Been using validus for a while, always come back to this after trying other roms

So far working really good!!! Thanks!!!

Wow...this is hands down, the best asop experience I've had on my g3 thus far. This is my new record for SOT on aosp ....My stock record still beats it by 35min, but regardless, whatever CM did to this kernel WORKED....Also huge sound improvements on this build... speaker is finally loud.
I don't recommend flashing any other kernel on this new build, the stock CM kernel is performing great...
Im running it as follows...
Max cpu - 2.4 (max)
Min cpu - 300000 (min)
Gov- conservative
I/O sheduler - row
Read Ahead - 2048 (both sd)
Other than that i keep screen brightness around 50% , All app notifications off, and greenify everything that can be greenified...
Love it.

I absolutely love the battery life and the functionality of the ROM.
The only concern i am noticing is - double tap to wake up stops working if its unplugged from the charger and has not been used for around an hour or so. I have to wake up the device with the power button and then it starts working again.
I am not using any app killers or memory management apps or any advanced settings.

That hasn't happened to me on this build yet, but a quick reboot fixed it on past builds for me...

Awesome! I gave the unofficial one from the 23rd another flash and the battery life improved significantly! Must have had a problem with the install the first time.
I'll install the official build today and see how it goes. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this.
edit: Looks good so far.

Will give that a shot... Reverted to stock for office testing purposes as i was running late for work.
Also, wanted to know if there is a way to add the volume sliders in the notification panel like the stock OS has... Just helps me prevent using any button whatsoever.
Thanks

No not the slider in notification window...but we do have the system profiles option where you can set different profiles for different environment s....like make a all muted profile for work if you want or whatever...Then you can add the quick settings tile or access them from the power menu if you add that option to power menu...

Yeah thats what i was thinking of doing... Was having issues with using the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth triggers but it probably required a reboot to fix. Will try it out tonight and see how it works.

Is IR Blaster working for the remote control features?
Sent from my LG-D852 using XDA Free mobile app

Juste found a trouble I think .. When watching a vidéo in streaming from a Random website the back button dont work ..

Quick question..
What software do you guys use to change to over/underclock the CPU?
I tried antutu CPU and I'm not sure if it's applying the settings properly. The min frequency keeps jumping up to around 1.5 and the GOV to the default one instead of conservative everytime I re-open the app.

Clean flashed the Rom again and getting the same issue of double tap to wake up stops working if the phone is unused or placed in a pocket for 30-60 mins

The new CM navbar options were just added to this build, there's bound to be bugs....that will most likely be fixed next build...Personally, i don't use the navbar...I replace it with LMT and use that as it has no issues, is fully customizable and works great....

Looks great. Can't wait to try this out.
I wonder how this compares to CarbonROM?
So far so great. This is actually very similar to carbon with a few minor changes here and there. One thing I will say is that I was able to get v4a working with this ROM and never could with carbon
---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 PM ----------
This one is kinda memory heavy though. Even with that, great job kkozma.
Talk about options.
Anyone found the setting to swap the volume keys in horizontal mode?
One thing I noticed is that Chrome is an absolute PIG in this ROM, so if you're trying to use that, don't. lol
Battery life seems to be atrocious just like every other 4.3 ROM out there as well. I will say though that the screen off battery life does seem to be much better than Paranoid.

Yes, the options in this are ludicrous. One option I'm looking for and haven't found yet is how to turn off the STUPID quick settings panel. I *HATE* that thing on a phone based ROM. Especially because this ROM marks the triumphant return of the notification power widget.
Whenever I turn data off the LTE or 3g icon still shows, when though when I go into settings data is disabled.

I have found a few issues (still a great ROM!).
When you turn Dark Revolt on there is still a lot of black on white background.
Also the reboot menu doesn't have the bootloader option.
And, as stated earlier, it is pretty RAM heavy. First boot I only had 27 mb free and no active apps. Second boot only 200mb.
Never tried the stock kernel for this ROM, flashed Funky 4.0.1 right off the bat.

:good: So far, it is working nicely on my Rez. I have tested several of the 4.3 ROMs and some just won't work for me because of data and MMS issues. This one seems solid on those items. Think I'll settle in for a while and see how it does for a few days. Thanks for the hard work getting this to us!
Hi. Just installed this ROM after running the latest RUU and switching to TWRP. It is noticeably slower than Beanstalk rom that I ran beforehand. Someone mentioned that it's a memory hog which is also true. Just wondering why.
Thanks.

I've never run beanstalk before, but I can say that this ROM is the fastest I've run on my phone and also the smoothest. As for why it's got such a large memory footprint? I could only guess, but my thinking is it has something to do with the smoothness I've observed and keeping more things in memory for faster access than other ROMs.
Also seems that I can't toggle my swagger... :darn:

Kkozma, thanks for your response. Do you think that wiping internal memory might? I didn't do it because I am able to access both internal and external memories just fine. However, I would wipe it if required.

