White Screen after Locking - HTC Desire 610

Hi,
My son has an unrooted Desire 610. Yesterday it started behaving strangely.
Whenever he presses the power button to wake the phone up, only a white scree appears. The only way to get out of this is to reboot the phone, but the problem reappears on reboot. He has restored to factory and the problem still happens.
The phone seems fine on wake up - he can use it until the phone sleeps. The problem only appears if he puts the phone to sleep or it sleeps naturally and then when he presses the power button to wake it, the white screen appears.
All suggestions really welcome as this has me stumped.
Thanks

Unlock it, root it, and flash a rom? Seems software related to me.
Or, if completely stock and relatively new, see if you can exchange it for another.
Or htc support may be able to help as I'm sure it's under warranty.

[Q] touch screen not responding

get this problem since yesterday
the phone worked great but than the touch screen stop responding
all other "buttens" work great (such as send / end / volume etc.)
tried to soft reset and still not working
tried to hard rest still not working
any other suggestions?
happened to me. even after flashing/ reflashing roms.
found other threads and it is not an uncommon problem.
solution only seems to be - bring it back and hope you have a warranty.
Yep, same here, hardware problem, fixed by HTC with new screen module.
This recently happened to my GF's phone, She said she was just playing a game one day, it froze so she popped the battery out and rebooted. Now every time she uses the End/Power ( red ) hard button to shutoff or wake up the device, the screen stays locked and won't respond. The screen works when device first boots, but as soon as it goes out it won't respond anymore.
I have tried soft reset, hard reset, different lock screens and what not. The only solution I found, besides sending it in, is to let the screen shut off by itself, and then wake it up with the Call/Send ( green ) hard button.
You can also try using the End/Power hard button to lock it, but then as long as you wake it with the Call/Send hard button it should be fine.
It has worked every time now. Try it and see if it helps! It's a little annoying but it saves money and insurance!
Going to repost this in all those previous listed threads to see if it helps anyone else.
Good Luck!

AH, you sir saved me. I was freaking out, I have the EXACT same issue and using the call button does the trick. The power/end button locks the screen everytime to where the touch no longer works. Thank you

Bug while deactivating the phone

Hello,
in one of two cases the phone reactivates when I try to deactivate it. If you touch the display or one of the buttons while (or directly after) pressing the power-button the phone activates itself... that drives me crazy, because it is nearly impossible to deactivate it with one hand without touching the display at this moment.
Does anyone know hoe to get rid of that?
thanks for your help
I've experience that I think - I hit the power button to shut off the screen and lock it, and it immediately switches back on to the lock screen. It's not the end of the world as it is locked and will switch the screen back off in a few seconds, but it is strange.
Think I've figured out what's causing this - due to the size of the handset, when I go to switch it off with one hand, I find that my palm can just catch one of the soft buttons at the bottom of the handset such as the back button, so I think the back button is pressed immediately after the power button, causing the screen to come back to life.
So it's not a bug as such, maybe a design flaw.

[Q] Screen Presses Randomly

Hello,
At least once a day, while my phone is in it's locked screen state, I'd here the familiar ripple sound as if something was pressing on the screen. I tried to remove the phone case but I noticed that the screen pressing is still there. I'd do a reboot and the problem's gone. Sometimes, this happens while I'm using my Messaging app. The spacebar would just "press" and I'd have to do a reboot again.
Any ideas on what this problem is and how I could solve it?
Thanks in advance.

Solution for Random Reboots(MOTO E)

I have been playing with my MOTO E for quite a few days.
The ONE thing that kept bothering me for all these days were the Random Reboots.
After trying many thing finally I have come up with a practical solution to this problem.
I have been having random reboots with the Stock Rom as well as other Custom Roms. Usually while pressing the power button the power menu used to appear for few seconds and then without pressing anything the phone to restart, and this happened with the stock rom as well as other custom roms. I had contacted Motorola, they had asked me to boot into SAFE mode and see if the problem persisted , and it did. So I started using the trail and error method and what I found out that it's a hardware issue, or a issue with how our power button works.
SOLUTION :
So basically what I did is I replaced the power button with the Volume buttons for waking up the device, and for putting it to sleep i assigned the pull up gesture(which is usually for launching google now). I assigned the sleep function in CM11 for the pull up gesture(if you are using the stock rom you'll need to use screen lock apps which allows that function).
After applying this, I have been using my phone for about a month now, WITHOUT a single random reboot.
This is a simple yet effective solution.
Hopefully this'll help you and save you those annoying random reboots.
Can you please explain in detail ? I am using stock rom, and my phone reboots randomly few times a day.

Use "Pocket Lock" application to lock and unlock/wake your device instead of the power button and check if the problem persist...!!
Hello,
as I was going mad with the "Power Button random reboot", I discovered your helpful post. I didn't know it was possible to set the phone to wake up on volume buttons. On the other hand CM allows you to put your phone in sleep mode touching the notify bar twice.
Half a day with these settings, it seems good, Moto E has a real problem with power button, now I have to control myself not to touch it anymore !
Thanks.

LG V10 Screen dims completely & unusable After Booting

I picked up my v10 (LG H901 unlocked) and tried unlocking, the screen was completely dimmed out. I could hear notification sounds and had the haptic feedback when unlocking with fingerprint but nothing could be seen. I took out the battery restarted the phone and the screen booted up into the home screen but dimmed out completely again after barely 3 secs. It's continued till now, I hear notification sounds, the vibrations work but the screen is completely blacked out.
Taking out the battery and reinserting starts the phone normally but goes blacked out again after it loads.
I'm on Android 7.0. Help pls

Power off the phone...hold down the volume down and power buttons at the same time....when you see the lg screen appear briefly (1 second) release the power button while keeping the vol down pressed..then re-press the power button....all this in the end should boot you into recovery...it will ask you a couple of scary questions which you can say yes or no to....the bottom line is this...if you can see fine in recovery then you've set the brightness way to low and/or installed an app that's done that to you in your ROM. If recovery is to dark to read then it's a physical issue with your device. About the only thing that's gonna undo the rom issue if it's that is a factory reset (which you can do from recovery). If you were using auto brightness then make sure when you get back into your rom that you disable it until you can figure out what you did that caused it to get so dark you can't read it.
