M Source: https://github.com/AnguisCaptor/PwnKernel_Shamu_M
Tested with the following roms:
Android 5.1 AOSP Euphoria
Android 5.1 CM Resurrection Remix
Android 6.0 (M) - JDX 3.0.4
Android 6.0 (M) - The Pure Nexus Project
How to use it
Plugin the usb dongle
So you got Linux Deploy working and you SSH'd into your distro ? good job!
You might want to install now the goodies and getting some good fun
There are loads of tutorials on google for Linux Deploy out there...
Want to verify it's working ? simply do "lsusb" or do "iwconfig" and see if wlan1 is available, if you see wlan1 on your phone that means it's working
Code:
sudo -i
apt-get install aircrack-ng
apt-get install mdk3
apt-get install reaver
apt-get install wifite
apt-get install fruitywifi
Now you're able to use your favorite tools
Why would you want to install this kernel ?
This kernel is meant for people who wants to have their usb wifi dongle working in android
Not only that you would be able to put the wifi dongle in monitor mode and packet sniff all the packets in the air
You could kick people off the network/Internet even if you're not connected to the Access Point
You could crack and attack their Access Point by attacking WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPS etc...
If you always wanted +2 wifi's at the same time you're able to
No more need for a laptop, just a phone to be more mobile
Tested it in Kali Linux and it works fine and fast
And why more ? It just looks super awesome THAT'S WHY
Big Thanks to for making this possible:

Nice!! Shamu development is going crazy!!!

This is Amazing!
Props to the devs! I'll give it a try this weekend with my ALFA AWUS036H and check if it works.
Thanks for this!

Does the internal Wi-Fi interface support monitor mode?

Thanks for all the awesome comments so far

Where are your kexec patches?

Thanks for making it. I have installed your kernel. Any guide on how to use the said features on Nexus 6 ?

Thanks for the outstanding work. I've rooted and flashed your kernel, but I'm not sure how to test my AWUS036H. How did you get Kali on your N6? Any help is appreciated!

Just a heads up I just tried this kernel and could not get lte I'm on att

I was running Code_Blu and it was running great, flashed this and it made my phone as slow as a phone from 2011. Flashed back to Code_Blu with cache wipe, still slow. Did factory reset and flashed again with Code_Blu and still crawling slow. Flashed Lean Kernel and all is well. This was all with Pure Shamu 3.98, not sure what's going on, especially after factory wipe and Code_Blu was snappy before.

Sorry to hear this, I'm not sure what's going on with this as I'm running my kernel for a couple of days now and it's running just fine (no slow downs etc), I just did a antutu bench and the score was 52966 (higher then a Galaxy Note 4, one plus one etc)
Not much I can do about this obviously by just hearing this story

DragonHunt3r, did you actually test the functionality on the N6? I've searched around lots, and it appears that Kali is only most recently available for the N5 and N7 - nothing for the N6. Thanks!

How is this for normal/daily use??? As a Network Security student this is amazing! I just dont want to cripple my phone experience when not "playing around."

Out of the devices supported, could you recommend one? I'm about to buy a dongle...

Do you see adding USB OTG support , ExFat, and NTFS to the kernel?

You could try changing your governer from Conservative to Blu_active. The default governer is Conservative which was damn slow for me.

The ALFA Network AWUS036NEH is a low powered device and does a good job, it's having a better signal then the other dongles I support
When using the TP-LINK TL-WN722N I noticed there the power usage was alot more, as I kept plugging in more dongles on a usb hub the TP-LINK TL-WN722N usually didn't even light on when too many dongles were plugged in

I either have to wait and see if eng.stk will add it, it probably works already, not tested yet as I mostly use Total Commander for this stuff

On another note, this kernel makes me want to buy a wifi dongle just to play around

+This is so easy to add support for wlan adapters (even using instruction in other threads), so I don't think this thread do anything...
Also if kernel have modules (dunno if franco have I'm not using it) there is chance they should be precompiled with it I think? (magic number etc.. If version changed) I had to compile modules when was making -dirty for pollux_windy with ath9k_htc support (then flash via nice custom zip)...
Aand how about firmware files eh? Or maybe I miss something?

