MoKo Holster Cover with Kickstand and Belt Clip Swivel [Heavy Duty] Rugged Protective - Nexus 6 Accessories

Just ordered one and I will try to keep everyone posted on how it works out. $5.95 hopefully this will work out for those of us that need a more rugged case! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E4RV8DS

Your URL doesn't work. I believe http://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-Case-Kickstand-Protective/dp/B00E4RV8DS is it?

There another OP for this case, it actually increased to 3x what it originally was. It was 1.99 a week ago.

I'm already using this case, it's amazing for $1.95

agreed i picked up this case on the 9th when it was for pennies. for the price it far exceeds in all areas. OP you will enjoy it for sure.

I bought this case when it was $1.95 on Amazon Prime, and I have to say, I actually feel more secure with the phone in a Spigen. The moko's "rubber" shell is too lose, and the plastic case is too thin and flimsy, much more thinner than a Seido Dilex or an Otterbox Commuter. I think I may just stick with a Neo Hybrid for now and just give away the Moko to someone on XDA.

Thanks for the info everyone

Totally agree with you. I got this case when it first became available. It has a really nice feel and looks great. However the tpu inner/outer shell is very flimsy, especially around the lip of the phone and has the look and feel as though debris could easily enter from the cutouts. The fitament on the phone in the case itself is just OK. The phone does not clip in, rather it slides in from the side making it awkward for some to quickly access. If your looking for something to put on your belt it works.

It isn't TPU, it is rubber...and the fit on my 32GB N6 is great...only complaint is that the holster doesn't have a locking clip. For a sub-$10USD rugged case you cannot do better. Heck Seidio and Platinum sell the same thing for $60USD for other phones.

The Seidio Dilex line of cases are more sturdy and rugged. And the Seido spring-loaded holsters make it quicker to release the phone off the belt. The Moko is a great sub-$10 case, but it cannot go up against a Seidio/Platinum case.

LOL....as an owner of a couple Seidio cases and a Platinum case...the Moko comes from exactly the same Chinese OEM and is made from exactly the same stuff (rubber/plastic). The only difference being Seidio has a metal kickstand.

The proof is in that Platinum, Seidio, and Moko have not sued one another for copyright or trademark infringement over the years. They're all that identical in design and quality.
We live in an age where people sue for using rounded corners.

Lol, you ain't lying about the lawsuits. I should be getting the i-blason case here in the next couple days, it was actually sub $10 when I scooped it up as well. Looks almost the same minus the holster and the design on the rubber, even the plastic outter clip looks identical. Don't get me wrong, the Moko isn't bad at all.. I'm just a bit ocd about the loose edges and small gaps near the cutouts. I feel like over a short period of time they'll get lose.

I may order one of the poetic revolution cases while they are still cheap. My moko should be her on 12/3

Ordered the orzly tempered glass screen protector a few minutes ago as well

OK the moko came in today and first impressions are really good! Not sure yet how it will hold up but the fit is great. All the buttons feel great! The case actually looks pretty good (granted looks are in the eye of the beholder as they say). The kickstand doesn't seem to bad. For a rugged case, its actually surprisingly slim which may make a lot of people happy.
Now for the bad as others have mentioned pulling the phone out of the holster causes the rubber part of the case to pull away from the phone. Not real bad but it does. The phone slides into the case but its a tight fit.
All in all I paid $5.95 + shipping on Amazon for this case and initial impression is for that price if you need a case it's a great buy. Just noticed the price is now $6.95 so if your looking for a decent cheap case I'd buy it before the price goes up. I'm going to use it until I find a satisfactory higher end case.

I did order a poetic revolution case as well and when it comes in I'll let you all know who it is.

Best case?

I just got a GS2 and trying to decide whether or not to get a case. Do you guys suggest getting one for added protection from drops?
EDIT: Ok, clearly a case is necessary, but which one? I have an Otterbox Commuter on my iPhone and dig the feel and durability. I see many complaints about SG2 cases not fitting or not having the right holes. Which is the best case in terms of fit, durability, and feel?
I definitely would. Protects from scratches, marks, and dust. I wouldnt count on it to protect from a normal drop though. I would suggest the Otterbox Commuter (make sure its the ATT i-777 version)
It's a $500+ phone you have. If you're ok with it breaking, then go without a case.
That's not saying it will break. There are plenty of stories about how well this phone does when dropped.
But it's the same reason people wear seat belts. 99% of the time they don't do much. But that 1% when you're in an accident, you're really happy you had it on.
It only takes one bad drop to ruin your phone. And screens for samsung devices are super expensive.

