[q] we need an app that can control display color temperature - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i found that many devices have display color temperature usually not average , either warm or cold.
we need an effective app that can easily control color temperature of display and brings it to moderate to relieve eye straining from too warm or too cold displays.
also i saw this feature in some devices , can our developers use it to make an app or a mod for display color temperaure.
thanks.

Possible to make the screen even dimmer?

Running ViperRez. Is there a way to make the screen any dimmer than the current lowest setting? . I find it is still too bright at night.

I remember it getting quite dim but you should search for a mod or script.
This should be in the Q&A Section though, not development. Happy searching.
Sent from my HTC Rezound using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
get yourself an app like notification toggle or do it manually in brightness settings. automatic brightness isn't great cause it's always checking light levels every to confirm if brightness needs to be increased or decreased. notification toggle will allow any percentage and as many levels as you want. I use 10,15,20,25,40,50 and 100
youre gonna want to get this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor&feature=nav_result#? t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5oYXhvciJd. its free and it works perfectly and you can make it as dim as you want, even to the point where you cant see the screen on at all, i used to use it to text at night all the time. It also should save your battery, i could go two plus hours screen on time on wifi and be in the high 70s for battery on my inc 2
Quicker. It has screen dim in it. I use it every night.

This works perfectly! Thanks for the help.
I use screen filter too, but keep in mind that it only draws a dark overlay on your screen to let out less light. The LED back light is still at the same level, but less light escapes. So, it really doesn't help your battery since we don't have AMOLED screens.
Chainfire 3D has a "Night Mode" filter if you want to give that a try too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d
The free version currently has a red-, green-, or blue-only RGB channel filter, as well as Amber and Salmon colored filters. You can fully adjust the RGB values of the filter in the Pro version.
Oddly, there is no "balanced coloring" grayscale filter. Would need to use the previously mentioned app or buy the Pro version and adjust the RGB values equally.
Fun to try out at any rate.
I use Lux. It allows you to reduce screen brightness to completely black and unreadable. I don't know but I don't think it justs adds a transparent black overlay to make it look darker. It seems to actually adjust the brightness below the minimum allowed without the app. Here's a link to it in the market (there is a paid and free version) https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ps#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEwOSwiY29tLnZpdG8ubHV4Il0.

App for making only part of screen visible on display off?

I think this would be great hack/mod for my GNex for displaying notifications if one can make only part of the AMOLED screen visible when the display is off. Apps like battery monitor and resource monitor would look great then. This region can also be used for a RSS ticker display. Is there any such app/mod/hack aready?
Cheers.

[APP] Increasing viewing angles and better contrast

Do you feel annoyed with SP bad viewing angle?
I HAVE A SOLUTION FOR YOU!!
FEATURE:
- Improved viewing angles
- Yellowish screen colour vanish and changing into white (like IPS panel)
- Very good in low light usage
HOW TO:
- Download screen filter on Playstore (free)
- Open it and set to 48%-50%
- Tilt your phone and enjoy better viewing angles!
DISCLAIMER:
- May decrease maximum screen brightness. Solution: turn off screen filter or reduce value
- Eating light ram, about 3-10 mb only
- Don't use very low value or you will suffer very low brightness and cannot see anything!
CONS:
- Decreasing in screen contrast
- A few unnatural colours
Cheers
What an interesting app. It makes colors a little bit less natural, but it indeed impproves viewing angles and it's perfect for when I use the phone at nights. Certainly something I missed from stock roms.
Thanks for sharing.

Screen Color Temperature and Accuracy

Hello,
I'm just looking for some real user feedback on the display quality, specifically the color temperature / accuracy. Detailed reviews posted outline indicate that the "white point" performance of the G5 is relatively poor, resulting in noticeable blue tint for white backgrounds.
1) I understand that there is some amount of screen adjustment provided by through accessibility settings. Can anyone confirm if this helps to reduce any blue tintedness or if there are other mechanisms to do so?
2) Can anyone just provide feedback on the screen performance in this regard?
Thanks.
I have the unlocked RS988 model, and yes the display is a bit "cool" for my liking. I installed Bluelight Filter and was able to use one of the color filters (brown) set to 8% which has helped.

Ghosting issue ? ?

So is it pretty obvious , or does ghosting usually happens on low brightness on every AMOLED display or is this phone only suffering from this ?
(I saw ghosting while I was horizontally scrolling a black picture of a gray background).
Can anyone confirm this for me ? ( Not a huge issue though , it doesn't happen after the brightness is increased)
Try with this image in lowest brightness
Zoom in and move it left and right you will see a trail of weird color trailing the black circle.
its normal for amoled displays
almost all amoled screen leave purple trails when switching from pitch black to some other color pixels.. don't worry about it
Ya when scrolling in app drawer the icons looks like wobbling.
Yes this has been the case in my Realme XT as well. When you have black background in the app drawer and there is any app icon that is dark you see the icons changing their shape while we scroll.
Even in YouTube when you turn on the Dark Mode and there is any video that is pitch black you may see it leaving a trail when you scroll through the feed. This is more often when screen is in low brightness. Is this issue for all other phones with Amoled panel or only with Realme XT ?
Amoled panels basically has the lowest response time in any display technology format except "Ink Display". Every individual pixel lights up individually from switch off (black) to on (any color). Higher the brightness means higher the color spectrum shining into your eyes and thus it let you see no ghosting while at peak brightness. It's still happening but we dont usually see that clearly. Ghosting is very natural phenomenon of Amoled technology. Also these budget Amoled panel tends to big fan of burn out. So make sure you are using live wallpaper that changes or moves (stock one that comes with the ColorOS is good enough).
