tips/tricks/how-to's
Ok seeing how there is a few of people having trouble - whether is be not reading, not paying attention or just plain lack of knowledge. I'm writing the little section up to help alleviate this issue. Now, as we all know Flashing customizing can be tricky and cause problems. Also, each new built gets tougher to customize. and comes with its own bugs and nuances. But if we can all come together and help, This will make everyone's experience better.

This is a community. I see you guys as an extension to my real family.
Troubleshooting 101
First and foremost : I don't have all the answer, Hence why I relay on you guys to help out. So below is a collection of my knowledge and other users input.
Step 1 : of any ROM, read the install instructions and prerequisites before you flash a ROM. Don't think you can just flash any ROM and expect everything will work. Also, on that note, DON'T FLASH SOMETHING THAT IS NOT MEANT FOR YOUR DEVICE. I have seen too many times people hard brick because they don't read or pay attention.
Step 2 : read the OP. I try to make it as painless as possible to NOT bore you guys and gals with install instructions and directions. Nor do I try to make is complicated. If you can read, you can flash this ROM. If you choose not to read please, don't expect support. That goes for any Mods, Themes and ROMs......reading and understanding goes a long way.
step 3 : If you run into a bug, let the developer and thread know. But be as detailed a possible. The more information you can give the better help can be provided.
Please follow this Template :
HOW TO REPORT A BUG : (BUG REPORT TEMPLATE, IF YOU WANT A RESPONSE FOLLOW THIS!!!)

Below are a few examples I have come across. First one......Seen too many times. the Second one is much better.
trouble #1 :
I keep getting FC everywhere
Response :
What apps? what build are you on? How did you flash the ROM/MOD? what recovery were you using? do you have a logcat?
Trouble #1
I flashed the new ROM (latest build). It was a clean flash from TWRP recovery. I wiped everything. I made sure it was a good download. The MD5 Sum matched When I booted up I kept getting this FC message (message example). I tried rebooting to recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache - it didn't help. I pulled a logcat and uploaded it. Could you please help?
Response :
After reading the logcat, It looks like an issue with XXXX. I'll make a fix to patch the ROM/MOD. for now here's the work around XXXX
Android permissions explained
Here is how-to-read linux permissions when they are like this (0644 or 0755) or (RW-R--R-- or RWXR-XR-X)
Permissions:
User - who owns the file.
Group - that owns the file.
Other - Other users
R - Read the file.
W - Write or edit the file.
X - Execute or run the file as a program.
Now the permission table is broken up into READ/WRITE/EXECUTE permissions. That is for each let say "user". These are permissions for Owner / Group / Other. Permissions are like granting access for something run or be used. Now to get into the number type (0644). Now for those permission are represented in a value for each position. Read = 4 Write = 2 and execute = 1.
The first number 6 is for Owner. the second number 4 is for Group and lastly the third number 4 is for Other. Now wait, what about the First 0 that is in there? Its just a placeholder for the number system. Adding an extra numeric value (04644) Set UID / Set GID and Sticky) we can talk about later. Those are used in very special instances.
Let's break it down a little.
0644 the first 6 after the 0 starts the first column (reference root explorer) Then each number is the value. owner has value of 6. read & write is checked. Group has value of 4 (read) and other has the value of 4 (read) as well.
So using a little bit of math. read=4 write=2 and execute=1
Owner has Read and Write permission. Those add up to 6.
Group has the value of 4, which only mean it has read permissions. As well as Other.
Now if you understand that then you can read these RW-R--R-- owner group other.
Each three letter groups (RW-)(R--)(R--) stand for Owner then Group then Other. This is the letter representation of the permissions. Meaning Owner has read/write permissions and both Group and Other have only read permissions.
So, 0644 is equal to RW-R--R-- (RW-)(R--)(R--) | 0755 is equal to RWXR-XR-X (RWX)(R-X)(R-X)
See each group?
Hopefully that makes it a lot easier for you guys if you're not sure how to setup permissions before.
NOW LETS CHANGE PERMISSIONS VIA TERMINAL!!
Now if you need to change permissions with Terminal Emulator which is faster than manually going thru each script and/or app. You can do a bulk permission change as well with the following command lines.
As a General Rule, Folders will be 0755 (RWXR-XR-X) and the files within will be 0644 (RW-R--R--). your INIT.D folder will be 0755 and all the scripts inside will be 0755 as well.
Another rule, your folder cannot have less permissions as the files inside. they will break......there are exceptions though. (that's a one-off type scenario)
EX. system/ect/init.d (0755) and the files inside system/etc/init.d/datatest (0777) - NO GO
ex. system/ect/init.d (0755) and the files inside system/etc/init.d/datatest (0755) - Good
THESE ARE EXAMPLES - PLEASE USE YOUR HEAD IN WHEN USING THESE COMMANDS. THEY ARE POWERFUL
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/platform/soc.2/mmcblk0p15 /system
chmod 0644 /system/lib/*.so /system/app/* /system/priv-app/* /system/framework/*.jar /system/build.prop
chmod 0755 /system/etc/init.d /system/etc/init.d/*
chmod 0755 /system/xbin /system/xbin/* /system/bin /system/bin/*
Now notice that the permissions are in the number format. This is why I broke it down for both ways.
SU as we all know is the command for superuser access.
mount -o remount,rw to mount system as read/write
CHMOD syntax is for change mode(permissions) for a file or directory.
0664/0777/0755 are the permission that will be granted to said file or directory
(Remember what was said earlier )
Then followed by what files/directory permissions will be changed.
* means the whole folder to include all files in it will have the same permissions