Are you sure that Otterbox makes a case for the AT&T version? I checked around and only found a Commuter for International version.
I have an Otterbox Commuter now for my iPhone and love it.
They just released an att version for the otterbox commuter. I have the international and its fits flawlessly. The top Mic cut out is off but the call quality is still the same. Paid 20 bucks on Amazon for it

This is going to depend a lot on how you use your phone. I am using the casemate barely there which provides a moderate level of drop protection while maintaining the slim profile and light feel that I really love about the Galaxy phones. But when I need to travel for work I put on the Ballistic case which has huge rubber corners and feels indestructible which is nice when you are moving around a lot and adding a much greater risk of dropping your phone. The otterbox commuter is a decent case, my wife has one on her iPhone 4. It seems to be a nice middle road between something like the "barely there" and the Ballistic.
Did you drop your old phone a lot?

There is a balance between protection and bulk in cases
I don't want a case that inhibits the phone from venting heat. And I don't want one that is too bulky. I've tried a lot of different cases, and this is the one that I like best:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320771114659
Just don't drop it from too high above a floor that's too hard, and it should protect the phone OK. And at this price you can get a couple of them as spares, since they will crack occasionally.
The other thing about this case is the matte rubberized finish. Helps the phone to stay put in your pocket. It also makes the phone feel much more secure when holding it in your hand.
Here's a list of many of the available i777 cases:
http://www.traemcneely.com/2011/10/...i777-samsung-galaxy-s2-sii-cases-covers-sgs2/
The SGS ballistic case is way too big and the bumpers snag in your pocket. The case mate pop is great as long as you don't mind the shiny back scratching all to hell in two weeks. Also the grey plastic around the edge flakes off really easily. The commuter is smaller than both and likes to draw dust... The thin cases will never completely protect your phone. Always had otterbox, always will keep using otterbox.

TPU cases have a tendency to stretch if you take them on and off too much. I had one for about 2 weeks and it was already feeling loose and I was only taking it on/off about once a day.
And they attract lint like mad. The reason I was taking it off daily was to rinse it off.

35 bucks! Damn. Not any cheaper on Amazon. That's a bit too much for me.
Thanks guys for the tips. I ordered a couple cheap hard TPU cases like some recommended here to see how they are. Perhaps I'll need more protection and look into something else.
I didn't drop my old phone a lot, but I did once in a while drop it from my desk. I don't have insurance on my GS2 so I would like some protection in case it drops since the phone feels fairly fragile.
Can anyone recommend a middle of the line case between thin TPU cases and the Ballistic? I know Otterbox is along those lines but $35 is too much!

oh, also, the otterbox should come down in price soon, like the intl. GS2 version has.

The Case-Mate Pop! is the best I've found. It is a hard plastic case that is lined on the inside with rubber for shock absorption. It also has rubber inserts on the outside along each edge. Has a very solid feel with good grip. There is also a fold out stand but I don't really use it that often. Nice feature to have though.
It does add a little to the bulk of the phone but not as much as the Otterbox or other heavy duty cases. I found it a good compromise between size and protection. I think it's well worth it for something that fits perfectly and feels really good in the hand.
All of the holes line up perfectly on this case even it's categorized under the International SII. The noise canceling mike on top is included in the microphone cutaway. No noticeable difference in signal quality or phone call quality.
Sorry, tried to post a link but I'm too new. You can go to Case-Mate's website and look under the Samsung Cases, Samsung Galaxy SII, International version.
I have the Casemate Barely There Aluminum, SGP Linear, and some mesh one I got for $3 on ebay. Out of all of these I prefer the SGP Linear. It completely protects the phone, leaving no edges exposed, feels like quality, and keeps the slim profile of the phone. I had to make a little hole for the noise cancelling mic but that was easy.

Thinnest Case That Protects Screen Edge?

I just upgraded from the Skyrocket to the Note yesterday. I had the Seidio Active combo on my Skyrocket. It's a great case, but it was a little bulky and the rubber was too grippy for jeans.
I'd like to find the thinnest case possible for the Note, but I want something that protects the screen edge with a slightly raised portion. The Gorilla Glass is harder to break than normal glass, but it can be broken and it scratches just as easily.
Some of the slim cases I have seen don't offer the screen edge protection, like the SPG and the Elago. Any ideas? Maybe I should just get a bumper case.

I use the Rearth Ringke slim and like it. The only raised part is on the corners, though, so you may not like it. The sides are largely uncovered.

