1. it is safe to flash because this chinese ROM i uploaded is flashing with Flash Tool and flash tool will erase your existing ROM. Now because you say that your phone is 8Gb you must find a KK or JB stock ROM for your phone and update till KK last version. What i uploaded is for 4Gb phones.
2. because your phone is made in 03.2014 you must use the new preloader. You will find here. Replace the original preloader with this one and will work.

overall this rom is amazing
but i have minor problem, i cant find the notification bar setting
so i cant change or add something like rotation and the others
and google maps stopped working

I have some experience with custom ROM ex. SLX. Now, I want to try Alice project on my P780 8GB but i'm using ROW 8GB S227. Please advice CN ROM for 8GB and step for install CWM/TWRP Recovery on it.

Hi. Try to update to the last firmware 7.3. After update, tell me if its still doing that!
Sorry for my silly question before. Now I try to flash with VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_7.14.1_ST.zip. It's fine on my 8GB and I found it already have TWRP. I wipe data, cache, system, and dalvik cache and install alice project 7.0 is fine. Then I flash 7.4 over it again and now trying to use it.
tested this rom,
- 7.0 works, dual-sim ok, patches flashed.
- after installing updates got bootloop
- patch 7.3 broken on your google drive
- patch 7.5 availible over alice homepage
- ota / online update not working with version 7.0
- missing standard mail app & couldn´t set up EAS.
- terrible flow-in animations IMHO
- Magnetic Sensor not working with 7.0
- setup with german language - nice

Problem with AdAway
I have problem when apply AdAway on my P780 8GB (with Alice project 7.5). I check /system/etc/hosts file and found it reset after I manual reboot the phone and configure of URLs that apply by AdAway (in the hosts file) was disappear.
I try to search and found same issue on other phone too. I'm not sure it is problem on 4.4+ or it have write protect in /system partition on this ROM.
what about reborn or cyanogen mod?
I find it interesting that the alice homepage includes links for a newer version of the rom (Alice Reborn v8.0) or for a custom cyanogenmod.
When in the site, go to Download > Firmware Itself > Lenovo p780 and you will find a link for Alice Reborn.
Under Download > Cyanogen Mod 11 > P780, there is the corresponding link for the custom cyanogenmod.
@stympy: Any reasons why you listed the v7 links in this forum and not the other ones?
Has anyone tried luck with these other versions?

Hi. I asked the Alice Project developers if i can post their work on XDA, and when i talked to them CM11 and Alice Project Reborn never existed!
I will post those 2 ROMS here after i ask them if they allow me to post! ok ?

Alice Project 8.1 Reborn
I like the fast and fluid on 8.1, it's better than 7.x. But I found problem with Google Setting, Email, Gmai, and some crash on Contacts & Phone when I search people for call. I will decide to rollback to 7.5 coz alicerom.ru not have update on this Friday.
Another prob, I found radio signal is not stable on alice project (7.x - 8.1). Please advice.

One+one cm11s lockscreen works well. Just flash the zip and reboot.

Unstable CM11 build
I'm using the latest (2014-11-02) CM11 build for I9300. I have the following issues:
Error when using the camera - "Can't connect to the camera"
Happens randomly - "unfortunately , the process com.android.systemui has stopped"
What can be done to fixed the mentioned bugs?
Try cm11 aosp fix camera you can find it on forum

A log would help. Grab it after system ui fc and post a link to the log so it can be looked at.
Same situation
Also have S3 with CM11 nightly from 2.11.2014 and can't connect to camera. Already done a reinstall of that CM11 and newest gapps manually by clockworkmod. Also whipped cache and dalvik cache. No change is done.
This Problem was starting with M10, start to occur more often with M11 on my unobjective perception.
Behaviour: Restart the phone let me start the camera once. After I close the camera once, it can't be restarted:
Attached you see the logfile of these case.

This thread is not for official cm builds. Test this ROM out. Better battery than official cm and the dev at least speaks to his user's. Best advice is to take the log to cm official thread.
Call Recorder
Hi,
CM add call recording option but it's disable by defaults.
I can't enable the option on CM and for my knowledge it can be enable on unofficial CM builds.
If I install this rom, can I use the native CM call recorder?
If not and it's depending on the developer, @Markox89 can you enable this in your builds?

I don't like Xposed since it's not support with ART and slow down the device , I prefer using App instead.
It will be much better if that include in the ROM, it support by CM anyway.
But of course it's your call...

