Bluetooth audio delay (video sync)? - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones (Sony MDR-10RBT), and I was watching the west wing on VLC yesterday when I noticed that the sound coming from my headphones was out of sync with the video.
When I plugged in my wired headphones, this issue disappeared?
Is this an issue anyone else is seeing? Any ideas how I can fix it?
Cheers
Stewart

Doesn't happen when I watch it on my Mac?

I notice this delay as well. Just got my first BT4.1 headphones so I don't wear out the wired port like I did on my n7. Not sure if its normal or not but its VERY annoying. Disappointed

Bluetooth headphones with aptX codec are supposed to eliminate the audio delay.

Tried it, when I set my headphones to AptX, it selects the best codec, no way to force it to only use AptX - same result.

Then guess we just got to try and get use to the delay.

[Q] streaming music to bluetooth headset?

Hey, I've seen this question asked here and there but I can't get a straight answer, especially one that specifically applies to my 3VO.
SO--I've a bluetooth headset (Samsung HM1000) and a 3VO. Can I stream music, audio from movie tracks, etc. to my headset? I've heard a lot about A2DP, and since the headset packaging doesn't mention that I'm guessing that's not a feature. Am I SoL? Any apps or root tricks to fix this?
I would definitely have paid more for a legit headset if I'd even considered that this would be a problem (my fault for assuming!).
Thanks in advance!
I stream just fine to my Motorola S9 HD and Motorola S10 HD headsets.
Sent using XDA premium app.
...those are both A2DP so it's unclear to me whether your situation sheds light on mine, as my HM1000 is (I don't believe) A2DP.
no A2DP, no streamy to your headset..
yes, you are sol...
****. Kthanks.
Try an app called bt mono in the market. Might work for you.

Love the S9 HDs I will replace mine if they ever break with another set. I tried the new s10 series and they are not comfortable for me.

They didn't sound good when I had them on, but I chalked that up to the fact that they fit SO horribly and uncomfortably that they just werent sitting in my ears properly. never had that issue with the S9-HD's
Motorola really dropped the ball on those, here is hoping there next upgrade is worth it. as of right now if my s9's die I can still find them without too much trouble at a good price.
not sure how much longer that is going to be an option though.
is there a combo type BT headset that can stream music but also be used to talk when a call comes in???????
oops. I think I didnt research this first.....i guess this one does both....SORRY.

The plantronics backbeat 903 are great for music. The quality is awesome. The call quality is only good when you have a very quiet background because the mic stinks.

I have a rooted Viper 3D and I just bought the motorola S10-hd........how do i sync bluetooth. I press the BT button but nothing happens. Do I have to download anything else from the market????
Quick question about this rom or the 3D. I'm running MeanRom 2.7 and trying to stream pandora or slacker to this bluetooth headset while working around the house. Have full wifi and the bluetooth is studdering while streaming....
I can listen to anything I have on my 3d sd card and no studder but it studders while streaming pandora and slacker.
Anyone know why and if theres any fix?
I'm pretty sure it's not the rom, just something with bluetooth and streaming audio.
I disconnect my bluetooth lg and pandroa and slacker stream perfect. I then can turn bleutooth back on and listen to music and audio on my bluetooth without a problem. It's just when I stream....any clues?
I had the Blue Ant Q2 headset and I was able to able to stream music to it. It also read off my text messages to me.
Can someone please test for me? Get your Bluetooth headset and attempt to stream Pandora or slacker radio to your 3d? On 3g and WiFi please....
There are apps for that.. just search bluetooth in play store if you have a mono bluetooth it will make your music play through it. I've done it before.

[Q] Audio recording, line in, for guitar?

Hi, as the audio recording with the built in mic is very poor, i wonder if there is some kind of USB dock with audio "line-in" capability!?
I think i have seen that for the "bitten fruit" pad...
Does anyone know how to get a good audio recording quality?
My target is to record my guitar (electric and acoustic) while practising with great guitar apps on the tablet.
This would completely round off the guitar practising experience.

Thanks, do you plug it into the Headphone Jack of the prime?
That means that the jack has a line-in feature right?

Yes, The jack's 3.5 mm, so it has a line in aswell. I think.