Ok so far everything is working correctly , I think the FC is by the Gapps ( what investigare )
On the other hand wanted to know if you would attempt to create a rom CyanogenMod or alone you will continue with this project Stock Rom ?

Thank you for the confirmation. I'll do some more investigation.
I plan on keeping this ROM going. However, (no promises) but I just got my 64bit windows machine set up with Ubuntu on a VB. My linux machine, the NIC died on me .
There are a few things I want to do. (But I have two kids and a full time job so it will take some time.)

*Updated Busybox in the zip to ensure all commands will work as intended
*Plus a lot more stuff that will simplify things for us when updating ROM Cleaner.
-[B]ROM Cleaner[/B]
*New layout for ROMCleaner_user.txt (Please leave feedback)
*Added more apps to be removed
*Corrected odex files remover.
(if the app name contained "()" it resulted in syntax error
and stopped the script for removing odex files.)
*First screen will now show if needed partitions are mounted.
It will also let you know if your user.txt
can be found in your ROMCleaner folder.
*Added a "free space" calculator to show how many "MB" ROM Cleaner removed.
It will also show how many files and apps it removed.
*Added a checkbox to run "Log Collection" directly after ROM Cleaner
*Refined the status messages for ROM Cleaner, now it will print
"-ROM Cleaner was successful!" - All OK
"-There was nothing to remove by ROM Cleaner" - All OK,
(did you forget to flash a ROM?) ;)
"-ROM Cleaner Failed!" - This means the script didn't execute at all.
-[B]ROM Cleaner (CM10.x, AOSP, AOKP, GE)[/B]
*Added a new ROM Cleaner for CM10.x, AOSP, AOKP, GE ROMs
-[B]Additional Scripts[/B]
*Added checkboxes for settings restorer.
*Added a warning message if you use Setup Wizard remover before first boot.
*More info will be collected in "Log Collection"
-[B]Updated all launchers[/B]

