Issue with 12 hour time display - Asus ZenWatch 2

Is anyone else having an issue with some watch faces showing in 24 hour format instead of 12 hour? An example for me is the Glance watch face, there is no setting in the app to toggle and the display in Zen manage show 12 hour available but no matter what I do it displays in 24 hour format.

Well, I don't have this problem, but I recall there is an option in the FaceDesigner app (found under 'Settings') where you can switch to the 24-hour format. I don't know if this affects the watch faces made by Asus, but every single one of them is installed in FaceDesigner, too. So you may be able to just turn this option on and fiddle with the desired watch face there and then apply the modified watch face to you watch.

I am having the same issue. I don't see a place to change it.

Glance watchface and 24/12 hour format
I contacted Asus about the issue, and the rep confirmed that the Glance watch face was created by Asus. He passed on the feedback about the desire for a 12 hour setting to the development team. It probably wouldn't hurt for others to contact Asus saying something along the lines that you read that Asus developed the Glance watch face, that you read that a request for a 12 hour format feature had been made, and that you would also like to pass on your desire for a 12 hour format to the development team. The more people they read/hear from the higher it may become on their priority list, and the more likely it may come to fruition.

Glance watch face changed to 12 hour format!
Good news, it looks like with the latest update (probably ZenWatch Manager, or maybe the Android Wear update that came out around the same time) the Glance watch face now displays in 12 hour format instead of 24!

Problem with Whatsapp

Is it me or anyone else having issues with whatsapp.
Sometimes it just does not notify me of a new msg, until I open the application (whatsapp). Probably, I guess its a glitch on the application side and not with Windows 7.5.. just comfirming, if others too are facing the same problem?!
same here with kik (whatsapp like)
if the lumia is on standby mode I receive new messages only when I unlock the screen and open the app
hmm.. seems like windows stops the installed application on standy mode... as the integrated mail system works fine.
I don't know if it's right or these apps aren't mango optimized
I have spotify streaming great even with the screen locked
same here ... i also think the start up is very slow
I have noticed this problem after the whatsapp update for group chat...
alright so its almost confirmed its the problem with the software and not our windows mango.. hope the developers tries to fix it, if its fixable..
how is the battery drain after installing whatsapp.
I had installed whatsapp sometime back on my Nokia E71 and it completely trashed the battery (I mean 100 to 0 in 2 hrs without even using the phone sometimes)
So is the version of whatsapp for wp7 better to battery
well Haven't noticed any significant drain..
I didn't notice battery draining but i have some issues too. It does notify new message also when the application is closed but when i open it i can sit down and wait till the next day to see the new message. I can say after a month experience that it works very bad.
WhatsApp for WP7 is glitchy and I think it does impact the battery. The developer really need to fix and optimize it better.
Yes, it seems to eat up the battery like crazy. My Lumia has pretty mediocre battery life already, but WhatsApp makes it even worse. Today I unplugged at 100%, sent 5 messages, received 7, and then left it alone. Less than an hour later I came back to find that my battery is now at 85%.
Not to mention that messages (on EDGE, mind you), take at least 10 minutes to deliver/receive. On WiFi it's almost instantaneous.

battery is still great after whatsapp.
have you ever used an android? battery does not last more than 24 hours.
anyway lets hope dev fix whatsapp asap. some times i do not receive new sms till i start application.
Not sure about the battery issue. But I did notice a few things about WhatsApp.
1. It does receive messages when its lying on my desk, if you have the tile for this enabled. Not sure if works with Tile disabled.
2. It only picks up Windows live phone numbers, and not FB phone numbers, even though both numbers are visible in the contact list and available in other apps, e.g. Voxofon, etc.
3. Battery issue, yes it does seem to consume a little extra battery with this app.
IMO, the app is not really optimised for WP environment, and is just a quick place-holder port onto this OS.
I really hope they update the app to fix the issue with accessing the FB numbers from Contact list.
EDIT:
Another suggestion for WhatsApp developers will be to use an IM service gateway, so that the WhatssApp messaging can be integrated into the beautiful messaging system in WP by just adding an account into the email/accounts menu.
This will allow users to seamlessly switch from text to WhatsApp to FB and so on, without losing the thread.
There's a new update for Whatsapp.
Another Problem.. dont know How did i missed to mention it, the first time...
is anyone able to open the received pictures from whatsapp..?!!

