Otterbox type case for Tab 4 7.0 - Galaxy Tab 4 Accessories

I can't seem to find any otterbox type protective cases for the Tab 4 7.0, they are all for the tab 3. Anyone have any reccomendations? I keep my tab in my Jeep, so I need something pretty rugged to protect it. Not looking for anything 100% waterproof, just something to keep the tab safe

I recently purchased a case on Ebay.. Been playing with it.. Seems sturdy enough, not as tough as an Ottobox, but pretty close..

I'm using the Blue and White one now.. Feels pretty decent for such a cheap price..

Does it protect the screen? I used a Supcase for my S5 active, and it looks very similar to the one you linked. It was decent for the money, but at the time was the only case available for the S5 Active

No it doesn't.. You would have to have a screen protector.. It does not have a protective cover.. So it would NOT be water resistant..
I didn't want one anyway..

There is a case on amazon called a rhino case for about 20 dollars . its setup muck like an otter box defender that has built in screen protection. Hope this helps you

Thats is the EXACT, case I just said to purchase.. It's EXACTLY what I'm using now..
Look at the link I posted.. It does NOT come with a screen cover...
Please in the Future, look at the link.. and then compare..

I looked at it(well the pics) , but guess failed to read the description lol. I'm really looking for something with built in screen protection as well. I wish otterbox wasn't so damn expensive. Guess you pay a premium for the name...

I have an otterbox for my Galaxy S3.. I do not like the plastic screen that sits on top.. Makes it hard to touch the actual screen..
if your looking to make your device water proof, this won't do that.. as long as their is an opening for the speaker or mic.. water will easily get in and still ruin your device.. I would personally suggest a screen protector for that..
If you are looking for an Ottobox, 35 dollars on Ebay/Amazon is a pretty decent price..

I have seen a variant of the rhino WITH a screen protector built in on amazon. Just like otter box has its variants and life proof also!

I got a Poetic Revolution off Amazon and it's pretty decent, feels quite solid, has a built in screen protector. The flaps for the headphone/charger are kinda annoying in that after they've been open a while they don't quite close all the way for a while, but that's my only complaint.

case:
amazon com /gp/product/B00NU5E0XA
screen protector:
.amazon com /gp/product/B00K1SCJT6
it´s the combo that i use in my tab

After I dropped it and broke the lcd, I decided to get an Otterbox. I ended up getting one for $25 from someone that owned a tab 3 7" and accidentally bought one for a tab 4 7". Their loss my gain. BTW replacing the lcd and digitizer wasn't too bad, especially considering there were very little tutorials for the tab 4

Flip cover + Speck CandyShell case

Hi, I own a Skyrocket but my wife has a Galaxy Note. She was looking for a case that would protect the screen from being scratched in her purse and also something that would protect against bumps or falls.
At the store, we realized that there was not such a case, but we found that combining these two works pretty good.
So, I jut thought I would drop by and show you guys how the two fit/look.

That's actually a good combo. My gf has that same speck case, but I protected her screen with the moshi protector.

OtterBox N700 vs I717

Alright, I've been searching for the past 30 minutes and can't seem to find a definitive answer, only questions like I have.
Is the Otterbox Defender case for the N700 compatible with the I717. I would assume it is but want to confirm before I order.
I'm looking at this one and I have the [email protected] I717 version. It's the cheapest I have found so far.
http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-SAM2-N7000-20-E4OTR-Defender-Samsung-Note/dp/B007PYMG06/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1341861192&sr=1-1&keywords=otterbox+i717
Yes it is. Same part number for both models. You can check the N7000 forums for reassurance. The only thing on a 7000 is the home button. My 717 is in that very same Otterbox as I type.

Thank you very much!
Having never used an Otterbox, are they easy to take off and on? I wouldn't mind having one to protect it in certain situations, but for daily use I like to go naked.

wouldnt fit well. n7000 has that huge home button in the middle. built in screen protector wont be compatible.
bought it from Amazon and it fits perfectly. I'm sure it voids the warranty but I removed that nasty plastic screen protector. Not sure how anyone could stand having that thing on! It's not perfectly clear and scratches easily. Other than that :good:

Now more than ever, if you've removed the built in screen protector, be on alert for a build up of crap in between the screen and case. Personally, as bad as it makes the screen look, I've left mine on. My last Note, of 3 total, got a scratch on the screen. So just in case.... Yes, these Otterboxes are quite the case!