[COLOR="royalblue"][B]ROM Cleaner v3.0 FINAL - 2013-03-09[/B][/COLOR]
-Common
*All scripts are heavily modified.
Now, ROM Cleaner will be able to use /external_sd, external_sdcard or /scard as source
External SDCARD will have first priority!
Thanks to everyone who helped us with testing especially [B]blueacidic[/B]
If no external sdcard can be found, internal sdcard will be used instead.
Thanks to [B]banccalif[/B] for reporting "Blueish" color hue and also for finding the optimal value.
*Slimmed zip size a bit.
Removed unused scripts and functions
Removed reboot/exit animation
-Backup Tool
*Corrected backup of accounts and home screen (Since Jelly Bean, user accounts was introduced)
*You will not be able to use Backup Tool if there is nothing to backup
*Added more logging code:
List all apps in /data/app before backup and after backup in backup dir
-ROM Cleaner
*Added a lot of new apps and changed description for some of them.
(It's highly recommended to remove your old ROMCleaner_user.txt and start all over)
Thanks to [B]stanley08[/B] for the amazing work on ROMCleaner.txt
*ROM Cleaner will now read from the ROMCleaner.log and based on the result,
print a status message in recovery. This method will be much more accurate.
And there's no more need to have the "test" line in the ROMCleaner_user.txt as before.
*If you have removed Setup Wizard and then perform a ROM update without wipe, the Setup Wizard will be removed by default.
*Changed the option in Launcher menu to avoid confusions.
*Added more logging code:
List all apps in /system and /data before and after ROM Cleaner
-Additional Scripts Menu
*If you try to run Settings Restorer before first boot you will get a warning
Same is with "Run all scripts in one GO!"
-Updated all launchers and renamed them so it will be easier for you to update the zip
Before: RC_Go.apk Now: com.gau.go.launcherex-1.apk

*All scripts are heavily modified. Now everything will be much faster then before

Guide & Info
Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!
We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...
So let's start!
Main Menu
In our main menu you will find:
* Backup Tool
* ROM Cleaner
--- ROM Cleaner
--- Skip Cleaning Step
* Additional Scripts
--- Settings Restorer
--- Setup Wizard Remover
--- Apps & Mods Installer
--- Run all scripts in one GO!
* Log Collection
* Advanced Power Menu
ROM Cleaner
Flashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!
-*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
-*- Flash ROM Cleaner and press "ROM Cleaner"
-*- Pick "ROM Cleaner" or "CM-AOSP" script, then press Next
-*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
-*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
-*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal.
Skip cleaning step
If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.
How To Edit Your Personal User.txt
Steps you need to do:
--- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
--- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt" or "CM-AOSP_user.txt" (from the download post)
--- Open the text file with Notepad++
--- Edit the file on your Android device: DroidEdit (Free)
In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.
To Remove a file with ROMCleaner
Code:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
Code:
[COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:
--- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
--- Copy the file onto your external sdcard or internal sdcard. The file must be located in "/internal or external sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder. ( "/../ROMCleaner/ROMCleaner_user.txt" )
---If you don't have a ROMCleaner folder yet or are unsure about what's internal or external sdcard. Please flash ROM Cleaner zip in recovery.
By doing so, needed folders will be created. Reboot your device from "Advanced Power Menu"
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!
Backup Tool
Will backup:
-*- Applications (Not app data)
-*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
-*- Bluetooth pairings
-*- TouchWiz launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
-*- Mail accounts (including Inbox)
-*- WiFi keys
Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe
How to apply:
--- Flash ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
--- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...
Additional Scripts
Important Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!
* Settings Restorer > This script will restore data already saved with Backup Tool
* Setup Wizard Remover > This script will remove the Setup Wizard
* Apps & Mods Installer > This is a batch install script. Apps, mods, files in /*sdcard/ROMCleaner/SecondBoot will be installed when you use this script
* Run All scripts in one GO! > This is a batch install for all scripts in this menu.
Log Collection
Use this option when we request logs from you.
This script will collect all needed logs + "*user.txt" and create "RC_LogCollector.tar" in ROMCleaner folder. Upload this file and send it to us on XDA or Google Talk chatroom (add as contact to Google Talk [COLOR=black][email protected][/COLOR]
Advanced Power Menu
In this menu you will find the following options:
* Reboot your device
* Exit to Recovery
* Enable Mobile Network
Screenshots

Easy?
Yes? Good because this is and should be easy

Enjoy this release guys, just as much as we have creating/developing this!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it would be very helpfull to post a video or a clear noob proof tutorial on how to use the Rom Cleaner as most users i think will have a hard time doing this properly especialy for the deletion of apps.
I`am not a noob i hope but i`am not 100% sure on how to use this Cleaner and i`am afraid you will be flooded with questions, issues and worse.