20% in an hour, did it improve during the rest of the day? and what did you do with the phone in that hour? as 20% sounds like a lot, it would mean you need to recharge every 5 hours which seems like a bit much if you ask me
Really not bad. I was coming from omnirom 4.4.2, which is very similar to this one.
The only issues I faced:
- google keyboard did not appear while setting up google account (I had to install the apk of another keyboard that was in my sdcard, remove the apk in /system/app and reinstall it and now it works like a charm);
- for some reason I had a wakelock for android system, which was eating my phone's battery like a 10% an hour, but killing it and rebooting did the trick and now the rom is quite battery friendly.
I removed the apps in chinese (or Japanese? ) well, the ones in kanji, because I was unable to understand their goal, and turned the launcher to work in landscape too (via xposed module). I also changed the dpi of the dialer app for it to fit better while in multiwindow and I am very satisfied wuth this rom, which is very smooth.
Does Art work btw? I did not try myself because the xposed framework does not support it atm.
Good work
Ps: just to inform the other users, I see no halo atm, though I don't like it that much afterwards.
Art works

I don't know how significant it can be but, with a quite intense use, i.e. 3g plus wifi and GPS always on, gmail, exchange, cloudmagic and another client (pocketpec) 30 mails with attachments read or more and let's say 20 sent by me, phone calls lasting one hour or even longer, my battery in 14 hours and 35 minutes has so far gone from 100% to 19%.
With the same usage a 4.1.2 stock rom could save something like a 10% more, according to my own experience, so battery life is not that bad.
Regarding 4.3 stock roms, I have always used the deknoxed ones with the devil kernel and battery life is by far worse, unless you tweak the settings a bit.
Adding the Agni kernel significantly increases the battery life . even more so when you go in the kernel settings and adjust the governor . 16 hours of use on the latest nightly and I went down 15 %

Certainly, it's own gapps will fix that problem.
The last time i tried this ROM, I couldn't get the full screen (immersive) mode though. Also, I am not sure if headset (with mic) issues with 3rd party apps like Viber or Skype has been fixed. This similar issue is also present with CM.
Hey developers can you add transparency for notification drawer and quick settings tiles too? Also power widgets please port features from cm remix Rom they have a ton of features and still rock solid

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP but now OMNI-ROM, brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....

A quick heads up:
.......
3. Camera works fine, video does not yet record
4. This is very much a work in progress
5. None of this would be possible for our aging device without the hard work of one Mr. @ktempleton

It's great to keep seeing new development on this device! Thanks for your great work Patch! I'm looking forward to flashing this.

The video patch didn't work for me. I think the patches are for cm based and this is mostly omni based at this point. Reboots, I haven't had any. But it's not my daily phone either....let me know what you guys find, thanks.

after 2 days of use :
:crying: 1- video patch not working (no video recording)
2- no reboot until now
3- phone buttons always on (lighted).
Yeah, the "torch" application isn't there, and the lock screen shortcuts for it don't work. You can install a 3rd.party and works fine though.
ROM isn't suffering from reboots on my phone. It is running freaking awesome . I'd suggest flashing rom and let it settle for ~15 min, then reboot and flash gapps if you run into any problems at first.

Keep in mind you can install Xposed Gravitybox (KK), there's an option in there to disable cap lights completely. Of course I haven't tried the latest build which should fix this issue without xposed... Still no reboots for me, running like a top

VoIP
A bit of a random question but i've read that VoIP has not worked or not worked right since mid dec on all KK rom's. That being said i was wondering if it is known as a CM problem or a actual KK problem. Reason i'm asking is cause of this being mostly Omni based would that possibly make a difference.
I will try to download and flash tonight and post back on VoIP testing, and anything else i can try to dig up between now and then.
Thank you patch for all the work you put into building Roms for the Note !

thank's.
Voip?? Try Google Voice!
Well if this ROM downloads Google voice and voice+ it will work just, activate Google voice and voice+ and you can call and receive and send texts with your google voice number if it doesn't have voice+, just download voice, GV integration and busy box apps and you will have voip with your google voice number! Works for me with any phone or rom Ive tried it on!!

hey patch so I just flashed n installed the newest update and the 4 keys are lighted and won't turn off (waaaaa!!!!) I installed fresh even did superwipe xt before I flashed rom....I installed ud_quincyatt_20140225-2110.zip unless that's the wrong one lol but I click on latest and that's what it gives me....is there a way to turn them off from Dirty Tweaks Menu? one thing is i'm loving the Dirty Tweaks Menu it's got a lot of things gravity box has....if it doesn't have that option then i'll just install GB and turn them off....thanks for the rom patch....a new rom to test and report!!
It may be aging but......
I concur Thank-you for all the excellent work but aging or not this phone still beats 99% of any new or old smartphone on the market today! So it is well worth maintaining!

