Finally! A case! Protection... Possibly. - LG G Watch

So upon searching and searching I found a few bumpers made for the moto 360. This company is a 3d printing service that creates sells and ships based on customer code.
They have 2 different style cases for the g watch. One with a cover and one without. I think if the cover is fully removable and looks good I'd want that. I seem to cross my arms a lot and tend to wake up the watch. But not to the point battery life is affected. A matte screen protector works just fine.
Check this out. Let me know if you have one or order one. The plain black looks reasonably priced. Wish there were real photos.

I'm trying to picture that on my wrist, and I just don't see it....
Maybe it would have looked better if they could have figured out a way to make it be round.

Not for me but it sure reminds me of the old Swatch guards lol!

Looks like the design was updated a bit.
Looking at the dimensions though, the case is actually quite thin, and doesn't increase the footprint of the watch very much.

The developer just updated the design of both models with and without covers. I am probably going to order black strong and flexible with the removable cover! Here is a photo he sent of the actual finished product (before revisions so current one will be even better)

I kinda want to see what that looks like on the watch. Is the watch screen easy to scratch and break?

I have had my watch for a week or two. It's got a screen protector. It's probably not going to break as it's secured to wrist. But I'm afraid I'll scuff the frame from a door or something.

I would never put such a monstrosity on my watch.

Ok. So the revision should arrive to the designer around January 14th. I will share any information as it arrives. So I would say my full review should be no later than the end of January.
If you are in a hurry and don't want to wait, just go ahead and order one. $17.99 with shipping for the latest version with the removable cover in Blue Strong & Flexible.
If you can wait, I would try to hold off for 1 month just in case it needs any more tweaking.
Here is a coupon code for 10% off valid until 12/30/14:

I love it! When I work it would help protect my watch. When and where can I buy?

So the developer is awaiting the receipt of his final revision. Pics should be any day now. I'll post asap. I'll be ordering one for sure!
It's the link in my first post, if you don't want to wait. You'll get the latest revision but I'm waiting for him to examine it just to be sure. He's already made adjustments.

Got mine shipped ?

Would love to see some pics and perhaps a review once you receive it.

I would also like to see when it will arrive?

I am so happy (for the sake of the developer) that I'm not the only one excited!
I would order one but the one with the cover has required extra adjustments. If I didn't need the cover I would have pulled the trigger.
The cover is removable. I just want extra display protection and the ability to have my watch vibrate without others being able to see it. This case bypasses the theater mode bug.
It will be like Christmas all over again. As promised to the developer, I will be doing a full review here, on a few other forums, and on YouTube. As for the time frame, I would say a week after the revision is inspected by the developer, so the 21st of January.

Ehhhh....Try Again
Really not what I expected. It is very light, yet feels very cheap. It falls off all the time. I take off my sweatshirt and it gets stuck in the sleeve and comes off. Next time, make one that wraps all the way around.
One thing i do like about it is that you cant even feel that its on there and now its harder for something to hit my screen....even though i already have some scratches.....
In my opinion, I would wait for an updated case... don't buy this one........

I placed my order yesterday for the latest revision, fully functioning, with cover. The main link posted here has been updated by the designer with photos. Just click through the colors.
I ordered the black detail. I am really excited.
@joedow325 maybe you could express your concerns to the designer. While I haven't personally used the product yet, it sounds like something I'd like still. I want it to be easily removable / interchangeable. And I don't really wear long sleeves that much. I dunno. I would think there could be a way to have a back snap on like a phone case. I wouldn't want any added thickness though. Millimeters start to add up ya know.

have to say its the most ugly case i have ever saw.

What is so ugly about it? Especially the one without the flip cover. It isn't like it makes the watch huge. Typical judgy people saying negative things before they even try once themselves. Just wait for my full review...

dude. its a watch!