First of all Thank YOU for all the help!
And yes a video review or something would be crazy cool! Too bad I don't have a good camera... :/
I would really appreciate if someone could make a review!
As mentioned in the OP, right now we refer to the guide in aroma...
But I will soon post same guide in the 2nd post.
Steps you need to do:
* Windows users, download Notepad++
Then install it.
* Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt"
* Open the text file with Notepad++
In the text file you will find two columns
with app names and a description:

In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
#AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits.
Then press the "X" in the upper right corner of the
screen to save the changes.
Now copy the file onto your sdcard.
The file must be located in "/extSDcard/ROMCleaner" folder.
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read from that file!
Played around with the Cleaner script and gona try it now.

Sounds good
Is it enough to name the specific apk for deletion or do i also have to name the description of that apk
gee2012 said:

Click to collapse
Only apk name is needed, the ROM Cleaner program will stop reading from the file after ".apk"
For files you need to write the full path like this:
"/system/app/appname.apk"
This is also mentioned in the ROMCleaner_user.txt
Description is only for the users to know what the app does...
Please if you find more apps, let us know...
This initial release is just to get the development up n running

I tried it but it didn't read my user file in the ext sd folder so it just ran the default txt file. Now it could be my own mistake but I did use notepad++ to edit it and save it in the extsd / romcleaner folder as per instructions. But I'm using Touch CWM though, does that affect anything?

F A Q
--------------------------
What is an MD5 check-sum?
MD5 sum helps you identify any probable data loss issue which might have happened during the download process
and as a result of which you might be at a risk of flashing a incomplete/inaccurate download.
To mitigate this risk, simply check MD5 sum
(This can be easily checked with the help of ES file explorer/ Root explorer apps) and compare it with MD5 given on download site.
These 2 minutes can save 2 hours of reflashing for you.
What are the safe kernels that I have to be on, in order to flash this ROM?
CM9 / CM10 based kernels
any SpeedMod v4 and above, Franco v4 and above series of kernels. There are loads which you can check from your kernel repository thread
any GB kernel.
I am coming from ABC - XYZ rom.
Is it safe to flash this ROM over it?
Yes ONLY when your ABC-XYZ reads -
Official CM10 or AOKP builds
CM10 or AOKP variant builds
Any other AOSP based ROM
I want to brick my device and then blame HI for it.
What do I do?
The best way to brick your device and blame HI for it is to flash HI over these kernels -
any CF--Root ICS kernel
SpeedMod v3 and below, Franco v3 and below
old leaked kernels and re-packs
What is Full Wipe & what is Cache Wipe using CWM?
Full wipe = Wipe Data / Factory Reset
This wipes all your user data like user applications, account settings, logins etc along with the cache partitions.
However, data stored in your sd-card like pictures, movies etc remain intact.
Cache wipe = User Applications and data remains untouched.
Only the cache you have previously accumulated gets purged.
What are Gapps? Why do I need them?
Please buy a Nokia or a BlackBerry.
Best wishes,
Toxic
Which version of Gapps should I flash? And when?
You can also download from Goo.im or other JB threads that provide the same.
You may flash them after you have installed the ROM (assuming you have done so after a Full Wipe).
Yet, I would personally request that you first flash the ROM and re-boot to see if all's well.
Flashing Gapps + Kernel + other MODs beforehand might give issues on THIS rom.
Where is the Email App? And the Exchange App?
Anything that you can't find will be provided in a .zip file called [COLOR="Green]RemovedAPKs[/COLOR].
[IMG]http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/mf/tick_mark.png[/IMG]Download the zip and place in your device.
[IMG]http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/mf/tick_mark.png[/IMG]Using a suitable File Manager to extract the zip.
[IMG]http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/mf/tick_mark.png[/IMG]Copy the apks for applications which you want.
[IMG]http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/mf/tick_mark.png[/IMG]Paste them under[B] /system/app[/B] folder.
[IMG]http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/mf/tick_mark.png[/IMG]Change permissions to[B] rw-r--r--[/B] (simply set it same as any other app in the same folder)
[IMG]http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1002/linekb.png[/IMG]
[SIZE="3"]I can't find S-Note or S-Memo in this ROM. [/SIZE]
Neither can I.
Does this ROM have Project Butter implemented?
Not as of now. Until a low-cholesterol version comes out, it is unhealthy to have Butter. But yes, the latest open-source patches under testing have been included.
What is the default DPI in HI and how can I change it?
Default DPI in HI is 320. To modify this -
Open your File Browser that has root access.
Navigate to /system/build.prop and open it as a text file.
Scroll down to ro.sf.lcd_density and set it to any number of your choice. Recommended values are 240, 213, 160 etc.
Reboot.
In case there are errors or issues, no one is responsible but yourself. So unless you know what you are doing, please tread cautiously.
How do I choose themes on HI?
Download any compatible theme of your choice from the Play Store.
Go in System Settings --> Themes –-> Theme chooser.
Choose downloaded theme –-> Select Apply.
My Question is still unanswered. And I am a bit shy of asking on the threads, lest I should be stoned to death.
What do I do?
Read some motivational books that help you work on your self-confidence.
Come back to the thread and ask.
If it turns out that your question could be answered by simply using the search function - chances are you will still be stoned.
Motivational books are boring. I watched 300 instead.
Now I am all pumped-up to ask any question, no matter how pathetic.
Good. This gives us the opportunity to see how long you can withstand the stoning.
Your watching 300 should be of some help to you.

