[Q] In Coming Calls and Screen - Verizon LG G3

I have had my G3 for over a week now and there is one issue I can not seem to solve. Anytime I receive an in coming call the phone rings but the screen does not turn on and show me who is calling. I have to fiddle around on a blank screen to have it activate. Every and I mean every phone I have ever had over the years, the screen would always turn on during an in coming call to show who is calling. Am I missing a simple settings somewhere to activate this feature, any advise on this is welcome. Thank you.
Edit: Just to verify, Yes I have the option under Calls activated to have a Pop up on incoming calls, the issues is the screen is not turning on during the in coming call and I can not figure out why.

OK, 37 looks and no one has nothing, that scares me.

Problems receiveing calls

Several times when I have received a phone call, I try to answer it, and the ringing stops, and the caller is sent to voicemail.
I don't think I'm doing it wrong, slide down bar to answer call etc. A friend said it was ringing at his end for about 40 seconds, but i only heard it for about 5?! There have been times where I see my phone light up as a call is coming in, but it doesn't ring, and I can't answer the call. I'm expecting some important calls, and don't want to not answer them.
Could it be that the processor is being overwhelmed, and not allowing me to answer/phone not ring. Or is it a fault with the phone, or me?!
1) I have had similar problems.
2) If you do hear or see it ringing, swiping down on the lower 1/4 of the screen seems to work for me. That is, if I swipe down like I normally do to unlock the screen, it won't answer the call. If I swipe down only on the bottom portion of the screen it works ok.
similar problem here. I wonder if you swipe too big, does it pull the lock screen down, and bump the ignore/send to vmail button somehow. not sure why, but its happening to me and it sucks! missed the last 3 calls today bc of it. makes it hard to run a business thats for sure!
I use a phone service that diverts calls simultaneously to my landline and mobile and my landline often gets 2 or 3 rings in before the Hero's trackball starts to flash (although once yesterday they did both manage to ring at nearly the same time). Some of the delay is the mobile network finding the phone, but the phone does seem to take a long time to respond to the incoming call.
One option is to extend the length of time before calls are diverted to voicemail. At http://www.cellular.co.za/gsm_hash_code.htm is a list of GSM Network Codes, which includes, towards the bottom, one for extending the period before calls go to voicemail. It looks like the maximum is 30 seconds. I don't know if there is an equivalent for non-GSM networks.

[Q] No incoming calls

I've had the Galaxy S2 for about 2 months now without any problems.
As of last Friday, I can't receive incoming calls. People who try to call me hear one beep and then they get my voicemail.
Outgoing calls work just fine, as does SMS (incoming and outgoing).
I've put my T-Mobile SIM in another phone and then it is able to receive a call. Another SIM in my phone -> same problem: no incoming calls.
So I figured it must be the phone.
Customer support has started an investigation but that can take up to 1 week, so I thought let's ask XDA.
Can it be a simple setting that I've accidentally changed? Pretty often when I take my phone from my pocket, the screen is unlocked so that could be a cause.
If anyone has a clue or an identical situation, please let me know.

Does your phone ring when a call comes in and also does it go straight through to your voicemail?

Straight to voicemail. But I've figured it out after 3 days
There's an option to automatically block all incoming calls in the settings. Must have accidentally been activated when the phone was in my pocket.

Hello my girlfriends SGS 2 has almost the same problem it cannot receive calls sometimes even though she can call everyone. The problem seems to fix by itself sometimes and it appears random.
I read that there was a problem with the samsung galaxy s when using 2G/EDGE connection with data activated and the problem was that the user could not receive calls randomly.
Can you confirm that you are using 2G/EDGE connection and Data activated? I am also trying to find the cause of this problem...
Hope my research helps good luck and waiting for your reply. (http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...eive-incoming-calls-and-sms-while-using-edge/)
Later EDIT ---
She also has a vodafone provider but i have the same provider and never had this issue. Also no call filtering is done.
Make sure Call Forwarding is Disabled under Settings- Call- Call forwarding. And also try to delete the Voicemail number if you had set any.
Regards.
it's nothing Call Forwarding is Disabled related it is because of EDGE connection you can't have a sync or internet connection and while "dialing" data receive calls if you want to call anyone the network prioritizes and let's you dial whoever you want but it is not the same thing for incoming calls
^ Went over my head !
had the same problem in a bad 3g/data coverage area. solution was simply to turn data off and the calls started to come through.
turned data back on and now working ok.

