[ROM] Pure Android 5.0 Lollipop - Built From Source [android-5.0.0_r2] - Nexus 5 Android Development

I built AOSP 5.0 Release 2 (a.k.a. Lollipop) for Nexus 5. This is PURE AOSP Lollipop. Enjoy. Also always remember I'm not responsible for anything. ROM is tested. Kernel is stock prebuilt AOSP kernel.
Download:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001606871
Installation:
1) Wipe all the partitions except Internal Storage.
2) Flash ROM.
3) Flash Gapps (You can find gapps packages for Lollipop/L-preview at XDA.)
4) Enjoy
Source:
ROM: https://android.googlesource.com
Vendor Tree: https://github.com/yashade2001/nexus-lollipop-preview-vendor.git
Kernel (Prebuilt): https://android.googlesource.com/device/lge/hammerhead-kernel/+/lollipop-release
Device Tree: https://android.googlesource.com/device/lge/hammerhead/+/lollipop-release
For manifest, I used "android-5.0.0_r2" branch.

Thanks! Been playing around with the first preview. I think it's time to move on to something more recent.

Since this is source build, do we need to flash Gapps separately? If yes, any link for material gapps?
EDIT: Sorry, some info in OP.

Thanks yashade

good work mate, downloading it now

i found this in a nather thread
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001606650

Are they still sticking with the 3.4 kernel for the Nexus 5, despite the Nexus 6 and 9 both having the much more recent 3.10 kernel?

@Rolle90, @neobuddy89, That gapps force closes on psychos build. He is redoing some stuff now. He got his from next door in illusion thread. Might want to look around first

Does tethering work in this latest build?

thanks, but this is not an original rom, and does not go into the n5 original development threads. it goes to the android development section, since you did not make up android 5.0.

Unfortunately, YES.
Old PM structure. Old mem structure. No CPU boost. No much cream layer of audio. Just imp fixes and minor features on top of kk 3.4 kernel.

Kind of, it's the base they're going to use for the release version. It doesn't have gapps and little things.

[ROM][5.1.1][Haxynox] AOSP for n7100

What is this?
This is clean AOSP, tailored to exynos4 chipsets. It is part of the Haxynox Project.
The whaaaa?
The Haxynox Project. A ROM agnostic effort to minimize the h4xx on the exynos4 support in all of Androidness. If you've ever glanced upon the sources, or worked with them, you know exactly what we mean.
Who's behind that?
Currently, the dev line up is Ivan_Meler, mcgi5sr2 and myself. Special thanks to Cocolopes for the graphics and general testing.
Why did you bother doing that? And why AOSP?
Well.. nowadays custom ROMs are packed with features. While those are good, they often introduce bugs, or drift off the scope of AOSP as a whole.
Given the state of exynos4 support in the community, we decided to take on the exynos4 platform in AOSP, thus taking away any custom ROM flaws.
That way we can focus fixing issues and updating the trees, ensuring maximum compatibility and stability.
Blah.. you're kangers
Quite the opposite. We do take pride in our work, and honor the original authors of any code we've used. While the commits speak for themselves, here's a small list
[Credits roll]
SlimRoms
CyanogenMod
OmniRom
Replicant
Insignal
Nameless
and the rest of the community
[/Credits roll]
Ok, enough with the fancy stuff. Where's the Bug list?
Everything appears to be working so far. However keep in mind that this is an experiment opting to experienced users. Bugs are expected, please log and report them.
note: SEAndroid currently disabled.
Got Root?
Nope. This is completely non-rooted. Feel free to flash the latest SuperSU if you want root access.

Few initial questions:
1) Correct me if I'm wrong - this is going to be kept as close to stock/vanilla AOSP as possible - no tweaks + no bugs?
2) Does AOSP ROM require us to flash gapps separately?
3) If the answer for 2) is 'yes' then what package do you suggest?

1. Its vanilla with no tweaks just the basic google stuff.
2. Use tk gapps. Works fine.
I found no bug in this build yet.
Its a good daily driver but cm12.1 is just better for me because of customization.

@Ivan_Meler Have you figured out why Trusted face is not working with newer gapps? It is working with https://basketbuild.com/gapps but it would be nice if someone could figure out why it is not working with newer like TK gapps.
Can the developers tell me if you will ever support exFAT format. I appreciate your first build doesn't (and I'm not complaining) but I have files on my SD card that are bigger than 4GB (exceeds FAT32 limit). If you can't/won't support exFAT then I don't need to waste time reading this forum.

Since the 6P is already on an AOSP rom, is there really any reason to flash a custom rom? I'm thinking of flashing a custom rom but I don't understand why it's advantageous when you already have an AOSP stock rom.

Stock Google is not at all stock AOSP, though it's the closest thing to AOSP out of the box...that stated, the similitudes are far more than their differences...but they are most definitely not the same.
AOSP is the open source repository to which Google and a number of other handset manufacturers contribute code, and from which all in turn avail.
But make no mistake, this device ships with proprietary software.

[ROM][N6][NRD90U] Useless Nougat

I just can't wait for Google to upload an official Nougat image for our beloved Shamu, so I compiled this from the source.

Working
As Shamu is a supported device, most things work well here:
Booting
Cellular (Calling, SMS and data)
Audio
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GApps (see below)
Easter egg
Not working (?)
Not working on Verizon, as reported here
There are probably more
GApps
This build has dm-verity enabled. With the stock kernel, GApps will not show up, or a warning is displayed when booting. To solve this, either use a custom kernel or use FED-Patcher.
After installing OpenGApps, you may encounter force closes during the Setup Wizard.