If you mean "radio" like "listening music radio app" no, the ROM doesn't come with it, but the Play Store is full with such kind of apps

0. Be sure to be on China based Firmware!
1. Download the firmware and fixes in the root of the memory card ( / sdcard )
2. Go to Recovery (TWRP needed)
3. Do all wipe , except sd card and eMMC (or if there Preloader )
4. Choosing the firmware
5. Wait until the firmware install.
6. After the first start, go back in the recovery and put fixes

Link updated, I deleted a letter during my last edit.
To flash this rom you have to be on a CHINA BASE FIRMWARE such as Vibe 1.5 and with TWRP recovery.
If you flash this rom on ROW BASE firmware you will have boot loop.
Any major bug...?
It's around 1 month that I have this rom and I didn't found any major bug.

Works fine with dual sim.
I didn't tried to swith the 3g signal, because I don't have a second sim with data plan, but the option is available.
Gravity box works at 100% as far as I tested, but I didn't try all the options.

I'm not sure about. If you flashed the China firmware with sp flashtools but with EBR for 8gb version, it should work.
But I can't test it, mine is 4 gb version.

How did you flashed it with SP tools?
Did you created your own MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc for this rom?
how did you ceated the iso file. when I unzip i have a folder system witch is usually an .iso file?

I flashed the vibe 1.5 by flashtools, then, via TWRP I flashed this rom.
The vibe 1.5 is a China based firmware.
I will post a link with the vibe 1. 5 if is not present here

Hey guys i used P780_S308_130814 STOCK FIRMWARE to flash on top of my ROW S228 to install this ROM. Every thing went smooth. After installation I simply flashed over using TWRP. SO far the best ROM available for P780,
Battery - Performance - Stability all top notch.
And yes.. i have a 8GB indian version and i got around 2.95GB of internal storage for apps and remaining for data. How ever it uses external SD by default to save app data. If anybody knows how to swap it please let us all know. :good::good:

i rooted my phone(Octane Plus) at least a month ago and installed new custom rom of lenovo vibe ui 2.0 and it's working pretty much impresive . i liked the ui of the rom, but camera of the phone is decreased both rear and front. it becomes 13 and 5. also there is bugs in the camera as it looks not smoother than earlier.
also the battery is decreasing quickly.
can you fix it please.

You are using a rom that is not meant for our phone. So performance and compatibility issues will be there. Flashing the stock rom with ota solves the camera problem for me. I've tried many custom ROMs, vibe, miui, etc. But they all have max camera resolution of 13 mp. Only stock rom gives full 16mp.

Sure, give it a try. CM will take time, as the p5000 source hasn't been released yet. But I will eventually build a cm11 android 4.4.4 rom for this phone.

Don't know. These OTAs contain incremental patches that are not supposed to run on custom ROMs. But it might still work. Make a nandroid backup before trying.

Yes, I just recently ported twrp 2.8.2.0 recovery from stock source. Also managed to find old twrp 2.7.0.0, CWM and Carliv. Links are in the second post. I Will work on my own ports of Carliv and CWM later. I'm thinking of starting a new thread for recoveries. For now, twrp 2.8.2.0 source code for those who are interested in further development - HERE.
As for custom ROMs, sadly there are no custom ROMs available for "Octane Plus". But there are lots of roms available for Chinese phones that are rebrands of octane Plus. These roms work just fine, but few bugs. Most will have max camra resolution of 13 mp. Stock rom has 16 mp resolution. Links for these roms -

storage problem in rom
i flash miui v6 and material rom and both was awesome but my problem is it replaced my internal storage to external storage i.e. sdcard0 becomes sdcard1 and sdcard1 becomes sdcard0 it means my default write storage is my memory card so i want to change it plz help...

Yep, please follow the instructions below.
Enter developer options, and make sure root is authorized there.
Delete file system/smartisan_recovery-from-boot.p
Enter fastboot model and flash in new recovery.
Be careful that the GMS Installer and ROM OTA update might not work if you use a 3rd-party recovery.

On my Bacon I have TWRP and a custom rom.
Can I flash smartisan rom after a full wipe with TWRP recovery?

Contributor, as an employee of Smartisan, and it's a company project, not a personal work.
This build is the official international version. You could easily tell from the changelog that we removed quite a few modules that only work in China, say App Store, Game Center, Chinese Voice Search and etc. You could check the changelog and see all the work we made for international users.
Back to the version from the thread you mentioned, he shared our domestic market version. You will find that there's no Google services, and that the default language is Chinese. Anyway, it's not a good option for international users.
In short, both builds are official and developed by Smartisan, one for China market, the other for international release.