Hi,
to use aircrack or other tools with this kernel, do we need to chroot into kali/backtrack or can we just, if we have working android-arm-binarys, use them directly through Terminal Emulator?

hey, guess what, reported this thread for NOT being an original work. it is based on franco kernel, and no matter what is included, its still based on it, so not an original work.
obviously you already knew that it is not an original kernel, or you wouldnt be curious when i would report it. nor would i have reported it if it wasnt for your comment. there is no need for such comments publicly.

This kernel is made for the Moto X Style/Pure (xt1575). I have not tested it on the xt1572. If you would like to test it be my guest. This kernel was based off the wok done by AICP and Hashbang173 . I wanted to bring the custom kernel features into a cm based environment. The features brought over were originally done for a stock kernel setting by dirtyhank and his Frankenclark kernel. I have optimized the settings to work with BlissRom. My goal is to provide better battery life surrounded by a stable experience. I will add more features as I go... I planned to just make this the default kernel on BlissRom, but with the overall lack of development for this device and the overwhelming support I got for it. I have decided to offer it as a standalone download as well.
WARINING
I have tested this kernel....With that said. I DO NOT hold any responsibility for what you may do to your device with this product. Also make a proper backup before flashing.
Features of the Kernel
Kernel Version 3.10.95
color control (Kcal)
Underclocking (302mhz)
KSM & UKSM
Voltage readings
Fsync option (on/off)
Touchboost option (on/off)
MultiRom Support
DoubleTap2Wake/Sweet2Wake
Added Govs - ElementalX, Intelliactive, Lionheart, BioShock, BluActive, Wheatley, InteractiveX & Interactive
Bricked Hotplug
Added I/O schedulers (SIO, FIOPS & Zen)
And much more...
To Install
Be on a custom rom (also test with cm base so far)
Download ZIP
Reboot to Recovery (I have only tested on TWRP 3.0)
Flash
Wipe Cache
Reboot

Great to see a new custom kernel! Is this only for cm based ROMs (maybe you could change the thread title)?
You accidentally posted this Kernel three times in the forum.
But besides that, this looks awesome!

I am having some issues with the kernel. The first one is all of the cores are on all of the time. The second problem is the little cluster is scaling like crazy. I use very slow scaling settings that using frankenclark would only show one core and sometimes two at 384 with everything closed and now all little cores constantly scale up to 1440 with everything closed. Other wise, I love seeing some a cm kernel. O, I had the issue on acip and RR

Did you turn on hotplug? I played around with this for a while last night, and I think MSM MPdecision was off by default if kernel adiutor was picking up the setting right. It didn't start unplugging cores until it was enabled.
It did seem like cores online and core frequency was a little more up and down and in general higher than stock frankenclark even with the same profile for the tunables. I rarely had less than three little cores on and usually around 50% when I would have expected two on at min frequency. That was on bliss ROM.

Well yeah, it won't work if they are not turned on. lol. I tried them both, neither would wake the phone. I am on stock kernel right now, I'm going to flash it again tonight on Temasek and see if it still isn't working.

I didn't have it on, but it did help the cores go offline. I'm getting down to only one or two cores while idling with the screen on, but i am also only running at 1080p. And just like you, the cores are scaling like crazy
The link in the OP is not working but you can find the kernel here:
http://downloads.blissroms.com/Bliss/Official/clark/kernel
Make sure you guys on TWRP are backing up your boot before flashing the kernel.
Because if for some reason you have trouble with this kernel, then restoring your boot will restore your original kernel and get you back up and running again.
I flashed the kernel on an AOSP-CAF based ROM knowing full well it probably wouldn't work because it's not FOR that ROM. And sure enough, it didn't.
So restoring my boot took three seconds and I was back up & running again.
Ya'll probably won't have any issues on any CM based ROM's but back up your boot just in case!

