Hey guys Ian really desperate here really need help
In downloaded the freedom app and root my phone with root master before it every thing was fine really then I got the play store connection error I didn't know it was freedom app so I made factory reset then still nothing found out the problem in hosts file I tried to add the # or delete it but can't it's only r/of can't mount it as r/w to edit it is can't do anything on my phone right now please help

You obviously don`t have root anymore. I suggest rooting your phone again and check if you get proper root. Then you can edit whatever you need in the host file.
You can also try to remove your google account , erase all data from PlayStore and then log in with your account, this works with most errors.

I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?

I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...

Please help! I am Android challenged and need help figuring out a download problem. I can't seem to download any apps from Google Playstore without a 498 error message. I installed a new 8G SD card and can't get any apps to download. The only info I can find is that it is a server error and should clear up. That was 4 days ago.
Phone is a Galaxy S Samsung model # SGH-I897.

I have the same problem. Before, I used Setxperia to swap in '/cache'. So,I go to '/cache/swap' by root explorer then delete swapfile.swp. This really fix my problem.

i have same problem with my motorola photon .......i do clear cache/data/force close, but still same problem.....finally factory reset, but still same problem.....i give up.....please help us.....

I am not rooted and cannot root as I have no pc :/. All the fixes i found requires editing the hosts file. I have tried deleting cache, logging in from youtube and factory reset.
I have a sgs3 gt19300 (unlocked).

Hello,
I think the best thing for you is to find a way to root. If you do, then you can use a file explorer app to solve your problem if by now you have not.
You may also look up several youtube videos to solve this problem. I'm sure one of them will help you.
What can I do 2 weeks ago I rooted my zoo 998 phone and installed freedom etc today suddenly. Play store stopped working can't login I tried factory resett. Date and time clear catch everything. I downloaded root explorer but when I went to delete the hosts or edit the hosts it says so topped working and can't edit nothing please what can I do I really apriciate if someone can help me
I have being using a galaxy s3 with root for the pass 3 months with out problem, today I decided to put service to it and as I did the service provided ask me to factory reset the phone in order to get it on their network.
Everything was fine until I wanted to run an app that I have being running moments before I reset the phone.
The app is Mac address ghost.
As soon as I open the app there is a log up front with that message.
Open failed: enoent ( no such it directory)
The app will not save any changes I make to it.
I have being thinking of re rooting the phone and even do a wipe and ROM reinstallation.
But I don't want to be to extreme.
Can some one halp me solve this.
I downloaded terminal but I am not too Linux savy I don't know where to start and how to processed please help. Thanks in advance

i don't mean to be rude but I am not that retarded, I have already clear the app 3 times un installed twice and contacted the developer whom hasn't contacted me back yet.
Can some one explain what is enoent in Unix.
What can I do to try to debug the app
It was running perfect before the reset and I think I will sell the phone and get another one.
I just can't live with out this app is one of the most awesome ones.
My other options is to spoof the Mac manually but I can't imagine my self doing that on a daily basis is just to tedious.
