S View cover - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

I believe Samsung forgot to add the option to enable the S View cover. Running build KTU84P.G850FXXU2ANI2. Did anyone find the option to switch it on? On the S5 and Note 3 the "switch" is under Accessories, no such option on the Alpha.

Solved
Solved, the backside of the S View cover wasn't flush against the two contacts. Mind you, there is no S view cover setting in any of the menus. The Alpha detects the cover (if properly clicked in place), gives home screen S view cover selection screen and thats it.

The setting are under:
Settings -> System -> Accessories
Or you can slide to the 3 dots from the S-View cover when the screen is lit.

Info application Triggered from keyboard...

The small info panel in home screen, triggered by the magnetic connection between keyboard and case could be useful. It shows some info's to read with creen closed. Could be opened without the magnetic connection to have it on without the keyboard and using case with a transparent hole?
Someone knows the name of the application (or the .exe file)?
I am still looking, I've found some other looking for solution here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322566
and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323545
I just post the links, there are some valuable informations about .DLL's name and registry settings; may be someone could find a solution to start it manually and /or use it for some other purposes.
I think is an interesting technology but the magnetic sensor isn't reliable enought
From DOPOD user manual...
1.5 The Subdisplay
The Subdisplay lets you view notifications, music info, weather, temperature
and time on a designated area on the LCD screen when the keyboard is
attached to the LCD screen of the main unit. The Subdisplay is automatically
activated when the keyboard is pressed against the LCD screen.
Note:
Weather, world time and temperature information are only available if the
WorldMate® software is installed

....but I found a first way to use the transparent windows.
Vjtoggletodayalpha (even in alpha stage) is a great application to remove from start menu the start applet and/or the buttons applet.
So I removed the bottom bar (button applet) and now I can use the space at the bottom of the today screen to put some info's. SPB weather fits exactly to be seen trought the transparent window.
Using wisbar advance should be possible to define, at the bottom of the screen, the winfo window to be used as personal subdisplay when the keyboard is closed.

HTC Dot View Revert?

Hi I finally bought my M8 and the dot view case. When I first used the dot view case without the app update, I noticed that every time you put the cover on after opening it, the clock and weather would show. But after the new AT&T update and the dot view no longer shows the clock automatically when putting the cover on. you have to double click to show the clock. Is there a way to revert back to the old style for dot view?

Can't pull down the Notification bar

Hi, I am absolutely new here and technically about android too.
Details about OS:
Sense 5.5 + 4.2.2 JB (Factory installed)
Things were good with my HTC One X+ for exactly 1 year.
Now it started giving problems...
First mobile got froze with notification window half dragged (when mobile was idle for nearly 2 Hrs), it won't respond to normal touch and keys. Power down didn't work too. Left it like that for 2 hours, then it allowed me to restart. After couple of restarts it became normal, almost. Now notification pull down won't work, with screen rotated - it works.
Tested with HTC tools and with ZTest, no touch sensitivity on the area where notification bar is.
Is it a HW issue or can be resolved by SW updates?
Please help me with this.
Digitzer problem, having the same.
Run HTC test app, it can only be opened by entering the dialer and typing hmm, *#*#HTCTEST#*#* I guess. Then there will be an option to draw lines where you touch. Swipe with your finger on your whole screen and probably a small area in shape of a rectangle at the top of your screen won't draw any lines.
Alternatively, you can go to settings > developer options and there is a similar option to draw lines.

Click to collapse
Ran the test. As you said, it won't draw lines in shape of a rectangle where notification bar is.
So it's HW issue. I will check for Digitizer replacement. Thank you.

[Q] Touch screen sensitivity question

I posted this on a different forum but should have checked over here first. Hopefully one of you guys with a Gear S can verify this for me.
When swiping down from the clock screen to get to the quick menu it seems I have to be in the top center when I swipe down. If I try to swipe down from the top near the edges it does not work. This also applies when swiping down from a widget to get back to the home screen. If I am in app or scrolling through the apps the top edges seem to work as normal.
Just trying to figure out if it is supposed to be this way or my Gear S is defective?
Thanks
Just tried the swipe down on my Gear S. Won't respond if I'm swiping near the corners. Only responds when I swipe near the middle.
On my Galaxy Note 4, I can swipe straight down from the middle to pull up the notification panel. I can also swipe diagonally down from the corners to activate multi-window pop-up mode.
So, maybe the Gear S will eventually incorporate some type of diagonal swipe down from the corners to activate or open an app or setting.
Thanks for the checking. I figured it was designed like that but I had nothing to compare it to.
Thanks again
