VS985 Lollipop BUGS - Verizon LG G3

Here are some bugs/missing items I have noticed in the new 23A update
1. Google cast is present but located under miracist. it is extremely laggy and disonnects while casting a video
2. No "users" option unlike in other varients version of lollipop.( figures Verizon would take out features)

Could just be me too but auto sync doesn't seem to be working for gmail or hangouts. Opening app and manually syncing each one brings a plethora of missed stuff.

no issues with syncing here

That has happened occasionally under other Android versions. Try deleting your Google account from the phone and re-adding it.

I have not noticed that issue. I have disconnected a few times without having to toggle airplane mode.

Anyone else having an issue with Bluetooth audio? Pandora over Bluetooth starts to stutter like it needs to cache the song but never catches up. only happens via Bluetooth.

so after a few days of running this i went back to kitkat....seems to have the memory drain issue as previously stated.....random hangup and freezing up....wasnt getting my notifications from my vivint alarm. so back to kitkat till the official release comes

No data issues after switching off Wi-Fi here either.

Been running for half a day. No major issues. No problems with wifi/data, bluetooth, or sync. Battery usage appears a bit higher than usual at this point.
Edit: After 2 days I experienced the data loss issue. Had to switch to airplane and back to get data working again. Battery life has improved.

I'm getting some pretty serious lag in Chrome when running off of WiFi (but not on LTE). Not sure what's going on there. Tried clearing data on Chrome. No luck.

Just for fun you could always try this...
In the address bar type 'chrome://flags', then scroll down, find SPDY/4 and enable it. SPDY/4, is the HTTP/2 standard and could help with loading of certain pages!
Edit- would like to apologize, didn't mean to derail this thread...sorry

Same exact issue here. Only on wifi. Seems to affect several google apps only. Notice that g-mail sync is delayed, playstore loads slow, G+ loads images slow. All only on wifi. Turn off wifi, its normal. I welcome the conspiracy theories....I know I have them!
*edit* for chrome, switch to the beta. Big difference.

I'm having problems with some 3d games textures in some games.
Looney Toons Dash! is the the worst offender. Obstacles and even the ground, disappears.

I am experiencing issues with Google Now. Opening the app it tells me can not connect to network this is on Wi-Fi and LTE. I unistalled the update and have the same issue.
This is all I have for now, only been 8 hours on LP.

No issues here with Google Now use it multiple times per day.

Maybe not a bug, but has anyone had issues with the Visual Voicemail App after their update to Lollipop? Mine just force closes every time i launch it. Tried clearing cache, uninstalling updates and disabling, re-enabling the app, using the upgraded APK posted in another thread, all leads to the same thing. Next step i'm thinking of doing a factory reset to see if maybe something got fubar'd during the upgrade process.

So this gets even weirder. I installed Chrome Beta, per your suggestion, and it didn't really make any noticable difference. But then, I get up this morning and piddle around with it, and it's all back to normal speed, seemingly on its own.

FIXED: "Processing..." and page loads, take forever.

searched, no find.
I have two consistent issues.
1 - When retrieving sites requiring a login, or when logging into LastPass, if I can get to the "Processing..." popup, it will hang and sit. Sometimes it will complete Processing... after a couple minutes, and sometimes it will continue until I kill the app. This issue is frequent, so restarting the app is not an acceptable workaround.
2 - When loading a page it will often do the same but without a popup. It will take forever to load, sometimes not at all. Occasionally I can reload the page and it will work, occasionally it will not load at until I reboot the phone or something.
these issues seem to occur frequently on home wifi. my PC, also on wifi, will load from these servers instantly.
i have had the issue on the following:
stock
Unnamed latest
Shostock latest
entropy dd latest, and last two
siyah latest and previous
with/without overclocking
with/without data enabled
affects all browsers, lastpass, tapatalk, xda premium, etc, etc.
caches cleared, including dalvik
no stress on the phone, running usually 250-500MB RAM only.
any ideas? the phone is basically unusable as a smartphone at home. the issues may or may not be as bad on regular data. TIA.
one more try... anyone help with this issue?
You state that this is mostly happening on your home Wi-Fi connection; is it possible that you have some sort of QoS / traffic shaping setup on your wireless AP / router that may be resulting in this condition? Also, do you have any of this type of behavior on cellular 3G or other Wi-FI connected networks?