FAQ
Q: Is this based on coolexe's v15 ?
A: parsley, I had close contact with him about this, the plan was to release this as v15 but later on we decided to release it separately.
Q: can I update the YouTube app myself ?
A: NO! If you do that you will overwrite the modded version and you will lose HD playback and screen off playback.
Q: HELP I HAVE A PROBLEM
A:
dave said:
A common method for trouble shooting is to analyze logcat and dmesg outputs.
The procedure to get the outputs is described belows:
Go to app folder, run Terminal Emulator with the following commands:
Code:
su
dmesg >/mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt
logcat -d -v time >/mnt/sdcard/logcat.txt
Explanation: su = become superuser; dmesg command = get kernel log; logcat command = get android system log.
Attach the logs to your post if you wish to have others helping you understanding the outputs.
Here is a more basic how-to for the first time user.
How-to:
1> Go to 'MyApps' folder, find 'Terminal Emulator' icon and run it.
2> A blue screen appears, with tiny fonts. See Tip #1 to make the font larger.
3> Type su at the $ prompt. The prompt on the next line will change from $ to #
4> Type dmesg >/mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt at the # prompt on the next line. Note that there is a space between dmesg and the '>'
5> Type logcat -d -v time >/mnt/sdcard/logcat.txt at the next # prompt. Note that there are four spaces within the command.
6> Exit Terminal Emulator, and run a file explorer. There should be a logcat.txt and a dmesg.txt in the root of the sdcard.
7> Upload and attach the two files to a posting.
Several tips:
1> The default font is very small. Press the 'menu' button (located between the 'home' and the 'back' buttons on the right bezel) will bring up a menu screen. Select 'Preferences, then 'Font size' then '20 point'. Exit and run the app again.
2> The command prompt is similar to a Windows environment:
The ' at the command line means that we're running without superuser access.
The '#' at the command line means that we're running with superuser access.
3> Copy to output files to PC and use something like notepad+ (not the windows build-in notepad) to read.

Q: can I flash 1.x over v1?
A: yes all non major versions (for example: 2.1,2.2, 3.4) will be updates, and you will need to flash vX first (for example: v1,v2,v3)
Q: can I flash v2 right away?
YES! no need to flash everything all over again
Q: What is the difference between V4A FX and HiFi?
A: FX contains many effects, while XHiFi only has audio restore/detailing options. If you like many effects(reverb, bass, surround) then choose FX, if you like clear audio/vocal and you have a good headset, choose XHiFi. Or if you want to have the very best, choice both
To make it clear:
V4A FX version: Mainly renders many audio quality
V4A XHiFi version: Mainly restores lossy audio quality.
V4A FX and XHiFi combined (Refer coexists installation): More settings to play with, but quality will be much better!
Note: No matter you select FX or XHiFi in sound settings, they will run together at the same time.
Q: I want to disable my screenshot function when using Swipe to awake
A:
with a root file browser such as es file explorer go to:
/system/build.prop
change ro.htc.framework.screencapture = true to ro.htc.framework.screencapture = false
restart
Done !!! (thanks to ardanai)

Sure! I will release the tweaks later on, they're based on Knight47 mods
Does it matter if he is a zipmodder. Last I checked that's allowed on xda. 75% of ROMs are just base ROMs with a twist. Made with a kitchen and zip program. IMO this ROM can stay. Period. End of discussion.
thx for your works and i'm downloading now

Thanks for the link will check it out !
Regarding the supercharger mod, that wont be included. The launcher is already bullit proof and locked in the memory. So there shouldn't be any home screen / sense crashes. Though if someone does experiences this, report it and I will make it die hard!
Btw guys fyi I've also included a sense 4 skin (you can select it in the skin selection menu. I will upload some image examples later on.

