battery should last a year. You might find that one of the two buttons may be pressed by accident and that could lead to a discharge.
My Flyer is over 3 weeks old and I use the stylus every day and no issues with the battery.

The included battery may also have been discharged when you got it. If it happens with a new battery then I would start to wonder if something was wrong.
Strangely, the pen started working again. Not sure what was wrong with it before. Hope its not a dodgy pen...
I have the same problem here
I have the same problem. However I am on my 5th AAAA battery and have already tried the 6 AAAA from a 9v battery. None of them lasted more than one or two weeks. As you might understand that is both very annoying and frustrating. I'm not living in the Us and have only a shop that sells AAAA nearby. So those AAAA may come discharged, but at least the ones from the 9v battery should work, right? Maybe it's from the pen? A friend bought it at Best Buy like 6 months ago and don't have the box or the receipt. What should I do? Buy a new pen (- I dislike this option A LOT!) ?
I thought about buying rechargeable AAAA batteries, but the only ones I found were this ones, on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AAAA-Rechargeable-Batteries-X-2-Charger-new-/320689614333?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item4aaa972dfd#ht_1676wt_1139.They don't exactly inspire thrust, so once again what do you recommend I do?
Thanks in advance,
DD47

If you look closely the tip on the pen moves back when pressed to the screen.
That is how it makes contact with the battery.
On my flyer if I press the pen very lightly on the screen it will not write.
Until I press hard enough to move the tip back into the body.
Perhaps your tip is stuck making contact or is getting pushed back when you store it.

Well, either you're wrong or my pen is malfunctioning. I put in a new AAAA battery, and used for a couple of minutes: everything worked fine - This was Day 1. In both days 2 and 3, I didn't use the pen. It was just standing there, no nibs or buttons being pressed. Day 4 - I go to the Notes App, and I start writing with the pen. I am able to write one sentence right and then the pens starts writing before it touches the screen. And I know from experience that after this starts happening the battery won't last a week. And it won't work properly again.
So, what should I do? Do I need to buy a new pen (as I said I'm not very keen on this option...) ?
Thanks in advance,
DD47
Quick question is your flyer in a case and are you charging it when this happens?
If so try unplugging it then touch the side with your finger (the metal part).
This could be a static discharge

My Flyer was in a case, but at no time charging...
Any other suggestion?
Thanks,

Because the pen is writing before touching the screen, that sounds like static discharge.
Try taking it out of the case and holding the metal back while writing
I´m sorry for the late reply, but I went on holidays and came back only recently. I tried to do what you said. I put the new AAAA battery inside my pen. I take my flyer out of its' case, hold the metal part and try the pen - it works. I go sleep. Thee following day at the afternoon, I take the flyer out of it's case, hold the metal part and I try the pen again - it no longer works.
Please more suggestions - I'm desperate here for a solution for this so frustrating problem!
Come on! I'm sure a bunch of you know an answer to my problem. Why isn´t anybody even trying? Please, for God's sake, just give it a try.

I experience the same issue. sorry I don't have a solid solution. I just keep fiddling with it (take out and put back in the battery - sometimes numerous times before it works properly) until it works properly. I know, it's very frustrating isn't it

Yes, indeed it is. But the wrost is that nobody even seems to care...
So, what does it takes to solve my problem - do you want rewards or something!? Let's put it this way: try to answer our problem (mine and GMAN1722's) and if permanently works, I'll see what I can do in return. I mean, does it cost you that much to tap a few words in your keyboard?
Thanks in advance,

I too have recently been pulling out my hair due to stylus problems most recently. I've been living with the issues, and constantly restarting my tablet and removing and reinstalling the battery of my stylus to no avail. However, I believe I may have found a fix on another forum.
I followed these directions, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/hp-slate/48371-inside-pen.html and cleaned all points of contact on the stylus to get the pen to work as it did when things were new.

-The barrel edge that makes contact with the stylus cap on the pointy end
-The back side of the board that makes contact with the positive end of the battery

There are some hack with alkaline batteries (6LR61):
Most nine-volt alkaline batteries are constructed of six individual 1.5V LR61 cells enclosed in a wrapper. These cells are slightly smaller than LR8D425 AAAA cells and can be used in their place for some devices, even though they are 3.5 mm shorter. Carbon-zinc types are made with six flat cells in a stack, enclosed in a moisture-resistant wrapper to prevent drying.
So you can easily buy this 6LR61 and take six batteries for your Magic Pen. I'm in russia and we have NO AAAA, but it solved my problem.