Not getting missed calls?

Hey guys,
I'm with Vodafone (Australia) and lately I've been working in my garage a fair bit where I don't have reception. During this time numerous people have called me, however I don't receive any notifications of missed calls at all. And when I go into phone log it doesn't show any call logs.
Is this a setting on the phone or should I contact Vodafone to get this sorted?
Cheers
Good question Jonno. I'm also with Voda & honestly couldn't remember if this feature was working properly or not as I haven't missed a call for ages (people know not to call me at unsociable hours when I have the phone switched off ).
Soooo...I plonked my mobile broadband sim into my Nokia backup phone, turned my SGS2 to flight mode (to mimic not having coverage), called it from the Nokia & let it ring half a doz times then hung up.
Switched the SGS2's radio back on & haven't received a missed call notification (it's been almost 5 minutes). I've searched high & low thru my call settings & can't find anything that would turn such a feature on/off so I'm betting it's a network related thing. I'll update this post if the missed call notification comes thru at any stage tonight.
Yeah I've never got any missed call notifications with the phone. I have people trying to get on to me regarding some recent job applications so it's not very useful if I miss their calls and don't know who to call back!
Might try calling Voda tomorrow to see if they know anything about it...
Jonno...The thick plottens
I was ferreting around in the dialer/call settings & had a look at the call forwarding settings. Basically, forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable is set to that Voda number people who try to call you get when you don't answer & it asks whether you want Voda's "call catcher" to txt the person you're try to call to let them know they missed your call (with the number to call back on).
When I try to disable this feature on any of busy/unanswered/unreachable it tells me the network doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. So it seems Voda thinks their way of people being able to notify you by txt when you miss their call is the best way (only way by the looks of it) for this situation to be handled.
So I'd say people obviously haven't been choosing the option to send you a notification txt (via Voda's call catcher) and have simply been hanging up when they've been unable to reach you.
I guess the only way to get around this is to tell people to use the send notification txt option or to simply send you a txt themselves to say they tried to call & couldn't get you.
Unless you want to have fun calling Voda's uber helpful support ?

Continuous beeping in calls Ace 4 Lite G313ML

Hi,
My wife and mom both have new Galaxy Ace 4 Lite G313ML's; they're both new and unlocked. Most of the time when they make calls, the recipient hears repetitive beeping continuously when they're not talking. Sometimes after about a minute of being in the call, it stops. I think that after it stops, if they make a call again soon after, it is still gone. Both of them are on Straight Talk (on AT&T's network).
The beeping is not every few seconds or every minute; it occurs continuously while they're not talking (but it's still individual beeps, not a continuous tone).
I tried disabling various things that could be related to notifications or anything network-related, but I wasn't able to get rid of it. I thought that turning off Wi-Fi made a difference at first, but since then it has continued to happen with Wi-Fi off.
Has anyone experienced this problem before, or does anyone have any suggestions for was to fix or work around it?
Thanks!

Asus Zenfone 2. Calling Problems

Can anyone help?
Got an Asus Zenfone 2 recently. When calling the screen goes black. Also when I answer incoming calls the same.
I've checked the settings and there is an option for no background on calls, though this has not been selected. I have tried it with it selected as well and it's still the same.
Problem is that I have no easy way of ending a call. If I press the power button during a call the screen flashes on for a fraction of a second. But I cannot hang up a call. I rely on the other person on the call hanging up properly. If they don't hang up or the call goes to voicemail my only option is to reboot the phone.
Very inconvenient. Help!
Thanks
