Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

unlock all lte bands and gsm
1. Download this zip Google it as it's banned from xda for the ability of imei change
2. Extract it and install QPST from that zip
3. Open the caller app and type in *#*#8778#*#* (it should go off the screen after you type in the last symbol "*"
3.5 Those on custom roms (tested on cyanogen 11 with s4 mini) can use the efs professional toolkit to change the mode to enable the diag port.(Thanks @blackburn !)
4. Connect your phone to your PC
5. Open ADB console
6. Type in these commands:
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop persist.usb.eng 1
7. Turn off USB Debugging, Disconnect your phone from the PC
8. Wait about 10 seconds (don't have to be exact, just let it all disconnect in the PC) and turn USB Debugging back on
10. Connect it back to the PC. It should try to install drivers. Wait until it fails to install all of them.
11. Open device manager - you will see your device model a few times. Go to details tab. Scroll down a single time on that tab. You will see MI_0x there.
12. Go through those devices until you find MI_04 under the second drop down position.
13. Select "update driver" for this device and install the htc driver from the zip.
14. Press start button and navigate to QPST -> QPST Configuration
15. Go back to device manager -> modems -> HTC
16. Find "COM*" in my case it was "COM3". It might be different for you.
17. In QPST Configuration click on "Add new port" and in "Port" type in your "COM*". In my case It's "COM3" in there. In Port label it could be anyting u want. In my case I used a Z1 so I typed IN "Z1".
18. It should look like this now.
19. Navigate to QPST/bin and open RV_NV_Manager.exe
20. press on settings -> Comport and choose your COM port.
21. Press on file -> read from phone
22. Wait patiently until it is finished. Now pay attention!
23. Go to line 1877, click it and copy the decimal number on the right side of a programme. right click - copy
24. Go to the place where you extracted the zip from the first step and start mzTool
25. On the left side you will see "Input radix" - press decimal there.
26. On the right side you will see "RF BC CONFIG" paste your previously copied number from the RV_NV_Manager.exe there.
27. You will see now what bands are you able to use on the bottom of the app in "Bit information"
28. Switch tab to "Band Preference (NV Value)"
29. In there select all GSM bands and WCDMA bands. This place is really a field of testing. In my case (C6903 LTE) I selected all of GSM and WCDMA. I wouldn't suggest you to do anyting else in here unless you know what your'e doing. Let me know if you got something interesting in there.
30. After you're done choosing what bands do you want - copy decimal number from the bottom right
31. Remove all commas from that number ( "," ) so it would be just a bunch of numbers without anything else.
32. Open RV_NV_Manager.exe from the point you left it (step 23) and paste your new number without commas "," there.
33. Press on write NV and then press on file ->write changed NV to the phone.
34. Open up the terminal emulator on your phone and write there this:
Code:
su
setprop persist.usb.eng 0
35. Reboot the device and hope you'll have the reception. If you do, hooray!
36. Type in *#*#SERVICE#*#* (*#*#7378423#*#*) to see your new bands that your phone can use!
If your phone can't boot then flash stock FTF to your device and you should have your reception back!
Enjoy!

