PLEASE HELP

"some kind of root app"
Step one to working towards a solution is to desceibe the issue in as much detail as possible. This would include the applications name that broke your tablet as well as the make and model of tablet you have. And whatever (if any) additional tweaks or mods it might have. Also, anything you have already tried to fix it.
This does not include screaming at it or asking it to "please fix itself"

App name: ROEHSOFT ram expander
Tablet: Nova Dream(not widely known so you might not know it)
No tweaks no mods
Problem: the entire line cannot be touched, making it hard for me to type the letter 'o', 'k' and other parallel letters on the keyboard.

BTW, the unresponsive part of my tablet is the entire lane between the two dots.

Is there a way you can help?

Did you uninstall the app? And just because it's in the app store doesn't mean it won't effect your device badly.

Is the widget on the right edge of the screenshot from the Reohsoft App? Is it selectable?
Also, what Android version is that tablet running and does the device have an SDCARD installeed? What size?
Does it fix if you uninstall the app and reboot the device?

Uninstalled the app already, rebooted three times already. My device has an external SD card, my android version is 4.2.1. My tablet size is 7 inch. No widget or anything, can't touch anything.

Try to enter engineering mode and re calibrate touch function ....
Also even if you have stock unmodified firmware you can flash it
This will definitely help you

My tablet doesn't have developer functions, that even includes recovery mode, or you can tell me how to enter touch calibration mode if it doesn't involve system recovery.

broken HW nav keys

my girlfriend just got this phone a month ago, and she dropped it yesterday. theres a little crack on the glass near the nav keys, and now they do not work. i saw a edit for the build.prop to enable on screen nav keys, so i edited the build.prop, and rebooted. now it shows the boot animation, then i get a black screen. i know nothing really about LG phones. im only familiar with motorola devices. i have the original build.prop file saved. i tried to abd push it to system but it says its only mounted as readable. the phone will charge while off, and i can get as far as the red triangle android. i only run ubuntu computers. i do not have a windows PC in my house. what are my options here?
Just a question .
Is your device rooted and has unlocked bootloader ??
What version are you using for the Android ? I guess it should be JB.
Onscreen overlay buttons can be used but It probably needs to be rooted in order to allow it.
And your device seems to have been lost in bootloop. ("Soft Brick")

All I did was root it so I could write system files. I enabled read/write with my file explorer before i changed anything. I did not unlock the boot loader. It is stock 4.1.2 I believe from the factory. I've been searching the net for 2 days now for a restore method on a Linux base with no good results. Like I said in the OP I'm only familiar with Motorola devices really, which have tons of Linux support. If I must I could borrow a windows laptop and go from there. I'm just hazy on which methods are best to use. I want a factory restored fresh out of the box install.
I have no idea about Linux based method , right now. But for a windows base machine you can use LGNPST method for restoring a device back to Box .

So I restored the phone with LGNPST on a friends windows machine. Was a little tricky to get it all installed right, but after 3 attempts it finally worked great.
So more or less what I'm looking for now is a good method for soft keys? I believe the one I tried that soft bricked the phone was for ICS, which obviously won't work. I'd really prefer a app over a mod so the screens resolutions don't get messed up. Anybody have any recommendations? Something that has a trigger sort of like pie I think would be best so its not in the way on the screen.

Sounds good. I'll check it out. Not worried about custom stuff really since my girls hard keys are broken. Just need something functional with home and a back button, so she doesn't have to reboot every time she opens anything.

That will work for you. I have my frequently used apps on it too... makes a nice quick app launcher that's hidden when you don't need it to clean up the home screen.

It works fine for me.
I can't solve your problem but every thing works fine on my end. Just install it. The last thing I would ever do is put malicious files on here. This has to be about the easiest app to install that requires root. Just check your app drawer after you install. I can't help you beyond this being that its easier to scan an object for a virus than it is to install this keyboard It's pretty clear in the instructions on how to install.
Thanks I did install it working fine thanks again for sharing.

I have the exact same problem. I can access the main xda site, but not the forum. Can't access the forum through the xda app or tapatalk either. If I put data saver mode on in chrome, then it works through chrome at least. If I make my phone into a hotspot, other devices that connect to it also can't access xda forums. Tried this with 2g, 3g and wifi, none work. Everything is normal on my laptop and tablet using the same wifi.
Only thing I can think of is that I flashed the modem of kitkat because I have thr d6502, which model is your phone?
Oh wow so you're encountering the problem too. I'm using D6633.
I thought it was fixed, but after reboot, same issue. It seems as if quickly at boot if I try to access the forum, it works. If I wait for a few minutes, it doesn't work. Very weird.