Well that's really weird but as we all know.....every phone reacts a little differently to different roms.....and no, no option in dirty tweaks......I guess you'll have to use gravity box. You could also re download and wipe really clean and re flash....hope it pans out though!

Don't thank me, thank the awesome DEV's for Liquid! I just put the thread together for 'em. Any questions, just let me know. The build seems pretty darn stable if you ask me, so if you notice anything, don't hesitate to let me know. Definitely my favorite ROM.

how install??just flash?need wipe first or later?need full wipe?sorry for the questions.
Well this is nothing short of awesome!! I love liquid, been waiting for kk to stable out on my g2, so this is great to have here. One small issue I encountered is that the when viewing an apps info, the checkbox is there for privacy guard, but there is nothing written next to it. Checking is does nothing. You actually have to go into the main settings/privacy guard/scroll to the app you want it enabled for. I much prefer long pressing the app/tapping app info/and just enabling it there. Might also be a good idea to remove the torch and all its trigger actions - may cause issues.
Build is very smooth, I highly recommend using Slim gapps in order to get full TRDS support (well, with what slim has enabled thus far). And for US users that don't have 5g wifi showing up, just change your wifi location in wifi settings from Europe to US and 5g will magically appear...

From my understanding, which can be rather skewed at times, it shouldn't be TOO hard to implement. Assuming that there aren't any conflicts. But that's my comprehension of it.

I just upgraded to this ROM (V3.0) from LRS, which was 4.2.2 based and the difference is phenomenal!
The speed of the ROM is definitely noticeable.
The audio has been fixed, so no more muffled bass heavy audio.
The camera appears to focus 5 percent better, or may just be a placebo effect but I like it.
And appearance wise, the additional options are great! I don't even need to install gravity box or anything.

There is only one very very minor issue.
When listening to music or playing games, the audio occasionally does this weird lag/skipping noise for fourth of a second. This happens every ten or so minutes.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about.. I believe that its an AOSP issue, or something. Seems to happen when the CPU is put under stress, and it happens on all of my devices that I've flashed a custom ROM on. CM should fix it eventually, and then it'll probably get merged into this ROM.

Flashed a while ago as soon as it popped up on AFH. Really liking it so far, pure AOSP with few usueful PA features like peek, immersive mode, etc. Doesn't feel bloated with customizations like other roms. Can't comment on battery life yet obviously. No crashes or bootloops in this short time, and performance is reallyyyy nice. Awesome job, really appreciate this rom.

So far so good. I've had it running for less than a day. Thanks for the hard work! I'll post if any issues arise.
A few questions:
1. Is there a way to set the power consumption?
2. Is there a way to have the screen lock not require the user to press the check mark after entering the pin at the block screen?
3. This a stupid question, I can't figure out how to add additional home screens.
Thanks!

I don't know about one and two, but power would be in the power settings, and quick unlock would be in security. You can hold down on the home to add more.
There might be something wrong with my install. I tried all your suggestions before I posted and I don't have any of those options, Including holding the home Upton for extra screens. Not sure if it's just a me thing. Thanks for responding to my post BTW.

PA probably doesn't have those features then, but the home should work. What home are you using?
First thing I notice is that the Theme Engine is not working. When I click on Themes, I get
Not a deal breaker, but not great.
A lot fewer tweaks than others, but that will be OK if it's more stable.
Would like to be able to modify the Navbar. Would like to be able to set system profiles. Nothing critical, mostly looks, but some efficiency as well.
It would also be nice to have the ability to change wallpaper without a reboot.

P.A is typically light when it comes to features, they want everything to feel like a seamless nexus experience and any features they do add its presented in a way where it feels like how Google will offer it if they ever happen to import such a thing.

I'm not saying it's broken, so hopefully I won't be ignored, but- after setting this up and getting it to look a lot like I wanted, I got a message that my phone wasn't rooted. Strange. So I flashed the SuperSU zip provided. I noted the message that it could take a while and not to interrupt the process. It's been about 45 minutes. That seems a bit long for this type of thing. I obviously haven't been able to flash the Bump script. My phone was rooted before this... any suggestions before I pull the battery? All I have now is a blank screen and blue/red flashing LED.
I was impatient. I pulled the battery. I got into recovery and flashed the Bump script. After a few more seconds of blank screen and flashing LED, I got the LG boot screen. Strange, no Android boot animation. Then right back to my normal screen like nothing happened. Everything seems to be working correctly. Yay me.

I'm glad you got it working. The bump script is essential. Systemless root modifies the boot.img and unbumps your device. It will not boot without the script.
