I can personally confirm that Best Buy is accepting pre-orders for units they have locked up in the store.
I just made a $50 pre-order in Sacramento. Looked like they had 5-6 units on their locked shelf, one of which he scanned for my order.
Not aware of any other stores that will have them for pick-up tomorrow.
Feels like these will be hard to obtain for these early days.

What part of Northern California. I'm in Redding and our Best Buy will have them. I pre-ordered mine, but I called to make sure it would be there tomorrow and the guy told me they had 8 in stock in addition to the pre orders.
Suppose after getting my new Note from Best Buy I decide I don't like it (or that I like the one AT&T sent me more) and I return it. Do I have to return the free flip-cover too? After all, it was free...

Yeah! My question too, exactly, cause right now I have GNote ordered thru BB and ATT.
I ordered another case thru amazon as well in case I don't like the BB case.

I don't work for best buy but I can say YES you have to return the case as well. I've never seen a retail that lets you keep the free or rebate stuff if you return it.
Typically, if you keep the freebie, the retail price of the freebie is deducted from your refund amount
In some cases the item can not be returned without all packaging and freebies

Most of the time, if Best Buy give away free stuffs with purchase, it will show as package in the receipt. You will have to return all items in the package to get full refund.
I had the same question because i also preordered the device in store. I called best buys 1-800 but they could not help me out. So i called the store i preordered the At&t Galaxy Note at and they said that once they receive the phones an email will be sent to the email address provided to the sales associate and a phone call will be placed to make an appointment to pick up the phone on Sunday. I have not received an email or phone call so maybe my store has not gotten them in stock yet or maybe they just forgot to call me. I preordered the Note on the 5th and was the first one to preorder the phone at this specific location.

I know its not sunday its clearly thursday...the best buy associate stated they get them early and would give me a call once stock was received. So it means that they just have not received them early...you dont have to be a jerk about it just trying to help in this forum.

It's possible IMO. And the fact that the BB website says that preorders will ship "after 2/19" leads me to believe that as well.
The BB employee where I ordered my note said they will most likely arrive in stores at 10AM on Friday, with the latest being noon. He said to call Friday morning to check.
While I haven't been into my store in the past couple of days to see any updates, GENERALLY with pre-ordered phones..Any pre-order done in store will be available in that store on release day. No other options. Now, it's true that some stores will either miss the memo or ignore the memo and sell the phones before the release date. The company has been trying to crack down on this as far as I can tell, making sure there is more information out there about release dates on these phones.
*NOTE* I have no idea how the warehouse for Best Buy's website handles the shipping. If you did an online pre-order, there is an equal chance you will receive the phone before the 19th, on the 19th, or after the 19th.

I live 5 mins away from BB, I am going to try my luck tomorrow night. I received all the accessories needed, but no phone. Killer right there.
so i ordered two phones from best buy, took advantage of the free case and the $299 price (premier was was getting $399 at ATT site) and $50.00 Best buy card for two phones.
But i also took the free shipping? saw some comments where free shipping = 5 day shipping, not overnight shipping? is this true? may have to cancel and try my luck at store.

Yeah, my order thru BB is the same, free shipping, but equates to SLOW shipping, 5 days. And thats after BB gets the phones into them.
So if you go to BB website and look at GNote it says "ships after 2/19"
So After 2/19 equals Tuesday the 21st since 20th is a holiday, 5 days later you'll get it, so by the 27th is my guess.
I actually ordered thru BB and ATT. My ATT phone JUST shipped and will arrive tomorrow.
And now I can't cancel my BB order cause I'm within 7 days of the launch date.
So I'll have to return it as soon as I get it. Unless I return the ATT phone, but will stink if I have to set up the ATT just to turn around and wipe it and do it all over again with the BB phone.
That's my fault for being inpatient!
But seriously, even if I didn't order one thru ATT, I probably can walk into BB on Sunday and get it.
Anyine else concerned about this? Don't trust Verizon and wondering if I should have just go to the store and buy it on the 10th?