Yes, pictures send/receive works fine. If on G it takes forever, fast and seamless on 3G/WiFi.

[Q] time label wrong in Lollipop Google Calendar day view

In my lollipop phone, (Alliance ROM on Galaxy s5) the day view of the Google calendar app shows the wrong time... all the times are half an hour too early. Example: the label next to the line which is 10:00am shows 09:30,
the 11:00 line shows 10:30.
Which is a bit confusing.

I thought it was only me. I have galaxy note edge and between many problems after lollipop update there is simmering wrong with time and date calculations. First I noticed that problem with 24Me app - dates on list view were different than dates in tasks' details view. I thought it was app issue. But I see issues with time and date on many apps, like Cal, Google Calendar app. When I set appointment to 11am in the day view it's listed at 7am.
I also noticed that Google maps sometime calculate driving time wrong. It shows 48 minutes to location 5 minutes away.
Samsung screwed up this update big time. It's my last Samsung phone. Maybe even last android phone.

Moto 360 sport AW2.0 comments

just thought that we could use a thread for the sport users and comments on the AW2 update, considering how poorly viewed the Moto 360 v2 update was, and how many sport users would definitely profit from viewpoints of those who have the update.
I updated yesterday, and to be honest I was pretty excited. First things first, how the update went; while many people had difficulties updating, I had no such problem with mine. I enabled the always on while charging, got to the update screen, put it on the charger, and let it go( all done through the slow but not too slow Bluetooth connection). It downloaded, installed, and rebooted (which took longer than I anticipated). The setup process was quick and easy for me, and once I got setup I was off. The first thing I did was slide left for my apps, only to remember that this function is reserved for the watch faces now. I actually enjoy this feature, as it took ages to change a face on AW1.5( I can now put my favorite faces in a line, instead of setting the top three faces over and over until they were definitely in my recents). Next, I opened my app menu. This is a great feature now. The ability to put the apps I actually use at the top is very nice. Speaking of apps, let me touch on those. The play store CAN eat up some battery, so you might want to watch it(zing). It wasn't until I got AW2 that I realized that most wear apps are designed now with 2.0 in mind. The usability is increased, there are more options, and the apps are just..... Better. There's not an easy way to explain it without experiencing it.
Overall, I've been very pleased with this update. It seems more stable than AW1.5, not to mention more modern. I do have to say that the battery is going to die faster, but only if you're using it extensively. My watch battery currently is in a better standard than my phone's (but with a LG K10 what can you do?). Today, with activities including looking at my agenda, texting people back with the keyboard (which is so accurate I might DIE), looking through apps on the play store, and checking notifications, my battery is at 30%, and that's with 13 hours. Notifications, when set to high, work completely fine for me and I enjoy the new look greatly. all of the problems faced by the gen2 users I cannot find a existence of. I would recommend this update, as it seems that Motorola took the time they spent denying us our update and used it to fix the problems the gen 2 users had.
I agree - I love this update! With AW 2 the sport feels like a new watch. Sure, accessing apps is different than before ( no more swipe left) but that's fine - easy too adjust.
Battery life is pretty much the same as before for me and love the new look for the app drawer and notifications.
*Edited for corrections
Just got the update, I'll install it later and report back, I'm excited.
Update: okay I installed it a couple days ago and so far it's pretty smooth, better than before. Battery life is hard to tell yet but so far it's good, I'll update on that later. The OS has a ton of new features that were previously only on phones such as disabling apps and turning off Bluetooth which is cool. Typing on the tiny keyboard and with drawing is actually fairly easy. So far I'm loving the update, not a bad thing to say yet besides getting used to the new UI and it's various changes like opening the apps list with the button and scrolling fast up will scroll through the top notification (scrolling has more inertia basically). Oh, and the security patch is April 1, 2017.
Good post @Nobodyslight . I'm enjoying it too although I'm not using it quite as much as you are. I'll need to explore some more but right now I'm doing the Android O thing. One question is on notifications set to high. I haven't done it but I do like that once you view an on screen noti then it doesn't appear again unless you swipe up. You don't even have to swipe it away like before. With it set to high vs normal does that feature go away? In other words will the notification say on top of the face until you dismiss it?