Sony Tablet S Cradle SGPDS1

I bought the Sony Tablet S Cradle along with the tablet, planningto use it as a photo frame as Sony Advertised.
It turns out, the Cradle itself works as expected. However, the software part is not so great. When you put in the Tablet onto the cradle, you have three apps to choose to start (you can set one of them to be default): a clock, the picture gallary, or the chumby social feed.
All looks good until you touch the screen. It will go back to the lock screen or the home screen and will not come back automatically. You have to either reinsert the tablet or start the app yourself. On the contract, If you want to use it and pick it up from cradle, it will not go to lock screen automatically, you have to touch it again.
Overall not so user friendly.
The cradle does have two view angles. Adjusted but push the support up and down. The 30% angle is perferct for me to use as photo frame or tap. It feels solid and has the weight to support the tablet. The only complaint about the hardware is the power slot, just too narrow for an adult's finger when you try to push the power plug into it.

Me Want! The pictures aren't showing up for me. Where are you from? I need the accessories (UK) but haven't seen them anywhere yet. Have you tried pressing the home button to get back to the clock etc? The Xperia Play is the same and when you press the home button it goes back to the clock screen.
The Pictures are on a file server. Sorry I forgot to turn on the link permission.
Should be fixed now.
i was planing to get that but it costs wayy too much and now this?
i certainly dont wants the hassle..
Am I reading this wrong? So when its in its cradle you can only run 1 of 3 applications? (Clock, Gallery, or Chumby) You cant watch a movie, or listen to music?

No, you can run what you like but you can get the tablet s to run any one of those 3 apps by default. i.e. to automatically run as a photo frame when you dock.
Ahhh.... lol, ok pheww... i was like wth? man that woud have been so retarded to only be able to use 3 apps when docked! I was about to take my tablet back to the store!... lol
I received my cradle today. Looks like the best place to keep it is my bedside table. It's Desk Clock app is far smarter than my alarm clock. You can set unique alarm times for different days of the week, and tap the upper right corner icon to greatly dim the screen yet leave the time still visible in a dark room.
The Chumby app cycles through several different sub-apps including many clock faces, weather, stocks, Facebook, a photo site, and several Japanese language sites. Shouldn't be a bad distraction if you park the tablet in the cradle on your desk at work.
For $39 it is not a bad value compared to what other cradles/docks sell for. Absolutely no outputs from the cradle though. Simply charges when tablet is in place. It recharged mine even with the Chumby app, screen, and WiFi on all the time. This may be why they used the beefy AC adapter they chose.
Ok, my short review is up. Not much to say about the cradle since it's basically just a charging stand. Have a look anyway. Comments welcome there or here .

I have yet to test it out but you can set a default cradle App, so when you set it into the cradle the app will run Auto then you can click the screen to change the app or do whatever you want.
I have put the cradle on my bedside table it’s great for listen to music, watching a video clip (I use the DLNA feature to pull music and videos from my computer so I don't take up my internal memory). The clock app is simple and beautiful as said above comes with good selection of alarms. The stand takes up allot less room then just plugging the tablet ito a charger and laying it down. I find that it was worth the money.
Ive had it since day 2, it is incredibly easy to set in, I have a dock for my droid x, and thats just a nightmare. Id say its almost a neccessity if you want drop and go charging, no cable fumblings.
I have zero qualms with the dock. I did not know till I read this post though, that it can pivot more, I usually inspect everything when I get something new.

Yeah, I agree. I'm glad mine arrived the same day as the tablet. It really is a must have.
Does the cradle charge the tablet, or do you still use the stock charger?

The stock charger plugs into the cradle.
Got the cradle free with the Tablet at sony shop, going to try it out now
I own the dock as well, I love the picture frame functionality but I really feel they missed an opportunity without a PC connectivity option on the dock. At least offer a 3.5mm jack. I would have glady paid an extra 15 bucks knowing I could dock the tablet and have easy connection to better speakers for music playback. Now I have to breakout the wireless bluetooth adapter, which works, but is kinda dumb since the speakers are like 3 inches away from where the tablet's dock is.
I would still recommend it for purchase from the aesthetic value, but still would have loved to see more thought put into its overall usefulness. In its current state, its a good buy, but not a necessity.