I mentioned it on one of the three kernal forums already but this time it's more of a heads up
If you are on Resurrection Remix do not flash this kernal. Currently there is a bug where you lose accesses to your sd card. I am unable to determine if it's something that the Resurrection remix rom maker did to the kernal to make his rom specific to to that kernal or if it's just a kernal bug as with the stock (xclark kernal) you can access your sdcard fine. This isn't only this kernal however. The AICP kernal does the exact same thing on Resurrection Remix

Didn't see this until after I tried to install it on RR Whats funny is it wouldnt even boot for me, it just hung on the RR red and black screen after I flashed it. I was like, wait this should 100% work with RR. So weird. Still looking for another kernel to use, specifically one that has screen color profile Support, but haven't found any.

Today I decided to take upon it myself to download CM's source and add color profile into kernel since I love the ROM but can't stand the washed out look.
I might share it later, although I know nothing about configuring kernels, except how to cherry-pick stuff for it.

Hey guys! This kernel is only for SM-J500H as of now. I will add support for other variants soon. Now lets talk business
Features:
Built using Sabermod 4.8 toolchain
Latest J500HXXU2BPK4 sources
Patched with SuperSu 2.79 (Systemless)
Patched Linux version to 3.10.104
KCAL advanced colour control
SELinux permissive
MSM Hotplug enabled
Mild CPU Undervolt (Beta experimental values)
Compiled with -03 flag for better optimization and speed
Fixed memory leak in alloc_pid
Free memory optimizations
Tuned XZ for ARM processors
NEON and VFP float enabled
Init.d support
Busyboxed
Insecure boot
Patched to boot Note 7 roms
ADB enabled by default
To do list:
New CPU governors
New I/O Schedulers
Overclock and Underclock (I Dont find this neccessary because the phone works properly without overclock as well)
Add support for other models
Please note that i am a beginner in kernel development. I learn and keep learning so that i can bring out something different. Lastly if you got some features on your mind then my ears are always open. However i can't assure you that it will be added or implemented but i can give it my best shot within my capabilities. Further development on this project is dependent on the response i get from you guys. Lack of response will bring an end to this project. Enjoy the kernel guys.
Instructions:1. Take a backup of your boot partition using TWRP first.
2. Navigate to the zip and flash.
3. Reboot and enjoy.
Downloads:Don't forget to hit the thanks button. It will hardly take a second:good:

Good job!
Good!
i'm happy to see this thread,
You just opend o door for new oportunities!
you have all my consideration for this.
if i understand well, this is for MM botloader?
can you share the wlan.ko(pronto_wlan.ko) from J500HXXU2BPK4 'till you make it to work with all versions?
Of course if you are agree with your kernel to be using in other rom ports!
Thanks!
EDIT:
Thanks...again, i didnt checked the zip archive.
i just see the wlan.ko in it!
@KingRaheel
Congratulations!
I see that you've chose Sabermod, a nice choice. Did you try 4.9+ toolchain (including 4.9) ? I'm curious if it works on stock kernel.
@KingRaheel
I don't have the knowledge, but after looking at other kernel, it seems that the change you've made for Linux kernel 3.10.104 is not enough! Other files must be changed too, not only that. I think you have to cherry pick or merge the Linux kernel changes.
Take a look at the changelog of 3.10.104: https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/ChangeLog-3.10.104 .
Also, I'm not sure, but I think the kernel version must be updated one by one, with it's changes/patches. E.g.: from 3.10.49 to 3.10.50, then 3.10.51 (I don't know if .50 and .51 versions exists, I just gave an example).
Waiting for J500F ???

Thank you sir. Yea its for MM bootloader. . As of now i am trying to figure out how to make the sources of j500h to work on other models. I know that it can be done using different defconfig files and i had got the zImage as well but i think there is something more to it. Hopefully once its out for other models, people can use it to port or build some rom. If they do then my work paid off

Thank you buddy. Yeah i had tried with uber 4.9 and it worked but the kernel was kind of creepy lol. Random reboots for some reason. I solved that today and i think ubertc is way better than sabermod in terms of stability and most importantly battery life.