gel skin for the htc touch hd

Hi guys,
Im new here and not long had my htc touch hd, but im loving it!
just wondering would anyone know where i could get a gel-skin for the Touch hd?
by gel skin i mean this
http://www.mygelskin.com/tytn-p1.htm
or this
http://www.gelaskins.com/
rather than a case,
only ive seen them for the laptops and they make your product really individual. the ones ive seen also look really high-quality but the problem ive had is finding someone to do them for this more nieche phone.
any help or advice would be appreciated, especially if anyone has looked into it themselves,
thanks,
p.s. i tried searcing it with nil response...
ebay and I must say they look quite cool
^no i couldnt see any, ebay doesnt have any that are the same as the website, the website sells vinyl stickers, rather than a rubber case.
found what i was looking for!
i will share it with you:
http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/HTC/HTC+Touch+HD+Scratch+Resistant+Skin
im not sure about the colour scheme in the images but you can make your own and they protect the device...
they do 2 sets one for $7 and one for $19 - but you can design your own for $7!!!
edit:
this is what its gonna look like:
ill take pics of mine once ive got it...
Hows the quality of skin? Is it worth it?
This is really cool, be sure to give us an update asap. I'm designing my own at the moment.
PS: I only see the 19 one, where did you get one for 7?
hey,
im glad some1 else has taken an intrest, because when i saw this i thought it was really cool although no-one seemed intrested on this forum.
To update, im still waiting for it to come, the site is in the US and i live in the uk, so i guess a week of waiting isnt so bad. It says it has been shipped, tho which is good. In fact, it took less than 24 hours to get to get shipped which i thought was impressive.
I went for the $19 one instead of the 7 because it covered more of the phone and it was a scratch proof version, so i shouldnt need a case with it.
you can see both below:
$19 version: http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/...Resistant+Skin
$7 version: http://www.uniqueskins.com/design.php?prod=889&opt=1610
sneaky tip: before i bought it i found a 25% off coupon on the order plus the shipping to the uk was only $3 so in total it came to $17, which if its as good as i hope its gonna be, is very good value for what it is -
a custom designed skin which is scratchproof plus a built in screen protector and it got sent half way across the world!
i will update with pics as soon as i get it....
also, i would love to see what designs other people have come up with...
It does look cool and practical, however, if it is anything like the Invisible Sheild (it looks similar) then I certainly wouldnt waste my money.

Yeah, I found the same coupon, it's 25off. Does the 20 one really cover more areas? Because the 7 one is really tempting, it's just SO cheap.
PS: I think they're showing the Blackberry Storm on the video...
^ the 20 one covers the sides whereas the 7 one doesnt.
without seeing either i dont really know which one is gonna be better value for money, however i went for the more expensive one because i dont really want to carry a case with the phone so im hoping it will be enough protection however, if you just want the artwork i guess the $7 will be better.
Thanks, I made this:

Well it is difficult to apply and wetting the device down is highly un-desirable imo, apart from these things the front protection contains 5 pieces including the screen protector (which is quite unclear unlike a quality screen protector) The smaller front pieces which adhere around the profiled edges came off in less then a week of putting HD in and out of pocket, also the screen protector and back cover started peeling off very quickly, not worth the money imo and for the same price you could buy a nice hand made leather pouch or a lot of other accessories.
Any news about the gel a skin yet? So excited to see how it turn out to be...
This some bs, I don't think any of them bought the gel skin. I have been waiting forever. They don't even post any updates so that we can know the damn progress of the shipment.
I call BS, and I have lost faith in the people who said they will post pictures and reviews.
I just applied the skin that i had ordered and it looks Cool
Downside : the screenprotector doesnt fit the screen so that's gonna get scratched

Stormtrooper G1 Mod

http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157622372652127/
Hey Everyone. I wanted to change my keyboard to a white one against the black of my original one, and ended up buying the whole housing for a white g1 on ebay. Thought it would be an easy fix, but was I wrong. came with a couple tools but I still had to buy eyeglass screwdrivers. Ended up having to do almost a complete disassembly to get the keyboard in, so the rest was simple! Ha ha JK the Screen frame was hard too! But in the end, after scaring myself every step of the way, I finally ended up with exactly what I wanted. I tested colormatch options through colorware to see which part combination I liked best. But its all about the contrasting keyboard, so awesome!

