[Q] SIM unlock - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!!
I've bought my sony xperia z2 from France and its locked to Orange network in france, now I've moved to UK/London, my phone is 4.4.4, I've flashed unbranded UK 4.4.2 firmware in order to unlock the sim, but it still asking for the SIM network unlock PIN, I've tried two firmwares (17.1.A.2.55 UK unbranded) and (17.1.2.A.0.314 UK generic/unbranded).. they've flashed successfully but the phone still asking for that unlock PIN.
How to solve this problem and unlock to mobile network so I can use an UK SIM?? My UK SIM is (LYCAMOBILE).
Thanks for reading and special thanks for helping!

[Q] Rom flashing & Sim unlock code

Hi,
I have an X10i branded Bouygues Telecom (France) fw 2.1.A.0.435, baseband 2.1.54. My phone is Simlocked in Bouygues network but the operator will provide me the free sim unlock code in 6 months (not now).
So I want to know if I flash my phone with another firmware (generic or custom), and another baseband, I will still unlock my phone with the same code ?
or I have to flash back to original branded Bouygues Rom to enter de sim unlock code ?
Thank you for your answers.
Please answer my question !
You don't have to flash the original firmware just to unlock SIM.

Once unlocked the phone will remain unlocked, it will not revert back to the locked status after flashing the rom.
I presume that you have unlocked it using the code from the provider or a third party?
I think that what he's really asking is that, if flashing the device would make any difference when the time of unlocking the device come... Actually, no matter what you do to the device the IMEI is going to remain the same, IMEI is a unique combination of number that each phone has, which is the information they use to generate the unlock code. So, feel free to play with new roms on your device... It won't make any difference.
I hope this helps you...

[Q] Can't sim unlock my phone (is legal in my country)

Hi everyone,
I have a X10a BL unlocked right now using MIUI Oddie v10 default kernel (FXP).
And about 4 day ago in my country every company is offering free sim unlock for all cell-phone. (we got a new law ).
We can achieve the sim unlocking introducing the IMEI of our cellphone and our cell-number in the carrier web page, but the PIN they send me is not working only in this phone.
Do i need to downgrade my firmware bts?
Thank you.

You could try the Flash tool given to us by Bin4ry and flash generic then follow the standard rom guide, thats how i did mine unlocked from Vodafone to originally get 2.3 standard, but lead to more xD
Xperia X10i
DonutHD 2.3.4
SE Kernel
Relock ur bootloader then try pal. If it works, don't unlock again (unless u used s1tool u may lose radio).

No, it does not mean you can use any sim card.
my phone is network unlock, i cant upgrade my firmware via seus or se pc companion. but you can use flashtool to flash roms
thanks you both, after searching ive finally gathered it has to be sim unlocked by
factory, network provider.
using sites like http://simlock.com/ and da vinci team does this affect the bootloader unlock? i.e. flashing different kernals? im sure i read in the bootloader post that using 3rd party unlock your bootloader is locked again?
so for instance if i sim unlock from the sites mentioned, is my boot loader relocked or will i have to unlock it again after sim unlock?
at the moment my x10i is network locked to orange but 2.3.3 root/unlocked bootloader via flashtool.
I went whit cellunlocker.net
the best, used it on 3 phone.
takes about an hour to receive a code
and it do NOT interfere whit unlocking the boot loader
free unlock code from [email protected]
I called att today and to my suprise they gave me free unlock code for my sony x10 I bought it from a buddy of mine that got two phones lasy year and didnt pay the first bill
ps: can i simunlock with this code on my bootloader unlock phone

Bootloader unlock still not allowed?

Hi Guys,
I purchased the tablet yesterday from the o2 store, o2 have provided me with the unlatching code and now the tablet is sim free
When i enter the service menu though it still says bootloader unlock allowed no.. I was under the impression that the sim unlock would also remove bootloader restrictions?
No, simlock is totally unrelated to bootloader unlocking.

Hello,
Sadly, there isnt a free way of doing sim unlocks for this certain phone (again, sadly), the only thing you could do is wait for a 2-year contract to expire to get it unlocked by them OR buy an unlock code from a popular simunlock site (be aware - there are many sites that scam) :/
Best regards,
James
