To those who have their White GSII, how is the white over time?

To those who have their White GSII, how is the white over time? Is there any discoloration over time?
The white of the phone is mostly covered by a surface which is quickly wiped clean and the material used is showing no sign of fading or getting dirty

Have no issues with discoloration here
No discoloration (due overheating cpu) for me but i know someone got that problem (hot phone = white tend to turn yellow near cpu slot).
But i got some micro scratches on the back cover (spiderweb style) close to the lower right corner (nop, phone never dropped, always in the case) that i dont have on my black one.
The black backcover is a lot better, milled to avoid any chance to slip, while the white backcover is slick.

[Q] Screen brightnes/luminosity difference

Hello,
I recently purchased Xperia tablet Z, and I have been observing difference in brightness of screen as top of the screen(near SONY logo) is brighter than bottom portion which is a little bit hazy and dull as compared to top of screen.(I am still on 4.1.2, dont want to upgrade as placement of soft buttons has been shifted in middle than left corner)
Upon contacting Xperia care and they asked download Xperia™ Diagnostics and run Display test.
When the Screen is white for 10 seconds this difference becomes more visible and prominent.
Can anybody confirm is it observable in all units or its just my unit that is faulty :crying: .

I think I saw your question over on the Sony support forum -- here's my answer:
I may have a related issue; the "top" quarter-inch or so my screen is barely dimmer than the rest of the display. Like your device, this is only noticeable on white or evenly colored screens when holding the table in portrait orientation. My first Xperia Tablet Z had this issue, I exchanged it, and the second one had the same exact issue. I'm otherwise happy with the device and since this is only really noticable under specific conditions I've decided to accept it ...
Same on mine... I had it sent to service but they said that its not faulty...

No other that can see this issue?

White Z2 owners, color lose?

Anybody with a white Z2 noticed that the white plastic edges around the seems are no longer white or less white compared to the time it was brand new out of the box?
Personally the seems on my Z2 look a little grayish. :/
Is there any plastic?? I thought it is a painted aluminium...

The seems(edges) are colored plastic. :/ Those are losing color. Aluminium is in the middle.
Although I don't think it is plastic, in black version it is clearly painted aluminum...which will rub away in time I suppose. But - let the owners of white items speak.

It's an aluminium frame with plastic injection, so they have the metal surround and a metal chassis and then to hold it all together, they use an injection mould for the rest of it.
Anybody going to actually answer the OP question?
I'm using a white Z2 and totally notice a colour change. I suspect it's due to general use and the fact that I mostly wear denim jeans.
Such are the woes of a white coloured device.

Seems to be from the general use here, washed it twice too. I do not see any colors residue on it, although I wear denims too but it might be issue with only some brands of jeans?
P.S. You can see here, that's the color my Z2 has now. :/

Note that I'm not talking of the staining issue, I don't have that. I'm talking about the color of the plastic wearing off. You can see it in the above video that the white Z2 has grayish edges and it has been used a little.
These have pure white edges(as it comes out of the box) :

Are you going to replace a new one?
It is out of warranty.
My white Z2 doesn't lose colour. It is white like in the first day of use and I have it for 1 week. I first was scared about this, but no. It doesn't lose the colour. I also use blue jeans. Maybe after some longer time it will lose colour.

Mine doesnt lose color, but it began staining after few weeks in blue jeans, luckily a bath did the trick, good as new now.
It is too early to tell, I only had it for 5 days, I will report back if I see any thing weird.
All I ever see in the Z2 threads are complaints :S is this phone really that messed up?
Really wanted this phone but I may go for the S5 since there are SO many issues :/ ffs
Well, seems like it was just indoor issue. Went out, and it still shines white and bright!

I have a black one and have none or the issues that people complain about, overheating lag or defects. Out of the probably hundreds of thousands of people there's only a handful of complaints here so that's not something you should be scared of, if anything there's always warranty.

Yes after using it for few days I recognized that the plastic part actually picked up some colors from my jeans, etc.
So I washed it with soap and it looked new again until I dropped it hard in parking lot, trying to get out of my car without realizing I placed my z2 on my lap while I was driving.
It has some scratches and chips on the side but it still looks beautiful and I am not going to ruin it by using covers!

[Q] [HELP] I do not know if this tiny light on front screen is normal ?

I just purchased a new Xperia Z2 (D6503), everything worked fine.
But I noticed there is a tiny bright light/spot looks like this "-", about 1-2 mm long, located at the left corner of the bottom bezel (which is all black) on the front screen. It is most noticeable when the screen is on. When the screen is off, this tiny light is also off, just looks grey.
I wondered what this light is for , and found no results in the user manual. I searched Z2 phone pictures online and all the bottom bezel on those phone looked whole black without any light. So i'm worried if my screen is defective.
Please help me check if you have the same light on the bottom left corner of the bezel.
Thank you!

I'm new to this phone too, but I don't have anything like you describe. I think you may have a faulty device.
Maybe damaged pixel? Not sure, but I'm sure it is faulty hardware, take it to Sony for warranty repairs.

off the display , in the black bezel region at the bottom of the front of the phone.
It is most likely a manufacturing defect where the the bezel was scratched on the back side. This causes light from the backlight to bleed through the glass when the display is turned on. Sorry OP, maybe try to exchange it?

Yellow stain on screen

Hello, for a couple of days now i.ve noticed a yellow stain (seen on white background) on the top left corner on my screen. I.ve seen that their are common at z2 tablets. My phone was not exposed to water in the last weeks, so i have no explanation for this. I am out of warranty. I am not extremely bothered by this, but i want to know the reason why it appeared and if there is any possible fix for this.
Thank you
I dont think there will be a fix for the yellow stain as its a hardware issue. I think your screen will be replaced. this issue is also common on iphones its borders get all yellowish i got my screen replaced too when i had iphone 5s. I think u need to get your screen replaced
I see.now that my screenshot didn.t captured the problem. So i searched on google an example. But my stain it.s more pale compared tot that. Not so obvious
No warranty left here. And no.sony service close-by...

its a hardware issue you have to replace the screen
Thank you
Do you know if it is somehow because of water infiltration? Or it has no connection with that?
It's a common problem affecting many devices, it 's produced by heat on specific areas, on Z1 and Z2 it mostly appears next to the charging port because of the high temperatures produced by the hardware underneath the screen. They will replace the whole screen if it's still under warranty.