Yes you are right. The whole thing has be changed. Thats why i simply changed the version as its initial. Lol. I am getting many compilation errors with the patches made for linux 3.10.104 as i think its due to some config mistakes . So i am doing a lot of research on it and getting the errors solved one by one.
1 overclock is necessary for gaming..The games (World of Gunship) i play lag but PBS by zonik was awesome the games didnt lag..I think at least overclock the GPU to 700 MHZ
2 why dont you just add overclock? i mean if people doesnt want overclocking they can just use app to use normal frequency. can someone tell me this if you put 2.1GHz frequency and i still use 1198MHz frequency will there be any difference if you dont put overclocking and use 1198MHz?
i will explain further if you dont understand 2nd question....
I use J500F currently using Resurrection remix

No need of explaining further. Not all people think the same way as you have said. Overclock to high frequencies will cause high temperature shoot up which will cause lag sometimes. Speed thrills but kills. PSB was smooth because it was using DJSteve kernel which ofcourse had all overclock capabilities. I will add overclock later once i add support to other variants.

May I know what was the cause of ubertc random reboot and how you fixed it? It is related to flags?
I'll try myself on stock kernel and I guess I'll run into same problem. Anyway, when I tried ubertc on cm kernel, phone was stuck at Galaxy J5 logo.
Regarding Linux kernel version, did you upgrade it one by one till 3.10.104?

Yes flags. If any soft freeze then reboot. Lol. Actually the case should be opposite that is if any hard freeze then reboot. When i reported to samsung they changed it immediately. Like within 30 mins. Stupid samsung. I changed mine using menuconfig. Thats how i got sabermod also to work . No fault in toolchains
Ofcourse one by one and compile or else you will get 2 pages of errors  .So i am on 3.10.99 now and i got many errors for 3.10.103 . So just trying to figure out where is the bug

Keep up the good work !! :good:
Your J500H tester ...
Wishing a Happy New Year!
One advice would be to provide all other modules too!
Since Kernel is optimized from Toolchain, all modules are affected too.
This will provide a performance increase and stabilization.
You will see that module sizes are much bigger now.
Good luck!!
Gongratulations for the nice work..This device needed a kernel for M6.0.1.. I hope & for other models in the future if you can ofcourse .. Happy New year I wish ! (sry for english)
New update coming soon guys. Support for FN model also added. The kernel will be built again from the scratch with many changes to sources.
Regards
Raheel
Can someone help me to compile the wlan module.

I have used uberTC and linaro version 4.9. On my computer linaro compiles a bit slower than uber but has better stability

FAQ: (Read this before flashing the kernel and reporting bugs!)
Q. Gaming performace isnt good in this kernel!
A. Disable Samsung Hotplug from your preferred kernel tweaker app! Hotplug is disabled in builds from R2 onwards!
Q. Whats Fsync? should i disable it?
A. fsync transfers ("flushes") all modified in-core data of (i.e., modified buffer cache pages for) the file referred to by the file descriptor fd to the disk device (or other permanent storage device) so that all changed information can be retrieved even after the system crashed or was rebooted. This includes writing through or flushing a disk cache if present. The call blocks until the device reports that the transfer has completed. It also flushes metadata information associated with the file (see stat(2)).
Too scientific, didnt read! : In layman terms disabling Fsync gives you better performance with the risk of a Data loss/corruption during a system crash!
Q. I cant Flash NFS injector, FDE.AI, MAGNETAR and other tweakers on this kernel!
A. I have added a in-built kernel blocker to block installation of these so called "AIO kernel tweakers". You shouldnt install these tweaks in my opinion! If you still want to use a Tweaker, i prefer you use KTweak though i wont be providing support for issues if u have flashed any mods or anything of this likeliness!
Q. I have an issue and i have reported it in the XDA thread, yet nobody replied to me.
A. I might be slow in responding for issues reported in the XDA thread, if u want me to reply more faster, report it in the Telegram support group!
Q. My phone gets HOT while using this kernel!?
A. Short answer: It's your own issue, fix it yourself. Nobody makes a kernel just to burn your hands.
Long answer:
* Install Termux app from Play Store * Enable screen rotation, open Termux in landspace mode * Type this command: su -c top -d 2 * A list of processes will appear and refresh with 2s interval. Find which process consumes the most CPU usage with [%CPU] column and the package name in ARGS column. You should see the culprit of your issue.
Reminder: There is no such thing as "I have nothing in background but the phone still heats up". There definitely something happen and 99% of the time it's some of the rogue apps running in background.
Thanks to Diep Quynh for finding this one out!
I've tried it and for some reason left top corner of the screen never responded to touch. Ex: I couldn't turn on wifi from quick toggles n back arrow in some apps as I couldn't make a touch on left corner...
I didn't collect logs as I immediately reverted back to old kernel.