Rom works 100% no issues so far been using it for 2 days nice to have something different to use.
Bluetooth audio works flawlessly for me on this rom, was having pitch bend audio speed up & slow down on almost ALL other roms 4.4.4 - 5.1.1 - 6.0.1 but not on Smartisan ROM.
Clock screen , lockscreen & calc are nicely designed , tap to wake works perfectly overall very well made & stable rom many thanks.

May I know which launcher setting you prefer, 9-Grid or 16-Grid? And How you think of those re-designed icons, say Starbucks, IMDb, Youtube, Washington Post and etc? Yes, we re-designed over 2000+ App icons to better match our UI style.

@xcjchandler I would like to try this ROM, especially as I'm currently using your launcher as default with my current MM ROM. Before that, however, I would like to know it it can be installed over and encrypted /data (that I will of course wipe) and /data/media (that I would rather not wipe ).

actually, 2.6.0 is not an official version it's made in the free time of a Chinese developer (all credits go to him)
Edit: you can install google services if you want to, even in the Chinese version... via Smartisan market

just change launcher to "original"
then you can add widgets. However, I very much prefer the default option/setting

The firts STEP was very IMPORTANT FOR ME. I was trying very things for be able to use Android 11 and all GSI ROMS cause Bootloop logo animation. When I Flashed the FULL OTA with HURUPDATER the problem was solved and the ROM don't stuck in bootlooop.1. Flash full OTA from you STOCK Recovery or using HURUPDATER (in my case the version 8.0.0.333 >>>>> Huawei Mate 10 Lite RNE-L03 RNE-LX3 Rhone-L03 8.0.0.333(C25CUSTC25D1) Firmware 8.0.0 r1 EMUI8.0}) It must be EMUI8.0 not nougat
1.1 IF you are going to use HURUPDATER, please use the correct custom recovery (in mate 10 lite, twrp 0.5 works perfect for it)
1.2 RE-Unlock Bootloader (Because after flash OTA, your bootloader be locked)
2.1 With the TWRP 0.5 installed, you must decrypt the phone
- Flash the file Huawei-Decrypt (check attach files in this post)
- Format data from TWRP
- Then, Wipe data and factory reset, and system.
2.2 Search and Download a GSI ROM for A-only devices, in my case i've used it https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...0-devices-emui8.3936745/page-14#post-85690559 (Download the ROM and extract file img.xz into .img in your SD or your internal storage phone). You could search ROM using {Mod edit}
3. Installation (You need to decrypt phone, STEP 2.1)
Using Twrp 0.5 test ( recommended twrp )
- Wipe system data & cache.
- Flash crDroid image (OR the ROM, if you stay try using other ROM maybe could need it. Files for fixes OR flash the AIO-A11-GSIs file, in my case with this ROM, i dont need it by now.).
- Resize system.
- Optional: Flash gapps (be careful, latest nikgapps seem broken) this version works perfectly.
-Optional: Flash magisk (rename apk to zip, and after booting, vis versa to install the apk ) from here or here (don't use another version)

4. At this moment you should be able to Boot the new ROM and ENJOY!
5. (Optional Increase speed charging). If u want, you should go to Settings > Phh Treble settings > Huawei features > Huawei fast charge and charge default vale to mid-fast or FAST, check the best option for you with an app that allow check amp consumption

Hi thanks for your guide it helps me too boot Android 11 on my Mate 10 Lite (Rne-L21) i install the crdriod 7.10 that you recommend I'm facing an issue facebook and instagram videos are not playing some videos play and some don't other then that rom is working fine
Now i installed the dotos v5.2 but facing the same issue.

Hey bro i recommend you, install Siberia kernel, and use a updated ROM, DotOs is die, is very pretty but works very bad for us device, please check
https://sourceforge.net/projects/altairfr-huawei/files/ (here are all files for our PRA device, ROMS, patch for fixes, etc. Try use the most recently updated)
I suggest install LeaOs18.1 (Download PRA version, extract IMG, flash it.) and Siberia kernel (Download, extract img, install from bootloader using fastboot). Remeber that the LeaOs 18.1 Requiere use a patch -> 1-Huawei-DataPrep-DeCrypt-A-v1.0-signed.zip (Install it after flash system, and keep in mind that when flashing it, the data files will be erased)

You could flash directly LeaOs over system image, and then use factory reset on TWRP, the apply 1-Huawei-DataPrep-DeCrypt (It is very important, if not could get bootloop). And dont forget install siberia kernel. Greetings !