Nice! Looks like you figured out the brass inserts...that part kicked my arse until I just said screw it and hit em harder!
Thanks looks pretty sick
Dude. That looks pretty freakin sweet. Nice job.
Thanks everyone, surprised I haven't seen this before.
I'll add color somewhere later. Next I will create a custom back like the new credit card cases for the iphone, to hold a little cash, an ID and a credit card when I just need the bare necessities.
Yeah the brass inside sucked, as did the wires, the seal around the screen, but hell, I know my phone inside and out. Hell, I only learned how to root my phone a couple months ago, and I am NO programmer. Thanks to everyone on this site, I bricked my phone a bunch of times but was always able to find the solution here.
I wish I had a pic of the green back I painted when I first got it. It was bad ass but now its chipped- needed a clear coat.
dude, your phone looks SICK! I think it looks really good, you have some major cajones to even attempt this. I thought I was living fancy by mixing and matching different hard cases that I bought but you took it to the next level, haha
props for the sick mod
I say do the "chin" too. Looks good regardless, but I think the chin would give it the full effect.
WOW that looks awesome but the only problem is that the white keyboard is nearly impossible to read lol
And I thought my white battery door was cool! Great job there. It looks awesome.
Did you buy the housing from a US seller or a CHINA seller, i dont know if its true or not but I heard that buying from the CHINA seller might be a problem due to the fittings might be off. I need to confirm this before making my purchase....

u shouldnt really buy from china when it comes to things like this
try looking for a true OEM housing. shell out the extra cash... clone housings tend to be of lower quality

well i guess u take a risk with the sellers that claim the housings to be OEM
ir try to call htc themselvs, i doubt they will sell you a housing, but u can ask where they they their supplies from.

but i find it hard to trust ppl who sell housings.

Now you just need this wallpaper (I use it w/my white G1).

im into the whole black/white too. that looks wicked!
i found a cool battery door at the local tmo store, its kinda like a black/white liquid gooey web (donno how to describe it but it looks cool) and i used a ghost black dx top theme, i think itd fit your phone perfect.
google black and white wallpaper (images) theres a bunch that look awesome
love it haha
post more pics?
Thanks for all the responses!
Right about the keys, the letters do dissappear at dawn and dusk, but no big deal. I can still see my keys in the lowest light without having to move the trackball to light the keypad up.
Yes, this is a china knockoff. I think. Came from Hong Kong, and when I got it, I thought it was a cheap reproduction because of the lightweight plastic. But once I got it on, it feels awesome. No matte finish with the velvety touch, but instead a slick white high gloss. It was weird at first, but using it, it slides into my pocket way easier.
Fittings... Everything fit but two screws holding the screen piece on- the two at the top. The screws that are stock are smaller than the places they screw into. I was worried at first, and planned on getting some better ones from an eyeglass kit. But I don't need them. There is more than enough clips and the other big screw to keep it in place.
Yes, oem is better, but this mod cost me $30 total, and I really only wanted to do the keyboard in the first place so this is all still win for me.
Totally love my phone now, rooted on cyan's 4.1.1 exp, got my 8gig card in running all my apps and freeing up my memory to some 85mb internal memory... till I saw my buddy's new mytouch- 256mb internal memory! Now mine is slow again because I saw his...
Also on one other sidenote, my mytouch buddy just had to migrate from an iPhone, and he LOVES android! Go android!

your supposed to remove the brass inserts from the old bezel and transfer them. It is a PITA, but i was able to hammer them back in on the one I did. There are 2 like this on the center plastic where the keyboard goes as well.
Mine came from a US seller, and he accepted $25 shipped. Here is his link:

kinda looks like mine, but you got me beat with the keyboard. Nie work.

Platinum's Pseudo Active Case

Good stuff. Made by Seidio, but just branded Platinum. They had a name for it... Like a series. Instead of Active, it had it's own name, but I forgot it...
Also got the Super invisibleSHIELD.

Oooohhh, do like. So far this is the only Evo 3D case I actually like. I'll look it up. I'll probably buy one next time I get paid.

Lucky. Wish I didn't live an hour away from the nearest Best Buy lol
Mine has blue surface cases $29.99 and black surface cases with holster $34.99...
The Cruiser was black only, no holster $34.99...
The Heavy Duty one was black with holster. $49.99
I can't quite tell from the photos. Are the buttons covered completely? They have them in stock at both BBY's near me, and I might pick one up. Thanks
The only openings on the case are the screen/face, 2D/3D toggle switch, earphone jack and little mic opening.
Thanks Chris
i got the "rugged" version of this at best buy but returned it.. the fabric on the holster was messed up..
also, the case felt cheap.. i had the same case i got from them for the Evo and that one was good, loved it...
i have been a sedio fan for a while.. easy case to take off and put on.. i like to have the phone naked when i am phone. the otter box defender i got now sucks to take off!!! like the case but its a pain to take off.. not to mention the holster does fit the belt i use since its a wide riggers belt.
but i will be getting the sedio once its out and hope casualty is better than the best buy version.
Nice case but.....
I think these are nice cases, i even had one one my old evo but, if you drop it and it lands on the corner, those little claws will break. Unless they changed the plastic its made out of, that is the weak point of the case. I ended up with a ballistic on my last evo and that thing is a tank. I have the otterbox defender on my phone now. I always pic the most rugged case becase it keeps my phone in pristine condition which allows me to sell it and upgrade to the next phone for free.
yup , just as ugly (and probably as fragile) as the ones on the original evo....