It does stay, but you can swipe down to go back to the watch face. But I think under the app settings in settings you can change which apps can get that priority; so if you wanted only some apps to show up like that, you could arrange it that way

Thanks, but not seeing individual permissions. Not a big deal because I really don't want any app noti to stay on top. Good to know that is what high priority does. I'll stay away.
As for battery, I just hade a gps running (Strava) for the past almost 4 hours and I still have 50% left. I'll give it a quick charge now but that's really not too bad.
Mine was stuck on the 'continue setup on your phone' screen and I stupidly de-registered it with my phone. I can't even hard reset cause if I go onto recovery mode I can't swipe up or down. So it's pretty much dead any ideas?
Continuing here from where I reported in on the other thread; Went to bed with 100% battery and started sleep tracking from the watch on Sleep with Android. Put the watch into Theater mode and got a solid 6 hours sleep. Woke up to 50% battery. On Wear 1.5 I was waking up to 73~75%. Some watch owners that use Sleep are reporting that heart rate monitoring during sleep tracking was broken after upgrading to 2.0, while mine was so much more accurate than the last 3 months.
Overall, now that I've got vibration with my notifications, I've got hope for 2.0, battery issues aside. Overall the watch is much more responsive. The animations are smooth. The keyboard, I'm honestly shocked it works this well. Speech to text, 2.0 stomps the old 1.5.
I'm liking it ? We waited for a more polished version I think. I like my watch again.

You can try to factory reset without enter recovery mode:
1) from the watch Settings --> System --> Unpair and reset
or
2) from the phone, using Android Wear and selecting "unpair the watch"

Can't enter settings during the initial setup and I disconnected the watch but the watch stays hanging on the setup screen. I tried entering receiver to hard reset it but when I swipe up or down on the screen I can't change the option. I can only reboot
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to shuffle my running playlist since upgrading to AW2.0.
Has anyone figured out how to make this work yet?
But the battery life is not as AW 1.5 BTW which watchfaces do you use for complications support?

Hello everyone!
I have the next issue:
Google feed is not working AT ALL in the moto 360 sport.
I was a beta tester of google app, but leave the beta to test is that make the trick, but again a no-go.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The Google fees isn't as it is in the app. The only things that'll pop up in there is weather, and some location tidbits(assuming you have location on on your phone and watch, and you allow Google to give you location based cards)
I just purchased 2 of the 360 sport and first thing I did was upgrade them to 2.0. I originally had a Gear 2 Neo that was hacked to run android 1.5 on it. My wife had the Gear fit 2. So that is what I compare my experience to.
Here are my impressions so far:
Battery life seems pretty bad. I barely get a full day out of it. My Neo would easily go 2 days and my wife's fit 2 would go 3 - 4.
The screen doesn't respond as I would expect. It seems to not know exactly which way I want to swipe all the time.
Step counter is incredibly inaccurate. both watches consistently seem to only catch 50% of the steps. My wife is sending hers back for this reason.
Even though I have enabled "OK Google" in the settings, it never responds. Only way I can get speech recognition to work is hold down the menu button.
I have had mine randomly reboot twice. My Gear 2 Neo would do this occasionally but it was somewhat expected being hacked to run wear.
Not sure if I should send mine back and purchase a Gear s2. I did some Googling and these issues seem to be very common. Anyone have experience with the Gear S2 that can give me a comparison? Really like the 2.0 interface and the Moto360 is a nice watch, if these bugs were worked out.