Not really I started working on this Rom a few weeks ago then contacted coolexe and he was working on v15. First this Rom should be released as v15 but since I modded more then I planned, coolexe and I decided that releasing it separately is better.
So v15 uses some of my mods (apps update and the build.prop, GPS patch link I gave him to). And that's it.
Edit:
Added a FAQ

Easy anwser:
No
Complicated anwser:
By modding the APK files, changing the ICON's and repacking and resign them again it should be possible, if there is an easyer way, I don't know that but someone else might know it ?

Let me know if you have any issues.
Yes I do have plans for future releases. Stocked is meant to be an almost complete stock ROM. I plan on doing updates every so often to keep apps updated and optimize a few more things.
I plan on releasing a second edition called SuperStocked. It will have almost all Samsung files removed, init.d scripts, sqlite and zipalign binaries, replace system apps with AOSP or CM counterparts when/if possible, AOSP sound files, probably some other stuff.

I might have left my DPI settings in the build.prop before I dumped the system partition. Use a build.prop editor or edit /system/build.prop with a text editor.
Change property ro.sf.lcd_density from 180 to 213 (Default DPI). I'll fix that when I release the next update. My bad...
Update
So far so good. I like the DPI change actually. Gallery force closes. Photos works though so thats not a problem.
Thanks again.

Thanks for reporting. I'll make sure its fixed in the next release.

I might have left my DPI settings in the build.prop before I dumped the system partition. Use a build.prop editor or edit /system/build.prop with a text editor.
Change property ro.sf.lcd_density from 180 to 213 (Default DPI). I'll fix that when I release the next update. My bad...

Same for me. Had to towelroot, reboot, open SuperSu, reboot, open SuperSu update binaries, then reboot again.. All is well now though.

Thanks for confirming. Pretty sure I figured out why. I set /system/xbin/su permissions to 0755 instead of 06755. Doesn't make any sense why it's been working just fine for me, but hopefully this fixes the issue.

Let me know if it's fixed in the new version. Also, you shouldn't need to use towelroot. You can just flash the SuperSU zip from here in recovery.
Can you post some screenshots of superstocked?
---------- Post added at 03:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 PM ----------
Also, do I need to get the boot.img to flash this or do I just flash it over my stock rom after I make a backup?

Yeah, Ill post a few images in a little while. It still has a ways to go. I haven't gotten around to changing any theme elements yet, but I plan on changing some status bar icons at the very least.
You don't need any boot.img files. No reason to flash a new kernel. You should wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache before installing the ROM. Left overs on the data and cache partitions can cause problems. You can go ahead and dirty flash if you want and see if it works. It very well might.
Will probably be a new update in the next couple days if not sooner. I'm updating the base from T330NUXAC1ANCA to T330NUUEU1ANK1 .
EDIT: Apparently the firmware update to T330NUUEU1ANK1 modified a lot of partitions that makes it incompatible unless you're actually on that update. Since I think I have a working ROM for that firmware I may post it in the OP at some point.
Ok so the stocked is safe to be flashed wighout needing a boot.img?

Both are. They are both use the same stock base. When I listed DeSAMSUNGed in the OP for the SuperStock version all I meant was that I was removing as much samsung stuff as possible and/or replacing it with something else is possible.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
Steps
1. Refer to the bottom of post #3 UPGRADE FROM STOCK BOOTLODER
2. If you haven’t yet, unlock your TF201 by following these instructions.
3. Install the latest version of Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) 2.7+ or ClockWorkMod Recovery 6.0.5.0+ Note this ROM will NOT install with older versions of recovery!