Maybe some people can't handle the case. Contact Seidio, they are pretty good about it.
Maybe they don't create a quality product.
I've had a Surface and a couple Actives on my Evo. Had a Active on my Epic and never had a single issue. Maybe I baby my phones. I dunno. They've been more than great for me.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
?
When did you buy your first active limited? How long did you use it? Maybe they fixed their quality issues...?
I know it wasn't only me having issues with the tabs - at the time I got on XDA/Amazon and everybody seemed to be experiencing the same thing. I started the return process and let them know that the tabs were an issue and I am sure others did as well.
I really hope they did fix this problem, because I loved the case other than that or I would have never bought a second one (I was hoping it was a fluke)
In the end I just went back to my official HTC case. I didn't like it near as much but I never had issues with it either.
Later,
Matt
I started picking them up around November 2010.

Anyone try the Incipio Feather for our GSII?

There's no cases in stores around me (Bay Area) because they didnt sell the phone here so i have to buy one online. Anyone have this case? Is it good? Mic holes? Thanks
http://www.myincipio.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-ATandT-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-ATandT-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
The case keeps the super slim profile of the phone, adding no bulk at all. Keeps scratches off the back but i think if you drop this you'll be in trouble, i like it though. Also the screen protector they send with the phone is the International version with the home button cut out.

finally! ive been waiting for the feather to come out for our device. ive had this for my iphone and its my fav case ever.
according to the pics from the site, doesnt look like any of the mic holes are covered even on the noise cancellation. the cut out looks big enough.
I have the other case they sell and it is an amazing case but the power button is hard to press. It is a very noticeable difference and I'm still deciding if its a deal breaker or not. You have to press it from the right angle every time and it is annoying.
Looks like the top is is actually open. I think I'ma try this one.
Too bad they don't offer white or red -- I'd be all over it in a heartbeat...
EDIT: I'm going to go ahead and try the blue one.
If anyone is interested, there's a 15% coupon floating around: FBFAN2011
(Note if you just add the item to your cart and you try to pay there is no place to enter the promo code, but if you add to your cart, browse the site a little more, and then click 'view cart' at the upper right hand as if you were going to edit the order, you can then add the code -- at least that is what worked for me)!
Looks tempting - if anyone can compare with the Casemate barely there and/or the Rearth Slim I'd appreciate it - I've got both of those but I'm always willing to upgrade
Looks like ill be getting it then
Ordered mine on Saturday, got the shipping confirmation today. Hope to get it by the end of the week!
FYI- I recently got the casemate barely there and despite what I read the top is cut properly for our i777 top mic, just like the pic posted above.
Hope that may help some who were unsure about it.
Mine should be here today

Just got it now, im going to update the OP when the pics finish uploading.
Thanks for sharing, seems like a cool case.
Thanks for the pictures.
I'm a little bummed out because I thought the sides went around to the front a little more. Based on Picture 3 in the OP, it looks like the screen will sit flush on a surface if it's placed faced down. That's one thing I really liked about my Case Mate case right now.
My case comes in on Friday, I'm hoping it works out ok.
Sorry, wrong case comment
I too wish it had the lay on the table design
Well I got my case in and tried it out. Sure enough, it doesn't fit quite right on the bottom part of the phone. I'm really disappointed, I think that is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to have to worry about my phone screen getting scratched up due to the poor fit. I also suspect this will make the phone susceptible to falling out of the case as well.
Bummer.

you should probably try to exchange for another one. can you take some pics of how it doesnt fit quite right? im about to order one but if its a bad batch, im gonna wait a bit before i order.
i have the same model for my iphone and love it. i have 4 different color. this model doesnt wrap around to the front and create a lip. its pretty much just a thin plastic skin for the phone.
Here's what my case looks like.
I used the case tonight and it feels like the phone pops out of the case. It seems like the area that going around the bottom of the phone and the bump. When I squeeze the sides, it feel like it gives a little bit and somewhat clicks to look more like the top of the case, but it doesn't stay.
I'm emailing Incipio to see what they can do. I don't really want to get the other case, so I will probably just return it.