thanks for the reply.
the issue is inconsistent even at home. i have been watching for causal conditions but not finding anything yet. it does not appear to be my wifi. no other devices have ever had any kind of problem, and there have been many (i share the my wpa2 wifi with neighbors as well, many smartphones, etc). yes, the issue frequently affects me off wifi on data. and yes, it occurs at my office wifi as well. but the intermittent nature makes me think it's something with the phone's software, which is why i'm focused on figuring this out here. when it rains it pours, and i will have to reboot the phone, not just kill my browser or other app, in order to connect. sometimes rebooting more than once is required.
Have you tried a 'wipe data / factory reset' in ClockworkMod Recovery?
yes, i did actually. the issue is happening even loading basic google searches out on H+. the page will usually load, but will take literally 3+ minutes to load it. i'm not sure what's going on but it seems there's something going on between me and the servers that is hanging my data retrieval. i'm mystified. but the phone is literally stuck on page loads & data retrieval about 70% of the time. i don't have any weird software running in the bg either. pretty basic Entropy DD (tried the last 2) and ShoStock latest. is it possible there is some hidden settings somewhere i can look at? i have scoured all available settings on the phone, but there's gotta be something deeper i can look at. any recommended system tweak apps for this?

ok, mine is a refurb, but has not appeared to have even a single hardware issue. guess i'll continue to cycle new software and see if this eventually irons out. next step is to get more into the system settings and investigate. my initial guess is my phone is sending repeated requests in the background.
if anyone is interested, i may have found the problem. i'm no networking guru, but i changed my phone's DNS settings to OpenDNS's servers like my home router's config. previously my phone was using Google's DNS servers. after changing the phone to OpenDNS loads are consistent and snappy like every other box in the house. keeping an eye, but so far so good.

My prime slows down my entire home internet network! (Solved)

EDIT:
PROBLEM SOLVED
It was google plus, I downloaded a networking app, and it turns out G+ was sending and downloading a ton a data, i stopped the App and internet speed went back to normal.
I found this pretty hard to believe. I've been having internet issues at home for a few weeks, perhaps since 0.28? I have been calling back and forth with my ISP and bought a brand new router yesterday. I could not figure out why my internet would go from 9-10Mbps to 1-2Mbps randomly, it was infuriating. I finally noticed that when my prime wasnt connected to wifi my internet speeds were fast. I ran a speed test while my prime was connected to wifi getting 1.4Mbps, and pressed the wifi button on my Prime to turn it off, and instantly my speed test went to 9Mbps.
How is this occurring? Is there an app that could cause this?

Nothing was downloaded. I did a soft reset (holding side button for 30 seconds) and immediately after it booted my internet slowed down again. I'm glad I figured out what was causing the issue, but this is definitely a strange problem.

Isn't G+ bloatware? Did you just disable G+ or uninstall it all the way. I tried to uninstall it (not rooted or unlocked) and all I got was app info not uninstall. I disabled it. Will this cause other unforseen problems?

Very likely syncing up photos. If it's maxing out your upload will be congesting the download too. Turn off photo sync in the application options.

Wifi and Google Services major problem!

Hi all!
I have an international version of the S3 with a weird problem.
When I have Wifi connected my phone can't sign in to Google talk and wont receive notifications. I can browse and download stuff though.
If i switch to 3G all is well and working. I have tested on different networks and I have a galaxy tab 10.1 connected to the same wifi without problems so it's no ports in the firewall that's causing it.
If I restart the phone it works for about a day then it fails again and I have to restart the phone to get G-talk over wifi.
I have tried setting the phone a static IP, switched "Keep wifi on during sleep" on and off, tried the trick with power saving in debug menu but nothing helps.
Has anyone experienced the same and can someone maybe suggest a fix?
Best regards
Erik
I have tried IM+ and that works perfectly over wifi. The problem is that since GTalk does not work over wifi then I don't get notifications from Google Play or other apps as well. When i switch over to 3G I get all notifications at once.

[Q] no push notifications on wifi with KK

I upgraded my phone to KK back in late december and have been on it ever since but one problem has plagued me since then and I'm hoping to get some insight here. heres the problem...
When im connected to wifi (and this is only with wifi, not MD) I don't get my push notifications (gmail,fb,words, hangouts, etc) when the screen is off.Often i turn my screen on and get a barrage of notifications that i should have gotten hours ago. Ive tried all the sleep modes and Ive tried turning off wifi optimization.Nothing works and I know for fact it did not do this on JB.
I DO get text messages and phone calls instantly though but nothing else will wake my phone up. While i do enjoy the deep sleep, i would like to get my notifications in a reasonable amount of time without having to turn the phone on to check them.
Has anyone else had this "problem"?
Nope. Have you looked into what is and isn't checked in your Google Settings? There's a Play Games tab that allows you to mute certain games, essentially stopping their notifications. I don't suppose you've messed with that, have you?
It's strange, I've not really heard of this, especially since you're getting texts and such.