xt912 'this sim card is from an unknown source' error after radiocomm

I've been trying to configure a xt912 on at&t for voice use, but can't seem to get the phone to accept the sim card, I keep getting the same error. I can access apn settings, and see at&t settings there, making me think that the sim card must be installed correctly. I've run radiocomm, and fixed the values associated with unlocking the gsm. Yet, I can't seem to get a signal or get past the unknown sim error.
I'm running the vzw 6.16.211 rom as restored with razr utility 1.8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although this is from a different phone it may help in the process.
1. Do a standard factory wipe on your device
2. Pull battery and replace after the device boots
3. Connect via USB to computer and enable USB MASS STORAGE, allowing drivers to install
4. Google and DL bionicbootstrap.apk and copy to the root of your micro sd card
5. have RSDLITE (latest version) installed on your machine
6. Google an DL VRZ_XT875_5.9.904.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01
7. Disconnect phone and power it off
8. Holding both volume up/down, press power button and scroll to select apfastboot
9. Connect device to computer
10. Open RSD lite and flash VRZ_XT875_5.9.904.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01
11. Let the Bionic do its thing and reboot
**You should now be on a stock Verizon ROM and the welcome screen**
12. Connect device using PC ONLY MODE
13. Google and download motofail_windows.zip, unzip, and run the bat file (making sure your device is in debug mode as well)
14. Let the device root
15. Enable installation of apps from unknown sources
16. Power down phone and reboot into CW Recovery
17. Clear data/factory reset
18. Clear cache
19. Clear dalvik cache
20. Install bionicbootstrap.apk
21. Reboot device
**You should now be on a stock ROM/rooted, with the Bionic Bootstrap app loaded in your app drawer**
22. Connect the Bionic using PC ONLY MODE
23. Google and DL radiocomm (latest version) I believe I used 11.2.1 but can verify later
24. Let radiocomm install and also install needed drivers
25. Follow these instructions to enable the GSM radio:
In Radiocomm go to MA->CDMA1X->QSC60x5
After it comes up, switch to FTM Common1 tab and wait for the phone to enumerate purple.
On the upper right side in the NVAccess, scroll to NV item 1877 NV_RF_BC_CONFIG_I
Read the value from the device
Replace the first 8 bytes (16 digits) with: 8703E80400000200
Write the data to the device and powercycle.
This will enable GSM/UMTS bands.
26. Reboot the phone
27. At the "Touch Droid to Begin Screen", touch the 4 corners from the upper left going clockwise
28. the device should now go into the "sync" screen - "communicating with server"
29. Let it time out/fail - whatever - doesn't matter
30. You should now be at the Bionic's wallpaper and able to set up accounts, GPS, etc.
31. Don't change any of the network settings - It will do this automatically

[Fix] MMS for VM/Boost Running Sprint ROM

In no way did i write this. I stumbled onto this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794956 (many thanks AlpineMan btw) and have seen the question here in the Evo 3d section a few times and thought it was worth a share for those running a Sprint ROM and VM or Boost service. I did step one and it worked like a charm. And to me any fix is a good fix. Especially in the land of root phones.
Method 1 - (the real fix, but requires a rooted phone):
***UPDATE***
I've confirmed that this method works on Jellybean ( 4.2.2). Tested and working on VM Evo 3d
1a) Download this working Sprint APN xml file: https://www.box.com/s/40x5ac2c6u0ckzfz59ig (click on download button at the top)
OR
1b) For Boost, download this xml file: https://www.box.com/s/o9folfrq00ee9p2qj5pv (click on download button at the top)
OR
1c) For Virgin Mobile, download this xml file: https://www.box.com/s/9itl21drpp84enqeszc9 (click on download button at the top)
2) Download and install "APN Backup & Restore" from the Google Play Store to your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...pRestore&hl=en
3) Convert the "APN Backup & Restore" into a system app by either using Titanium Backup, or simply use Root Explorer/ES File Explorer (root enable it) to move the APK from /data/app to /system/app.
4) Reboot the phone.
5) Launch the app, click on menu, then click on "Disable ICS Check".
6) In the main app menu, click on "Backup APNs". This will create a directory called "ApnBackupRestore" in your /mnt/sdcard.
7) Copy the xml file from step 1 to the /mnt/sdcard/ApnBackupRestore folder.
8) Go back to the main app menu, click on "Delete APNs" and confirm it.
9) Go back to the main app menu, click on "Restore APNs".
10) Choose the file you downloaded from step 1 and confirm it.
11) Reboot your phone.
12) Done.
Method 2 - (work around, doesn't require rooted phone)
1) Download and install Go SMS Pro to your phone from the Google Play Store.
2) Launch Go SMS Pro and skip through the intro message screens.
3) Skip the Go Chat Service offer unless you really want that.
4) Press Menu button on your GS3.
5) Choose Settings.
6) Scroll down the menu and choose Set default SMS program.
7) Press each entry in the list and put a check mark on "Use by default for this action" then choose Go SMS Pro. When both are done, press the back button on your phone.
8) Up on top, press "Advanced"
9) Scroll down the list and press "MMS Settings"
10) Scroll down the list and put a check mark on "Fill APN configuration manually"
11) Press "MMSC".
12a) Type in "http://mms.sprintpcs.com" - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.
OR
12b) Type in "http://mm.myboostmobile.com" for Boost
OR
12c) Type in "http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?" for Virgin Mobile
13) Press "MMS PROXY".
14) Type in "68.28.31.7" (Sprint & Boost) OR "205.239.233.136" (Virgin Mobile) - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.
15) Press "MMS PORT".
16) Type in "80" (Sprint & Boost) OR "81" (Virgin Mobile) - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.
17) Press back button on phone twice.
18) Send/receive a few SMS/MMS messages to test.
19) Done.
Works for Kit KAt (4.4) too
Hey,
Method 1 works for Kit Kat 4.4.1. I'm on a VM evo 3d with the CyanogenMod 11.0 VILLUMINATI Rom
The only difference is the app has to be moved to the /system/priv-app folder for it to be able to acquire the correct permissions.
I also did step 3) with titanium backup, not sure if it helped or not.
Cheers.

