How to Root Venue 8 3830 4.4.2 on Windows 7 - Dell Venue

For those who don't know how to root their KitKat Venues on Windows 7 but want to, here's how I did it.
1. Make sure USB Debugging is On
2. Download the Rootkit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2681783
3. Extract the Rootkit in wherever you downloaded it.
4. Open run-me.bat from the folder
5. Install and Update ADB Drivers
6. Once it's all good, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096/post57543871#post57543871 and download IntelAndroid-FBRL-01-17-2015.7z (Extract it as well) and UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip
7. Place SuperUser into your device or SD Card
8. Run Launcher.bat from IntelAndroid-FBRL-01-17-2015.7z folder.
9. Select T1 and let it reboot to recovery.
10. Install Superuser from wherever you downloaded the file to.
11. Let it do it's thing and reboot.
12. Download Root Checker and make sure it's working
13. Profit!
This method should work with other Venue and Intel devices

Sorry if this is covered in other threads, but are there any decent updated rooms for this device? The more recent the version of Android the better.

[ROOT] Huawei mediapad 7 lite --alternative

this is alternative way to root the Huawei Mediapad 7 lite
credits vampirefo for his id command root check
my model was/is S7-931w which has wifi
1) use google playstore to install a terminal apk
2) download an apk to sdcard called Root Master (english Version).apk
http://www.nextwap.net/mobile/vE4C-rxxce/root_master__english_version_.html
3) allow your device to install unknown sources
4) install apk and open it
5) you will see 3 options, system info....root....and manager......choose the middle one
it will take some time with some animation
the first time it ran.....I checked inside the terminal to see if id command worked correctly.....it did not
6) reboot the phone and try again
If successful, in a terminal you are looking for the su command to change the prompt from $ to #
AND then run the id command and you must see only 2 responses...... user id and group id
---if you get a third response you have to redo it and reboot it

Installation:--
The Google Applications packages should be installed via recovery. Exact steps vary, but the general process is the same as that used to install
1. Copy the gapps .zip-file to /sdcard/
Using adb: adb push filename.zip /sdcard/
2.Reboot your device to recovery via any one of these methods: 1) using the power-on key combo for your device; 2) running adb reboot recovery from your computer; 3) or via the Advanced Reboot power menu (enabled in Developer Options).
3.Choose "install zip" or "Apply update" from within recovery, and navigate to the zip-file loaded earlier.
4. Reboot from recovery back to Android.
Best of luck :good::good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

[Xposed] J320A/AZ/AG nougat installer

Apparently root and a permissive kernel are not required to run Xposed framework. It's only needed to install the framework, and you know how I keep saying how nice it is that our engroot kernel still boots a rooted shell... so anyways here it is
Installer
Uninstaller
Step 1: unzip the file then fire up Odin and in the AP slot choose the included eng_root.tar

}
Step 2: your phone will be stuck on the logo, but open a command prompt and navigate to the bin directory you unzipped.
Type:
Code:
adb devices
Make sure adb sees your device before proceeding, it'll prolly take a minute or two before it does
Step 3: double click the Xposed.bat file you unzipped and let it do it's thing
First boot will take a few minutes.
Without root you may run into issues with some modules, nothing I can do about that but report them here so everyone knows.
Haven't tried it yet, but is there a way to uninstall?
Forgot to post that xD

This works perfectly! Thanks so much.

Fix bootloader message

For some reason, few cases present the generic and ugly message of bootloader unlocked, and not the original of Xiaomi and here I have the solution.
If you have a uggly bootloader message, like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And you want the common image with a padlock, similar to this (but not the same):
You only need follow the next simple instructions, you have 2 ways to do.
First way - ADB Recommended
1. Install or download adb from here.
2. Conect your phone on fastboot mode.
3. Download and extract the attachment file on the same folder than adb.
4. In the same folder of adb, open a terminal (cmd, powershell) and type: "fastboot flash logo logo.img" (without quotation marks obviously).
Second way - TWRP CN
1. You need the TWRP CN (not multilanguage).
2. Download the attachment file, unzip and put on your internal memory.
3. Reboot on TWRP.
4 Choose "IMG" on the install section.
5. Select the logo.img and fhash.
I hope it will be you useful.
