[Q] Apps to sd Hisense Sero 7 pro - Hisense Sero 7 Pro Questions & Answers

A couple months back I bought a Hisense Sero 7 pro because the thing was a steal for only $85. First tablet I've ever bought and I love the thing. Only complaint I really have is the fact that I only have like 5.7 gb of usable memory. I bought an SD card in hopes of being able to move apps to make more room, but the option just isn't there. I've never rooted a device before and want know if rooting the device will give me the ability to move apps to th
e SD card. Really don't want to have buy a new tablet but 5.7 gb just isn't enough.

You got approx 4 gigs of space to install apps on and 8 gigs for any that can install on an sdcard on 16 gig Sony S.

[Q] Nook 16GB

Hi, I'd like to buy nook tablet 16GB.
My question is if it is different in any other way than the 8GB?
Is rooting procedure the same?
I know it might be a silly question but I've seen that many people around have only 8GB.
And the last question, maybe I'm a little bit lazy, but does root procedure enable me to do the dual boot, or I can do it without rooting? Is dual booting more efficient than just "modding"?
the first model came with 1GB of working ram and the later comes with 512MB so that one fact is giving the forum developers a 'major' pain...
.
imho, i believe you just need to go to the general section and do some reading of the FAQ posts...
Simply rooting on the stock OS enables access to content/features you otherwise would not have. However, there are still some limitations. You could thus install cm7 or cm9 (cm9 only for 16gb model) internally, saying goodbye to the stock OS entirely. You could leave the internal OS alone and make a bootable SD card for cm7 on either NT model. This would thus allow you to either boot into cm7 or B&N android (dual boot). Do some reading and see what fits your needs best.
I should note that while many people avoid replacing the internal OS due to worries about voiding the warranty, it is trivially easy to return this thing back to stock conditions and B&N would never be the wiser.

What do you mean by "working" RAM?
Like every model has 1GB of RAM, but later ones have only access to 512MB?
Last fall, Barnes & Noble unveiled its Nook Tablet in a very distinct way. Instead of matching the Kindle Fire’s $200 price, the CEO systematically trashed the Fire with an entire slide show full of ways that the Nook Tablet was superior to the Fire (spec comarison here) and worth its more expensive $250 price tag. Among its vital advantages was double the storage (16GB) and RAM (1GB) of the Fire. Compared to these specs, the Fire underpowered and slow, the B&N argued. It’s only been a few months, but oh how things have changed. Today, B&N unveiled a new version of the Nook Tablet with the same RAM and storage as the Kindle Fire. The price: $200.
To be fair, even with the drastic cut in specs, the Nook Tablet does still have a few advantages over the Kindle Fire. We were never able to obtain a Nook Tablet for review, but from our impressions at the launch event, the ‘VividView’ display on Nook is much better and the microSD slot for expanded storage is nice, if you need it. But the cut in RAM will likely mean that the tablet will lose that quick responsiveness that separated it from the sluggish Fire.

Is there any way (except from asking a question to a seller) to find if this tablet has 1GB of RAM?

[Q] XDA I Need Your Advice

So I bought a Brand New Nook Tablet 8GB model from ebay and it was labeled as a Nook Color, and since there was only one picture of the box i didnt pay much attention to it, and since it's a tablet i paid $160 for i feel like i got a great deal on it
I was hoping to get a Nook Color and install CM7 on the internal memory, but since i have a 8GB Nook Tablet I'm finding that i cant really do anything with it, what im planning on doing is selling this one on ebay, getting my money back and using that to buy a Nook Color
So here's where you guys come in, should I sell this one and get a Nook Color?
Or should I sell this one and get a Nook Tablet 16GB?
Or should i just not even sell it?
keep it

I would have to say keep it. The nook tablet development has come a long way and you are at LEAST able to boot to the SD version of CM7. There is a significant performance difference between the NC and NT (My Wife has NC with CM9 and I am running the 16 GB Tablet with CM9). If you read through the threads you'll find instructions on how to get CM7/9 installed internally on the 8 GB version. For $160 the NT is a pretty good deal considering it's worth ~$200.
Dumb question - how can i tell if I have the 8gb or 16gb? I bought it back in Nov. and am pretty sure it's the 16gb....
If you bought in November, you have the 16gb.
The 8GB was launched in late February.

[Q] MicroSD Suggestion

Hello everyone, I've just realized I have no SD card on my 32GB D855 with stock Lollipop 5.0, rooted ant twrp recovery (even though today I've done a backup with Nandroid it said it had saved it on my SD ?).
I've read somewhere that there are compatibility issues with these new smartphones, so I'll just ask here before spending money on something that might not work
Another question: is getting a >32GB card worth it? I have still 10GB on my phone memory and I don't store films or stuff like that, but I have started modding the phone so maybe I'd better get something with more storage than I think I would need atm.
I should also mention that I live in Italy so some models I've seen in other threads might be too expensive (Kingston, Samsung and SanDisk are the most common ones I could get here). I wouldn't go over €40, but if you say 32GB is more than enough I'll happily save that money for something else.
I have a 64gb Samsung in mine. Got it from Amazon
32 gb seen enough for you. You end up with a 64 Gb device.
I always buy Sandisk.