Is it necessary to buy a case for SGS3?

Is it really necessary to buy a case for our phone?
It is really beautiful the way it is (Without case), but I don't want it to scratch or something like that. The Rearth Ringke Slim looks nice.
Thanks in advance.
Accident do happens.
There are many cases for you to choose. Some cases make your phone looks great too.

Do you want to look after your phone?
Also this is really better suited to the accessories thread
I have the white Rearth Ringke case and it looks awesome, almost like there is no case on it. Problem is it doesn't offer much protection so I now have an otterbox defender.
I just use a back "screen" protector.
If your the type of person that looks after their phone then no phone needs a case.
I wouldn't go without a case for the S3....... unlike the S2 which had the back plate cover and come around the corners of the glass, the S3 glass is technically unprotected. Drop it on a corner and you are more likely to crack the glass panel.
The exterior of the phone is quite handsome, at least the pebble blue is. But do you really want to drop 600 for another or less for a repair that might not really repair....

Case will not fully protect your phone but should at least minimize the damage in case of accident.
I would really recommend to get it.
you don't need to use the case to protect your phone, because the phone was tested again and agian before we bought it, such as water proof, anti-scrach test.
but if you really want to buy a case for your phone, i jus advice you to buy the case on some normal and very famous website, just in order to not be cheated, here is a good cell phone parts shop.
Finally, iu want to say that if your phone need case just depond on your mind.
Do hope my advices can help you.
Thank you all for your responses.
Unfortunately, in Colombia we don't have a lot of cases to chose from (yet?).
I can choose between an Otterbox Defender (Black case) and a Rearth Ringke Slim (White case). My phone is white.
What do you recommend?
Again, thanks in advance.

Found a tough case at a great price

Got this case off of EBay delivered for $32. It's called a PEPKOO ULTIMATE. I think Love Me and possibly another company makes some almost identical. They are aluminum with Gorilla glass screen protector, screws together instead of snaps like an Otterbox and doesn't get all the dirt and trash around the sides of the screen. I've been using mine for a month now and thought I would share my review of it. It's tough, cool looking and I have no complaints. Don't forget it was $32.
uhm, good!
From the reviews I have seen, the S-Pen is Damn near impossible to take out, and the sound is horribly muffled.

You could have gotten it cheaper too on Ebay. It's the same case as the Love MEI series. Those are $23 on ebay.
Also your cell reception just took a dive by half because of the aluminum. I only use mine when I go snowboarding. The extra weight adds to my balance, lol.
I saw after I ordered it about the s-pen complaints and I don't have any trouble. I'm always somewhere the signal is great so that hadn't been an issue. I would have loved the even cheaper priced one but compared to an otterbox, This case is king. I've had an otterbox for every phone I've had in the last 6 years, starting with a blackberry and had to constantly take it apart and clean dirt and dust out of it. I never have to do that with this one. I stand firm and recommend this case or an identical copy over otterbox any day. If I paid $ 40 I would still be satisfied.

Yeah I definitely recommend it to anyone who can put up with those things. I like the comments I get when I whip it out(no pun intended). People always ask in amazement if it's a phone and what phone it is. Then again I have the original model so it's even bigger than the new slimmer ones which I might get soon.

I just have a question, where exactly did you see this for so cheap? The only link I can find on Amazon is for $69:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00HFMUVG4/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
I got it off of eBay. I work in the oilfields of West Texas and we have some rough weather, especially dust storms. With the otterbox I was having to take it apart every couple of days to clean the dirt and dust that would make its way inside it. Then the abrasive dust rubbing against the plastic screen protector would have it scratched up in a mater of a month or so. I haven't had to take this case apart yet to clean it and that dust isn't going to hurt the Gorilla glass. I put a couple screen shots of the add on eBay so you could see the seller and the product.
It's awesome

