[Q] KitKat Space restrictions & sdcard - Samsung Galaxy Ace 4

1. Can you install 2-4 gb size apps on this phone, for example games?
2. Is not having a proximity sensor a big situation? the screen doesnt shut off?
Thanks for help!

About the G357FZ model:
You could install <2GB but you wouldn't be able to install much else. Low internal memory. You can't install 4GB games AFAIK.
The proximity sensor is annoying but it wasn't a big turn off for me but there are some issues with it turning on in your pocket. I would advice against buying it if you haven't bought it already. Unless you're dead set on a Super AMOLED screen since this is about the cheapest good Super AMOLED device right now. Buy a Moto G or something instead.

It doesn't have a proximity sensor! And you can install bigger apps if you root and remove bloatware

Some questions

Hello, im about to get xperia mini pro , but want some users/owners opinions about the phone ,manly cause my last phone was a SEw380(headaches) ,this gonna be my first smartphone and im trying to avoid headaches , so i want a good choise .So here a few questions :
1) Reading this website i found that some(?) devices have cicada(electrostatic) noises . In other website i read that the new devices have new hardware and there was an upgrade to the software's phone, so the issue was solved? this noise could harm the phone?
2)Also read about the light sensor that some times go crazy , and the screen starts flickering .
3)The keys in the bottom of the phone , right and left(i think back and the other dont know) some times go crazy (?) .
Also i really appreciate if u could share ur opinions about the phone , adv and disadv and if have other problems . Thanks.

1.) new builds dont have this problem
2.) only n bad ligntning conditions when you put finger over sensor
3.) that issue was in xperia mini, not mini pro
> technically, no. noise is from hardware (to be precise, mic in keyboard) and the noise only appear if you're recording in an empty room or silent places
in crowd / festival / party / whatever the noise won't come
> sorry, didn't happen on my XMP
> in theory, no. but in practice I find it rather amusing too since my some part of my hand accidentally hit the sensor key if I don't use keyboard mode on landscape view :v

ps: sorry for my bad english
1. The electrostatic noise is there.. At least for me, the early adopter, not sure of new hardware revision sony might introduce w/o us knowing. But its really a faint clicks, only heard in very silent video which i doubt why you would want to rec a silent empty scene :-D.
2. The flicker issue that some might encounter maybe due to the sensor getting confused whether the scene is dark or bright. So it keeps flickering. Personally i never had experience with this issue.
3. The capacitive keys are fine, unless you're holding it in landscape mode without opening the keyboard, maybe your palm accidentally touch it.
4. PROS: A very nice piece of hardware. Great performance. Benchmark even surpass galaxy s on stock fw. Overclockable to 2GHz. Small screen? Not a problem, because you type with the hardware keyboard so all of the screen estate goes toward serving you visually unlike most touch screen phone the "onscreen" keyboard fils 3 quarter of the screen. So you see less of the text you're typing.
Cons: battery life is sometime frustrating, juice defender seems to make it better but it renders my whatsapp unusable because juice defender turn off the wifi/3g connection when screen is off. Wifi range is weak compared to my ipod touch. Maybe its an issue with all android phone because i've seen galaxy s suffers the same problem.

I pre-ordered last night....

So I pre-ordered last night at my local at&t store. I am excited as before I went to my at&t store I passed by best buy to hold the dummy model they have. Its big but I was still able to thumb the other side of the device with one hand. I also played with the samsung player which has a 5" screen and runs android but I guess thats just suppose to be an mp3 player, either way it looked similar to the note and it looked great. I can imagine how good the note's display will look.
The only thing right now that is bugging me a little is getting by with no led notification. Can you guys suggest how to get over that little led light that will no longer be on the note? Or how you guys with devices with no led lights are coping?
there is a app that you can get and its free called no led.. My wife had the same issue as she was used to a led light and when she got her samsung she missed it.. works well
But that requires your screen to turn on so basically killing the battery right? I know some samsung devices have that bln mod but not sure how well that works and if its even compatible with the lte note. Any led camera flash apps maybe?
no it puts a small icon that lights up on your screen and bounces around. the rest of your screen is dark.
Camera flash? For notifications? Seems to me that would kill that battery way faster than 64 pixels floating around the screen . . .