ProCase SlimSnug Case

Thought I'd start up a dedicated thread for this case.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MJXK8VM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
At an average of under $10 on Amazon, this case is a quarter of the cost of the official case. It adds the protection of a hard cradle that the tablet sits in, which the official case doesn't offer.
Based on the popularity of the case on Amazon, I'd suggest NVidia may lose some sales of the official case to ProCase.
One thing to consider is that this case might interfere with passive cooling as suggested in https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/767648/shield-tablet/3rd-party-case-/
For that price, I'll drill vent holes in it if necessary. ?
In going to take the risk and have ordered one.
Looks nice, I have a similar case for my Nexus 7 but I don't want the back all covered up. I'm still holding out for a cover that snaps into the bottom of the tablet (like the official cover).
I kinda wish there was a really snug bumper for it with a lip that would cover the harsh bezel edges with rubbery comfort.

Yeah, they really are rather sharp. Not quite sure why they decided to go that way with the design.
I ordered one of these and it just shipped today. I probably won't get it until late next week (US holiday on Monday) but I can take pics and give some basic impressions when I get it if any is interested.

Right, it's winging its way over to me with the shield controller. Should have them in about 3 or 5 days.
Mine arrived yesterday; I got the green one. I very much like the protection provided by the snap-on case and the magnetic cover "latches" nicely in the closed position. Opening the cover does wake the tablet which is also nice.
The cover folds back but does not seem to magnetically "latch" to itself or the rear of the case in either the "keyboard" mode, the "movie" mode, or folded flat against the back of the case. The "keyboard" mode works easily enough as the weight of the tablet holds it in position but the "movie" mode doesn't work well for me but perhaps the cover joints will loosen up a bit and work better over time.
I find the protection aspect (and price) of this cover to be far superior to the nVidia case but the nVidia case works far, far, better as a stand than this one does, at least mine.
<edit> Please see additional comments and retraction in the next post. </edit>
I retract my previous statement regarding the cover not magnetically latching to itself in the "movie" stand mode. There is a magnetic clasp there but you have to fold the cover into the proper geometrical arrangement which I clearly had not been doing. When done properly, the cover does indeed snap to itself quite nicely and the tablet stands up properly for viewing a movie.
This is an excellent case and priced, in my opinion, lower than it is worth. :good:
Well I ordered the red one off of amazon, should be getting it tomorrow along with my 64GB Samsung SD card. Hopefully will have my shield next week, have to wait for Best Buy to ship it.
Update: I received my case, and I have to say I was actually impressed with the quality of the case. Much better than I was expecting. My Shield shipped already so I should have it soon.
Just got mine. Nice case.

@aznmode, yeah just got mine. Same colour as yours. It's performing great for me. I just wish the magnetic clasp was able to grab onto something more secure when it is in "stand mode". I find the magnet sometimes pops loose for me. It's trivial to reaffix it again, so for the price I'm certainly willing to turn a blind eye to this behavior.
With the Procase, do any of you guys notice the shield getting hotter than usual?

I played HL2 last night and it got as hot as it did when I didnt have a case. There aren't really any vents on the tablet that it covers, so I don't see how it could affect it. If anything it should act as a heat sync and help with the heat.

Ok Thanks for the quick reply. I'm debating if I should order this case as well as the controller or order the official cover

I played Sky Force 2014 (not Tegra enhanced, but pretty graphically rich for a shmup) and immediately after ending my 2 hour session of almost non-stop gaming, I opened System Monitor (app) and my temp was 40 deg Celsius. My Nexus 7 was climbing up to about 60 deg Celsius on the same game.
How is it when you have the covert folded back but flat against the back of the shield? does it lay completely flat? Can someone post a picture if they have it please.

It lays practically flat, with just the smallest amount of rake down from the cover fabric hinge to the metal clasp.
Hope it helps.
Thanks @jaredmorgs!!! I was waiting for someone to show a pic before I order it.