[SOLVED]Help with identifying my birthday present!

Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a 7" tablet from my parents as a birthday present, and I have a niggling problem with it, but first I need to properly identify it.
Help me identify it
I know it is an Archos, it was bought from Argos in the UK, branded as an ALBA 7" Tablet. Using CPU-Z I see it is an Archos, but I can't identify exactly which model. The Board is listed as an AC70PLV2, it uses a MediaTek MT8127 chipset. Can anyone tell me exactly what Archos model it comes under? Cobalt? What Gen is it? If I Google AC70PLV2 only the Argos page comes up, no other results.
My issue
It is running Android 5.0.1, I have inserted a 16GB SD card, and there is NO Move to SD option, anywhere for apps. It only has 8GB of storage, 4.23GB of it is used by Firmware, leaving me with only 3.72GB usable after disabling all non-removable bloat. If I cannot move game data to the SD the tablet is useless to me and I'll have to regrettably ask my mum to take it back. I saw on some forum that if I go into Storage in Settings, then click Apps, then the three dots at top right, there should be a Storage Preferences option allowing me to change default storage to SD, but there isn't, only "Sort by Name", and "Reset App Preferences".
Installing games like GTA, SBK 14, and the new Android Tomb Raider temple run style game, all make the data be installed on internal memory, and as far as I can tell there is no emulated SD on it. There appear to be folders on the external SD for the games, but it isn't using them, it's using internal.
I've come from an Ace 2 phone which had Cyanogen 10.2 custom ROM, everything was perfect with it, and all big apps could be moved, as I swapped the storages around on it. Is there a Custom ROM for my tablet that I can do the same? I'd take screenshots but don't think this stock thing has the option. It's a cracking tablet, just this one issue for large games is a dealbreaker. I can run videos, pics and music off the external SD just fine. My dad's Galaxy S5 is running Android 5.0, his has a Move to SD option, and that's with stock TouchWiz
Anyone that can help I thank you so much. I don't want to demean myself having to ask my mum to take it back I have a feeling Archos have nobbled it, but that's crazy as it only has 3.7GB usable. One final thing is I DON'T want to be using 3rd party move to SD apps. This option has been built into Android for as long as I remember, why it's missing now I don't know.
Hello,
This tablet has to be an Archos Platinum 70.
This id matches in the build.prop of mine, altough both ac70plv2 and ac70pl3 appear, the latter being used as a model id for OTA updates, so I suspect I might have a newer revision.
Otherwise, the two tablets look like clones based on what I can find on the Alba-branded one.
This tablet boasts Archos' new trick called "unified storage", where space provided by an external SD card is supposed to be merged with internal storage, transparently making it bigger.
Obviously this doesn't seem to work this way on yours. DIfferent firmware version?

Thankyou lannig! I was curious about the unified storage, but no it doesn't seem to work. It appears to treat them the same, but once the internal is filled the "Insufficient storage" error keeps coming up, not giving me the option to use the external. Archos have just updated their website, and the Platinum 70 is indeed the same one as mine, I hunted for hours on their site and it wasn't there before. Sadly I've decided to ask my mum to see if she can get me a 16GB tablet, but it's nearing the 30 day limit, she doesn't have the money just yet, so I may end up stuck with the Platinum. A real shame, if it had 16GB internal storage it'd be perfect, but 8GB is the only option they offer for this model.
Well, if you're a very, very daring soul, you may want to try applying the OTA firmware update meant for the Archos Platinum 70.
It can be found at http://update.archos.com/AFMv1/storage/files/full/ac70plv3/20150723.065346/update-from-archos.zip
You'll have to install it from stock recovery.
Since I suspect there might be subtle hardware differences between the Archos-branded model and yours, there's a significant risk of bricking it. You have been warned.

Thanks again Lannig, although there's no need for that, as today my tablet was replaced, and I am one HAPPY bunny! I've received the 8 Inch Bush Spira B1 32GB (An Archos AC80DPL) as a replacement, and it has the default storage switch option that the Alba was missing, so now I have 64GB of switchable space including my SD card! I KNEW someone had crippled that cheapo Alba!
You've been wonderful with your advice, thankyou ever so much for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it, and will do the same for you if I ever see you needing rescuing from a disaster, SuperNerd James to the rescue!
Well, thanks for the feedback. Glad to know that it turned out this way for you
And you're quite welcome.
Didn't realize that these Archos tablets were being sold rebranded under so many different names abroad...
Bush Spira 8" 32 GB
That's weird. I've got the same Bush Spira tablet as you but I don't have the option to combine the internal and external memory. In fact, the opposite is true. I can't write anything to the external micro sd card at all, seems like they nobbled this one too, obviously after you got it.
What is your firmware version? Seems like I've got a different version.