Amp simulation is not really my thing so I don't have much experience there. The audio stuff I've done with my Prime has been straight recording and a little editing.
For multitrack recording check out Audio Evolution

For single track recording I like Tape Machine

Tascam works wonders if you use it with headphones directly connected to it and no modeling.
We, Android users, are screwed when using real time or low latency modeling/amp simulation cause Android audio drivers are quite bad right now.
The latency of what gets in the phone and what you hear is an abomination hehe, it makes impossible to use an app to simulate a pedal or add add an affect for example. The issue relies in the Audio driver used by Android.
As far as i know l, it has been in the Android bug tracker for like 3 years now and it hasn't been fixed. You can search for Android issue 3434.
That's why for example AmpliTube has not released any app for Android

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Mega and Netgear PTV3000 via Miracast issue

Has anyone tried this device with Miracast/Samsung Link (screen mirroring)? Using a Netgear PTV3000 Push2TV with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (AT&T) the audio quality is extremely poor without any definition, sounding like mono with no bass or treble extension. I used a Note3 (AT&T) with the same Netgear PTV3000 and it sounded great. Both devices had identical and mostly excellent video quality via the PTV3000 (as long as no other programs are running or you aren't multitasking on the device). The audio/video was tested on the Mega and the Note3 using MX player, Pandora and the Android stock music (MP3) players.
I read on this forum the Mega stock video player does not support AC3 or DTS encoding of which I didn't test but I don't know if that factors in or if something else is going on. The Mega is running Android 4.2.2 stock ROM and rooted. The Note3 is running Android 4.3 stock ROM and also rooted. The PTV3000 is now updated to the latest firmware 2.4.26 and I have manually reset the device using the reset button on the back as well. Also, using a genuine Samsung MHL 2.0 (white) HDMI adapter both devices play audio and video without any sound or video quality issues.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm sure I left out some important details.
Sorry to hear you have this trouble. First off please make sure that you turn off any audio effects on the Mega. Secondly I am sorry to say, the decoding chip on the Mega is maybe not powerful enough for what you're trying to do. Thirdly, Maybe you can try a different player. I have had good results with the Archos video player on the Mega. Good luck!

What audio effects that you mention could be enabled/disabled? Where would they be located to change? I have gone through the device and only found the option to change the HDMI audio between stereo and 5.1. The solution you mentioned could help with playing audio in videos but it persists in Pandora streaming radio along with the stock music player too. I was thinking the same thing regarding the device itself after researching and thinking about the embedded hardware, there may be a limitation to what the device can do though I would expect it to be in the video encoding performance over Miracast and not the audio quality. I will try it out though and see how it works. Thanks.
I was referring to the system setting. Go into settings then accessibility. Tab sound balance and make sure it's in the middle. Then also uncheck mono audio.

You might not believe this but after reading a suggestion on another message board plugging in headphones and then unplugging them triggers high quality audio over Miracast on the Mega. It leads me to believe this is a ROM issue. Any thoughts?

Shield TV remote

Does the shield TV remote work with the nexus player?
I was curious as well. Particularly if the 3.5mm jack will provide audio if paired to the Nexus Player.
Bump just in case. I've very curious if the headphone jack works with the Nexus Player and, if so, what version is everyone using (5.1.1 or 6 Preview)
No one has tried the Nvidia shield remote with the Nexus Player yet? If anyone has one please try it out! Dying to know if the 3.5mm jack works or not for audio.
I'm picking up the nexus player tomorrow for my bedroom and will try as soon as I get home. I already have the shield and remote. Hope it works as it is a lot better quality of remote.

Ah yea. That sucks. Because the shield TV has the ability to adjust volume. I am guessing that means that on the NP you are listening to audio at full volume when using headphones.

So, to confirm, audio works but you cannot adjust the volume through headphones??
I went ahead and purchased an Nvidia Shield Remote to test. Folks, don't bother. The device pairs fine and buttons work as normal. Issue is when headphones are plugged in the volume is at max. Volume buttons on the remote do nothing.
One more thing, Netflix behaves just like as if you're using bluetooth headphones. Which means, not working. Upon starting a title you'll either get the 25% or 99% hang.
I can't get voice search to work with the shield remote and the nexus player. Anyone else have this problem?
Correct me if i'm wrong but, doesn't he default OS for the NP not have volume control? I'm using an AOSP version of the NP and it has volume control that i can use with my media remote. Would it work in this case?

Bluetooth issue following upgrade to B131

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone is having any issue with the audio quality car stereo bluetooth connection after upgrading to ALP-L29C636 B131? It's currently unusable for me as the connection is very choppy when connected to my car stereo, but everything is fine when I'm using it Samsung Icon Bluetooth earphone. Any suggestion to fix this issue other than factory reset or wait for the new firmware update? By the way I upgraded from b129 to b131 using Funky Huawei method.
Cheers