Well that only took 8 months to fix! How the hell it was ever left out I'll never know....
https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/03/21/google-improves-play-music-experience-wear-os/
just bought a 2nd hand moto 360 sport and just in time for AW 2.0 to arrive. i had previously used a 1st gen moto 360 with AW1.5, but it has since died. gotta say, the AW 2.0 is looking solid, i enjoyed it very much, its more fluid, more easy to navigate.. but i think im missing something. i can't find the setting to vibrate or notify when my phone or watch is out of range of each other

Make your Ticwatch smoother than ever disabling TicSystem via ADB!

(I'm copying this over from my reddit posts, hope to help some more people, if enough are interested I'll make a video tutorial! P.S. I can't instert my reddit posts links because this is my first XDA post, if anyone looks for them, they are all called "Made my Ticwatch smoother than ever disabling TicSystem via ADB" and you can find them in r/WearOS, r/TicWatch and r/TicwatchOfficial)
So, I don't know if I'm the only one that had this problem, but my Ticwatch Pro was laggy as hell, barely usable, it frustrated me so much i stopped using it even while wearing it constantly. I had disabled every mobvoi app on my smartwatch and that improved battery life dramatically (Mobvoi account, Mobvoi privacy, TicExercise, TicHealth and so on) the only app i couldn't disable was TicSystem, I could only force stop it, and I had noticed that after stopping it my watch was smoother that it had ever been, but sadly it started again after a couple of minutes and the watch started lagging again, this may as well be caused by the TicSystem looking for all the apps i had disabled using all the cpu, but i couldn't give up the battery life I got disabling them, so I sat down and tried to find a solution.
And I did! I found a way to disable TicSystem via adb, and now my Ticwatch Pro runs perfectly smooth, this probably works on all ticwatch models but I haven't tried, and it's also extemely easy.
Before the tutorial I'll give you a disclaimer, I'M NOT AN EXPERT, I DON'T KNOW IF DOING THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR WATCH IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, I DON'T KNOW IF THIS STOPS OTA UPDATES FROM COMING TO THE WATCH, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING OR ANYONE, DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO YOU, YOUR WATCH, PEOPLE AROUND YOU, DINOSAURS AND TALKING COWS THAT MAY BE EATING GRASS NEAR YOU.
All jokes aside, I'm pretty sure it's fine, it probably will only improve your watch performance dramatically, but if something does happen to somebody, I don't want people blaming me, only do this if you know what you are doing.
So let's start, you'll need a computer, obviously, and your charging cable, you can also use adb over wifi if you are feeling extra fancy and don't want cables lying around, but I haven't tried that.
Go into your watch's settings, system, informations, and touch build number a bunch of times until it says you have become a developer.
Go back in your settings, developer options, and enable ADB debugging. (also enable wifi debug if you are doing this via wifi, but if you are doing it via wifi you probably know what you are doing so i'll just explain cable stuff from now on)
Plug your watch in your pc and allow debugging from that device (a popup will appear on the watch)
Install ADB on your pc if you haven't already, I won't tell you how to, it's full of guides out there, use google or your browser of choice.
Open your command line (type cmd in the windows start bar, this also works on mac, but you have to edit the commands a little, look up an ADB mac tutorial) and check if your watch is connected with:
Code:
adb devices
If your watch shows up, congrats! you are basically done!
Run:
Code:
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.mobvoi.wear.system.aw
And TicSystem will get disabled, you are now done!
If your watch doesn't show up in adb, google something like "adb device not showing up" and you'll find like a million tutorials.
If you ever want to enable TicSystem back, go in your settings, apps, app details, system apps (at the bottom), TicSystem, and tap "enable", wasn't so difficult, was it?
If someone else tries this, let me know your results! Very curious to know other people's opinions. Have fun, and be kind to eachother!
Edit: a user tried this and made me notice that his default ticwatch watchfaces disappeared, I think this only happens if you disable the "watchface" system app, if you want to keep them don't disable it, but keep in mind that if you disable the other ticwatch apps the steps counter inside the default watches will stop working because it's linked to ticwatch fitness apps, but google fit will still count your steps so it's just the default watchfaces that won't count steps.
Edit2: It's been over a day and the watch feels great, many people in all 3 subs (r/WearOS, r/TicWatch, and r/TicwatchOfficial) gave feedback and said it helped a lot their watches too, i also tried on my father's ticwatch pro and i haven't noticed any problems, but a user made me notice that the ticwatch charging ui disappeared (doesn't bother me, didn't find it useful anyway) but if you want to replace it another user suggested "wear charging widget" on the playstore, he also said it works much better than the default one so there's that, I'll try to keep updating the post and answer everybody on all 3 subs, I'm extremely happy to see all those people enjoy their watches more and more thanks to me, you are all amazing!
Edit3: It's been 12 days since I disabled TicSystem on my watch, and in the meantime I also disabled all the tic apps on another Ticwatch Pro and a Ticwatch S and they are all working great, I haven't found any problems at all, and many people reported imporved performance on every Ticwatch model! No other problems were reported so I'll go ahead and say this is probably going to be the last update, I may make a short video tutorial on youtube if people on XDA request it. For now, I'm extremely happy I got to help so many people and that everybody found new life in their old watches! I hope you all keep being amazing and I want to thank you all for a last time for the awards, all the support and all the kind words I got, have a great day!
I'm running 2 ticwatch E like this from 2 weeks . Battery life is incredible now, at least doubled and the watch is smoot and responsive . Be sure to disable Ticsystem via ADB , it's important , because without doing that you would have no benefit . I didn't diaabled it at first and my battery lasted 8 hours , now I can with no problem reach 20 hourse with a normal use . With an intense one From 7 a.m to 12 p.m with no problem ( no ok google , no tilt to wake). You will only loose the stoch watchfaces and the charging screen , the last one could be sostitute with wear charging widget that works 100 times better