That's strange, i used this method on 15+ phones with no issues. Are you on the sprint variant? Are you on 5.0.1? If you still don't have data type ##72786# into the dialer pad and try again.

With this method of unlocking could I bring my Note Edge to Verizon? I've been told by both Verizon and Sprint reps that this cannot be done, but I am leery of them for obvious reasons and based on what I've read online....which is that it might be possible.
It is possible.. just not conventional. Both verizon and sprint are cdma based, however they are on different spectrum. So, while you can activate it. Something will be broken. etc. Mms, data, sms.. i would just sell the phone and get a Verizon variant. I hear they have a developer edition?? XD
Can u please help me unlock my note edge sprint on lollipop..i tried downgrading to kitkat but failed and shows error for sw version check failed.....please help me.

[GUIDE] Switch software region to allow bootloader unlocking

In my process of unlocking the bootloader for my Realme X3 SuperZoom, I hit an error in the In-Depth Test app that told me I had a "carrier-customized" device and thus couldn't continue. I figured out how to get around this without needing root. All you need is a Windows computer, ADB, and a super shady program (I've tested it and there don't seem to be any viruses in it). Let's get started.
Bootloader unlock guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/x3-superzoom/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-realme-x3-t4136325/.
WARNING: this won't wipe your personal data, but it does appear to clear WiFi passwords.
If you haven't already, enable Developer Options and USB Debugging.
Next, download the Oppo_Free_Unlock_v1.0.zip file from the attachments and extract it somewhere.
Before you run anything, though, there's a little preparation that needs to be done.
Open Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters category.
Find your Ethernet adapter and double click it to open its properties.
Go to the Advanced tab and find the Network Address option in the Property pane.
Under the Value pane, select the radio button next to the text box and paste in the following: 704D7B61ABCD.
If you don't have an Ethernet adapter, try to find another network adapter here that has the Network Address property. It may help to install VirtualBox, since it will add fake Ethernet adapters.
Close the properties window and close Device Manager.
Go to where you extracted the unlock tools. Open Sec5.exe.
Make sure your device is in MTP mode, and then press the Unlock button.
After about a second, a string of numbers and letters should show up in the left pane. A few seconds later, "OK" should start flashing in the right pane. Press "Stop unlocking" and close the window.
Open the phone app on your device and dial *#3954391#. Then dial *#391#. A screen should come up with a whole bunch of regions listed. Choose the first one: "Multilingual Version Ex".
Your phone should now reboot. Once it's rebooted, your region will have changed and you should be able to use the In-Depth Test app to unlock your bootloader.
In theory, changing your region like this should work on any OPPO/Realme device running at least Android Pie (9). It may even work on earlier versions.
NOTE: This will not work for Chinese variants. These codes are filtered and will only work for international variants. However, the Chinese variants should be immediately unlockable.
-----
UPDATE:
It seems like OPPO caught onto this program. That MAC address is no longer accepted. However, there is a workaround (thanks to @Sonic Steven).
If you set the custom MAC on any adapters, remove it.
If you have the Secrecy program running, close it.
Disable any Ethernet/wired/virtual adapters, leaving only WiFi enabled. If you don't have a WiFi adapter, you may be able to leave Ethernet enabled, but it isn't guaranteed to work.
In Device Manager, click the root of the device tree (it should be your computer's name).
Open the "Action" menu and click "Add legacy hardware".
Click "Next" and select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)".
Click "Next" again and select "Network adapters" in the list.
Click "Next" again. Once it loads, select "Microsoft" in the "Manufacturer" list.
In the "Model" list, select "Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter" (the name may be slightly different on other systems; select the one that has "Loopback Adapter" in the name).
Click "Next" twice to begin the installation.
Once the installation is complete, you should be able to reopen the Secrecy program and decrypt.
NOTE: The Secrecy program requires a working internet connection. It connects to OPPO's servers and performs some sort of authentication.

