Is Portege Z30-A enough? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently I lost my macbook air, core i7 and then bought a Toshiba Portege Z30-A {Intel® Core™ i7-4600U (2.1GHz, up to 3.3GHz, 4M Cache), 8 GB RAM, 256 SSD}
My question is, is portege Z30-a, a perfect notebook for android rom development and android application development?
or I should buy another brand or model? I just operate my portege z30 3 days and feeling the display is not comfortable!
please help me to decide!

[Q] Samsung 10.1 vs viewsonic 10.1 dual os

Hi All,
I am too Confused,
I am not sure which is better : Samsung 10.1 or viewpad with two OS : android and win 7.
I am not sure how the touch works with viewsonic?
Can any one please let me know which is better overall?
The issue is, I am afraid of viewsonic in the touching screen speed, The processor speed, the screen resolution, the overall performance, the available apps, games.
The main thing that is making me thinking of viewsonic is the WIN 7 thing,Which will help me open my work application on it like the notebook, but I am afraid of the above concerns.
Can you judge on that?
Thanks,
Wael
Im not TOOOOO sure on the comparrision..but i do know GTab has Tegra 2 Dual Core...which is the best out there now. The BIG Tablets have this. So for speed..its there.
Touch Screen is Capacitive....which is very good. It just ships new with the TanNTap thing. Which sucks. But when you load one of the ROMs on it...its wayyy up there with the good Tablets. At least they say this on the net.
This probably isn't the best place to ask the question since this is gTablet forum & not a Viewpad 10 forum.
The dual boot Viewpad 10 is totally different from our gTablet. The only similarity is that they are both sold by Viewsonic. Viewpad has an Intel Atom(x86) processor (that's how it can run Win7) while the gTab has an Nvidia Tegra 2 (Arm) processor. Viewpad is running Android 2.2 X86 (android ported to run on Intel processors) while gTab is running Android native. Viewpad has 2G of DDR3 memory, gTab has 512M DDR2. Viewpad has either 16 or 32G SSD (solid state drive), gTab has a 16G emmc (embedded multimedia card).
While there may be a few users who have used a dual boot Viewpad, probably the vast majority here have not (as I have not).
I must have missed that. Thought he typed GTab. Yea..since it was a GTab thread i assumed that. Missed the Viewpad word he typed.
Thank you
Thanks for your answers. Yes, I am talking about the viewpad 10 and not the Gtab.
Do you think that no one tested it because it's not good?
Should I buy Samsung 10 or viewpad 10?

[Q] Need Help, Which Android tablet is better?

I am looking for a tablet for my family member but as there are many models with different features and sometime they overlap each other. Also price is a concern as I have budget of up to $160 (+/- $10).
As I search on net for tablets, lot of Chinese tablet came up with the price around my budget and many less than that. I summed up my search to Ainol tablets including Ainol Venus and Discover. But as I read the reviews regarding both tabs as well as other Ainol tabs, it seem as there is falling trend of quality or maybe they had such experience from having Ainol tablets.
So it would be very helpful if someone guide me in choosing a tablet from Ainol Venus or Discover or maybe better than both within my budget. Also there's another tab, Pipo S3 tablet as it is Dual Core whereas the above tabs are Quad Core. This is the another factor which made me confuse to decide for a tab. Either should I go for Dual Core or Quad Core? Please guide.
Tab with these features would be better:
7 or 8 inch, IPS screen would be plus, 16:9 screen ratio would be better, 1 GB or 2 GB DDRam, 16 GB internal memory, no GSM/3G required, bluetooth would be plus, dual camera (regardless of megapixels), Android 4.1/4.2, HDMI output, OTG port
Thanks in advance.

chromebook choice

Reading so much things about Chromebook that I want now test by myself but which one should i buy...Acer R11, Asus flip, HP 14 ...lenovo ?
I'm loosing my mind... Could you help me to choice referring your experiences
Thanks
Asus Chromebook Flip because it has support for Android apps from Google Play Store.
older refurbs can work well
This might not be the direction you wanrt to go, but I liked the acer c720 (refurb).
Successfully ran crouton (trusty( on it (more like "briskly walked" crouton on it).
The version I had could not be reasonably upgraded from 2 GB of RAM.
I found a page about upgrading acer chromebooks, you can find it by searching for "How to upgrade the Acer C7 Chromebook" (i.r. noob, thus no link)
I then found an older c710-2834 (higher clock on previous-gen celeron), swapped in an SSD and added RAM to the spare slot.
I ended up with an ultraportable with 10 GB DDR3 and a 240 GB hard drive that actually runs crouton (occasionally even sprinting), at a very low cost.
The caveat is that the slightly more power-hungry processor along with upgrades trade off some of the battery life that the c720 had.
Whichever way you go, I hope it works out well for you.
Thanks for your answer... Asus chromebook flip is not available in France.... Only amazon us but no azerty keyboard... So the last one Chromebook out in France is Acer r11 with better CPU and same versatility.... Tablet mode, PC mode and one another.... It cost 299€
I don't know if chrome os will be fine for me but I'm searching for something different....I also saw that chrome os could be installed also under a raspberry pi 3.... So may be I could try this os under this device before buying one real Chromebook....
The new way to run android apps in native is interesting

If you have an old laptop sitting around, load CloudReady Chromebook clone software on it. I have a Dell 3010 Chromebox and I have CloudReady loaded on an old Dell 1545 laptop. CloudReady is nearly identical to a Chromebook. At least you can get the feel of a Chromebook before buying one.
CloudReady by Neverware. Free for individual use.

The HP Chromebook 11A is a good choice. It has got a great design and a powerful mediatek processor.
Yeah even I was reading about this Chromebook today. Great choice for budget users tbh. If you're still looking for a good chromebook, I'd also suggest the Lenovo Duet Chromebook. Both have fab mediatek chipsets and are under Rs. 26K. The Acer Spin 311 is good too.

KB KB-T900 from Amazon?

I recently purchased this tablet from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS52XC5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has Android 5.1 and would like to find out if it can be upgraded. I think the tablet is made by Kubi and is model number KB-T900, but I could be wrong and probably am. If anyone has any suggestions for how to upgrade, root or otherwise improve the device, I would appreciate the help.

I'm looking at recent one on Amazon as well. 10" Kubi, 4gb RAM, 64GB ROM, Android 7.0....
Says upgrades are downloadable. I also see its an MTK chipset so you can use the SPFlash Tool, which is just like Odin for Samsungs....
Have you ever found root?
Awesome specs for $125 !!!!!!!
zach
No, I never did and, after a month or two, the device stopped working properly. I have yet to determine if it is the digitizer that’s gone bad or something causing the OS to run slow. I pretty much gave up on it after getting no answers to my question.