Nice yeah like It .
I'm sure it's a great case if your going to throw it down a mountain, but in my opinion it's way too bulky.
Bulk
If bulk is an issue, then I would suggest an Iphone, I think they still small enough to fit in a matchbox. But all jokes aside, it still easily fits in my back pocket and as I stated before, I need my phone protected from the elements. I never said this case would suit everyone but if you wanted a case that was built for hard core protection, I recommend this one. I have now had it for two months and I hope I can always get one to fit future phones.
How heavy is this? Do you have issues with sound? Have you waterproof tesed the case and how did it do?
Same here,
If a case makes my devices useless, well then it's useless. I can see the draw to a waterproof solution as I hit the lake often during the summer months and don't do much out there other than check things on the screen from time to time. But for that there are cheaper solutions, none of which I trust completely anyhow.
Lets hope that they up the IP rating on the note 4.

LoL this in is not the waterproof version. Its the water resistant version. Love Mei adds some water proofing in there. There is a difference this one, Lunatak's and Love Mei's. I think they all have the same base manufacture. My Dad has the Lunatak's case for the iphone, his signal doesnt take a hit, also it makes the phone feel like a brick. AND I really mean a brick.
You guys want real waterproof head over to the red pepper note 3 thread.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I had purchased a similar metal case for my Note 3 from Love Mei. It looks cool but I dont like it.
1. I made my phone to look big, almost the size of Tab 7.0.
2. Its non ergonomic for long time use, you'll not be comfortable holding it while text messaging.
3. Not to forget that it adds weight extreme weight to your phone. Trust me, you can't answer calls for more than 20 minutes due to its weight.
4. Since its a water proof version, the sound ports and receiver speakers are covered with thin membrane of some material (sort of rubber or plastic). Thats make the sound to be scatered and unclear
5. The glass protector will have the rainbow effect on screen when it touches the phone screen.
These points are based from my experience. I sold my case to another guy.
Currently Im with Trident Kraken AMS, and I love it to the max. It saved my phone without single scratches falling from the height arnd 6 feet.

Original Samsung case best quality Samsung has made to date

I've owned a slew of Samsung tablets over the years and Samsung has uniformly released overpriced, horribly built cases for their tablets.
The Tab Pro 8.4 case on the other hand is actually a premium quality case. It compares well to my Apple original Mini Retina case except it is much slimmer/lighter (a good thing). An actual leather finish, and a precise fit.
Not cheap but oh so awesome :good:
i like it too and came free with my 10.1 purchase at BB
Just so expensive!!

What is the model number for this case? Where did you purchase it from?
Sent from my SM-T325 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I bought it, and I'm returning it back! The case doesn't protect the tablet as it should: the right side of the tablet stays very exposed (looks like it doesn't cover the whole device), and it's not magnetic to keep it closed - iPad cases are magnetic as well the Poetic case I bought for my Nexus 7 2013 edition. By the way, that Poetic case is very well made, and provides a very good protection to the device. I'm returning the Samsung book case and I'll buy a Poetic for my 8.4.
I'd read some Amazon reviews on the Poetic case. There are claims that the magnets impact the screen negatively. I had an Asuxtek case very similar to the Poetic and found it very bulky.
Also the Apply original case for the Mini does have a slight magnetic grip to keep it closed but is minimal at best.
I read it too today, and for sure it is a real concern. However, it seems to only affect the Note 8, but of course i'm not sure. What I can say is: I have it on my Nexus 7 2013 since brand new and no issues at all. My wife also owns a Nexus 7 2013 and no issues either. But the thing is: if the case starts to cause any issues like those described on Amazon reviews, does it really damage the tablet, or only while using the case?
Just got mine (Samsung case) today from B&H photo...got it barely used for 30 shipped. I feel it's well worth that price. Nearly no added bulk and just enough protection...solid case.
How does it go when using the cover as a kickstand in landscape? It looks similar to the note 8 case which I could not get to stand up correctly, the 2 fold in the case would never stay put and the tablet would fall flat. I want the Samsung case cause of its build quality but only of it does the job it is advertised to do.

I understand this. But when I try to use the magnet and cover to "fold" into a stand, the magnet doesn't seem to be very strong. It doesn't take much effort to have it all fold flat and crash to the table/desktop.