I have this issue too with my Z3 Compact / 5.02
Only solution is to insert the IP to /system/etc/hosts ("207.244.72.9 forum.xda-developers.com").
Because I tried several DNS Server without success. This is strange.
This problem also happened to me (Xperia Z3)!
I have fixed the problem only flashing .FTF again (full data wipe)
factory reset via recovery not solved!
Edit:
the problem appears after that I restore my DRM keys using this method [EXRxYKG]DRM FUNCTION RESTORATION FOR UB DEVICE
If you unlocked the bootloader there is an app that prevents you from posting screenshots or even installing benchmark applications. If you have functional root try to delete PrototypeProtection. The app has a list of apps and sites that are banned, for example this forum, GSM arena and Antutu

It seems the issue is also on the Z3, my device had this problem.
I uninstalled PrototypeProtection with titanium backup and all works!
Just asking what exactly does Prototype Protection do, does it just block access to the apps and websites, does it do anything else?
Also, is it an app installed by the DRM Restore zip? If so, why did they bundle it?

Judging by the name of the app and the comments in this thread, i'm guessing it's there to stop users going to a prototype / display phone for example, rooting it and upload stuff from the phone.
I would like a technical explanation too, maybe someone can decompile that apk and analyze what it does exactly?

UWP App Launcher - Available To Download Now!

I managed to make an app launcher which looks like the Android/iOS home screen. I'm releasing the source code for everyone to come and create their own app launchers. The possibilities are endless!
Download the latest release here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-App-Launcher/releases/tag/v1.2.0.0-beta
WARNING: You may need to increase the page file size in order to run this app on older devices. It's a good idea to keep the page file static too.
Also, if you want to help, please contribute by submitting/completing issues. Everyone will appreciate it. Even if it's just a feature request. You can contribute here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-App-Launcher/issues
NOTE: Many of the methods used with the PackageManager class require you to add the following restricted capabilites in your package.appxmanifest file:
packageManagement
packageQuery
I'll still be improving the code on GitHub so it's more optimised in the future but I'll let you guys do whatever you want with this. Can't wait to see what you will come up with. Enjoy!

Okay, the app seems to be a bit unstable on Mobile. If you are uninstalling an app, and you relaunch the app launcher, it will crash until the app is completely uninstalled. On desktop it will run anyway.
So try installing the app again with its ARM dependenices using the Windows Device Portal if you haven't already.
If you can't use the portal then you can install the dependencies manually on your phone but you will have no idea when they have finished installing.

There are so many ways of installing this. The easiest way would be to extract the .appxbundle file from the zip and selecting this on the file explorer of your device.
In case that doesn't work, you can try installing the app using the device portal by uploading the .appxbundle file and it's dependencies. More information about the device portal is here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/debug-test-perf/device-portal-mobile
UPDATE: You can now use my app "Package Installer" to this app instead. Thread Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...mes/appx-appxbundle-installer-phones-t3669665
Don't worry guys, I haven't forgot about his project lol

I have to admit that the app takes way too long to load (9 seconds on the 950XL!) There is actually a time limit for how long a UWP app should take to start up and I think I'm breaking that limit low end/mid-level devices. This what I think because it works fine on my computer and phone.

I don't know (I didn't write the apps). I could try to rewrite the way that I load all the apps so asynchronously but honestly, I don't have any motivation to even try right now. I'm working on a project that is going to be in the Windows Store.
If anyone here knows c#, the source code is here: https://github.com/colinkiama/UWP-App-Launcher. Feel free to try and fix it yourselves if you really want this to work on your device.

He wanted to install games like Angry Birds for kids. But thanks to 4gb rom, I think around 256mb ram it is a mess. Lags way too much. When we tried to install apks downloaded from Google, we got this error There is a problem parsing this package. USB Debugging is on, installation from unknown sources is on. Any way out of this? Can someone help with a working custom rom link? Micromax used to sell this tablet branded under their name. So, there were indeed roms back then.
Thanks

There are many reasons why this message appears on your screen when you try to download an application.
The file might have downloaded incompletely
The application may not be compatible with the hardware or your operating system
This is because of a security setting
The APK may be a corrupted file

Thanks for replying. The same apk is installing in other phones. I have tried many years old apps but same result. The rom is the culprit. Any help with the rom?

An APK gets installed by Android's PM ( read: Package Manager ) what is part of ROM. OK.
Personally don't think in actual case the ROM is the culprit: Try installing the APK in question by means of AURORA Store to see whether it's Google Play that works wrong or not.
Hint: Instead of shooting in the dark, get the reason ( for example INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES ) for the mentioned error by installing the APK in question via ADB.
Code:
adb install -r APK_FILE
Note this command utilizes internally PM.
Also a look inside Android's logcat may help. But this requires device is rooted.
You can try reflashing stock rom.. head over to XDA thread..

This is the problem. It is not letting us install any app. We have tried many apps made in 2012 itself. The tablet lags just way too much so it will be a mess to try to install via an ADB. Can't we just flash some other rom to make it atleast usable?

Editing apk is not possible as the device is just way too slow.
No live link for custom rom available.

That's sad, use different search engines and try to find rom links. Use other forums, file hosting sites etc
