[Q] time label wrong in Lollipop Google Calendar day view - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In my lollipop phone, (Alliance ROM on Galaxy s5) the day view of the Google calendar app shows the wrong time... all the times are half an hour too early. Example: the label next to the line which is 10:00am shows 09:30,
the 11:00 line shows 10:30.
Which is a bit confusing.

I thought it was only me. I have galaxy note edge and between many problems after lollipop update there is simmering wrong with time and date calculations. First I noticed that problem with 24Me app - dates on list view were different than dates in tasks' details view. I thought it was app issue. But I see issues with time and date on many apps, like Cal, Google Calendar app. When I set appointment to 11am in the day view it's listed at 7am.
I also noticed that Google maps sometime calculate driving time wrong. It shows 48 minutes to location 5 minutes away.
Samsung screwed up this update big time. It's my last Samsung phone. Maybe even last android phone.

[Fix] How to easily clear duplicate or all events from your calendar

Hello All,
Since November of last year I have been using Jorte Calendar as my primary calendar. I have at times noticed that the same appointment shows up multiple times on the same day. This is mostly caused by restoring the rom from backup; seems that the stock calendar will just keep adding the events multiple times and it looks like they coincide with the number of rom restores I have done.
This drove me crazy for several months until it finally dawned on my that there are apps for the stock calendar (they are called calendar and calendar storage) which also hold the same information that Jorte is using. I surmised that one or both of these were the culprit causing the multiple entries of my calendar events. So I decided to try something as all I could lose is having yet another instance of every event added to the current calendar.
I opened my settings app; went to Applications or Managed Applications depending on your rom. Selected All (referring to it showing all applications) and scrolled down until I saw calendar and calendar storage. I opened each application and cleared data on both; then I scrolled down to Jorte and cleared the data on it as well.
I then opened Jorte and set it back up; closed the application and let it sit for a while so it would sync to both my google and work calendars. I came back to the tablet after 30 minutes and the calendar looked normal again. I had the proper number of events for each day and all of the duplicates were now gone!
Should you find yourself in a similar situation give this a try as I am betting you will also have similar success with your calendar as well.
Thanks for reading this and have a great day!

You really made my day. Those ebo - doublettes drove me really crazy and i already gave up until today.
I thought I should invest another few minutes on this problem googling for a solution - and here it is!
It really was a bummer!
Thank you so much!

[Q] Bing lockscreen on 7.8

I only seem to sometimes get half the image, almost like it has not completed downloading.
I can set it to another picture and back to bing and still get the same issue, seems to be hit and miss so far if i get the full image or not.
Anyone else getting this?
For the few days I had 7.8, the image would show up just fine initially, but it wouldn't update to the next day's image the next day.

[Q] Homescreen pages vanished after reboot

Hello everybody.
I have a recurring problem with my Nexus 5 on 4.4.2 (stock).
Sometimes after I reboot my phone, all of my homescreen pages except the main one just disappear. There is only the main one (and google now on the left) left. First time I had this problem I got frustrated, but just recreated the 3 pages I was missing. Some days later, out of nowhere, at least on of the missing pages reappeared, between my recreated ones.
This first time was just a few days after I got the nexus 5, so it wasn't that much of a hassle.
Now this happend again and I lost 2 well organized, and full to the brim, pages of apps. Most of you will know how much one can get used to the positioning of the app icons we use on a daily basis, so recreating that status quo is kind of important but a huge pain...
Any idea why this might happen or how I could recover this information? The behavior in the first incident suggests, that the pages aren't entirely lost, but just arent loaded for some reason and might return at a seemingly random point in time...

Issue with 12 hour time display

Is anyone else having an issue with some watch faces showing in 24 hour format instead of 12 hour? An example for me is the Glance watch face, there is no setting in the app to toggle and the display in Zen manage show 12 hour available but no matter what I do it displays in 24 hour format.

Well, I don't have this problem, but I recall there is an option in the FaceDesigner app (found under 'Settings') where you can switch to the 24-hour format. I don't know if this affects the watch faces made by Asus, but every single one of them is installed in FaceDesigner, too. So you may be able to just turn this option on and fiddle with the desired watch face there and then apply the modified watch face to you watch.
I am having the same issue. I don't see a place to change it.
Glance watchface and 24/12 hour format
I contacted Asus about the issue, and the rep confirmed that the Glance watch face was created by Asus. He passed on the feedback about the desire for a 12 hour setting to the development team. It probably wouldn't hurt for others to contact Asus saying something along the lines that you read that Asus developed the Glance watch face, that you read that a request for a 12 hour format feature had been made, and that you would also like to pass on your desire for a 12 hour format to the development team. The more people they read/hear from the higher it may become on their priority list, and the more likely it may come to fruition.
Glance watch face changed to 12 hour format!
Good news, it looks like with the latest update (probably ZenWatch Manager, or maybe the Android Wear update that came out around the same time) the Glance watch face now displays in 12 hour format instead of 24!

All alarms stopped working. Help!

Greetings,
About a day or two ago, I noticed that my alarm (Gentle Alarm) stopped working, meaning that the app seemed fine but the scheduled alarm time would come and go with nothing happening. Thinking it was an app issue, I tried several other alarm programs, including stock Clock, with the same result. No alarms actually went off. I have a ZTE Axon 7 running 7.1.1 stock on T-mobile.
It gets weirder. The same behavior began at the same time on my girlfriend's phone—Samsung (S4 or S5) with stock Lollipop (not sure of version number) on Verizon. I mean, we both tried a bunch of different clock apps, set alarms, and watched the times come and go with no actual alarm.
Needless to say, up until a couple days ago, we had no issues with alarm apps. Neither of us has updated the OS in that time period (or recently at all). We've both updated and installed some apps, but there was no overlap between us, so there didn't seem an obvious app that could be causing issues.
Also, a few other weird symptoms have shown up in the same time period; no idea if this is related in any way, but here goes. On the Axon, when I try to install from Play I get 100% downloaded and then...nothing. When I reboot the phone, I have a notification that the new app is installed. Also over the last couple of days I keep getting repeat notifications for things that are hours old. For example, I have gotten the same Facebook notifications several times over the course of 8 or 10 hours, and as I went to bed last night around midnight I was still getting MLB At Bat notifications (score changes, etc.) for the game I listened to mid afternoon.
On the Samsung, my g/f is sending texts that her phone reports as undelivered even after I (and others) have read and responded to them. The texts themselves seem to be very delayed in going out.
And to reiterate, all these issues have cropped up just in the last couple days on both phones. It would seem a virus might explain things; on the other hand I haven't used any public WiFi in that time period (or recently at all), all my downloads have been through Play and not of any (what I would consider) suspicious apps, and I run Lookout to scan all my app installs. As for my g/f, I think all she has done is update a few apps from Play that she has used for quite a while, and I don't think she has used a public WiFi, either.
I appreciate any help you can offer. We had to resort to using her work iPhone as an alarm clock this morning, which is just mortifying.
Thanks,
CJW