Just saw that Verizon changed the preorder day to the 10th when I verified my order online. Cool
When I looked at their website last week, it did say "Will ship by 10/10".
Yeah, I'm kinda confused too ... Before I preordered I was chatting with a Verizon rep online and I mentioned that I would just get mine in store. They told me "People who preorder will get their phone 2 weeks before it gets to stores". So, naturally I promptly placed my preorder ... I fell for their diabolical plan LOL
On a different note (no pun intended), there's a thread in the Note 3 section from a FedEx employee with a Verizon inside contact saying that the preorders will ship 9/29 .... I'm hoping this pans out!

I currently work at a verizon store, and I would definitely suggest buying from your local brick and mortar store.

I hate to start another waiting room thread, but I stumbled across a few articles wherein Samsung commits to every preorder being delivered by 9/14. Here's one:

Dud I also got the Oct 1 date for the unlocked version, I would call Samsung if you can't wait.

Just a recent news story to provoke thoughtful discussion on a somewhat hot forum topic.
I don't know, doesn't seem to be any logic or reason behind Samsung shipping phones. Some people ordered last Friday and got the phones yesterday or today. Some like myself ordered on the 24th and still have nothing. Would like to believe it, but I will be surprised at this point If I get my phone this week. Samsung already failed to live up to its promises made to me, so I don't have much faith in them.

The $150 is only for preorders. That goes away on the 15th. That's the only reason that I did it that way.

Just a bit jealous of all of the people who already have them. I know that this is how BB does things, though. Is what it is, I guess.
Looks like this was fud as well. 14th is here, and I doubt mine will show up. I now hopefully will get it before October. The 150 dollars in now going on week 3 of watching other people get thier phones. Doesn't help that Samsung customer lack of service has mislead me time and time again.

Yes I read announced 2/20 for pre-order and hits the market on 3/8. I signed up to reserve a pre-order spot for me and my husband cause of the $550 trade in. I hope they give away the new galaxy buds too. I called Best Buy to see if they knew what their deals were going to be yet and he said they won't know till the announcement date and when it's time to pre-order. I can't see Best Buy giving $550 trade in though.

I don't know what to do now lots of people over on slick deals are saying Samsung has screwed them over and tired to say their phone was messed up once they got it and not giving the full amount you think your getting. Now I see Best Buy is doing $550 too so I am not sure who to order from now. And yes I am so glad the buds are free with it. Now to pick a color.

I see where the phone will be available on March 8 at my Bestbuy while Samsung has given me a shipping date of March 15. I looked on Bestbuy's website to think about trading there instead but saw this, "Trade-in valid in store only. Minimum savings is $50. Savings excludes unlocked phones. Terms and conditions apply". Since BB is only accepting locked phones that leaves me out.

No my Best Buy and I asked them over and over in store and on the phone before I went in their is 2 deals a 650 and a 550. I am trading in my unlocked S9plus and buying an unlo9cked S10plus. When the phone comes in go to pick it up turn in my S9plus and get 550 off my S10plus. I was told this by 2 people in store and when I called I asked the guy 3 times and he said has to be done in store and I said well I am coming in let me repeat my self to make sure you understand what I want to do and I want to make sure your telling me correctly and I got his name. I have pre-order reserve date.
I preordered S10+ today will get it on March 1 with Buds.

I hope so on your part. I've already started the trade-in with Samsung but was out earlier and wanted to look at the phone at Best Buy. I asked the Samsung salesman in the store and he told me they were restricted to carrier locked phones only for the trade-in program. There was another sales person standing there and she didn't correct him. At least you got a name and if they then refuse you can just cancel the sale altogether.

I went to my local authorised Samsung shop and paid 20% deposit. Despite online preorders coming to customers only on March 6 shop personnel assured me that on March 1 I can visit shop and get my phone.
The shop already had display units so I guess they have some stock.