Hi, thanks for taking the risk. I already disable most mobvoi apps since the first time I use it, leaving only the watchface and this TicSystem. I am afraid it will cause instability, hence I just leave it there.
Yesterday I try to disable Ticsystem too, and so far I can tell it has better battery life. Usually it will drain 4%/hour while connected to my phone. So in 12 hours interval, it usually consume about 50%. Yesterday test leave me with 60% within 12 hours (40% usage). So it is about 25% better battery life. And I only lose the charging animation which I can deal with it.
I still keep the watchface though, and maybe will remove it if I can stick with another watchface.

Yes, I have read that actually before, but I have no problem with no charging animation, since it is not important. I don't want to add any other unneeded app. I already have the flow in automagic to notify me about the charging and when full. And I can easily design a widget to replace the charging animation if I really need it.

No, it won't if with the same packagename. I don't know if fossil have many bloatware or not. But you have to ask others for the test. Disabling system app is very dangerous, it can cause bootloop in worst case.
You can try to find the app name and try to match it with the package name from the adb command : pm list packages
All ticwatch bloatware start with com.mobvoi.xxx. fossil must have different package names.

Sounds interesting, I'm giving it a try! Could this work keeping tic heart rate and tic exercise enabled? I mean, I disabled it correctly, but will it improve my experience anyway?