However, the Chinese variants should be immediately unlockable.

hello
with oppo a9 2020;
does not work, I start the procedure with Sec5.exe it recognizes the device but does not give the ok; the same thing happens when you start secrecy.exe!
How can I solve?
@Zacharee1
I think this thread should be moved to https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/android-general.1424/, since it is not only for Realme X3 SuperZoom.
This solution is also applicable to RealmeC11(RMX2185).

Yes, see above post. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ow-bootloader-unlocking.4136341/post-84091819
Got it working. Have NO MAC address listed in the Loopback and have at least 1 other network device active with internet access!
i thought you were supposed to have no internet adapter.
Also working on Realme 7 Pro, quick question, I'm already rooted with custom recovery, am I allowed to change the region without removing root and custom recovery?

Oppo A52/A72/A92 Android 11 update via VPN

Hi,
I managed to get the Android 11 update with a bit of stuffing around and thought I would share for everyone else, I did this on a unlocked Australian variant bought from Optus, you're mileage may vary.
This will activate dual sim mode on the phone with a single IMEI, I left my location set to Europe so it is upto you if you follow the last step to remove Dual Sim Mode.
You will need to backup anything you don't wish to lose as a full factory reset is required.
I did some digging and this will work with the same rom on A52, A72 and A92.
Could I get a moderator to cross post this to the other device forums please?
Requirements:
OPPO A72/A52/A92 - My bootloader is locked, My simlock is off

Oppo Free Unlock Tool - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...de-to-coloros-11-and-enable-dual-sim.4191787/
A Google account to download ExpressVPN (This is the second last step so leave for now)
A Windows PC with a internet connection

Latest ADB Drivers - https://adb.clockworkmod.com/
Instructions:

9) Under the Value pane, select the radio button next to the text box and paste in the following: 704D7B61ABCD.
10) Install ADB Drivers.
11) Extract OPPO Free Unlock Tool, You're antivirus may give a false positive so you will have to manually add an exception for the tool.
12) Go to where you extracted the unlock tools. Open Sec5.exe.
13) Plug in phone via USB and select "Transfer Files".
14) Enable developer options on phone and activate USB Debugging.
15) Press Allow when prompted to give PC ADB access.
16) Open Sec5 window.
17) After about a second, a string of numbers and letters should show up in the left pane, Press Start Unlocking and few seconds later, "OK" should start flashing in the right pane.
18) Press stop unlocking and disconnect phone.
19) Open the phone app on your device and dial *#3954391#. Then dial *#391#. A screen should come up with a whole bunch of regions listed. (Take note of the one highlighted in green as you will need this in the final step).
20) Choose this one: "Europe EUEX" and click Ok you're phone will restart.
21) Download the rom from provided link to the phone and install through recovery mode.