A blue bar will go accross the screen on the tab and the command prompt will indicate it was successful in about 10 seconds
Then reboot the tablet either back to the bootloader or to android to complete
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader

ROM2SD/DATA2SD USERS PLEASE READ!
ROM2SD only works if you have ZOMBI-POP, ZOMBi-X, CROMBi-kk, CROMi-X or miniC flashed on internal with a THATv10+ kernel. Just choose ROM2SD in the installer of ZOMBi-POP to flash it to ROM2SD and the installer will do the rest.
- Install ZOMBi-POP and choose ROM2SD or DATA2SD install
The ROM2SD1.zip below is only needed if you need to switch your recovery to between normal and rom2sd mode. For Example you want to backup or restore a rom2sd installation. Flash once to go rom2sd and flash again to go back to normal. A reboot always puts you back to normal. Thanks to _that!

Once your see the flashing RCK icon, press [volume up] to select. If another icon is flashing use [volume down] to move between icons.
3. Using your recovery make a Nandroid Backup of your current setup
4. Select install and navigate to where you saved your ROM zip file.
5. Choose the ZOMBi-POP zip file and follow the on screen prompts to customize your installation.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
Using GParted to setup a micro SD for ROM2SD or DATA2SD!
First and foremost - DO NOT USE MINI TOOL!
Formatting a micro sd card for ROM2SD
Note for DATA2SD just do one partition in stead of 2
We will be using a GParted Live boot USB and a FAST good quality micro sd like a Sandisk or Samsung Class 10 - SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card with read speed of at least 20MB/S. If you have a cheap chinese eBay card don't bother - they are not good enough.
You will also need a USB Stick with at least 1GB size. Note this process formats the USB disk so don't keep any important files on it. It will also wipe your micro sd so make sure you are prepared.
1. Go to the link below and download the GParted Live CD/USB/HD/PXE Bootable Image and save it somewhere you remember
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php
2. Download Linux Live USB Creator and install it
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
3. Fire up LiLi USB Creator:
a. Choose your USB key - I,e, the drive letter for your USB (not sd card)
b. Choose your GParted iso image for the source
c. Choose the check box to Format Key in FAT32 and hide files
d. Click the lightning bolt to create
4. Now you have a bootable disk you need to boot from it. You may need to alter you BIOS Settings on your PC to boot from a USB Stick but mine did it without messing.
5. Insert your micro SD card into an SD Card adapter and insert into PC
6. Boot into GParted
7. Choose Gparted Live <Enter>
8. Don’t touch keymap <Enter>
9. Languge <Enter>
10. Start Gparted Automatically
11. Change device to your micro sd )it will default to you hard disk - hda– mine is /dev/sdc
12. Delete all existing partitions
For a 64GB card: (resize as needed but /system doesn't need to be bigger than 1GB)
13. Create new, always select primary: do this 3 times.
14. FAT 32 : Size 16GB – this will be /dev/sdc1 in gparted and will be your sdcard for storage in Android
15. EXT4 : Size 42GB – this will be /dev/sdc2 in gparted and will be your /data partition in Android
16. EXT4 : Size 1GB – this will be /dev/sdc3 in gparted and will be your /system partition in Android (not needed for data2sd)
Apply, wait until it finishes and then reboot. Remember to remove the usb stick
*Images stolen from elsewhere as I couldn’t get it to save mine
Now you are ready to install ROM2SD. Note if you want to use DATA2SD then only do 2 partitions 1x FAT32 and 1x larger EXT4
Then reinstall ZOMBi-POP but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option
Reserved
All,
The ROM is still in BETA and by flashing it you are helping the BETA Testing process
It may still have some bugs, spontaneously reboot, drain the battery faster or heat up a bit. The aim is to make it better and fix them.
If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).
You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.
If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.
How to get a logcat
How to get useful logs
Thank you!!