Agreed...I got the dock a couple of days ago from Amazon for $35 (actually 25 because of my purchase of NBA 2k12). The dock is very sleek but definitely a vanity purchase. It doesn't offer any other functionality that I would have appreciated like an HDMI out or any other inputs. It does however make my tablet into an elegant picture frame and makes playing games on my tablet hands free (since I have an OTG cable and logitech contoller).
Thanks so much for all the feedback on this item. I just placed an order, it looks great!
Got anyone in the UK John Lewis are selling the official cradle for only £29 delivered!!!!
http://www.johnlewis.com/231396239/Product.aspx
Shame I already got one and I forked out £34 for mine
I have this, it's great. It was included with my tab as I pre-ordered with Sony.
For anyone who says it's too expensive, this thing actually costs $69(!!) in Australia. You don't know how good you have it. The 16GB tablet here costs $580(!!) also. The Australian dollar is currently 'worth' 1.02 US dollars as well, just add insult to injury. We get massively ripped off here on a scale you could never imagine.

Sharon Keyboard "case" - Tab Pro 10.1

Hi, I thought I'd share this keyboard I bought. I bought an "VSO Slim Smart Cover" (without keyboard), but as I use my tablet mainly at home, I quickly got frustrated at how bulky it was and abandoned it except for when travelling, but the magnet wasn't strong enough so it would open on its own. Also, I do need to do some proper writing on occasion, but not often enough to justify buying (and carrying around) a laptop. So I found this keyboard that acts as a screen cover, cost me 40 € on Amazon.
Fit is perfect, clips and unclips easily enough and completely protects the screen. The tablet can be propped up, though in portrait mode the weight of the tablet means it won't take much to topple it backwards (but it won't topple on its own). It even comes with a bag to protect you tablet from dust while travelling. It weighs about 225g so it's nice and light, barely more than my previous cover, and recharges via USB. I prefer this to a case with an integrated keyboard because when I'm not using the keyboard, I can just put it aside and use the tablet without it being weighed down by a bulky case.
I was a little disappointed about the key size, which is about 70 % of a PC keyboard. So if you type with 10 fingers it might be a squeeze, but for everyone else I think you can adapt quite quickly, and the keys are proper keys, not like the Microsoft Surface keyboards where you can't feel if you hit the key or not...
Mine is an AZERTY, but of course they make QWERTY.

thanks for the post as i am always looking to improve from the poor selection we have as 10.1 owners. i bought one reviewed in here with a specific Android keyboard which is GREAT for getting things done but since most arent Android keyboards you will really appreciate External Keyboard Helper.
not only does it allow quick launch keys for mail, browser, menu, back, etc... but it also stops the annoying small on screen popup keyboard that can occur.
Am I alone in really not liking cases like these? You can't use it like a tablet with that thing on there because it doesn't hinge to the back, you can't type on your lap because the tablet just sits in a loose slot rather than being attached. It seems to ONLY exist to turn your tablet into a desktop, to put it in a bag and then sit it on a table and type. The tablet attached that thing is completely non-mobile. It's portable, but no longer mobile.

I can't disagree with you more. Yes, like any keyboard, this transforms your tablet into a mini laptop, that's why I bought it. I have no use for a complete cover with integrated keyboard as they are heavier and bulkier. Plus they fully attach to your tablet, they're not meant to be taken off often. So whatever you're doing you have to lug the cover around with it. Sitting in bed reading comics, I have zero use for a cover. Playing angry birds, I have zero use for a cover. Browsing the web, I have zero use for a cover.
This keyboard sits on a shelf when I'm at home, because I have no need for it. But when I'm away from home, it's no heavier than a cover without a keyboard, and protects the screen better than a lot of covers. When I open it up, the keyboard comes away, so I can either choose to use it, to either prop the keyboard up or actually type, or put it back in my bag and just use the tablet. Again, this is no heavier than most of the basic non-keyboard cases, so it's not extra weight. For me, this type of case makes the tablet much more mobile as you get to use the tablet without a case...
So I'm sorry, I don't understand your objections.
You got a link to where you purchased this? Or a model # or anything? I am having an absolute terrible time getting a keyboard for my pro 10.1. I bought the logitech one thinking I might be able to modify it to fit. No luck. I bought a M-Edge Stealth slim case that seemed like it might work great, only to find that the home button ceases to function when in the case. Im just about 20 minutes from returning this tablet.

Well I couldn't see it on the US Amazon site. But here is the one I got (AZERTY) :
http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00I44XXO4/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I found the UK version here (QWERTY) :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sharon-Sams...=1405779926&sr=1-5&keywords=sharon+galaxy+tab
They're made by Leicke, a German company.