What does it really mean to "turn on the screen" for the Samsung AMOLED displays? LCD-based displays need a backlight, even when displaying a single pixel. But turning on just a few LED pixels on a Samsung AMOLED display is probably a very low power operation, since only active pixels should need to be powered, and since there is no backlight.
I haven't had an LED notification for years. And I am thankful that I don't. I remember on BB when I had the LED notification, I was constantly looking at my phone to see if the light was beeping. Without it, I'm so much less obsessed with seeing if I have that stupid blinking light.
@bkeaver - I thought it required the screen to be on
@LiquidArrogance - I've seen the iphone do it like that with a case
@vaxheadroom - Then I definitely am not sure the difference between lcd and AMOLED displays
@kiltedthrower - I'm still obsessed no thanks to the blackberry days
here is a link to the app.... should give you a idea of how it works and what it looks like

Once a kernel is developed that supports bln which I imagine will be fairly quickly, it will be available. And it works very well, I use it on my captivate all you have to do is install the bln supporting kernel, download the app, set up what apps turn on the leds and you're done.

[Q] Setting GPU as Default

Hi,
My S4 half screen is not working. The touch fuctionality works perfect but i cant see the half of the screen. When I start the camera or video option, the complete screen works perfect. When I open a hd movie in full screen, the complete screen works perfect. When I switch to home panel or OS functions, I loose the half of the screen again.
I was told that is a problem with the cpu/gpu switching. Every thing looks perfect on gpu.
I already tried "Force GPU Rendering", I opened my phone and verified the display connector unplugging and plugging it with no result.
Is possible to set the phone to use only the gpu?
Is that even possible?
My phone is a Galaxy S4 rooted with kitkat 4.4.2
Sorry for my ignorance and any help is welcome.
PD. My guarantee is done but i have the ensurance that cost $150 deductible for a new one

HDX 7" weird touchscreen issue.

Hi Everyone
So I've been having issues with the touchscreen for Kindle fire HDX 7" tablet. I have spoken to Amazon customer service which was no help and the only help they offered was for me to buy a new Kindle which is unacceptable in my opinion.
When I first turn on my tablet everything is working fine with no issues, but after some light usage and maybe some internet browsing it starts to lock up. It almost seems like there's some memory leak issue where the RAM fills up too fast causing the device to become unresponsive. Some parts of the screen becomes unresponsive while other parts of the screen work ok especially when using the keyboard. The tablet seems to be completely responsive again if I press the power button where it takes me back to the homepage but only for like 2 minutes and then starts to do the same thing again. One thing to note is it's not always the same area of the screen that becomes unresponsive.
I have tried doing a factory reset, hard reboot, and even used a custom ROM (CM 11 using Safestrap v4). I am still getting the same issue so now I believe it's some sort of hardware issue but not sure which. I would like to see if I can fix this as I did spent over 240 dollars on this device. Could it be the screen display and digitizer causing this issue or something else? There are no cracks in the screen and I do not believe it was ever dropped. If anyone can shed any light on what could be the problem that would be fantastic.
-Thanks
Matthew

LG K4 M151 2017 Brightness issue

So recently i bought a LG k4 m151, its a pretty good phone for the 50$ I paid for it but recently its been doing this thing where when i set it above 60 brightness the screen dims slightly in away where i can still see everything but just make the screen not as bright and messes with my eyes which is annoying, but if i set it to auto brightness and manually adjust the brightness it doesn't have this problem, and sometimes the problem flat out doesn't happen at all. I would like to know if this is a hardware or software problem or just some kind of defect, im running android 6.0.1 ive tried a factory reset and nothing happened. I also have apex launcher if that means anything. I would also like to know if I should return it and get a new one also if you want me to make a video of the phone doing the thing I will.
I dont understand
