I advise not to partition internal SD...
but here's some instructions to partition your external SD if something was not very clear...
use Minitool or some other partitioning software on your PC
- delete all partitions on your SD
- Create first exFAT partition 90% of storage
- Create EXT4 Partition from the rest of the space that was left on the SD Card.
* if you cannot create exFAT partition, then format as fat32 and then format again using Windows to exFAT.

Repartition Internal en set external sd as internal sd

Your problem is your clockworkmod won't detect you have an ext partition right?
If yes, I know how.
If no, I don't understand your problem.

If you're still here more than two years later ... how do I solve the problem of CWM (or cm-10.2) not detecting an ext partition on a Galaxy Gio s5660?
I am using:
- MA6.kernel.gio-20131215.zip
- signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4+rfs.zip
- cm-10.2-20131228-NIGHTLY-gio.zip (Rashed from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432968)
- 8gb class 10 microSDHC card with 1gb ext 4 partition (primary, 4kb clusters) created in MiniTool Partition Wizard
Thanks!

CWM 6.0.2.7 - 64 GB ext SD card, Unable to mount / format / access, etc.

Hi there,
I have the following issue and hope to find somebody with a solution here in the XDA-world...would be great.
Of course I did some searching before I post here, but the results are not sufficient for me...
I am using a 64 GB external SD card in my Samsung Galaxy S III since a few days. Before I put data to the card, I performed a format via the phone itself. The access works great - I can use all my files when I use the phone in normal operation. (with Ultima Rom).
Today I downloaded the latest ROM release and wanted to flash it via CWM 6.0.2.7 and I encountered a problem - I cannot access the external SD card in CWM recovery. It simply say´s "Can´t mount external SD".
Why is it? Any solution proposals? I used to have a 2GB card and the installations worked fine with CWM here....
Is it a wrong formatting probably? Or the size?
Thanks for any suggestions!!!
You should do some search before post, but since you are here, I give you some briefly information, but you have to search more details yourself.
1. 64 GB sdcard is formated in exFAT file system which CWM recovery doesn't support it, that's why you have problem with 64 , but OK with 2GB sdcard. (Some latest recovery has now support exFAT I think )
2. Solution, format your sdcard into FAT32 file system, or change to 32 GB sdcard because unless you have countless files or blue ray movies otherwise you won't need 64GB at all, that's what I did, I had 64 and change to 32 to avoid any kinda potential problem

1. Use PhilZ Touch recovery (based on 6.0.2.8 - I think 6.0.2.7 was also very buggy - and with a new Samsung kernel supporting exFAT).
2. Format as FAT32.
I am currently using the 1st approach, but keep in mind that many ROMs (mostly based on CM10 stuff) still have a huge bug where the exFAT partition is not recognized but instead some stuff is written to the first sector - when that takes place just put the exFAT card in a SD-reader in Win7/8, reject any suggestion to format it and then from the command line run CHKDSK /F Letter:
Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot to both of you!!! It worked out! :highfive:
I also managed to search for "how to format an SDCard to FAT32", no problem.
To be honest I also had a look for a possible solution like you suggested prior to my post --> I just was not confident that these suggestions will solve the issue since I read many times "tried - but no success"...
I just wanted to be sure, coming back from work, not to spend hours to solve it, if you already have "the one working" solution available. Once again many thanks - I really appreciate this community, even if its my 2nd active post...

[q] please please help

hi guys I urgently need help I recently rooted this s tabl et I got as far as I know its a cheap China tablet but from the model number I gathered that its a mtk
8312 tablet so when I rooted I basically just wanted to create more storage by partitioning the SD card (16gb) because the tablet only has a4gb internal storage , so I rooted and got root explorer then followed a video tutorial about changing the system files to partition the SD card but I think I somehow messed up the instructions from the video now my problem is that even though I put my SD cardintothe device the device doesn't even recognise it and now the internal memory is full and I can't even download root explorer to change itLEASDE GUYS I AM LEFT TOTAKK IN THE DARK AND I AM HOPELESS PLEASE CAN YOUHELP ME
Hi.
This is the third thread you've created about this topic here in the XDA Assist section. Here are the first two you created:
[Q] Any help please desperate
[q] please help
As you can see I've attempted to help you in both of those threads, but you failed to reply with the information I asked from you. Please keep track of the threads you create, and try to provide the information that we request, so that we can help you effectively.
At the moment I think all you need to do is insert the sd card into a PC and use Windows Exporer to format it to fat32 format. This will of course wipe the sd but it's probably empty at this point anyway. Once it's formatted it should hopefully be recognised by your device.
Good luck!
So, @KELSHO1822, have you resolved your problem?
i have formatted and i am still having the same problem , the only info i have about the tablet is that it is a mtk 8312 tablet
I'm pretty sure that's the chipset that's in the device, not the actual device model number. Anyway, I'm going to have your thread moved to the general q&a section where it will receive more exposure, standby while we have it move here:
Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

[GUIDE]Swap Internal Memory to External & Vice Versa
I Have Ported This From Sony Xperia M forum By Changing Mountpoints & Credits Goes to Me & The Developer Gadgetroid.
Our Beloved GALAXY STAR sure packs a lot in such a small device, but then, does it pack enough internal memory to install a huge number of applications? It does not. With just a little over 2 GB, it is very cumbersome to find that you cannot download data for large games. This guide aims to resolve that issue.
Our Member binali_rustamov Has Compiled an Application For That
PROCEDURE:
1.Your Phone Should Be a ROOTED one
2.Download & Install the App From the attachment
3.Click The SMF Button
2.Your root manager should request you for permission. Grant the app superuser permission.
4.Now Your External sdcard Will be Unmounted&Then remounted
YOU ARE DONE!!
For Screenshot See The Attachment
You Should Do This After Every Reboot.