Paying $25 for that case is just foolish.
I bought this one for $7:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-GLOSS...802561?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3371d03501
Its not that thick, its cheap and its secure.
The Boxwave Unicolor case is pretty thin. I also like that it combines TPU for the edge to protect the corners but uses hard plastic on the back to allow it to easily slide in and out of pockets. I always find TPU is just too sticky for the entire case. One added perk: The back plastic is see-thru so the phone still looks pretty stock if you like that look.
On Amazon for like $14. I think you can find other manufacturers of the same case on eBay for cheaper, but I jus tuse Amazon because it's easier. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
I got a clear TPU case, both form and function are just fine. It comes up and over the edge of the screen just enough to add some protection, and easily slides in and out of all my pockets, and my jeans don't hang off of me I got it from this guy for just $1.99 delivered.
I got this case:
http://www.amazon.com/elago-Slim-Ca..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1331234426&sr=1-1

As I said in my post, the Elago does not protect the screen edges.
I really don't think any of the ultra-thin cases have screen lip protection. I have the Elago, but rarely use it. Find a slightly bigger case that does and make the compromise. I love the Zenus Air Capsule. It has a screen lip, has a kickstand, hard plastic so it slides in and out of pocket easily and is less bulky than the Speck, Casemate and most of the other "mid" protection range cases. Just my 2c!

I have never used the Barely There case or Elago but in the screenshots on amazon of that elago case, it looks like the bottom is unprotected. Is that how the Barely There case is as well? I currently use the RearthUSA Slim case which I like but it seems a little too think. I would like to get something thinner!

So what's the most lightweight case with decent protecton out there?

As the tile asks.
Was going for the Neo Hybrid, but saw on YouTube videos that it adds a significant amount of bulk to the phone, also in dimensions, and it's not that sturdy anyway!
So I need a lightweight case, which will protect the phone, should have a decent amount of lip at front to protect the screen, and the case itself should not be fragile. I find it meaningless when a case requires not to be dropped. I am scared about dropping the phone, that's why I need a case at first place
I personally love UAG cases, but I don't like the hardcore industrialist look on them any more, I need something very simple yet elegant looking, like the Neo Hybrid.
Thanks.
Look at the UAG. Its pretty lightweight but may be more bulky than what you are looking for

Which one? Commuter or Defender?
They are the ultimate cases for protection, but then again they look very tough and rugged, which I won't like for the Note 3.
Right now the only option for me is to get a bumper, and in bumpers I can only have two, that Bear Motion one as suggested on previous page or some Amzer one, called Border Case or something, but I have no idea if that case has that cutout for the temperature sensor! Has anyone ever heard of this brand Amzer before? I certainly haven't! This is the case I am taking about,
http://www.amzer.co.in/Amzer-Border-Case-Black-P97313.htm
If that case doesn't have the cutout then my only option is to go for the Bear Motion one, but I don't think paying 2X price than what it's worth is reasonable by any means.
Lets see.

I've got the Commuter. It's a lot more elegant in reality than it looks in the pictures. (At least the black one is). But yes, it's a but bulky. It doubles the thickness if you count the rim on the front as well.
But if you want protection, something slim and sleek will not do much good. I've looked for those options, but they're all more for show than actual protection.
The diztronic tpu might be what you're looking for. Uag, spigen or especially otterbox are far from lightweight. I own the uag and I can drop the phone on any kind of surface without blinking, that case has serious protection. Otterbox is a tank, for construction people.
Yeah thanks guys.
@ShadowLea: Yeah I know that a bumper will not protect the device like an Otterbox would do or a UAG, but I am not looking for that much protection, just protecting the corners will do fine in my case, I think.
@lvnatic: Thanks. I know about UAG and Otterbox. I have used the Maverick on my S4 for a good four/five months, and it can protect the device in a lot of situations, but then I got tired of its look, too rugged, and that too when S4's backside was all glossy cheap type of plastic. For Note 3 and its backside material I can't think slapping a case on it, I just love touching that fake plastic It feels too good. If it were Note 2 or S4, I would not think a second before putting a case on it, because they felt that gross, to me.
Anyway, thanks all for the suggestions. For the time being I am going with a bumper, if I change my mind and consider a more protective case later then I will surely consider the suggested cases in this topic.
Does anybody know of a case that'll work with Samsung's wireless charging battery panel?

Funny you posted this at the same time I added one to my cart on amazon lol. How slippery is it realistically? That's my only concern.

Otterbox-like case?

I have a Note 3 with an Otterbox Defender case. Love it. My previous phone had a Ballistic case. I really liked it, but I like the all rubber back of the Otterbox Defenders, gives much better grip and better protection in my opinion.
Is there anything similar for the Nexus 6 right now? I ordered a Foscom Rugged one off Amazon, the outside is a hard plastic and the inner softer shell feels really rigid.
Might want to look at the seidio dilex if otter box doesn't have one yet. I can't think of any other otter box type cases really as I prefer slimmer gear.
I ordered this case from Amazon and really like it.

The best case for nexus 6 is the ballistic tough max. It's more like an otter box then any case available. Also my otter box that I had for my droid maxx before switching to nexus 6 wasn't rubber on the back? The plastic part clips over the rubber just like ballistic. So I'm confused. But anyways ballistic is way to go on nexus 6.