Yeah i know and I've googled it to death for a few months now. I'll check g settings but idk why that would stop gmail. It's like when I'm on Wi-Fi w/ the screen off its just a plain old dumb phone. I turn the screen on and the notifications just flood in.
Edit: nothing in g settings is muted. The only thing i can think of is i don't have app data synced in accounts.
I think i figured it out. I had "sync app data" unchecked in accounts. So far I've been getting notifications screen on and off. Now if someone will just play back to me on wwf...
EDIT: i may have spoke too soon. It still doesnt wake up without turning on my screen

I did when I was using Omni and it worked great. I haven't used it since running RR, however.
So you're wifi connected, and have actively turned mobile data off? I have never even tried that...
If, however, you mean that this happens only when you're connected to WiFi, then no, I have not experienced this issue.
The only other setting that I can think of that pertains to sync is in system settings > Data usage > settings > [ ] auto-sync data, but I don't think that would cause the awake-vs-sleep sync issues that you're describing.
I used to use Active display, I currently use AcDisplay, I'll likely go back to using the baked-in active display.

No i never turn mobile data off. I just meant that notifications come as expected when I'm on mobile data but on Wi-Fi, once the phone hits deep sleep (<a minute) i won't get notifications unless i turn the screen on.
I ask about active display because i remember when on resurrection ROM i was using it and getting notifications then and kind of forgot about it but I'm on PAC 4.4 now and it's doing it again. However i was using the init.d scripts they have baked in but have them all turned back off now to see if that fixes it.
It's the strangest thing I've seen. It's like when I'm on Wi-Fi and turn the screen off it just disconnects from all data even though i can plainly see that it is not. Angela has the same phone with the same settings as mine but on RR 5.0.5 and she gets notifications fine.
@cyril279 I knnow this is off topic but have you tried this AD app? Its got some other features/customizations that aren't on the built in AD
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.activenotifications
That was actually one of the first active-display variants that I tried. It worked well, but there were a couple hiccups that kept me shopping. The add-on AD clones have great features, but they don't play well with the stock lockscreen, or they leave the [home] button active, or involve significant lag when evoking the notification. The baked-in clones operate fluidly, but without the cool-stuff. I haven't tried active notifications recently though, maybe the updates have smoothed things out. I'm definitely down to try it again.
AcDisplay's development has been re-directed by Motorola. It's still my favorite of the clones, the beta version is boss, but it still isn't as fluid as the built-in boring-ol Omni AD.

[SOLVED] Not Receiving Notifications on WiFi
My suspicions have paid off!! I started suspecting my router was the culprit so i pulled out my old netgear2400 and hooked it up and low and behold my notifications starting lighting my phone up again!!
The problem was the Xfinity router that came from comcast. Apparently it was closing the "heartbeat" line to stay connected when the screen was off before the heartbeat would send again, if that makes sense.
For the time being I'm going to just use my netgear router BUT I was able to fix the problem with the Xfinity router by using an app called Push Notification Fixer. Just install it, follow the instructions, and set the WIFI/mobile data heartbeat to the recommended settings. If that don't work start shortening the heartbeat time. It'll make sense when you see the app.
Hope this helps someone else along the way. I went a LONG WAY down the google rabbit hole before I figured this one out.
Great news, glad it was an easy fix!

I'm having the same issue with KitKat CM11 ROM on my HP Touchpad (which is WiFi only), and will have to try this. Notifications come in instantly on my iPhone/iPads, but my Touchpad gets some serious delays...sometimes right away, and sometimes delayed.
By the way, did "Sync App Data" setting for an account have anything to do with push notifications, or is that more for backup purposes?
---------- Post added at 02:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:04 PM ----------
Oh darn, mine is still delayed even with the push notification fixer installed and WiFi heartbeat at 5min. Even after I've just rebooted my Touchpad, actively using it, and not even 5 minutes has passed. Delay was 8 minutes and then the notifications came streaming in.
With Android/KitKat, do you have to have the app open in the background for push notifications to go thru? Or run the app at least once after a reboot?

Certain Apps won't work on WIFI - No fixes found

I've scoured the internet for every forum thread or article I could find on this issue, and I've tried many of their fixes as well as my own. I own an unlocked S10 lite North American variant. So far the only app I have found that doesn't perform properly is Snapchat, and the issue is only with sending messages, not receiving or viewing them. Messages will sit on "waiting to send..." until I turn off WiFi and go back to data, after which they will immediately send. This is a really big issue for me as I use Snapchat very often as my main mode of communication for most of my friends and family. Luckily I have unlimited data, I'd be screwed if I didn't. If anyone needs or wants more info I'll be more than happy to provide it. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, they'd be much appreciated, I've been dealing with this problem for about a week now and it's really starting to bug me.
Edit: I'd also like to state that this issue has been happening for me since I bought the phone brand new last week. I have not done any modifications such as rooting.

I have two routers in my home... It seems to only happen when I'm connected to a 5g router, 2.4Ghz works just fine as far as I can tell.
Edit: I stayed on my 2.4ghz router and now snapchat is acting up again after about 40 minutes, however it was functioning correctly until that point.
just ran across this setting in mobile data and was wondering if you had checked to see if any apps were set on this.
