[ROM] Stock 5.1 | LMY47D | 3/11 | Odexed | - Nexus 5 Android Development

I'm just going to go ahead and leave this here. I have yet to test it since I no longer own the device but it's the same thing as my 5.0.2 stock ROM so I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Reason I started new thread just for this is because bigxie's thread was closed sadly .
Features (Not Really, Just Stock Crap)
Odexed
NO ROOT (Want it? Download THIS and flash it afterwards)
100% Stock - No modifications
Can flash over existing stock 5.0.2 ROM
Want to update from 5.0.2 to 5.1? Follow these steps.
Download this ROM and go into your recovery.
Flash this ROM WITHOUT WIPING ANYTHING!
If you want to root or keep your root flash over the file above next to the "NO ROOT" text.
Then click Wipe Cache/Dalvik and slide.
Reboot.
.....
Profit?
Want a fresh new start on android 5.1?
You guys already know the drill its a nexus for ****s sake. Download ROM, Reboot to recovery, wipe everything except internal sd card, and OTG, flash ROM. Profit? Not hard
Now to the good stuff:
LMY47D Android 5.1 - Broken for now.
Credit
Bigxie - For his original updater script
Google - Yeah, yeah..
Me
Other (DISCLAIMER - READ)
Oh yeah did I mention that this is just a test and the first few people are basically guinea pigs. I am not RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE, YOU ARE FLASHING UNDER THE CONSENT THAT IT CAN POSSIBLE BREAK YOUR DEVICE (EXTREMELY UNLIKELY). If people report that is working then its all good if not then I will make a few adjustments and it should be fine and all. Worst thing that can happen is Google Play Services crashing upon setup (For clean flashes of course).

Thanks!!!!!

Yup, it flashes successfully after awhile. Stays at boot animation for quite a bit on first boot. Reverts to boot animation at end of optimizing apps (where it says starting apps), happened for 3 times before I gave up and flashed something else.

loop at optimizing apps 3-5times...lol

Can not get passed boot animation

I flashed this rom with SuperSU and double wipe. When I boot into the system, I could not jump out of the "Optimizing apps" loop.
After 4 times of loop, I gave it up.

Same problem for me too - boots, updates apps, gets to "starting", then just reboots and starts updating apps again.
Was this even tested?!
Shame as I find it handy to have an installable version of the vanilla ROM to hand.

But what's the point in putting up something that's completely untested (and apparently doesn't even work)?
Pointless waste of time IMO

No Gapps right now. Don't worry though, our guy is working feverishly to get them updated.
This fast? well, good, thanks.
Has anyone flashed this build yet? Any input?
i guess i could extract them from the nexus 5 facotry image then de-odex them and then make my own flashable zip? haha hopefully someone is ahead of me.
So this can just be flashed with no gapps?

Does this use the Nexus 5 binaries or the Nexus 7 4.3 binaries? I mean the devices are similar to each other.
Is there a deb/lte version of the rom?
I flashed via twrp. Seemed legit. Quick perusal of settings indicated 4.4. Maybe because gapps weren't installed but I couldn't get Google now working - either through up swipe or the new right swipe from the main screen. Worth a go for the adventurous.

Just an FYI for you and for others...you don't need Gapps to operate Android. But there are three main things to take note of.
1) You won't be greeted by the welcome screen, and it will boot directly to the launcher.
2) The Play Store will be missing, so obvious problems will face you. Even if you download the play store and install it yourself, you will be presented with problem #3.
3) You cannot add any Google accounts, so the play store and all gapps will be useless, even if they are installed from the internet. This is the main problem with having no Gapps.
But no fear, you can still install Titanium Backup and restore your backups, if you have any. Or attempt to install an old version of gapps and see what happens. Don't be afraid to experiment. I haven't heard about messing with software bricking devices as of yet.
i tried to install the some apps manually but settings force closes any time i try to go to the security tab. everything else seems to work flawlessly though
I tried flashing this using 4.3 gapps and it didn't work out too good. Setup wizard FC stuck. Just letting the other impatient people know.

I have never used twrp but heard it can sometimes take a very long time to do certain things. (like 10 min to clear cache)
Can anyone who uses this tell me how well it works on the device.

If there are delays like you suggest that may be device related.

Have you tried flashing a rom or something yet? I'm a bit wary about using new versions of recoveries after things that happened on the N4 in the past..
Guys....
Dunno if it's just me, but after flashing this recovery - I lost GSM
I've just had to flash the Stock firmware from scratch to get any mobile signal back!. Hopefully just an issue with me(?)
Works perfect thanks!

I lost GSM yesterday too but that was after I unlocked the bootloader which was strange. All I had to do was a factory reset to get it back.
I have come to Expect weird things like this to happen when flashing, especially on new versions of android.

This is a request of moving this thread of moving this thread to the Original Android Development Section.
As stated in one of the purposes of the section, it is a section for all the work done originally or from scratch in which a official release should be.
Also as stated : " Official releases/development of such original ROMs, perhaps posted by the maintainer or their nominated person."
There is no word of recovery but official recovery builds always go to the original section.

I first try with DeltaDroidGapps. I see the stuck on the config scrren and i reinstall (always with all wipes) without any gapps. I search on dev/log to see if there is any log but nothing...

It's not working - I got a reboot after welcome screen. With and without GApps. So it's probably bad build or it's not ready yet.

[ROM] [H918] 10k Stock Rom Flashable Zip

The link below is a stock flashable zip of the LG V20 10k ROM. I extracted it from the latest KDZ file using kdztools and python 2.7 on Windows. I built the ROM from the extraction using Superrs kitchen version 3 on Linux. It took me over a month (working 10 or so hours a week) to get it right. I had a lot of help from Superr himself. A HUGE thanks goes out to him.
It is not rooted but you can flash magisk or SuperSU to root it. It does not flash recovery. It does not encrypt.
Using magisk it works with both Samsung and Android [email protected] which is the main reason I built it.
To Do's: none
Issues: none, unless they are LG's fault lol
Flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible if your device gets bricked.

Clean install instructions: twrp, nand backup, wipe, install, reboot

Enjoy. Please give thanks if this ROM is helpful for you.

Any difference between the two?
When I can get my hands on a 10n ROM I will get right to work on a flashable zip ?

Not anything major. I just cleaned up the installer script a little

Is this good for a daily driver? Just wanted to be clear of the pros and cons of this ROM over stock.

Heck yes it is. I use it with no issues whatsoever. It IS stock it's just flashable. That means I can have both root and have stock
yes, see above

So happy you did this. Phone is brand new again. No hiccups or nothing. Running SuperSU and a few mods. Nothing heavy. Viper flashed nicely, also the mod for 3rd speaker and charging. All I need! Running stock kernel. It just runs better! Thanks again!

Thank you sir and that's good news.
Looks like a new update is getting rolled out as new speak. I'm working on getting a twrp zip for it and a new stock rom too when I can get ahold of the kdz file