New kernel build is up guys! =)
Currently running the newest build, runs great, thanks for the work. 6h SOT and still 50% battery. Just wondering, any reason hotplug is disabled? Does it really impact performance that bad? Or is it just samsungs implementation? Tried to build a custom version using your source (with a big core oc and an undervolt), cant seem to for some reason. Once again, thanks for the great work. Any way to buy you a Coffee?

Hi mate!
1. hotplug is disabled cuz in my tests i found em to degrade performance and doesnt make much of a difference battery life wise, hence disabled and yes its a samsung implementation.
2. For OC u can pick ace2nutzers a2n kernel commits, i have tested em and it works
3. as for the undervolt, i havent tried em and probably wont be =)
4. Thanks very much, i dont need coffee or beers and stuff, u can hit the thanks button =)
Thanks and regards,
Stay Safe!
I am using this kernel on android 10 oneui
after i flashed the kernel i had weird issue concerning samsung clear case
when i close the case the screen turn on and when i open the case the screen turns off!
it acts in the opposite manner!
N950N supported?
is there any way to change to enforcing?!

Q: What bootloader does this need?A: It is strongly advised to install the One UI 3.1 update before installing Mint, for the most stable experience. Installing on Android 10 will cause issues, and is not supported.Q: I'm locked out (bootloop) after installation. What do I do?A: If you ever experience being locked out after installing any build, with SystemUI restarting after entering your password/PIN, and Samsung Account showing a Samsung Account logged out notification, you may have been experiencing the "Pin Problem".
Several builds of TWRP and OrangeFox have a security patch level (SPL) of 2099-12 (December 2099), but Mint follows the latest SPL available to the device. This causes the device to act up once booted into the kernel. Please note that it is intended behavior by the system and is not a bug.You can flash PassReset, or wipe your device to fix it.See here for more information.Q: I'm signed out from my Samsung Account and cannot log back. What do I do?A: Clear Samsung Account data. You can do either of the following:
With a PC and ADB installed, run this command:
Code:
adb shell pm clear com.osp.app.signin
On a terminal app with root access, do:
Code:
su -c pm clear com.osp.app.signin
Q: I'm experiencing other issues.A: Please report through this feedback form, or the Fresh Community on Discord. Please include logs, screenshots, or screen recordings so I can help you better.
Mint will never be possible without the unwavering work of these awesome people. I have tried my best to keep their authorships on Mint's commit history. Thank you very much!

Hiya
I have your fresh rom installed
And I've been using it for quite a while (Amazing rom btw)
Can i flash the kernel with this rom installed?
Will this work on my A505w with stock oneui 3.1?
so im on stock with root already - when i flash this (root) will it over write my magisk and modules or when i flash nonroot will it clear all my magisk stuff? ...
Quick Update:
I'm currently pulling out the Mint 11.5 release as I have observed instabilities when using specific applications. I thought those were fixed from testing but it seems the issue stems deeper than just a single commit revert.
HUGE apologies. The performance is great if I say so myself, but there are some major issues needed to be fixed.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello, sorry if its a stupid question, but there is something wrong with a50 ever since it was been updated to android 10/android 11, at least on my a505gt, whenever i get into a discord call, the audio starts to cut alot and it goes to mono sound, would a kernel fix it?
Currently I'm using your kernel with SnakeOS v4.0 and it running smooth like good peanut butter, good work.
@TenSeventy7
The question is, can I use it with any AOSP Android 12 ROM?

I tested this kernel with ProjectRadiant, Corvus, and PixelPlusUI. a bit laggy but I don't think it's relevant with this kernel.