Otterbox has several series. Commuter is rubber touching the phone, then a hard plastic shell on the back. The Defender series has the hard plastic touching the phone, then encased in a rubbery shell.
Depends on which kind of Otterbox you mean, really.
I overviewed some two-piece cases (i.e., inner sleeve + outer frame) which have similar characteristics to the bigger Otterbox styles, for example.
The Supcase and Ballistic Max cases mentioned above are also within the same ballpark.

The Trident Aegis and Seidio Dilex resemble the Commuter. I have the Dilex. It does add some thickness and weight but its solid.

I have this one too. Really nice. Supcase makes great cases. I also have their regular Unicorn Beetle case with the clear plastic back, and that one is even better than the Pro series cases.
I just ordered this one
http://www.amazon.com/Protection-i-Blason-Full-body-Protective-Protector/dp/B00OGYP52Y
From what I understand its slightly less bulky than the supcase plus IMO it looks much better than the supcase or the ballistic

I have this case and it works pretty great. Protected from a few drops already, but I did remove the built in screen protector as I can never stand those. Still a great case without the screen protector as it maintains its integrity.

I always gauge the thickness by the cutout around the camera. Holy cow that thing's a vault!
Ive purchased a few of the Supcases off of Amazon and have been blown away with how Nice they are. I wont buy Otterbox anymore because of it.

I really don't like the smooth plastic backs of those types of cases. I do have a Supcase for my IPad. I agree it offers the same or better protection as an otterbox at a fraction of the price. I got the Foscom and it's pretty nice. I also ordered a Ballistic Tough Maxx. I know it's also smooth on the back, but I had one for a different phone and the dimples in it help give it some grip.

I have this case too. I like it for the most part, but I'm thinking of getting either the Supcase or Ballistic. The recesses in the back add some grip, but i feel the TPU material is harder than it needs to be and will transfer more energy from an impact, and the N6 is a heavy phone...
I think the trident aegis is as close to otterbox as you can get, it's a good case. An unseen benefit of the aegis is it sits flat so if you use the phone while its on a table it won't rock like a curved back does.
Otterbox
Has anyone else tried contacting Otterbox to see if they plan to develop a case for the Nexus 6? They seem to develop cases based on interest, or at least that's what I was told when I called them to ask. So I would advise anyone else interested in an Otterbox to contact them and ask when they plan to release one.
Got a Ballistic Tough Maxx today. Realy like the feel. I think it's the best case. Just wish it had a kickstand.

Don't think they 're going to start making a case because a few people from XDA want it. I'm sure they're looking at sales figures from Google and Motorola to see how many people own one.

They would never make a case for a phone this late in the device's life cycle.
You never owned a note 3 then, cases didn't start flowing until months later.

Experience with Seidio Surface or other case/holster combos?

I'm looking for suggestions for a thin case for my Pixel that will fit in a belt holster. I'm currently using this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG4BBX1/
but the case is pretty thick, around 3.5mm. All of the ones in that style have a kickstand on the back, which adds to the thickness.
I see Seidio makes a Surface which they say is 2mm thick, quite a bit thinner. I've never had one, and am not sure about the TPU inner part covering the buttons, wondering if it messes up the feel.
https://www.seidioonline.com/product/google-pixel-surface-case/
Any comments on the Surface for this (or other) phones, or suggestions for a thin case/belt holster set?
I use a Google Live Case with a vertical leather belt pouch like this one. Works well for me.
I thought about the Seidio Surface, but don't like kickstands.
I can recommend the Supcase that comes with a belt clip but it's not the thinnest thing in the world - definitely a thicker heavy duty case. No kickstand though.
On that note, I'd be happy to mail you the belt clip if you wanted it if you paid for shipping, as well as test my various cases first to see if any are compatible with it. Just let me know. (My wife uses the case but not the belt clip.)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I had bad luck with phones sliding out of that type of case (running with the dog or working under a car).

Thanks, but I have a belt clip for it without a case (think it's encased brand, ironically).
I decided to order a Surface and give it a try. Showed up today. The TPU part is a lot thinner than I was expecting. I'll post some thoughts on it after I've had it a few days.
I have the Surface case with holster and I like it. It's not too think, but still protective. I've dropped my phone a couple times and it didn't break

What's the verdict?
I had one like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDYKP7) on my Galaxy S6 and Moto Z, but would like a little protection on the Pixel.

That's the holster I was using when I didn't have it in a case. I liked it, but decided to stick with a case. Phone was a little too slippery for me without one.
I ended up returning the Seidio case/holster. For one thing, it was more difficult to get in and out of the holster, although it probably would have loosened up over time. Some of the headphones I have didn't fit the jack with it on, and the lip around the front made it more awkward to use. A lot of it came down to I just didn't think it was anywhere near being worth the price. For me anyhow. I see Amazon has a like new one right now for $21 though.
I'm still using the case/holster combo I linked to in the first post, and it's protected the phone from a few fumbles drops just fine.