Well, I got a problem: screen won't turn off automatically, I have to flip my arm or to put the palm of my hand over the screen. So, I decided to enable it back and now it's all working properly.
Anyway, I suggest you to enable all cores to have a significant performance boost  https : // forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/other-smartwatches/rom-kernel-t3821013

That is very weird, I haven't had that problem and no one else reported it, and many many people tried this on my reddit posts. What apps did you disable exactly?

I disabled Tic Sistem only, via adb, as suggested in your post. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have no problem disabling that. The only ticwatch app remain enabled at my watch is only the watchface.
Additional test until now, I can say it takes about 40% in 12 hours, approx 3,33%/hour, the best I can get. This translate into about 30 hours max usage. During busy day, it can drain more than that. But I can safely say that even if I left with 70% in the morning, I am pretty sure it can last until I get home at night.

Ok I'm giving it another chance Now the screen turns off correctly, what a strange thing since I've done the same procedure. We'll see! I'll keep you informed.
Anyway, do you know if tic system will be automatically re-enabled after system updates?

Probably you should restart it first at the first try. I restart the watch once in a while, and probably I do that right after I disabled it (forgot already).
I don't see any system updates soon, but it should have stayed disabled. Unless there is a major update and it resets the app preferences.

I don't remember if I restarted it yesterday, that could be the reason of the problem! I usually do it, but it could be my fault
Today I restarted it directly from adb since it became unresponsive suddently after disabling the service. Now it seems to be working properly.
Also disabling "Ambient Mode" app makes my Ticwatch PRO faster
Question: if I disable or remove apps via adb, what happens during next software upgrade?
After doing this, the "Ticwatch Power menu" is gone... (holding down the bottom button for 3 seconds)
But if you hold down the top button for like 5 seconds, it will show up the official power menu from Wear OS

Should have stayed disabled. Except if the update reset the app preference, then you can simply disable it again in adb.

My Ticwatch E doesn't have any menu show up. Only vibrate and launch the Gass. recognition after being holded down 3 seconds. I don't use OK google though.

Makes sense if disabled but what if removed?

amazfit app strange behaviours

Hi guys,
I've recently bought an amazfit gts and I like it!
Unfortunately when I try to track a fitness session (free excercice, but is the same for other kind of tracking) my amazfit app doesn't track my heartrate well.
Actually it track only a part of the workout and it is really frustrating!
I.e.: if I do a 50 minutes workout when I check my zones on the app I found someting like: 2 minutes light, 7 minutes intermediate, 15 minutes aerobic, 7 minutes anaerobic...
so I lost 20 minutes of statistics! :|
At beginning the watch too was traking bad my heart rate zones; but now it seems to be consistent with the full workout time. (but I don't know if it's completely reliable)
The strange thing is that using a 3rd party app (notify and fitness) I found all the statistics and I don't feel any issue.
I found a strange statistic for sleep too... it seems like the app doesn't consider the not sleep time (yellow in the app) and my statistics are allways lower than real
here too notify and fitness do a better job.
Some other has same problems? it could be that my watch is not working propertly?
Just last question about gym based exercices... I see my heart rate is not so high, but I can't understand if it's correct or not (my upper rate is around 165...).
Some one else use this watch for HIIT or gym based exercices?
thanks in advance for answers!
Update Amazfit app to latest version (3.4.7 as of now), and factory reset watch. Use the watch about 2 fingers from the wrist bone and as tight as possible without making it uncomfortable.

Thank you very much for your answer!
Actually I've done a factory reset of watch a couple of time, and upgraded it to the last official firmware version.
About the app, I have the last version available 3.4.6-play for my device (Google Pixel 3a XL with Android 10).
Do you know for sure that these issues affect the 3.4.6 version and the 3.4.7 will fix them?
Thank you.
3.4.7 fixes a lot of syncing issues, as well as HR problems in GTS/GTR. Update and try it to see if it helps...

Ok... do you even know when amazfit will release the 3.4.7 version of the app? (on android 10 the last is 3.4.6-play and it has been released on November the 22th).