UPGRADE FROM STOCK BOOTLODER
This may help
Starting from a stock bootloader V 10.4.2.18
What you will need
Woking fastboot & adb / SDcard optional
TWRP for a 201 = twrp_tf201t.blob
TWRP for the 300 = twrp_tf300t.blob
HairyBean BL & TWRP: This is effectively turn your 201 into a 300 <---- which is a flashable zip inside the zip that you downloasd
All 3 of the above file are in a zip in the Download section @ the top of every page of the thread ...... THIS ZIP IS NOT FLASHABLE...Your must unzip it to get to the real files !!! The name of this zip is
upgrade_tf201_to_tf300t.zip
foo 201 ROM zip
A fully charged tablet
All the above files in the same directory as your fastboot.exe (if using windows) In your home folder on linux....
The process
Lets start with the TWRP recovery for the 201, let flash it with fastboot...
Power your tablet off and with the [ VOL DOWN & POWER ] buttons boot the tablet into the bootloader
Once there [ VOL DOWN ] untill the green box is on the USB ICON then [ VOL UP ] to select fastboot
Let make sure your PC can see your tablet with this command.
Code:
fastboot devices:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp_tf201t.blob
Then
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 reboot-bootloader
[ VOL UP ] ON RCK to enter recovery
Once in TWRP check to see if adb is working...
Code:
adb devices
Ok now that we know that is working let go ahead and push the HairyBean BL onto the tablet
Code:
adb push HairyBean_Bootloader_TWRP2.5.zip /sdcard
Now under the install tab in TWRP fine the folder and flash it....
reboot once it has fishined..If ask to install SuperUser say NO..........
LET THE BLUE BAR FILL !!!!!!!!! Once it has finished it will reboot into Hairybean TWRP....
Once booted into recovery, run this command to boot into fastboot
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
You will see that the USB icon is missing now, this is good... If you still see the USB icon DON'T go to the next step
Now lets flash TWRP recovery
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp.blob
Once that has finished let reboot into bootloader
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 reboot-bootloader
Now enter recovery....
Make sure its verison 2.7.1.0
Go to Wipe////Format Data////Type yes
This can take up to 90 mins to format
DO NOT INTERRUPT THE FORMAT !!!!!!!
Now lets push foo.zip onto your tab
Code:
adb push foo.zip /sdcard
Find it under the install tab and flash it..
REBOOT into android, first boot can take up to 15 minutes

Could someone please post step by step tutorial how to install this rom?
I have a cm11 unofficial rom/ android cardhu-user bootloader 1.00e released by ww_epad- 10.4.2.15-20120917 A03
and cwm rck v6.0.5.0
when i install this rom it just boots up to screen with penguins and after a while reboots
Sneaky bugger
Thank you very much team!!!!!
I would very much like to test out your rom, but there seems to be a problem with the links for the twrp and cwm recoveries provided by you. Clicking them leads me nowhere. I seem not to be able to find the proper twrp recovery 2.8 for our device. Could you please repost the links? Thank you very much
I am running Lollipop with my beloved Prime....:victory:
Have been lurking this fora and have been running Omni 4.4.4 for a while.
Took the step to this beauty....
- The default Omni kernel is broken with wifi
-Flashed with the Grimlock option but it messes up partition??? Low internal space.
- Wiped a factory reset and it works.....
Playing around but no power left, must charge....

if you look at the first few lines from the OP, you will see that you are apparently on the wrong bootloader. you need the Hairybean JB 4.2.1 bootloader. you can find that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407248 you also need to upgrade/update your recovery. once you do those things, then you can flash this. (i'm surprised you haven't softbricked...)

Hi, Josh don´t know, what I did (what went) wrong but I´ve installed the Zombi-pop about week ago, bud I had some issues with some apps stability and reboots, and needed tablet for daily use so I ve restored nandroid of 4.4.
This weekend I do have some mor time so I´ve did a clean install of Zombi-pop and got a message about low memory space. Don´t know why - installed Zombi pop twice before without hiccups - first with your+ _that´s overclocked kernel , second time with your + sbdags´es kernel - both ok. This time with hardslog´s 5.0 linaro kernel I got the low memory message... any clue???? THX 4 answer. Nandroid backup of 4.4 . is OK again... Maybe too much gapps installed - I knoow KatKiss 5.0 had that problem????

You should go settings/storage and click clean cache memory then reboot your prime
Same thing happens when clean dalvik cache and cache from twrp on katkiss 5.0
Could somebody please tell me where I can find Twrp 2.8? When checking their website I can only find 2.6 for our device....
