[Q] slow keyboard - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

Is anyone else having to wait when typing fast on the keyboard? Or perhaps using a faster than stock keyboard?
When I type it lags behind and has trouble keeping up.
That's the only problem I have with the phone.

I don't have any keyboard issues. Which keyboard are you using? Google Keyboard or the Huawei keyboard?

Changing the power settings to normal fixed it for me.

Google keyboard.... But the last one got it... Just set power settings to normal and all is well with the world again

And some cracked apps make your phone sluggish, make sure to get apps on trusted site or store, when I format to factory default and just get apps from amazon, opera, Google store, runs smooth at it should be

The Google keyboard doesn't ever give me problems, but I've had to stop using Swype. It lags so badly it becomes completely unusable. I'll try changing the settings you guys mentioned because I really miss Swype.

That seems to have fixed the problem. Now let's see how much impact it has on my battery life.
Thanks for the help

yes, change to normal battery settings, phone still lasts 2+ days, and keyboards are just as fast.

Note SMS/mms vibration trouble

I tried to search to see if anyone else had the issue, but all I could come up with was different problems. My phone, all original Samsung ics, has stopped vibrating upon SMS and MMS notifications when the phone is in the vibrate setting, the phone works fine. Audible notifications work fine, but I rely on vibrate/silent a lot, and this is agitating. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix it, or should I just take this opportunity to root it and hope it works out? Thanks in advance!

The AT&T version/LTE. Yes, the feedback, plus typing does work fine. Same with the phone ringer as well. Every once in a while the home key vibrates a bit long/harder than usual, but aside from that everything else is fine.

Okay, we are going to do a rest, go to Google play and download handcent its a SMS app, use it to text someone while set on vibrate. If that vibrates or not let me know. If is does, its a problem with your stock SMS if it doesn't still, make sure all vibrate settings are on (there is quite a few) if no again, you will have to hard reset it, everything will be erased, remember to remove memory card, and finally if that doesn't work, its the phone, either get it looked at or you may just have to deal. Rooting has perks, it also could fix this problem (not promising anything on that tho lol)

I'm sorry, I should have specified, I already did try handcent and gosms I think it was? Both work fine! I have been trying to avoid hard resets/erasing everything because I didn't want to lose some stuff I have setup, it is always so tedious! Haha. Anyhow, I think it is the native messaging app, I just figured maybe it had happened prior to someone else, and there was some possible fix without having to go through all that setup again! I guess I'm done being able to avoid it. Haha
Thanks for all the help, I do appreciate it!
Well, installing and removing those other SMS apps a few times seems to have "fixed" it, and all my vibration notifications are back again!

[Q] Advice, Tips, and Help Needed - Noobie

Hello, I have some questions, and need some advice and help - Thank You
Firstly, i am new to android, and recently got a new phone, running ICS. However im having some problems.
My Phone has 1gb RAM
I haven't installed much, and I have Disabled most of the pre installed rubbish.
Yet, it always says, 490MB USED RAM? Why is this? I even calculated the stuff i had running and it was around 290-310mb MAX, So why is so much RAM Being used? ( This is after I have installed and killed apps, i installed Advance Task Killer and Task Manager)
Secondly, Hard Drive space is no issue, i have 1.9gb free internet and USB sotre is i think around 8gb, when installing apps, Do You recommended to move them USB Storage or keep them in internal ( if i put them in USB Storage is there a chance of them being/working slower.
and Finally the biggest and main problem, How do i stop my phone from Sleeping? Its driving me crazy! After a while (when i am not using it) the phone goes into sleep mode, when i want to use it i cant, wake it up from my buttons, i have to use the power button right at the top, is there a way to alter this?
Thank You
try something like settings>display>screen timeout and/or settings>applications>development>stay awake. Also, it helps people help you if they know what phone you have and what carrier you're on.
Some of the apps do not support movement to ext storage.. Rest can be moved without problems..

for ram usage: check for cached processes in Ur task manager.. That would give u the complete picture..

Issues with lock screen

I'm not sure if this is a handcent specific issue, but I am on CM10.2 and since installing handcent the lock screen does not always function properly. It will at times not lock no matter how many times I hit the power button. The screen will turn off, but when the screen turns back on I am not prompted to enter a pin# before opening my phone.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue with handcent. I'm going to probably remove it just for the sake of litmus testing, but has anyone found a work around if this occurs for others?
Anytime a problem surfaces from an app install you should remove the offending app and see if the issue goes away. Likely the app is FUBAR but you won't know until you test.

As for handsent I have had issues with it before in the past such as it keeping my phone from sleeping and sending messages without me involved. I stopped using it back when ICS was first out.

LOL, You can change the font, change the wallpaper (Annoying Wallpaper), Messup with APN which will cause the internet to not work, Installing applications with lots of ad, Messup with developers setting which is dangerous, Change the ringtone to something scary (LMAO) and lots of other mishap.

Hit "Thanks Button" if this helped you!
How broken do you want it to appear I can certainly help you make it appear broken. My suggestion would be go into Developer options in the settings turn it on and select the check box for SHOW SURFACE UPDATES it will cause the screen to flicker at random in random colors during any sort of backg