Afterwards, to get rid of the Play Services force closes, go to Settings > Apps > Three dot menu > Show system and find Google Play Services. Enter the Permissions menu and grant all the permission it needs.
If apps requiring WebView force close, try excluding "WebviewGoogle" using the gapps-config config file. Details are available here.

Just curious why you're calling it "useless"?
Have you tested it at all, and if so, what works and what doesn't work?
Iirc, at the very minimum, you need to symlink vendor to system to get cellular connectivity working.

Thank you. Cellular connectivity is working, and the vendor blobs are present in the build. The exclamation mark on the screenshots are due to Google servers being blocked in China (which you can fix by changing the captive_portal_server global setting, in case if you are in the affected regions).
The reason I call it "useless" is that Google will likely get the official images out very soon, and this build will quickly become obsolete.
I will update the original post to include the test results.
Noob Question:
Where can I get the GApps file for this build?
Thanks!

I think I will do the same. I have been following your posts and trust your opinion. It is weekend so I should be able to get it set up for the workweek ahead. Needs to be good as my daily driver. I am a perfectionist! Are you using the build in root and kernel?

Friend Ready to Get Nitrogen For Your Angler..
ROM and other Mods Links are in 1st page,
But before flashing you've to need Bootloader,Radio and Vendor images..
I suggest you please Flash all images with Fastboot commands...
Make a full Backup of your Whole Angler including Nandroid backup just in case...
And then start flashing. I highly suggest you Don't restore your EFS partition until you need them.
For Android N you've to need for TWRP 3.0.2.2 or Unofficial TWRP 3.0.2.3..
Here is link for Vendor, Bootloader and Radio images....

My two cents is to try the inbuilt root and kernel first, if you don't like it, then flash away.
But I believe you need he latest supersu ran as systemless mode for ad away to work, which you need the ad away system less zip. I can host the zip if you need it.

Thanks to join The thread..[emoji120]
Actually I love RR but I can't prevent myself to flash N ROMs,After trying a lot I stay with Nitrogen, Because I found Nitrogen has a lot of similarities with RR in terms of Customization, And yes I'll definitely Revert back to RR when @varund7726 announced official build that is coming soon, Because official CM 14 experimental build for OP3 has out and we'll get for Angler soon.
So I think Its good to wait for them who only want RR for Angler..[emoji4]

Take that profile you have (hawk tail) and rename it and delete the .txt part. Then drag that file into the elemental x file on your internal SD card (this is where all profiles go)
Open up elemental x manager, hit CPU, turn on the blue toggles for interactive on the first two options, then hit governor options (I believe its the third option down) once the page opens, hit load at the top right, then scroll down and select hawk tail, then hit apply at boot. Then make sure you find touch boost, it may say disabled or enabled already, you can touch the word touch boost and you'll see it change from enabled to disabled or vise versa, then hit the button power button to the right to activate the disabling.
That should do it. You'll see your CPU sitting lower way more often, saving battery.
If my instructions were unclear, I can upload a step by step with pics here if you need

Quick question... I know you made this thread to talk about Roms we are running. Are you OK with the off topic conversations? Such as governor profiles, battery life, and such?
I just want to keep this thread as it was intended to be. Lemme know if we should steer the conversation into a different direction.

[rom][aospa][7.2.3][bacon]

VV READ THIS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE VV
By using this ROM you agree to these conditions:
1. I am not responsible for anything that you do or that happens to you that is related to the ROM in anyway.
2. You have an advance knowledge of how this stuff works before trying it yourself.
3. You have backups and know how to recover your data if something was to happen.
I am not connected in any way, shape or form to AOSPA. I just respect them and like what they do.:good:
I did not make this ROM. All I've done is compiled it from the source on GitHub, anyone could do that. ----> https://github.com/AOSPA/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974
Okay I believe that covers me, so lets get down to the specifics.
It takes me approximately 35m to compile a new build, I'll do this either weekly or sub-weekly if there's a bad bug that's been fixed.
I have not had any problems thus far with it.
To flash this I strongly recommend you
1. Use the latest TWRP.
2. Have a backup in case you mess something up.
3. Wipe only these partitions: system, data and both caches. DO NOT EVER WIPE THE INTERNAL STORAGE OR THE OTG DRIVE
4. Flash the ROM.
5. Flash the most recent Open GApps [ARM] [7.1] the variant is up to you but I recommend [PICO]
6. Reboot and enjoy!:good:
Bugs:
I don't know, you tell me. I haven't had anything go wrong.
Here you go:

What do you mean? My internet is 100mbps (12MB/s). I have moderate specs for a PC, i5-6402p, 8GB RAM and SATA lll 3TB HDD 64MB cache, Kubuntu 17.10 with modifications and bleeding edge software updates (I'm moving to Gentoo soon).
What do you mean "unofficial as of now"? I don't see a need to add it if it's not a requirement.

Sooooo you're just compiling moments before the PA team does without any changes? This means I could just wait for the PA-team to compile their build and I'll get exactly the same, right? Or am I missing something here

I don't know what you mean by moments before they do. But yeah what I compile is exactly the same as if they were to release an update. But they haven't all they have on their website is AOSPA 7.2.1. That's the whole point of why I'm doing it, I liked the ROM but wanted updates, so when they make improvements on the master I pull the changes and compile a new build.
